Invalid ColorSpace Error from Browser Window

Hello,
I've seen lots of topics referencing this issue, but never anything concrete on what causes it and how it can be resolved. We have some PDFs on a website, that when clicked on and opened in the browser window throw a "There was an error processing the page. Invalid ColorSpace" error.
If the file is saved using "save as", and then opened in Acrobat Reader, the issue does not occur. This is v9.3.3.

I had the same problem with a PDF I had up on a web site. Turned out that the action I had in there (open at 75%) was the culprit. I removed that action and the error disappeared.

I have a pdf file I need to send out to members via a link in an email.
This file will not open using the link. The error message I get is:

What is wrong with this file? What can I do to make if accessible?

I have the same problem having received the Invalid Color Space error. It only happens intermittenly and usually goes away if I try again a few times to get the document to load.
I am running Adobe Reader 9.3.3 and Vista. I have two PDF files that occasionally give me the Invalid ColorSpace error message when bringing up a document on a weba site I maintain. One of our members had the same issue.
I un-installed and re-installed Adobe Reader and that seemed to diminish the frequency of error messages, changing them from all the time to about 1 in every 4 tries to open a pdf file.
Any ideas ? I see this problem is not new. Wonder why Adobe has not published a fix instead of saying-try this, try that ?

Launching Firefox this morning, it shows me an error message error "lanching browser window:no XBL binding for browser" and when I click OK, it closes.
Why this can happen (missing a file?) And what is the solution?

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

Need to Remove the tabs group Title from browser window title

When I use a saved tab group, which means I named that tab group in FF 5,''' the name of the tab group appears at the top of the browser along with the title of the web page I am viewing'''. Not good, I need to remove that tab group title from the browser window title, so I am only seeing the title of the webpage, and nothing from the tab group. How do I do that?

Mail flash from browser window

Hello,
My client, who produce aluminium framed houses, wanted his
potential customers to be able to do a basic design of their house
on the website. "No problem," I said! I shall be honest and state
that I have not used Flash before but spent a whole day going
through the Tutorials that come with it.
From this, I have created a page with lots of different sized
walls which people can drag on a graph paper background to show the
basic floor plan they would like to build. I now need them to
complete a form and email this plan to the client.
Can anyone tell me if one can save the layout from the
browser window and them mail it and, if so, an idea of how to do
this.

Hmm. I had a look at all 4 links to the sites you posted.
VERY COOL sites. I shall be watching this thread closely 'cause
this is what I'm trying to develop. I'm busy trying to re-design my
photography website in Flash and have the same problem... I cannot
get it to scale 100% of all browsers - only the resolution it was
designed at (in this case 1024x678. Even so, when I import the HTML
file from Flash to Dreamweaver, it has a invisible border of a cm
or so around the edge of the screen so the graphics don't extend to
100% of the browser.

Can't create PDF file from Browser Window

Hi, I used to use Acrobat extensively (but not recently) to create PDF files from various websites. Today when I tried to do it from IE and from Chrome I found out that the ability to do that is no longer there.
I cannot figure out why it disappeared nor how to fix the problem.
Does anyone have any insight to this?
I'm using Arobat X, version 10.1.5.

I am clueless as to where to start. Adobe PDF and Adope PDF Conversion Tool Bar are both enabled, but they do not appear. I can, however, print to PDF (thanks for the head's up). My browser of choice is IE9 ... I also have Chrome installed and I can print to PDF from it, too, but do not see any PDF extensions (if that is what Chrome calls them).
Given that I probably have upgraded IE someplace along the line (it just does it), is there a way to make that installed tool bar appear that you know of?

JVM is invalid after logoff from the windows

I have one problem using JNI inside C++. I create JVM inside C++ and launch the application as service, then I log out from windows and leave the process running. I found that the JVM is not valid after I log out although the process is still running. It gives 0xC0000005 access violation exception when any method on JVM is invoked. I tried to call AttachCurrentThread on the JVM, but it fails as well. It seems that the JNIEnv* is also corrupted.
Did anyone encounter the same problem?

Try reading the C source code of the following products that can launch Java applications as services and check what you've done wrong. It's good to learn from people that have had the same problems as you.
- Jakarta Apache Commons Daemon ( http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/daemon/ ) - it is used by Tomcat when running as a service.
- JavaService from Alexandria Software Consulting - recommended by JBoss if you want to run JBoss as a service.

When I launch firefox on my wife's computer it comes up "Error Launching Brouser window : no XBL Binding for browser". What does this mean? How do I fix it?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Eyedropper selection from browser reads as #fefefe and not #ffffff?

I've been able to in the past use the eyedroper tool to grab colors from browser windows and get the exact coded color if it's a css color. I'm using Photoshop cs5 on a mac with snow leopard. When I try to get any color from a browser window (both safari and firefox) photoshop will shift the color slightly. Anyone have any ideas as to why? Do I have setting that is wrong all of sudden?

One more question. If I use a third party app like xScope to get recoil or reading, it reads exactly the right color from the browser. Why does this app behave as expected and not photoshop? It seems that if the color is coded at #ff0000 it should read as that. Photoshop reads this as as #fe0000. Whereas, xScope reads it at #ff0000. Is there any way to change a display setting or photoshop setting to get this to work?

Oracle is supported on many different flavors and versions of Linux: This isn't one of them.
If the point is to learn Oracle then learn Oracle in a fully supported configuration.
Now, instead of learning Oracle, you are leaning what happens when people ignore Oracle's advice and go off making a mess of things on their own.
If you use a supported configuration you can just follow the docs and it installs properly.
If the goal is to become an Ubuntu expert keep following the path you are on. If the point is to learn Oracle I'd suggest a course correction.

Is a Windows registry error responsible for Firefox opening two browser windows whenever I use a hyperlink from a Word file?

Whenever I use a hyperlink from an MS Word document, Firefox opens two windows instead of one. The first window is the one I need. The second contains a message that the page could not be found and the address bar contains the URL appended with "Firefoxhtml/shell/open/command".
This problem is similar but NOT identical to one in MozillaZine headed "Windows error opening internet shortcut or local HTML file - Firefox". But none of the solutions in that article work for my problem: I've disabled all extensions but that hasn't helped. I've tried editing file types so that the DDE is removed (I'm not a teccie so have no idea what that means), but after following the instructions to the letter it doesn't seem to remove the DDE. Also I read that removing the DDE is not a good idea for people like me who need to open numerous firefox browser windows at one time. Furthermore, the MozzilaZine article refers only to problems opening a URL link in a MS Outlook email when Firefox is NOT running. My problem concerns the opening of URL links in MS Word when Firefox IS running!
I've run countless different virus programmes, rootkit checkers etc but they all come up blank. However, I did come across guidance on this website: http://antivirus.about.com/od/windowsbasics/a/shellopen.htm which suggests that something may have altered the shell open command for two registry keys used by Firefox.

I see that the number in my Adobe Account is a MAC serial number – I purchased both the Mac and Windows versions of the program. I tried to enter the serial number of the Windows version into my account and it says it’s already registered. onClick attribute for many images and text links on my site. Works
fine, UNTIL the page gets updated via a change on the main
template. Then the link gives me a javascript error. To fix I have
to pull up each page, open the behavior, OK to save and then resave
the page. No changes made, the code does not appear to change, but
then it works. As my site grows this is becoming more and more of a
nusiance to remeber to "fix" every page that has such behaviors on
it.
I have search the forum, but didn'[t come across a similiar
error. Has anyone seen this. Is there a fix

This means that your template does not contain the required
javascript for
the OpenBrowserWindow behavior in the head of the page. If it
did, then
every child page would contain the necessary code, and you
wouldn't have to
do the song and dance that you are doing.
Make sure it goes in a NON-EDITABLE region of the template
page.
The downside to this is that each page gets the code
(admittedly it's a
small bite) whether it needs it or not....
So - what you should do is open the particular page that has
just broken,
run through your procedure again (which writes the required
code into the
head of the page, and then copy that code (from
<script...> though
</script>), and paste it into the template page in the
same location. When
you save the template page, all child pages will be updated.
There's one nagging problem here, though. If the procedure
you describe is
working without error, then it is also true that DW is
writing that markup
into an EDITABLE region of the head of the page. If that's
the case, then
WHY IS A TEMPLATE UPDATE OVERWRITING THIS? I don't know -
would need to see
your page to know for sure....
