Invalid Apple ID Password on iCloud

Downloaded and installed everything sucessfully this morning, iPhone 3GS working fine with iCloud (@me.com).  I also have my iTunes store ID (@gmail.com) working for Store.  iPad will not accept my Apple ID password for iCloud, says incorrect.  Store on iPad appears to be OK with gmail login.  Restoring iPad now, but any ideas?

Ok, so it is working now on both iPhone 3GS and iPad.  Backed up, restored iPad to factory settings and changed me.com account password.  gmail.com ID still tied to Store and iTunes on both.  Hope this helps others.......
And 4S will be here tomorrow, so hoping that goes smoothly.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

    Hi Friend,
    First, Where are you located and what country did you buy your phone?  Some countries have restricted facetime, ie middle east, UAE.
    Check if you signed in Facetime with your Apple ID and password (Settings>>Facetime).
    Check if you have signed iCloud in.
    Check that FaceTime is not disabled in general/restrictions. If that isn't the problem try changing dns servers on your iPad.
    Go to Contacts app and select the person you want call then tap Facetime.
    Change your address for your currently location. If not works, change it for your native country.
    If still not working, go to Settings -> General -> Date & Time -> Set Automatically: ON (Yes date time setting has been known to cause issue).

    I am trying to update an app on my iPhone 4s and when it asks me for my Apple ID Password it does not recognise my password! Also, the wrong Apple ID comes up (my recovery email) I have not changed my passwordband when I try to recover the password it does not recognise my security answers, date of birth etc which haven't changed! When I check in 'Settings' what my Apple ID is showing it is showing the right one but when I try to update the app the wrong ID is coming up! HELP :-)

    Ok, so it is working now on both iPhone 3GS and iPad.  Backed up, restored iPad to factory settings and changed me.com account password.  gmail.com ID still tied to Store and iTunes on both.  Hope this helps others.......

    I was using my iphone just like any normal day and out of blue it went off because I let the battery die
    it was 1% and I didn't put on charger, I forgot
    so I put it on charger just like any normal day and it charged for sometime then it started to turn on

    I pulled that slide button

    so I wrote my password then clicked next
    it got me to another screen saying "Updating iCloud settings...."
    then it kept loading and loading so I restarted my mobile then I did all the above steps again
    the next time it loaded fast and got me a new screen saying :
    Your iPhone is now set up.
    You're ready to start using the most advanced iOS ever
    Start using iphone
    and when I click on start using iphone, the iphone restarts itself and repeats the steps again !!!!!
    I've tried everything, restarting my iphone, doing the steps, respring, clicking on home and off button, EVERYTHING !!!!
    but it keeps redoing that stupid steps without any end
    please HELP ME!! I need my iphone back!!!

    weird, i would try to restore through iTunes and set up as new as a test.

    t get iCloud messages on my Apple iMac, iPhone or iPad2.  I dropped my original email account and went to gmail.  I changed my Apple ID to this gmail address on the Apple Store, etc.  I've also changed the Apple ID password a few times.  This worked fine until this week.  I believe I can get game messages (not sure all were delivered), but not iCloud messages.  It asks me for the iCloud password, which none work, and then goes back to my old

    Sounds like you did not delete the iCloud account on your device before you changed your ID. You will need to do the following:
    1.     Sign onto Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to the old ID (this is temporary - do not verify it, do not change the password): Apple - My Apple ID
    2.     Go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom to delete the account. Use your current password when asked, follow the prompts to complete the deletion
    3.     Go back into Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to the new ID (you may need to verify it again)
    4.     Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign onto iCloud with the new ID

    Try the following....
    Go to Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account.  Then log in using a different ID.

    If Settings>iCloud is showing your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    An update - it was just taking too long to copy all the data again to the phone so I stopped the copy. Then I was able to complete the setup of the phone and most of the data was there -- just not the music I had selected. Not a problem, at least I can make calls.
    Next step will be to update the phone again (when I've sufficiently recovered from my annoyance) and add the music I want.
    Otherwise, I'm okay with the interface. No big problems.

    Apps are always tied to the ID that was used to purchase them originally. Did you try entering your old password and see if that works?
    If you need to sign out of your old account go to Settings>Store>Tap on your ID and sign out. Sign in with the new one.
    you can also access your ID in the featured tab of the App Store. Swipe to the bottom of the screen and you will find it there as well.

    If two of you shared the same contacts you were logged in with the same Apple ID. In order to avoid this you need to use different Apple IDs, and be using separate Macs or separate user accounts on the same Mac.
    One or other of you should create a new Apple ID at http://appleid.apple.com for which you will need a non-Apple email address which hasn't been associated with another Apple ID.
