Thank you in advance.
Jorge

Hi Jorge,
Firstly you need to know which modules you would like to work with our software. We have many modules, FI (financial), SD(sales/distribution), etc. and you can find a training about the module that you chose. Please, for more information check the website:

  • Introduction to SAP HR ECM

    Hi Mates,
i am just starting development for SAP HR ECM. here i have a few simple questions:
    1. what is the relationship between ECM and HCM? is it a submodule of HCM?
    2. What is the ECM development course documents ID? like the BC400 for ABAP introduction.
    thanks  you.

    Hi Stephen,
As Kumar says ECM is part of HCM and is utilized to process pay and incentive adjustments.  There is no separate programming course specifically for ECM, but there is an introductory course HR350 for Programming in HCM.  There is a configuration course for Enterprise Compensation Management - HR540.
The basic set-up of ECM does not require programming but it is configured in IMG: Personnel Administration --> Enterprise Compensation Management.  Here you develop budgets and the various compensation plans and long term incentive plans with rules, guidelines and programs.
We have used ECM for the past 7 years (now on ECC 6.0 Ehp5) and I can answer specific questions on your set-up.  We do use programming for override tables (processing someone outside the rules) and for some custom reports.  But the basic set-up is done with config.

  • SAP R/3 and miniSAP

    Hi there,
I am new to SAP and I recently installed SAP R/3 on my computer which i had bought from Ebay...here is a link with the product that i installed.
    <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSAA:US:11&Item=180087822187">SAP R/3 From EBAY</a>
    Item number: 180087822187 on Ebay.com
However, after reading the introduction to SAP, I have come to realize that what I really needed to buy or install was SAP BW since Business Warehousing is the field that I want to pursue.
My computer has 2 hard drives (<b>C drive has 160gb</b>) and (<b>E drive has 70gb</b>)
SAP R/3 is currently installed on the C drive and works just fine.
I would to install miniSAP on my computer as well. However, I noticed that there was a restriction for installing miniSAP indicating:
<b>"Make sure that no other SAP system is installed on your computer"</b>
Is it possible to install miniSAP on my computer...but instead of installing it on the C drive....put it on the E drive. ?
It would be nice to have both SAP R/3 and SAP BW installed on the different hard-drives.
Please let me know if this is possible or what my options are.
    Sorry for the looong story.
    thanks
    Kenny

If by miniSAP, you are referring to the current sneak previews (since you can't get miniSAP on SDN anymore), then yes, you can install both R/3 and sneak preview (ABAP SP11) on one machine.
That being said, if you really need to only work on BW/BI, then you don't really need R/3. Unfortunately, the download for ABAP SP11 is currently not available, hopefully it will be up soon.

  • ABAPer looking for basic knowledge on SAP FI

    Hi,
I got in to ABAP recently. I would like learn basis of SAP FI. if any one have any info regarding the same.pls share.
    Regards,
    Shrini..

    hi,
    Introduction
The SAP FI Module has the capability of meeting all the accounting and financial needs of an organization. It is within this module that Financial Managers as well as other Managers  within your business can review the financial position of the company in real time as compared to legacy systems which often times require overnight updates before financial statements can be generated and run for management review.
The real-time functionality of the SAP modules allows for better decision making and strategic planning. The FI (Financial Accounting) Module integrates with other SAP Modules such as MM (Materials Management), PP (Production Planning), SD(Sales and Distribution), PM (Plant Maintenance),and PS (Project Systems).
The FI Module also integrates with HR(Human Resources) which includes PM(Personnel Management), Time Management, Travel Management, Payroll.Document transactions occurring within the specific modules generate account postings via account determination tables.
The FI (Financial Accounting) Module  components.
The FI Module comprises several sub-modules as follows:
    Accounts Receivables
    Accounts Payable
    Asset Accounting
    Bank Accounting
    Consolidation
    Funds Management
    General Ledger
    Special Purpose Ledger
    Travel Management
Accounts Receivables records all account postings generated as a result of Customer sales activity.
These postings are automatically updated in the General Ledger . It is within the Accounts
Receivables Module that you can monitor aging of the receivables and generate customer analysis. The Accounts Receivable Module also integrates with the General ledger, Sales and Distribution, and Cash Management Modules.
Accounts Payable records account postings generated as a result of Vendor purchasing activity. Automatic postings are generated in the General Ledger as well. Payment programs within SAP enables the payment of payable documents by check, EDI, or transfers.
Asset Accounting is utilized for managing your company’s Fixed Assets. SAP allows you to categorize assets and to set values for depreciation calculations in each asset class.
Bank Accounting allows for management of bank transactions in the system including cash management.
Consolidation enables the combining of financial statements for multiple entities within an organization. These statements provide an overview of the financial position of the company as a whole.
Funds Management allows management to set budgets for revenues and expenses within your company as well as track these to the area of responsibility.
General Ledger is fully integrated with the other SAP Modules. It is within the General Ledger that all accounting postings are recorded. These postings are displayed in real-time providing up-to-date visibility of the financial accounts.
Special Purpose Ledger is used to define ledgers for reporting purposes. Data can be gathered from internal and external applications.
Travel Management provides management of all travel activities including booking trips and handling of expenses associated with travel.

  • SAP SD & HANA

    Hi friends,
Is there any additional functionality in SD or any new learning required with the introduction of SAP HANA for SAP SD consultants?
HANA seems to be a latest technology now.
    Appreciate your response.
    Regards,
    Anji

I personally think HANA will bring the BIG DATA concepts into BW, BOBJ reporting.  It should be easier that we don't have to think in advance what reports will be developed.  Instead, we throw every bit of data to BW/HANA without building InfoCubes.  Any report can be then developed as we have all the data.
    Let's see what others think.

  • What is "SAP Best Practices Baseline Versions"?

Could you help explain what is the relationship between "SAP Best Practices Baseline Versions " and
    other SAP products?
    Thanks!

1)SAP Best Practices Baseline Versions will deliver preconfigured organizational settings for different scenarios with regard to the following areas: common organizational structures, logistic organizational structures, and intercompany organizational structures. these can be implemented on any of the component based on the platform availability, and cannot be directly used. For example with out installing an SAP sysetm you cannot implement baseline versions. So the relation would be Component or Product is primarily available to use the secondary component i.e Baseline versions on it.
The SAP Best Practices Baseline Package is available in different country versions (for example, for France, Nordics, Germany,
the United States, and the U.K.). The scope of these localized versions might differ depending on country-specific needs. Please check this link: http://www.sap.com/services/pdf/BWP_SAP_Best_Practices_for_Baseline_Package.pdf
    2)The other products are
    Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
    Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
    Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
    Supply Chain Management (SCM)
    Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
The SAP NetWeaver technology platform enables the composition, provisioning, and management of SAP and non-SAP applications across a heterogeneous software environment (release version from 640 to 700 and above)  Prior to the introduction of SAP NetWeaver as an integrated technology platform, SAP has developed a number of integration technologies and offered them as individual products, among them for example SAP Enterprise Portal, or SAP Exchange Infrastructure.
    SAP NetWeaver Platform
SAP NetWeaver Portal (formerly SAP Enterprise Portal)
    SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence
    SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer
    SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure
    SAP Composite Application Framework

This book, SAP FICO Black Book, brings to you a simple to the point non technical jargon free discussion on SAP FICO along with comprehensive real life examples based on authors real life implementations. One of the first FICO books which cover business cycles rather than plain technical configuration. Targeting intermediate and advanced-level readers, this book discusses Implementation Tools; Enterprise Structure; New GL Configuration; Online Document Splitting; AR; AP; AA; Bank accounting; Integration of FI with Other Modules; Business Processes; Controlling; Cost Center Accounting; Product Costing; Material Ledger Configuration and Profit Center Accounting.
The author has spent the last 10 years of his career acquiring this knowledge through the trial and error method. It covers the end user as well as technical configuration perspective. • Get started with SAP Security

    Hi Guys,
My company will implement sap very shortly and I have an opportunity to get in to it.
I have some user level knowledge of SAP. What is the best way to practice. I have access to the system. I read some material on sap website. Can some one point me to get started to learn.
    Thanks,
    MS.

SAP software is huge and there are so many different areas into it. It is best to undergo training to get started on SAP. Since your company is going to implement SAP soon, most likely you will be imparted training depending upon your role. But if you want to take initiative and have ambition to get into an SAP role, you may need to put extra effort.
SAP Education (a division of SAP) and SAP Education Partners (e.g. Siemens Information Services, NIIT and a lot many) provide trainings - classroom, virtual and e-learning. But that may cost you a lot. There are several online training providers who provide SAP training at reasonable price. You may Google and find a good one. The SAP forums may also help you in your search. You already have SAP system access, so you are spared from sending money on this front. Otherwise it too may cost you depending on your usage.
Still if you want to look for resources which can help you do things on SAP system, all I can tell you is that there is no such organized SAP Handbook. You may go through a book on using SAP and for general information. Yes, for different topics you will get tutorials which guide you step-wise-step. For example, suppose you want know how for LSMW (Legacy System Migration Workbench) which uploads data from your local system to SAP system so that SAP users can make use of it. You can search for LSMW and you will find information (e.g I found this in Google search results: LSMW FAQs) which will help you to carry out the task. The point I want to make is you need to know what you want to do and then you can search for the required information.
Probably in ABAP (SAP Programming language), it's possible to get started. You can go through an SAP Press Book "ABAP Objects" from Horst Keller and Sascha Kruger which starts you with your first ABAP program.
If you want an overview of SAP software and various solutions in the mySAP Business Suite family (which you will come across while implementation and after-wards at your company), the following series of articles may help you:
    PART-1 What is SAP?
PART-2 Evolution of SAP ERP Software
PART-3 Introduction to SAP Business Suite
PART-4 SAP definition of terms and its various offerings
    Hope it helps:-)
