Intunes.cab is corrupted!

I cannot reinstall i tunes after a windows crash as I keep getting the following message. Does anyone know if this is my computer or itunes?

Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
Can you launch your iTunes now?

ITunes.cab file corrupt??

I've previously upgraded my iTunes to the latest version, and after I booted my computer to complete the installation, my iTunes won't open. It says "the cabinet file 'iTunes.cab' is corrupt and cannot be used" and it won't open. If I go back to apple.com to reinstall the program, my options are to 1. repair and 2. remove. Clearly, I don't want to remove iTunes, but when I select repair, the same error message comes up. What do I do??

The iTunes.cab is used during the installation process. iTunes uses advertised shortcuts ... so prior to launching the program, a check is run against the installation database in the iTunes.msi to make sure all the registry entries and files and whatnot that ought to be there on the PC are actually there. If some files/registry-entries/whatnot aren't there, iTunes does a repair install to replace them. Presumably, the damaged iTunes.cab is interfering with that process, causing the launch error message.
By way of reconnaisance ... try heading into your Add or remove Programs control poanel and attempting to uninstall iTunes. Do you get an error message? if so, what does it say? (Precise text please.)
If, on the other hand, iTunes does uninstall, try reinstalling it. Does that reinstall go through okay? if not, what error message do you get then?

ITunes download Error - AppleApplicationSupport.cab is corrupt!!??

I've just tried to download iTunes onto my computer from the Apple.com website - twice!
On both occasions, the download appeared to work fine but when I came to run the Exe. file I received an Error message which included the following:
..........AppleApplicationSupport.cab is corrupt and unusable..........
I repeated the process and the same error message appeared.
I've got a perfect internet connection for all other internet activities, am running Windows XP Professional (SP3) with full Norton 360 Anti-virus protection.
Can any of you experts out there provide me with advice of what I might do to be able to join the iTunes revolution please?

Excellent news. Glad you're up and running again.
(The theory with this one was, although you were getting an atypical error message for it, that the installer was getting damaged on the download. Firefox handles network connections different from other browsers, so sometimes we can get past the "damaging process" by using Firefox instead of IE, or, as in your case, IE or some other browser instead of Firefox if Firefox seems to be having trouble.)

I just got a new I Pod Nano (first time user) and I am trying to install itunes on Windows XP. Every time I try to install I get the message cabinet file itunes.cab is corrupt... I have tried downloading itunes again and it still comes up. Can anyone help me?

I was having the same problem that a lot of people are having after upgrading to 6.0 or whatever the new version is.
odd thing to say. why do you think there's a difference in the level of reports of launch failure problems with 6.0.5.20, by comparison with 6.0.4.2, 6.0.3.5, 6.0.2.23, 6.0.1.3, 6.0.0.18, 5.0.1.4, 5.0.0.35 or 4.9?

I can't finish the install of the new version of iTunes because of an error 1335. I tried downloading the install package a second time to see if maybe there was just a problem during the download, but no dice. Any ideas?

Exactly the same problem. error 1335 iTunes.cab is corrupted.
Solution: uninstall Quicktime and delete all the iTunes files that iTunes uninstaller fails to delete.
1. Control Panel -> Add/remove programs -> Quicktime -> uninstall
2. Rt click on START and select "Search...". Search for "iTunes". (include advanced: hidden and system files). Delete every file found except the Library ones and the folders.
3. Shutdown / Restart
4. Download iTunes 6 again. and Install.
I also downloaded an update to Windows Installer from the microsoft site again, as there was a problem with the version from SP2.

CS2-installing error "data1.cab" file corrupt

I have recently reformatted my C drive and reinstalling programs.
I tried to reinstall my CS2 Photoshop, but received error message that the "data1.cab" file was corrupt or missing. Could not install program.
I don't know how to fix. Could someone please help?

from a disc? try to copy the photoshop folder from the disc to the desktop, then run setup from there. however, you might have a bad drive or a bad disc. if the setup from the desktop fails, try installing on another machine. if it still fails, the disc probably has a problem. if that works, maybe your drive needs replacing.

Error 1335 iPod.cab is corrupt

When trying to install iTunes 6, I get the following error:
iTunes Error: Error 1335. The cabinet file 'iPod.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

I've attempted to download this installer mulitple times. I even tried downloading it from a seperate NIC since I saw one guy had an nvidia firewall issue. I am attempting to install it from my desktop folder and I'm also on the administrator profile on this PC. I'm running WinXP SP2. No firewalls up.
I've tried the Microsoft Cleanup utility, but itunes nor quicktime were listed. I've deleted all reg keys associated with apple. My system is totally void of all Apple related installations.
I tried to install the iPod software seperately and succeeded. If I hit retry a few times, the progress bar goes all the way across before I have to hit ignore. I then get a white x with a red circle saying Internal Error 2350. The installation rolls back and another message comes up.
Error: -1603 Fatal error during installation.
Consult Windows installer help (msi.chm) or MSDN for more information.
I'm at a loss.

I finally figured it out. All those temp directories in the other posts don't get down to the solutions.
First, I have a built in nvidia firewall on one of my nics. I switched nics and redownloaded the itunes installer. I then went to the properties of the installer.
If you look at the comments of the installer, you may see something like this:
Setup=iTunesSetup.exe
Silent=2
Path=.\%windir%\Downloaded Installations\{872653C6-5DDC-488B-B7C2-CF9E4D9335E5}
Overwrite=2
So, I went to my c:\windows\downloaded installations\ folder and deleted that folder that started with 872..
Since I did that, the installer went through like nothing else.
iTunes is now working and installing successfully. I hope this helps for anyone else.

Acrobat Standard 8 CAB File corrupted.

I tried to install Acrobat Standard 8 but, I received a message that the cab file is corrupted. Can anymore provide the site where I can get a copy of the CAB file.

If you purchased Acrobat on disk, that would be the place to look. You can call Customer Service to see if you can get a replacement disk. If you downloaded the original from the Adobe store, again Customer Service would be your only option.

"Quicktime.cab is corrupt"

I downloaded Quicktime 7 successfully, but it won't fully install. A message comes up saying, "cabinet file Quicktime.cab required for installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package". When I click Retry, the message is the same. When I click Ignore, I am given error code 2350. okay. let's try scraping away any existing QT program files and installation configuration information prior to the reinstall.
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. then use it to clear any existing QuickTime installation configuration information from your PC:

Next, we’ll manually remove leftover program files and folders.
1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
3. Open Program Files.
4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx.
7. Restart your computer.
download a fresh copy of the QT installer. (save it to your hard drive and run the install from there rather than running the install online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.

"AppleMobileDeviceHelper.cab is corrupt" when trying to install iTunes 7.7

I'm getting ready to purchase iPod Touch 2.0 software update. It requires iTunes 7.7 (and I'm running 7.6). I download 7.7.043 and when I install, it gives the message "Cabinet AppleMobileDeviceHelper.cab may be corrupt" so I cancel the install. I am running Windows XP, not Vista. I've had problems in the past with versions of iTunes and that is a big warning to me since I read on here that there have been a lot of problems with that particular file on Vista machines over the past few weeks. I guess Apple won't get my money for the purchase of the software upgrade until I can run a clean install of the new iTunes!

Sorry to say I am glad this is not just me. That is why I am here also. This just started the other day. I will post a fix if I find if off the board and hope you will do the same. Talk about chasing your tail. I can not delete the program no matter what I try. I was warned by a fella at the apple store that if you do get itunes up and running do not sync the ipod to the program like you normally do. You will lose everything. There is a faeture that will help you up load to itunes from you ipod. Be carefull.

You can try solution 6 and 7 in Error 1311, 1335, or 2350 "Source file not found...data1.cab" when installing Adobe products | Windows. Those solutions are aimed at the Windows Installer Service as being a possible cause. I do think it is more likely that the data1.cab file is corrupted but they are still worthwhile steps to try.
