InTune: Disable or control iCloud "find my ipad" setting

Hi,
My company has acquired inTune licenses recently but it's not in production yet.
One of the concerns we have, is to know if we can control the "find my ipad" setting on iCloud, basically because if the users enable this users and then they leave the company without unlinking the iPad from their user account, the iPad will be
useless.
I found this Apple support document (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5927) where they say that compatible MDM solutions can control the feature but that doesn't mean inTune has implemented it, and I'm not able to find it into the Microsoft product documentation.
- Can you confirm me if it's possible or not?
- If not, do you know if it will be implemented in the near future?

This is not yet supported by Windows Intune. It has not been documented for the next update either (which isn't to say it won't be included).

IPAD (1) and iCLOUD Find My iPAD

I have been hiving problems since I updated my firmware on my iPAD (1) locating it with the iCLOUD Find My iPAD. Both remotely and using the iPad itself. Before the update locating my iPAD worked great. I know I have "Location Services" for this funtion turned on since I have checked several time. I just trid to find my iPAD remotely from work and I received a notification that the iPAD was "Not on line". I know it is not turned off but "sleeping". Again before the upgrade I had no problems.

Just got off the phone with Apple support. All I had to do was turn off then turn on my iPAD. Apparently when I updated to IOS 5.01 I didn't re-boot my iPAD like I have and would normally do in the past.

Apple ID iCloud / find my ipad / blocked ipad

please help me with iCloud account. I had an account set up for xyz email. By the fact that I had a problem with the game, I changed to different email and password which I even don't remember and I created new account with this xyz email. Before the change, I don't log out and the old -mail account is in iCloud and it isn't configured (and it's saved under the old xyz mail). New account with xyz mail unfortunately doesn't work when I'm trying to set up my account (the old on the iPad, but with the same mail- I'm typing a password for the new account). I tried a lot of solutions with my problem. I can't log into iCloud with xyz mail to click that I lost ipad and recover it, because old account is blocked and new one is't configured. I can't restore it via computer, because I can't turn off 'find my iPad'. Is there any way to fix it and recover all the features of ipad? Thank you in advance for your answers.

You can't merge accounts or copy content to a different account, so anything that you bought or downloaded via the old account is tied to that account - so any updates that those apps get you will only be able to download via that account. You can change which account is logged in on the iPad via Settings > Store

HT204053 can i sign up for icloud find my ipad after it has been taken

I have lost or my ipad2 has been taken. How do I locate it if I have my apple id and password but didnt load the app prior to it being taken.

You can go into Settings, choose General (on the left side), then choose Software Update on the right side. This should tell you which iOS (operating system) you are presently using. No doubt it will tell you there is an update.
You will need to connect your iPad to your computer and update it through iTunes to the latest iOS, which is iOS6. Once your iPad is connected via the cable to your computer, launch iTunes. The iPad will appear in the bar on the left, click on it and you will be able to see the General Information about the iPad. You will likely get a pop-up window notifying you there is a new iOS as soon as iTunes recognizes your iPad. Then iTunes will ask if you want to download and update to the new iOS. Do that. It will take probably 20-30 minutes depending on your computer and your iPad. After the update has finished, you will need to enable iCloud which will allow you to use the Find my iPad app. Please read about iCloud from the Apple Support Site BEFORE you enable it at http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/ Good luck.

ICloud - Find my iPad

I've wiped an iPad and put in a new name. When I go to the Find my iPad site and log in with my iCloud account, it finds the iPad but shows the old name that used to be assigned to the iPad. I can't see anywhere on the site to change the association of that iPad to the new name.

so when i change the name of my iphone in settings - general - about, the name change reflects in icloud.com, is this where you are changing the name?
it might just need a refresh of the page, logging out and back in

ICloud - Find my iPad / In a school

Hello all,
I work in a school with 400 iPads. I want to use iCloud only for the Find My iPad feature. I'd like to have just one iCloud account (Apple ID) for all of them. I DO NOT need to share apps, pictures, documents, etc. I only need to use the ID for the Find My iPad feature.
I have entered one Apple ID in the iCloud section for all 400 iPads. When I go to the site to check them, only 95 show up on the list total. Also, even though I know most of them are connected to the internet, only 18 ever show up as 'online' at any given time. Those are pretty odd numbers so I can't believe those would be the exact totals. Also, I have a hard time believing that the numbers would be different. In other words, if an iCloud account does actually support 95 devices, why would it only show 18 at any given time?
So, two questions:
How many total iPads can connect to one iCloud account? How many iPads will show up as activate at the same time on one iCloud account?

Connect the iPad to your computer and restore. Place the iPad in Recovery mode if necessary to allow the restore.

My iPod mini has locked up...I cannot get in to turn off the "find my iPad" so I cannot utilize the recover. In addition the clear button at the bottom of the unit no longer works...what can I do?

Can anybody suggest how to solve this problem. I have an iPad mini that gas locked up. I cannot get into the menu to turn org the "find my iPad" setting. Is there another way...by the way, the menu button at the bottom of the iPad has stopped working, too.

You may need to restore from the cloud as so far the only way to unlock is to remove from your iCloud and erase the device. There has to be a better way.
There is a ton of info on finding an iPhone with iCloud.   Where is the info on getting it working again after it is recovered?

I can't remember my passcode for my iPad and can't restore it without turning off the Find My iPad. How can I reset it?

I've tried my passcode too many times for my iPad so now it's disabled. Everything is backed up so I'd like to restore it, but wihtout turning off the Find My iPad setting, it won't let me. Is there anyway to work around this?

No, you do not need to install the app to use the service to find the iPad. Its an iCloud function. the app is used for finding other devices, not the one it is installed on.

Hi, to change the time and/or date go into Settings, general, Date & Time. From here you have the option to "set automatically", if you turn this off a third option will appear where you can manually set the time and date. Hope this helps.

Find my iPad - going round in circles!!!

OK, I have just got hold of an iPad2 and wanted to put the 'find my iPad' app on it, which I did. However my Apple ID doesn't end in '@me.com' so it wont let me set it up. It says to go to my account settings and change my user name so that it ends in '@me.com'...sounds easy, however when I try I'm told that that address is only for mobileme members???...and I cant even join that anymore...***...The how to guild seems to think any ID will work...am I missing something here or should I just deleat the app??

The app has nothing to do with enabling your device TO BE tracked. The app is for tracking ANOTHER device which has find-my-device enabled on it.
To enable find-my-iPad tracking of your device, you need to set up a free mobileme account (see the instuctions Demo posted above) on your iPad and then switch the find-my-iPad setting to ON.
Then be sure to turn on restrictions and disable changes to accounts so the setting can not be disabled, and (IMHO) even more important, put a passcode lock on the device.

I go through a lot of firewalls that aren't under my control (I use a high school's internet to cut a long story short) if that is relevant.

Garygargar is spot on. Just unplugged my network cable and relaunched Itunes. Got past that FindMe screen, plugged the cable back in, wait 10 seconds, and on my way.
I love it when the first google search result is the actual fix for something!

Can I disable Find My iPad on iCloud using another device?

The swipe function on my iPad2 is not working, I have held down the Sleep and Home button down, got the Apple logo etc but still can not get swipe function to work. I have tried to restore iPad from back-up through iTunes but this failed too as I am told I first have to disable "Find My IPad" on iCloud before I can restore the iPad. Makes sense from a security point of view, but if I can not get into my iPad how do I go about disabling Find my iPad? Thanks in advance for any help.

password is correct. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Are you absolutely certain that you are entering the password correctly and by that I mean are you using upper and lower case letters exactly like they are in your password? Have you tried signing out in Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Try signing out, restart your iPad and then go back and sign in again.
