Invalid IMEI on my blackberry 8707v

Hi,
My service provider vodafone is not allowing me to call or receive a call on to my blackberry 8707v. My mails are working fine.
They say my model has invalid IMEI no.  which is ***************.
In INDIA this problem is with other non blackberry phone which are made in china. Hence they are importing new IMEI no in to them. But there is no facility for importing IMEI into blackberry.
Kindly advice what is the best way to get out of this problem.
Thanks in advance,
Homesh Joshi

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Sadly, your only path for resolving this remains with your carrier. Hopefully they will be willing to work with you and resolve it. But, there is no guarantee...and they are in complete control of the situation. I advise you work with them further and hope that they will be willing to help you out.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Nokia Lumia Wireless Charger - Invalid IMEI Number

I tried to claim my free wireless charger but it says invalid IMEI number and I have waited 2 weeks as I bought it on the 26th November

This is a user to user support forum. For something like this I suggest you contact Nokia directly using the "Nokia support" tab below.

    Hello there tamaddon,
It sound slike we need to troubleshoot no service to your phone here. We have a great article about troubleshooting what might be causing this, named iPhone: Troubleshooting No Service found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4429. The symptoms in the article are a bit different to what you are experiencing but the troubleshooting is valid.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Remove the SIM card and verify that it is a valid, carrier-manufactured SIM. Also verify that it is not damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.
Check for a carrier settings update. Tap Settings > General > About while connected to a Wi-Fi network. If an update is available, a prompt should appear soon. If Wi-Fi is not available, connect your device to iTunes.
Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
    Restore the iPhone.
If you're still experiencing No Service issues, contact your carrier to check for any network or account issues that could cause this issue.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • Invalid IMEI Number

Hello, For some reason, i am getting an Invalid IMEI number when trying to register the phone on the sony website. any suggestions on how this could have happened? i have had the phone for about 3 months now and the way i got my imei number is by typing *#06# in the phone. Thank you for your time.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
It sounds like you have entered something else then digits or wrong number of digits. The IMEI should be 15 digits. Depending on phone and where you check the IMEI you may see more then 15 digits, in that case, only enter the first 15 digits.

  • Lumia 620 Invalid IMEI

I purchased a Lumia 620 from O2 nearly 2 weeks ago and I've been trying to claim the free shell case via the nokia620freeshell site and it keeps coming back with an error message stating the IMEI code is invalid - apparently I'm not the only one this is happening to.
I've also just tried to use Live Chat here on the support pages and when I type in the code there it also comes back with an invalid IMEI.
    Any ideas what's going on?

I had the same issue when trying to claim mine as I purchased it on the 31st of January. Yesterday they made changes to the site and I was able to claim.
If it's still failing for you don't contact O2 as advised above, call this number instead: 0843 320 9406 If you aren't happy with what that person says to you ask to speak to their supervisor instead which is what I dad and got a call back from someone in the UK. The number they called me from was 0191 477 5187.
    Good luck!

  • How to register IMEI Number with BlackBerry

    Sir,
I want to register my new BlackBerry Mibile's IMEI Number with BlackBerry.

  • A808T Invalid IMEI

    Hi Folks,
I apologise because this is probably often asked, however I purchased a Lenovo A808T and a few days ago it arrived. When I started the phone, it worked fine but apps I removed would return upon restarting. I looked up on the internet and a couple of suggestions was to run a factory recovery which is what I did.
I followed the guide to the point, it was written in chinese and the phone restarted.
Upon restarting the handset came up with "Invalid IMEI".
I've tried everything I've found to fix the IMEI and I have contacted the seller who hasn't replied to my requests. Whilst searching since, it seems a common problem people experience but no matter what I try it doesn't resolve.
It does now state "Invalid IMEI - O2" since I followed one tutorial and checking it does seem to have a signal (which was always 0 before).
I've tried the terminal method, two different flashing IMEI apps and the unclemobile method via the engineer mode. Can anyone help me?
Perhaps I am doing something wrong.

  • Applications on for blackberry 8707v ( Adam's phone :p )

Ok first of all.. dont scream i know its a very very very old model ..
Anyways I brought it second hand from some dealer and have been able to install couple of apps like gtalk/gmail becoz i had their zip files.
But i see lotss apps on app world supported for 8707v. But the real problem is my phone does not support app world.
So although there are lotss app supported for 8707v but still i cant download them. Does anyone1 know any way to get apps for my phone.( specially whatsapp)
Dont ask me why i have this phone ..  i wanted a non camera phone urgently and got a deal for this one..
Don't ask me to google.. I've been doing that for some time ...

The 8707 has a scroll wheel, and doesn't have the operating system to support AppWorld.
So sorry, it won't work. There are newer models which support AppWorld, such as the 9700 or 8300 which has a non-camera version.
    System Requirements
To ensure that your BlackBerry smartphone will support BlackBerry App World, it must have the following:
BlackBerry App World 2.1 requires BlackBerry® Device Software v4.5 or higher. BlackBerry App World 3.1 requires BlackBerry® Device Software v5.0 or higher (Click "options", then "about" from your smartphone to check your version). Learn how to update your device software
A trackpad, trackball or touch screen
A service plan that includes access to the BlackBerry® Browser
View the list of countries in which BlackBerry App World is available

  • Invalid IMEI P780

    Hello,
I have a Lenovo P780 for 10 month now and I love the phone. The only issue was that the 2G reception wasn't good it fail a lot.
I google it and found I thought a solution. But when I used the uncletools trying to install a recovery something went wrong and after reset the Phone entered a bootloop.
I went to NeedRom.com to donwload the Rom I had P780_ROW_S116_130828.
I used a new version of SP Flash Tool and I didn't notice that the option that was selected was Format+download.
I didn't make any backup of my previous Rom.
Now I have the phone working but the IMEI information is gone, so I can't do phone calls.
I went throught the forum I found a solution but it needs the phone in meta mode. When I do that and connect the phone to the PC windows is trying to install a driver CDC Serial but always unsuccessfuly.
Can any one help me with a diferente metod to put the IMEI information or the driver for Windows 7 Pro 64 bits or Windows XP Pro SP3?
Also I only have an IMEI code on the phone and in the box. Do I put the same code in SIM1 and SIM2?
    Phone: Lenovo P780
    Andoid: 4.2.1
    Build number: P780_ROW_S124_140403
    Thanks and regards to everyone
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi
Let's first try the the easiest way to restore the IMEI.
You have to be rooted to do this. You can root your device using the latest Vroot version.
Install THIS > give the app root rights and follow the instructions from HERE.
    A quick instructions recap :
Open --> Engineer Mode --> Engineer Mode (MTK) -->Connectivity Tab -->CDS Information -->Radio Information
    - select Phone 1
    - you can see AT+ at the top
    - type AT+EGMR=1,7,"xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"(your 15-digit FIRST IMEI)
    - press "SEND AT COMMAND"
    - reboot your phone
    For the second IMEI
    - select Phone 2
    - type AT+EGMR=1,10,"xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"(your 15-digit SECOND IMEI)
    - reboot your phone
    *#06# to check imei
The IMEI should also be written on the phone under the battery.....If you don't find the second you can use the same for both sim cards(generally dose't create problems).
If this method dosen't work I will show you haw to ''invent'' an IMEI back-up...and restore that.
Let me know how it goes

  • E61i vs BlackBerry 8707v

Currently with Vodafone IRL and need to change to one of the above for business use (from a pretty good 6288). Can anyone comment either way, regarding the good or bad points of each. I am used to Nokia phones and menus etc etc and know that the Bluetooth connects fairly reliaby to connected devices, in this case the car 616. To me the BB 8707 is an unknown and is more expensive.
Any comments appreciated as I am totally new to this type of email pushing device.
My inclination is Nokia but welcome all comments.

BB is a different machine which also takes a lot of time getting use to. If you feel comfertable with the nokia then i say go for the E61i. I was in the same boat when choosing between the BB 8800 and the E61i, I looked at both phones and there options and nokia was the right choice. Don get me wrong the BB 8800 was good but the options the E61i had over the BB example camera and so on. It didnt take that much convincing for me. I use the BB application that comes with the E61i and it does the job for me.
They both have GPS navigation, but the BB downloads the maps for the country your are in for free, unlike the E61i you have to buy it. But thats not a major issue for me as i have a garmin GPS so its not a major issue for me.
I did like the BB but i have never bought one reason being if i didnt like it, its not a phone that can be sold easy as most people prefer Nokia or Sony ericsson.
They are both good machines, but at the end of the day buy the one that you feel is the right one for you, You will only know this by trying both in the shop, get them to start the machine for you, i am sure only then you will know which one you really want.
Hope this helps you make your choice

  • Japanese Input on a Blackberry in Germany

We got a 8707v working with Romaji input in the UK.  But the same package did not work in Germany or France on devices there.
We are with Vodafone.  We deleted the vendor.xml  before install but still not able to get this working.   Chinese and Korean work fine.
What is it in the Device.xml or CJK.alx files or elsewhere that might make this firmware UK specific or prevent the Romaji methiod from working? All the .cod files referenced in the Romaji method section of the CJK.alx have loaded on the device and I gave them all full permissions.  I choose Japanese input on the device but it does not work.

I have tried firmware from all over the latest was: Software For BlackBerry 8707v (TM) BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.2.2.342 (Chinese)

    Hi,
We use at our firm 8707V and I downloaded the same firmware for Japanese Character Support.
We also have offices across in European town such as Frankfurt and Paris.
We did try number of devices to achive the Japanese Character Support, however none from European 8707 devices works.
What we found is that 8707 model with only QWERTY model works with the firmware but not with any other K/B such one you can obtain in German and France.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    Refer:
Article ID: KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after buying a previously owned BlackBerry smartphone
All of those Seller steps, of course, should be done before the device is delivered to the buyer. After that point, there is nothing you can do, unless you happened (still before) to have installed BB Protect onto the device, in which case you could use the tools it has to perhaps wipe it now.
All in all, this is a difficult lesson for you to learn...giving away personal information is something that no one should ever do, and yet exactly what you did do.
