Intsalling existing products onto a new computer.

Hi,
I recently purchased Lightroom 3 and CS5 and succesfully installed them onto my laptop. However, my laptop is coming to the end of its life. When I get my new laptop, is it OK to re-install the programs? I have the disks. Is there anything I need to be aware of?
Thank you,
Mike

The situation is different for CS5 and LR 3.
CS5: You have to de-activate / uninstall it on the laptop before installing it on a new computer.
LR 3: Adobe allows installation of LR on two computers (to be precise: one computer at/for work, one at home); so you don't need to uninstall it on your laptop before installing it on a new computer.
But, since you don't know who might get their hands on your old computer after you discarded it, it might be a good idea to un-install LR on the old computer, too. If someone else would use LR on your old laptop that would be a violation of the LR license - as far as I understand it.
For installation of CS5 and for LR 3 on the new computer you need the serial # for each program, and if any of them is an upgrade you need the serial # of your first full (= non-upgrade) version of the program. Personally, I would not install from disk but download from Adobe because all available upgrades are included in the download. For downloads you download the trial version(s) and unlock it/them with your serial #.

  • Downloading existing CS5 onto a new computer

I purchased cs5 in 2011 and am currently trying to download it to a new computer.  I downloaded it directly from the Adobe website and do have the serial number (but not the disc) but cannot find a way (link) to download it onto the new computer without Creative Cloud.  Where can I download CS5 only onto my new computer?

Moved from Cloud forum to Downloading forum
    Download from http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html
Follow the Very Important instructions on that page before you click the download links.
Enter your serial number to license CS5 on your computer.

  • HELP- new laptop- how do i transfer my existing tunes onto my new laptop?

    Hi Guys,
I have 800 tunes saved in the Library on my old laptop and have brought a new laptop. I want to transfer my existing tracks onto the new computer. Could someone explain how to do this or point me in the right direction.
    Thanks in advance
    Jen

    It's easy.
I'm assuming you know how to get your two notebooks onto the network, and make them accessible to each other by sharing folders.
Goto old notebook itunes, goto your iTunes settings and check to see where iTunes keeps your music. It could be in your 'My Music'. This is also where iTunes keeps the Library database. Regardless, confirm the location because you will need to SHARE this folder on your network.
Goto NEW notebook itunes. 2 things need to happen here.
    (1) In your iTunes settings, make sure you tell itunes to manage your music (which means it will copy any songs you add to the library to a local central location on your NEW notebook).
    (2) Import your ITUNES Library from OLD notebook. The import command is found in the FILE menu. Remember - you will need to browse over the network to your SHARED Folder sitting on the OLD notebook. Once iTunes imports the library, it should also be copying all the songs over the network to your new notebook. I would highly recommend not doing this over a wireless network.
    Simple.

  • TS3212 I'm trying to download my existing iTunes account onto my new computer. Whenever I push download nothing works. It thanks me for downloading and then nothing happens. There is no pop-up control in the tool bar. Help???

I'm trying to download my existing iTunes account onto my new computer. For one, every time I try and download it it takes a second and then says "thank you for downloading iTunes!" and after that there's nothing, no results, no download. I read the instructions, and I looked on my toolbar. There appears to be no pop-up control and I can't find anything relating to it. I have Windows 8, in case that makes a difference. This shouldn't be a problem, but it is, so....HELP???!

  • I purchased a new computer, i want to install the CS5 i previously purchased onto my new computer. How do I do this? Do I have to repurchase the product?

I purchased a new computer, i want to install the CS5 i previously purchased onto my new computer. How do I do this? Do I have to repurchase the product?

You don't have to repurchase CS5. If you still have the old computer, you should open one of the CS5 applications and choose Help > Deauthorize to remove using that computer from your license.
If you no longer have access to the old computer, you can do this with web chat here:

If it's a new computer, you can install from the original discs or installer. If you don't have a copy, you can download it here:

I am interested in purchasing a new PC and wanted to transfer all of the music on my Itunes onto my new computer's Itunes the easiest was possible. Any suggestions?

These are two possible approaches that should work to move the existing library to the new laptop.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase are reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your library or a backup of it then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • How do you install CS5 onto a new computer without Time Machine/file transfer

I'm not getting a new computer, but my current one is getting a little old (Macbook Pro V. 10.6.8) and I'm afraid it might crash if I download the newest Maverick system, which is why I want to make absolutely sure I'm able to save and transfer all my old files and CS5 Creative Suite programs if this indeed happens. I don't trust Time Machine to do it; my boss had this happen and Time Machine did not transfer the Adobe programs. I also don't want to rely on Time Machine and any other file transfer (which all new Macs offer) because I've had brand new computers crash because of old corrupt files from my old computer converting over, and the Apple people said it's a bad idea (which would have been nice to know BEFORE the computer crashed and everything. . .) I've been told you can only use the CD to install CS5 onto your computer twice, which I've already done (thanks to my brand new computer crashing once already). So I would like to know how it's possible to install the program onto a new computer should this one crash, without the use of file transfer or Time Machine. I have no interest in upgrading to CC.
    Thanks!

Avoid using Time Machine for re-installing Adobe software. It rarely works and usually breaks the activation mechanism.
I've been told you can only use the CD to install CS5 onto your computer twice,
    Not quite.
You can install the software as many times as you like but you can only activate the software for use on a maximum of two computers at the same time.
To re-install you will need your CS5 serial number.
Download the installer from Download CS5 products
Install then enter your serial number when prompted.

  • I had itunes on my old computer, how do I get the get my songs off my nano onto my new computer?

I just got a new computer, can you tell me how to get the songs off my ipod and onto the new computer? I have downloaded the itunes library but it says it will erase the songs on my ipod if I sinc it.

You can download the installer to your new computer from here:
    Download CS6 products
Have your serial number ready to unlock and activate.
If you are a Cloud member simply sign into the program.
Check for and download all updates.

  • I can't find where to download elements premier 11 onto my new computer?

I can't find where to download elements premier 11 onto my new computer?

    JODY
Let us put together some information which will be helpful to getting the customized answer for you that will work.
    1. Have you purchased Premiere Elements 11 and/or 12 and do you have a purchased serial number for either?
What computer operating systems are involved - old and new?
    2. If you purchased an online download of either product from Adobe, you should be able to download these files from
Adobe http://www.adobe.com in the My Orders section there once you Sign In. You can also get help from Adobe via Adobe Chat by clicking on the following link, and, when it opens, clicking on the statement "Still need help? Contact us." to discuss Orders, Refunds, and Exchanges.
    Contact Customer Care
If you did not purchase any of the installation files from Adobe, then this should not help.
    3. If you have purchased serial number but cannot file installation files or disc anywhere, you can download and install installation files for Premiere Elements 9, 10, 11, and 12 from the following web site. They are tryouts into which you can insert your purchased serial number and then make that your working program.
This is the link to the Premiere Elements 11 tryouts
Photoshop Elements 11 Direct Download Links: Free Trials, Premiere | ProDesignTools
This is the link to the Premiere Elements 12 tryouts
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Direct Download Links, Premiere too | ProDesignTools
With either of them, you have to read the Note: Very Important Instructions and follow them carefully otherwise you will end up with an Access Denied message.
Please let us know if any of the above helped. If not, please supply more details for us to help you.
    Thank you.
