Invalid Asset Location

I'm new to the DPS and am working with updating another designer's files and moving them to my system. I understand that "invalid asset location" means that some link for some overlay is messed up. In my Links panel, everything is connected okay. Is there a way to "find" or "show" all overlays? I find myself just clicking on everything in the document to see if an overlay has been created--this is not working so well.
Thanks.

I have also encountered this when an asset was removed, but the overlay wasn't.
For example, setting a Pan & Zoom overlay on an image frame, deleting the image and attempting to upload to the cloud throws this error. Removing the overlay from the empty image frame seems to resolve the problem.

  • Scrollable Content article gets [Error: Invalid asset location]

I'm trying to create a wide scrollable content product timeline.
The Content  on the "Scrollable Content" layer is 3024x600
Content is grouped text and image boxes
Container frame on Layer 1 is 975x600
Both Content and Containerhave the same name and are aligned along the left edge
When I update the folio I get the following error:
    Content Generation Error
    [Error: Invalid asset location]
Trying to preview in the desktop viewer gets the same error.
Looking at the links tab, there are no missing or flagged files, and all the files exist within the article's links folder.
    What am I missing here?

looks like you are okay on the folio builder panel (first line)
but you are still on version 18 of the producer tools. make sure to have
the latest version of the folio producer tools (separate installer)
    installed. maybe uninstall previous version.

  • [Error: Invalid asset location]

what does that mean, and what i should do?

interesting lol well i guess its hard to debug if you needed to change it.
Personally i have only seen the error when i accidently moved an asset of an overlay or changed the folder name and forgot to relink it within overlay creator.
zhertlsh was your interactive content also in the form of a webview? Have you also checked to make sure you didn't accidentally move anything?

  • Content generation error. [Error: invalid asset]

I'm am trying to add an article to a Folio and am getting "Content generation error. [Error: invalid asset]. I have re-imported all of the files in the article. I'm stumped. Anyone have any ideas?

Hm. Might be that the two errors are of a different kind:
[Error: Invalid asset] vs. [Error: Invalid asset location].
I have an error with a simple image I want to use with "Pan and Zoom" ("Schwenken und Zoomen" in my German InDesign CS5.5 v7.5.2 on OSX 10.6.8).
The error message translates to "[Error: Invalid asset]":
After a bit of experimenting I think I know why there was an error.
My first attempt was on an TIFF image (=> ERROR), then I tried with a JPEG version (NO error).
Too bad Overlay Creator cannot detect wrong file formats for the given task.

  • Invalid Asset when updating an Article to iPad

Going through the learning curve of publishing to iPad and have successfully uploaded 2 basic articles to my iPad.
For some reason I am now getting an [Error:Invalid Assest] when building folio. I have a Pan and Zoom on an image but other than that they are just static with H and V layouts.
I was getting this earlier and deduced that it was a PSD image but have since changed to a JPEG and was working fine.
All I have done it rearrange the order of the 2 articles and the error is back. Cannot work out why. Have remove the Pan and Zoom entirely but still getting it.
The annoying thing is PreFlight doesn't flag anything and the Caution symbol gives no clues as to where the error is!
Very frustrating – any clues appreciated.

It's best if you recreate the page in InDesign. refer to http://help.adobe.com/en_US/digitalpubsuite/using/WS9293e1fb3b977c5c73657495129f66e490f-7f fe.html for Pan and Zoom overlays. The error might be related to you using PSD file originally. Also, have you moved any file locartion, if yes, refer to : http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/kb/error-invalid-asset-location-indesign.h tml

  • Invalid Configuration Location error on startup

I have just installed Flash Builder 4.5 on my Windows 7 Enterprise edition. I installed this using my username (not Administrator), which has local administrative rights. When I start the program, I'm getting the error
    Invalid Configuration Location
The configuration area at 'C:\Users\Administrator\Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\cascaded\308971\configuration' could not be created.  Please choose a writable location using the '-configuration' command line option.
    OK
Any reason for this error and what's the workaround?

    Hey there!
Found a woraround to your problem...
Go to your Flash Bulder install directory and then navigate to the eclipse folder (something like <FB_install_dir>\eclipse\...)
There you will find a config file with the following lines (at the end of the file):
    [email protected]/Documents/Adobe Flash Builder 4.5/cascaded/<build_number>/configuration
    osgi.shared.configuration.area=file\:configuration
    osgi.configuration.cascaded=true
What you do is simply remove them. Afterwords when you start the Flash Builder again you will be prompted to enter a new directory to your workspace and everything will run smothly after that.
    Cheers!

  • ORA-22275 :invalid LOB locator specified error while loading BLOBs/CLOBS.

    Hello All,
I am trying to load BLOB/CLOB data from a client oracle DB to the oracle db on our side,we are using ODI version 10.1.3.5.6,which reportedly has the issue of loading BLOB/CLOBS solved.I am using
The extraction fails in the loading stage when inserting data into the C$ table with the following error.
    "22275:99999 :java.sql.BatchUpdateException:ORA-22275:Invalid LOB locator specified".
Kindly let me know how I can resolve this issue as the requirement to load this data is very urgent.
    Thanks,
    John

One alternate way can be done out of ODI as ODI is still not able to resolve this issue. You can trim these fields (CLOB/BLOB) and push this data as separate fields into ODI and at the reporting end you can again concatenate them.
May be this may solve your problem ....it solved mine.

  • FLA to HTML5 invalid asset in InDesign Folio Builder?

    Hi,
So basically im trying to create a magazine getting ready to publish on an iPad.
I know animations are not supported on Ipad devices/software, So I looked at Terry Whites tutorial on basically how to still add animation
to a publication. I followed all the steps he took, though after ive placed the HTML5 file in my Indesign document and attempt to publish it, it says invalid asset in the folio builder.
I do not know what I am doing wrong. I am using InDesign CS6.
All the HTML is, is a image file flying in from the right. It works when I open the HTML in my browser.
Yet doesnt work when I try to publish it in folio builder.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
My first step, I placed the image, went to Animations and picked 'fly in from the right'
I then clicked on the image > file > export
I then coverted the file using Wallaby, which converted successfully.
I went back to InDesign and created a new document and made a rectangle using the Rectangle frame tool.
Then went to Folio Overlays > Web Content > Inserted/Opened the HTML file.
Then I went to Folio Builder and Made a new folio
(I have been told to set the default format to PNG, I did try that and it still did not work) > Then I clicked OK.
I then added the opened InDesign file to the folio.
    Then I clicked OK
It seems to always "get stuck" on Writing PNG.
    Then I get this error.
Dont know what Im doing wrong, So hopefully you may be able to tell me and help.
    Thank you!
