Invalid characteristics

Hi Experts,
One of my data target (cube) full load failed due to invalid characteristics, for this i accatable small letters in RSKC then again i ran the load same error occured, can any one give me solutiong.
My invalid characteristics is Zinos so in rskc i have given ZINOS. is this right?
David

Hi David
In RSKC you need to enter the 'value of the characteristics' in other words the special characters that you wish to consider as 'valid' during data upload in BI. You cannot give the Characteristic technical name in RSKC.
Enter  1234567890ÁÄÉÊÓÔÙÜß´+#-.,<>°!"§$%&/()=?`*'_:;²³{['FR}]!()  CAPITAL_ALL
Cheers

  • How to manage special, invalid characteristics

    Hi,
Whenever we face any invalid characteristics, special characteristics, How can we allow them apart from allowing them in RSKC. Is there any ABAP code to be performed to allow them. What is the maximum limit of chars allowed in RSKC.

    Hi,
I would prefer going to RSA1OLD then do the necessary changes to the PSA data and load the data again from PSA to data targets.
    Hope this helps.

  • Invalid Characteristics in Master data

    Hello All,
I have been getting invalid characteristcs errors for most of the master data's and therefore i have always been using RSKC for most of times, but whenever new master data records get updated, again i get Invalid chars error in the DTP.
My Client is Norwegian and they have gt a lot of characters/symbols on each Alpha + Numeric Keys.
I have thght of two options to solve this invalid chars error, once for all...!!!
    1) Install the Norways language in BI itself
    2) Write a routine in Transformations, (both in Attr and Text transformation mappings).
Can any help/suggest what shud be done in this regards. Or is their anything i shud to get the norwegian character .map
    Thanks

    Hi,
I am not sure whether you trie ALL_CAPITAL in RSKC or ALL_CAPITAL_PLUS_HEX.
These should cover all the languages and there special symbols...no matter from what key board is used.
There are some issues related to Turkish language I guess but still it should work for the nordic countries.
keep the alphabets in capitals and this settings should work or you can cjheck the option lowercase letters in the infoobject genral tab to keep the small case flowing into BW as well.
This you should do after you have installed norway language itself...I think you are getting this error because of the langugae not installed.
I am not sure whya norway based client has not installed norway language in BI system??
Did you checked if the language is installed or not??
    Thanks

  • How to delete PSA Invalid characteristics.

    Hi Gurus,
We set setting in info pcakge for Error handling .
Update Tab -->Error handling --> 3rd Option ,Valid record UPdate, reprotuing possible,
If Invalid data comes then how do we handle it.
    Please correct/confirm the steps:
We have kept setting in info package --> Update Tab -->Error handling --> 3rd Option ,Valid record UPdate, reprotuing possible, Terminate After No. Errors     50,000
    If error comes then ,
For BI 3.5 , we have to check in PSA tab and then need to see datasource with PSA showing red mark --> change PSA and then update manual immediately.
What is the procedure in BI 7 for this situation.
    Please reply in detail.
    Thanks will be rewarded.

  • Invalid character RSKC

    Hi,
I tried a load to BW from R/3 due to some invalid characteristics.I am not able to
add these special chsarateristics to rskc as it is already full. Can somebody
tell me how to extend the number of characters in RSks. Also can somebody
tell me about the relevent tables for  RSKC.

I think its not the correct way.
I suggest to set ALL_CAPITAL string in the RSKC to admit all character.
See this blog if you have some other doubts on that:

  • Unable to load the data from PSA to INFOCUBE

    Hi BI Experts, good afternoon.
I am loading 3 years data( Full load ) from R/3 to Infocube.
So loaded the data by monthwise. So i created 36 info packages.
Everything is fine. But i got a error in Jan 2005 and Mar 2005. It is the same error in both months. That is Caller 01and caller 02 errors( Means invalid characteristics are there PSA data )
So i deleted both PSA and Data target Requests and again i loaded the data only to PSA.
Here i got data in PSA without fail.
Then i tried to load the data from PSA to Infocube MANUALLY.
    But its not happening.
      One message came this
SID 60,758 is smaller than the compress SID of cube ZIC_C03; no        request booking.
Please give me the solution how to solve this problem.
      Thanks & Regards
         Anjali

    Hi Teja,
       Thanks for the good response.
How can i check whether it is already compressed or not?
      Pls give me the reply.
      Thanks

  • Dynamic load of images in to established Timeline effect

Is it possible to dynamicly load images in to an already
    established timeline effect?
    Steps I've done.
Stuffed a JPG in to the library by draging and dropping it in
    to the SWFs library.
Dropped the JPG on to the main stage
Right clicked the image then going down to Timeline effects
    and choosing an effect.
Completing any changes in effects dialogue box and then
    clicking OK.
Play the movie, and pat myself on the back that it worked.
So then, how can I get Actionscript to load an image
dynamically in to that same Timeline effect and have it do the
effect to that instead of the one found in the library?
I'm using Flash MX Professional 2004.

    hii
Can u mention the error message getting while the status become RED??
As what I understand, this may be the issue of invalid characteristics inPSA Data Records or also there may be records that does not support the lower case or upper case data.
So just check the data in PSA Level
    Thanks
    Neha

  • Getting Error while activating data in 0FI_GL_4 DSO level (SIDs)

    Hi
I have succesfully loaded data for the 0FI_GL_4 for two DSOs One is successful but for other DSO, it is failing on activation with the following errors: -
*Value '! OTS Harness' (hex. '210020004F005400530020004800610072006E006500730073') of characteristic 0POSTXT contains invalid characteristics
*Error when assigning SID: Action VAL_SID_CONVERT InfoObject 0POSTXT
    *Process 000266 returned with errors
I have the '!' as a permitted charcter in RSKC but, the text is starting with the char "!" that is why it is throwing an error.
Now how can I edit these records in PSA without effecting the first DSO which is successful.
    DSO settings:
    SID Generation --> During Activation.

    Hi,
    DSO1 - Successfully loaded and DSO2 - load failed.
One dso was loaded data and another got failed.
In such case try below method.
You can make request red at DSO1 and delete it.
Make failed request red at dso2 level.
Later delete the failed request from DSO2. this makes that as latest request not loaded to your dsos.
After that go to your PSA and open latest request which was not loaded to dso.
display latest request data from psa and find your wrong record based on filter on 0POSTXT.
Once you find wrong record, select record and edit and save it.
Again re run your dtp and activate dso data.
    Thanks

  • SQL Server 2008 R2 & 2008 R2 SP1 installation fails in Windows server 2012

    Hi All,
I have a strange issue here. I have a Windows server 2012 VM where i want to deploy SQL 2008 R2 Enterprise edition.
When i Run the setup every thing goes fine and during the installation wizard i get this error " The Folder path Program files contains  invalid characteristics. I get this error 3 - 4 times during the installation wizard and the installation fails.
Below is the screenshot for the same.
So i checked few articles regarding the compatibility issue and found the below article and upgraded my setup to SQL 2008 R2 SP1 using the below article.
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/petersad/archive/2011/07/13/how-to-slipstream-sql-server-2008-r2-and-a-sql-server-2008-r2-service-pack-1-sp1.aspx
Again i still see the same above errors and with that a new error related to a MOF File.
Below are the contents of the error logs. Can some one assist on this issue.

    Hi Alberto,
    Still the same issue.
I installed the SQL 2008 R2 without SP1 and changed the service accounts to system account and  repaired the .NET using the .NET Repair tool
Also changed the installation directory to D:\ Drive this time. Still same issue.

  • Report Painter Characteristic Ledger does not exist

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to create a report GRR1 and for Plan Budget Report in Rows i have given SALES, REVENUE,COST and TOTAL and when i have defined the Columns with period 1,2,3,4,5,6..12 I got the following message when executing the Report.
Characteristic Ledger does not exist and  Characteristic Record Type does not exist
    Characteristic Ledger does not exist
    Message no. GR655
    Diagnosis
The characteristic must (message type E) or should (message type W) be addressed in the report definition. This means that a set must/should exist for the characteristic in the definition of the report rows, report columns, or report selection.
For performance reasons, it is important that you limit the value ranges of those key fields located at the start of the database key as much as possible.
    Procedure
Define a set for this characteristic in the report.
    Note
In Controlling (Table CCSS), different characteristics (cost center, order, project, etc.) are portrayed internally with a common technical characteristic, "Object". In reports, either a specific characteristic such as cost center must be used, or the characteristic "Object" must be used directly. If this is not the case, an error message appears saying that the "Object" characteristic is missing.
Also i would like to know how do i define the selection criteria for executing the report
Please advice a solution for the same
    Regards
    Rahul

The reason could be having (1)  invalid characteristics value or (2) have not properly defined the General Data Section, most likely (1) in this case.
Either way, go to t-code GRR2 to change the report.
In the report row or column, is there an Element (the labels in red color) that does not make sense?
It could still have the correct label names, but double-click and go into "Record Types (from your error message)".  Be sure to have the correctly define values attached to each Characteristics.
If all above seems okay, try (From top bar, select) Edit --> General Data Section.  Think of this section as the "header data" of the report.
    Good luck

  • Logview of process chain

hi experts ,in my case on of the  process chain turns into red color ,due to invalid characters and showing the error that invalid characters ,so at that time ,i made corrections form the error stack and executes the error dtp,the load successfully loaded to target, and so process the data to downstream ,i have skipped that particular  process chain and the data loaded to downstream successfully but in that log view :::::::::lefthand side under the date it's in red color:::::::,even all the remain load is success, why any error i have done please tell me

    Hi Kumar,
    follow the below procedure.
1)create error DTP to your main DTP.
    2) Add this error after your main DTP in your process chain.
    3) When your main DTP failed with invalid characteristics error, just go and edit the records in PSA.
    4) come to PC and make your failed DTP(main DTP) step to green using below procedure.
    http://explore-sapbw.blogspot.com/2011/12/triggering-failed-process-chain-steps.html#axzz1k65Nk4tb
as your main DTP is green now it will trigger your DTP and it will load the modified records in PSA to target.
This way you can resolve the issue.

  • Error in 0MATERIAL

    Hi All,
When I am trying load Master data for 0MATERIAL for I am getting below error message.
Maintained RSKC (Invalid Characteristics) and OMSL (Material Length) Settings in BI.
      Diagnosis
        Data record 33 & with the key '103-001-00003  &' is invalid in value  '103-001-00003  &' of the attribute/characteristic 0MATERIAL &.
    System Response
The system has recognized that the value mentioned above is invalid, and has processed this general error message. A subsequent message may give  you more information on the error. This message refers to the same value, even though it does not state this explicitly.
    Procedure
If this message appears during a data load, maintain the attribute in the PSA maintenance screens. If this message appears in the master data  maintenance screens, leave the transaction and call it again. This allows you to maintain your master data.
    Please help me out
    Thanks in Advance
    Thanks,
    Chandu

    Hi Chandra,
    There are two problems hers
    1) Material length.
    2) Allowed character set.
    1) for material length, as it says it is more than the length specified. to check the length allowed, go to table 0MSL.
    2) for allowed character set, looks like '-' is not maintained. go to transaction RSKC and enter - . this will be added to the allowed set of characters.
    Hope this helps.
    Sri..

  • Delta error in PRD

    Hi
We are extracting the deltas into ODS from R/3. There was an error in extraction and activation into ODS didnt take place. The error is of invalid characteristics. The status is RED in monitor where as in data target--> manage the request is in green color but not active. I clicked on activate button and tried to activate manually but it was not getting activated.
    I did the following steps.
    1. In monitor screen, i converted the request into RED status.
    2. In data target, i deleted the request.
    3. Went to PSA, Manually changed the record and saved it. AFter changing the record the status in PSA is RED.
    4. From PSA i scheduled the upload into data target immedialtely.
    5. AFter scheduling, i could see the green request in datatarget with reporting icon. But the strange thing is in monitor screen the status [total] is in RED status and Technical is in GREEN status.
Q1. Now will delta takes place in next schedule, if tis in RED status?

    Rak

    Hi
ABY: If i repeat the delta, i will get the same error. Now i know what the error is and fixed up in PSA. We informed client and told them that it should not be done again.
Singh: After editing the record in PSA. i scheduled the upload and upload went fine in ODS. As i mentioned in the earlier thread.
In monitor screen the status is in RED where as in data target the request is in green status.
The editied record in PSA is In GREEN status,,,whereas total status is in RED.
What heppens if i turn that status into GREEN now? As i got the delta records into datatarget now.
    Regards
