Intrusive Volume Display on iOS 7

Is there any way of changing the Volume Display on iOS 7 so that it doesn't completely intrude whatever you have on the screen?
If you're watching a video or playing a game, adjusting the volume commits you to a few seconds of being unable to see anything on the screen, compared to former iOS with a transparent display.
Any way of changing this back? If not, Apple can you sort this out? It's been bugging me!

The next step in user troubleshooting is a restore from backup. If that does not correct it, then a restore as a new device. Failure at both of those steps would then indicate it could possibly be a hardware issue and you would need to make an appointment at the Genius Bar at Apple to have the phone checked.

  • TS2771 Ipod volume display, and audio

I've turned my ipod on and off twice and the audio still doesn't work for any video's, music, or ringtones. it also doesn't show the volume display. what do I do?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Get volumes displayed by default under Home when opening File Explorer in Windows 10 Technical Preview

    Scenario:
In Windows 8.1, it is to display volumes under This PC by default when opening File Explorer, which is as shown in Figure1. However, in Windows 10 Technical Preview, it is not to display volumes under Home by default when
opening File Explorer, which is as shown as in Figure 2. This articles describes a workaround to get volumes displayed by default under
Home when opening File Explorer in Windows 10 Technical Preview.
    Workaround:
This workaround is to edit some related Registry keys. Note: Please click
Yes in the User Account Control prompt to continue. What’s more, before you make changes to a registry key or subkey, we recommend that you export, or make a backup copy, of the key or subkey. In this scenario, please backup the key
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer.
Click Windows icon and type Folder option in Search box, and click
    Folder option to open it.
Under View tab, clear the checkbox Hidden extensions for known file types
    in Advanced settings.
Create a Text Document, copy the following lines into it, rename it as
Fix.reg. Double click the file fix.reg and click Yes to run this file

i think what he want is to change the Win + E shortcut to This PC.
I understand that is the goal. I've tried the registry hack, it works, but I found it left fragments of other files from "Home' scatter around in there too. We all been using this new version of windows for a few weeks now, built up a list of stuff
we have looked at, and that is why I said it's not the prettiest solution. It might have been okay if it was done just after a fresh install. In my alternative solution, you are bringing the This PC icon out to a more accessible place so you
don't have to use the File Explorer icon to get at the volumes i.e. hard drive view.
Personally, when I launch the File Explorer, I am expecting to be looking for something straight away on my hard drives and not be presented with a list of stuff that I have already looked at. That kind of thing should be left
in a Recent Folder sort of thing we use to see in the older versions of windows.

  • Dropped iPad2, volume display stays on max's out automatically - cannot adjust anymore?

I recently dropped my iPad2 and although most things seem to operate normally the volume display stays on and the volume automatically goes straight to max. I am traveling overseas & need to get some running repairs?
    Thanks

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!

  • Progess meter/volume display gone from "Now playing" screen. (30gb video)

I don't know how I did it, but about a week ago, I must have hit an unfortunate conbination of buttons on my Ipod 30g Video. Now instead of my progess meter/volume display all I see is five little circles in a horizontal line. I can't seem to fix it. Anyone have any ideas?

  • T430 Truncated volume display

The volume display popup for my T430 Windows 7 laptop usually appears truncated, like so:
Sometimes it displays properly such that the left corners are rounded and there's a number at the right, but this seems to be increasingly rare.  This problem happens whether or not I have an external monitor attached.
It's important to note that it is not centered properly.  The middle of the speaker icon lines up with the middle of my screen.  When it's working right, the whole thing is centered.  Some careful measuring in GIMP reveals that if I take the distance from the right edge of the indicator (as shown above) to the right edge of the screen, duplicate that distance on the left side, and put a mark there, the halfway point between that mark and the right edge of the indicator is exactly halfway across my screen.  From this I conclude that the transparent cutout for the overlay is in the right spot, but the contents of the overlay are shifted beyond the transparent region.
I spoke with customer support about it, and he said, "yeah, known issue, fixed by upgrading drivers."  Upgrading did nothing, and I suspect he just said that to get rid of me.  That was half a year ago.
Does anyone else have this same problem?  Any clues how to fix it?  What diagnostics can I look?
My screen brightness indicator has exactly the same problem.

  • Annoying volume display, can somebody do something about this?

I have been an iphone/ipad user forever but somehow I feel that lately this has been bugging me a lot. Can somebody please do something about this feature, wherein that huge volume display takes over whatever you are watching everytime you adjust the volume on the iphone and the ipad?
Does this bother others too or is it just me?

As mentioned, this is a user to user forum.  If you don't like this feature (or anything else about iPhone for that matter), feel free to provide feedback directly to Apple via the following link:  https://www.apple.com/support/contact/

  • Volume "display" on iPad2

I have recently used the ALARM facility for a number of days without a problem. Today, after accepting the alarm call the program shut down but the VOLUME display is now firmly set in the middle of the screen and volume is HIGH.
I was also on FACETIME for 20 minutes before this happened

    Hello there,
I tried your solution but whilst it did not work I think I might have missed something.
There was something I did not fully understand and that was when you said "close all open apps" I thought I had done so but apparently I had not .....but
I followed the close down instructions and eventually got the APPLE logo but the display returned with no text.
I then saw your icon and when I looked at recent posts I saw your answer to a previous, similar, question to which your reply was "are you using a sleeve?" I was so I took it off and, HEY PRESTO, the display had disappeared!!!!
So, a heartfelt Thank You. I had reconciled myself to spending all day sorting this out and now I can respond to my wife's request to go and cut the grass!
    Thanks again,

  • Why does the ringer volume display frequently on 3gs

Why does the ringer volume keep displaying on my 3gs? Seems it may do this when the phone is picked up or shaken.

This just happened to me today. The ringer volume display just remains on screen. Tried hard rese, nothing. It happened right after I dropped my 3GS - of which I've done many times but had not affected it because of the silicone case taking the brunt of the shock. Hope someone has a solution to this.

  • How do I re enable the on-screen volume display?

I had my laptop shipped back to the manufacturer to fix some bugs and when I got it back, the volume display stopped showing up. How do I re-enable it?

    Hi,
Download and install MediaSmart SmartMenu (version 3.1.2.2  for 32/64 bit Win7) from here.
    Important note!
Before you will install above software you need to have installed at least one MediaSmart product. The best choice will be in my opinion:
MediaSmart DVD here (version 4.1.4328  for 32/64 bit Win7)
If you don't want to use so many extra software then you may download and install 3VRX (ver 2.5 for 32/64 bit Win7) from here.
    Note:
Here is YouTube video which shows what can be done with 3VRX software.
