Invalid multimedia access point. Check multimedia ...

I keep getting the error message "Invalid multimedia access point. Check multimedia settings." from time to time ever since I setup my 3G.
Any thought?

Change it to the correct one from: Messaging | Options | Settings | Multimedia message | Access point in use (the correct access point from your network probably has "MMS" in the name).
If the correct access point settings are not on your phone, you can try: menu | Tools | Utilities | Sett.wizard

  • Invalid multimedia access point

The other day out of the blue my phone displayed the following message. "Invalid multimedia access point. Check multimedia settings".Now I get this message each time my phone reboots. I've deleted all my MMS settings and had them resent from my provider. Everything works fine and I can send/recieve mms sms etc with no problem at all so why do i get this message when I start up the phone. Any ideas gratefully accepted.

Ok seems to have cleared itself now.
Seems I had an MMS on the provider that was stuck. Now the MMS made its way onto my phone the error message stopped.
Delete your MMS settings and re install them.
Now be patient for the message to come through.
This is what I did and it cleared itself.
    Good luck

  • Invalid multimedia settings 6233

I managed to sort out Emails on my 6233 but now cannot send MMS messages (i can receive them), ive changed something but cant figure out what! it just says "invalid multimedia settings, check settings"

There is a setting wrong in the backup you transferred over.
Go through the settings and double check everything with the manual or documentation from your provider.

I have a Canon MX882 printer and more often than note get an error message that says "Printer not Connected." When I check the printer itself, I get confirmation that the access point is connected. I tried reloading the software and that seemed to have solved the problem for awhile but I'm experiencing the same problem. Any ideas what is causing this?

Did you delete all receipts with iDVD in the file name  with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/  folder before installing the new copy?  If not then do so and delete the new application also.

    Hi Cyril,
    The problem here is that the AP that you received is an LWAPP or Lightweight AP which will only work with the WLC/Unified solution. This is referenced in your first show-ver by these comments;
    AIR-LAP1242AG-E-K9
    LWAPP Image Version 3.0.51.0
You will need to convert the AP back to Autonomous mode. This is most possible
Here is the related info :)
Using a TFTP Server to Return to a Previous Release
Note This section does not apply to Cisco C3201WMIC and Cisco C3201LAP.
Follow these steps to revert from LWAPP mode to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS release using a TFTP server:
Step 1 The static IP address of the PC on which your TFTP server software runs should be between 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.30.
Step 2 Make sure that the PC contains the access point image file (such as c1200-k9w7-tar.122-15.JA.tar for a 1200 series access point) in the TFTP server folder and that the TFTP server is activated.
Step 3 On the PC where the TFTP server is located, perform these steps:
    a. Disable any software firewall products, such as Windows firewall, ZoneAlarm firewall, McAffee firewall, or others.
    b. Ensure all Windows files are visible. From Windows Explorer, click Tools > Folder Options > View > Show hidden files and folders.
Step 4 Rename the access point image file in the TFTP server folder to c1200-k9w7-tar.default for a 1200 series access point, c1130-k9w7-tar.default for an 1130 series access point, c1240-k9w7-tar.default for a 1240 series access point, and c1250-k9w7-tar.default for a 1250 series access point.
Step 5 Connect the PC to the access point using a Category 5 (CAT5) Ethernet cable.
Step 6 Disconnect power from the access point.
Step 7 Press and hold MODE while you reconnect power to the access point.
Step 8 Hold the MODE button until the status LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds) and then release.
Step 9 Wait until the access point reboots, as indicated by all LEDs turning green followed by the Status LED blinking green.
Step 10 After the access point reboots, reconfigure it using the GUI or the CLI.

  • Which access point do i use????

ok then i know how to access the internet and live messenger when i am at home as i use my bt homehub as the access point.
but when i am away from home i dont know which access point to choose, these are the options i get -
    02 MMS
    02 MOBILE WEB
    O2 PRE PAY MMS
    O2 PRE PAY WAP
    O2 WAP GPRS
    O2 WAP GPRS STREAM
I am on o2 pay as you go. i think i managed to access it the other by accessing pre pay mms, but it used nearly £5-00 credit in just a few minutes.
I really need to be able to acces the internet away from home, to use live messenger and also the pre installed satnav, as it always gives the message no route found, must connect to the internet to plan route

Those with "MMS" are for sending and receiving multimedia messages (MMS = Multimedia Messaging Service).
Those with "WAP" are for "Wireless Application Protocol" and the connection go through the network operator's WAP gateways, which may limit what protocols are passed through and they might also do something to the content.
So, for regular Internet access, without knowing O2, the "O2 MOBILE WEB" is most likely to give to a straight-forward, pure Internet connection. No idea what kind of rates O2 will charge, though. Call them and ask, or check their web site.

  • Invalid memory access of location error when exporting for iOS

I have been recently been asked to convert a flash application for us on the iPad. When I try to publish the .ipa file I end up with the following error:
Invalid memory access of location 0xceip=0x55492db4
I have no idea what might cause this and my google search of the error message has come up pretty empty. If I remove the document class and republish it works fine so I know it has something to do with my code but I haven't the slightest idea where to start looking so I was hoping someone else had run into a similar error and could point me in the right direction.
    thanks so much
    -Ryan

I managed to figure this out through laborious guess and check. Just thought I would share the bug in case anyone else ever runs into it.
A third party library I was using wrote try catch statements wrong:
    try{
    catch(Error:*){
No idea why the original author did it like this, probably meant to write "error:*" and didn't release shift fast enough after the "(" but as you might suspect "Error" is a reserved object name to cannot be declared as a paramenter variable
    when replaced with:
    try{
    catch(error:Error){
the memory access bug went away. What is strange is that the incorrect try/catch statement works just fine when published to swf, air, or android and is only an issue with the iOS converter, and obviously produces a very cryptic error.
I was using CS5.5 so maybe this has been fixed (if not I would suggest making this a compile time error) but just thought I would post my findings.

  • "No access point defined. Define one in Connection...

Hello, I have my Nokia N* for about two years now. I would always send MMS , but now I can't. This is the first time I am trying to send an MMS on Symbian Anna despite the fact of updating it months ago.
    This is what happens:
    1. I try to send a picture via SMS... which of course then becomes an MMS.
    2. "No valid access point defined. Define one now?
    3. I click YES
4."No access point defined. Define one in Connection settings."   and the message dissapears. I then go to-->
    5. TOOLS>SETTINGS>CONNECTIVITY>SETTINGS>NETWORK DESTINATIONS
    6. There are 6 Internet Access Points and 4 WAP Access Points ( I added 5 Internet ones trying to figure this out and 3 wap ones trying to figure this out)
    MY SETTINGS:
    TOOLS>SETTINGS>CONNECTIVITY>SETTINGS
    1. MOBILE DATA: On
    2. ALLOW MOBILE DATA USAGE: Worldwide
    MESSAGES>SETTINGS
    1. MMS creation Mode: FREE
2.ACCESS POINT IN USE (WITH A GREEN STAR): MMS send
    3.MULTIMEDIA RETREIVAL: Always automatic
    Please help me!  =]

I called my provider "TIM" and they have no idea what I am talking about when I asked them to please send me a new Access Point setting for MMS. Why was this working perfectly before Anna>? and now not? My provider is the same.

  • E65 access point priority

    Hi guys!
I would like to share with u my following experience. On my e65, there are 2 ap's defined, one for mobile internet and one for multimedia messages. everything is fine so far.
recently i started experimenting voip on e65 over 3g. my sip profile sais always register. therefore, my mobile internet ap is always connected. when trying to send or receive a mms message, the multimedia ap cannot connect due to the mobile internet ap already connected.
is there any way to set ap priorities in order to drop the mobile internet ap connection automatically when the multimedia ap is trying to connect and keep it dropped as long as the multimedia connection is on?
more than that, the phone asks me to drop the mobile internet connection in order to send the message, but unfortunatelly it is brought up again by the sip profile way before the multimedia ap trys to connect. therefore, i cannot send mms's unless i disable the sip auto registration.
any ideas are welcome. if there is no solution, maybe nokia should take this into consideration as a feature in a new software release.
by the way... happy new year to everybody!

In Wireless LAN Controller release 5.0 and later, the controller supports the use of Telnet or Secure Shell (SSH) protocols to troubleshoot lightweight access points. You can use these protocols in order to make debugging easier, especially when the access point is unable to connect to the controller. You can configure Telnet and SSH support only through the controller CLI.
In order to enable Telnet or SSH connectivity on an access point, use the config ap {telnet | ssh} command. The Cisco lightweight access point associates with this Cisco Wireless LAN controller for all network operation and in the event of a hardware reset.
    config ap {telnet | ssh} {enable | disable} Cisco_AP
    Examples
    > config ap telnet enable cisco_ap1
    > config ap telnet disable cisco_ap1
    > config ap ssh enable cisco_ap2
    > config ap ssh disable cisco_ap2

    Hi,
Has anyone else had problems with applications locking up while using 'Automatic Retirieval' through 'Access Point Groups' on a wireless network?
My phone works fine in every other respect but as soon as I schedule it to access my email account (not BB) I invariably get one of the following instabilities:

It'll collect emails at the set intervals for a while & then lock up either the:
    • Email application,
    • All internet applications,
    • The 'Email key' (but the application is still accessible via the icons).
    • or the Email Key loses its settings: ‘Item no longer available. Restoring default multimedia key’
I can manually collect email & use the web through the same ‘Access Point Group’ & I have two other computers running off this wireless network fine?

  • 301 access point configuration

In Nokia manuals I found no information about access point configuration.
In my 301 I have two “path”.
    1). at configuration/data communication/access point.  There I see 10 access point configuration.
2). at configuration/personal configuration.  There I can create detailed “personal” configurations and later can use it as active.
Question #1: what is the priority between 1 and 2? I mean 2 overwrite 1 or this two have coexistence?
Question #2: At personal configuration I can assign a flowing type of “subconfiguration”:  “Web”, “Multimedia”, ” Continuous download”, “Access Point”. What is scope of each subconfiguration? I mean for example “Web” and “Access Point” is not a same?
Question #3: There is any useful manual about 301 access point configuration?
    Thanks for any advice…

    kzsolt wrote:

None. That first path you mentioned, that ‘active access point’ is just for computer tethering …
    kzsolt wrote:

Can be. ‘Access Point’ is the preferred access point which your Nokia uses for all its built-in apps. With ‘Web’ you can override that for HTTP(S) based apps because some operators did have WAP proxies in the past. Nowadays, with modern contracts, you just create one Access Point account, there you specify the APN. And then you create a Web account and leave it at its defaults.
    kzsolt wrote:

Not aware of. This concept was introduced in 2004 and I never met anyone at Nokia who understood that concept. Therefore, Nokia has problems to explain it. Actually, the software engineer who created it in 2003/2004 did not understand it either because, from the user interface, it is not possible to create a WAP proxy for an ‘Access Point’ which left many users in the dark …
Therefore, if you have a question, just ask us, please. Did that help?

  • Can't HP Officejet pro 8100 do wifi access point?

Yesterday my HP Officejet pro 8100 arrived and I try to connect via wifi. I thinked that It need a infrastructure access point to print via wifi.
When I powered on the printer I osserved that It create an access point autonomously with SSID: HP-Setup-7A-Officejet Pro, with IPv4 address server, etc...
I was very happy and I printed a page with my smartphone samsung s4 connected directly with printer access point (not wifi direct but standard wifi).
Today no changed occurred but I can't use printer with its own access point, but only with an external wifi access point.
Someone can help me, please? It could be an hardware problem?
    Thanks,
    Luca
P.S. in web server I checked that "access point connectivity" (Punto di accesso wireless connettività in Italian) is checked.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hello lucait
To print via WiFi you need to have a wireless router setup. Once you have the wireless router setup correctly you will have a SSID and Wepkey that will enable you to add devices to your network. The network will allow all your devices to communicate not just with each other but with the internet. At the moment your printer was not put in a network so instead of broadcasting on a network it is broadcasting on it's own network called HP-Setup-7A-Officejet Pro which is only good for a short period of time to allow you to setup your wireless. I am going to assume you have a wireless network and you are just needing assistance getting the printer setup on that network.
To set your printer up on a network you will need to reset your network defaults so your printer begins to broadcast that HP-Setup-7A-Officejet Pro network again. You can do this buy following the steps on the HP Support document Resetting the Network Settings. Once you have done this you can begin to install the software that came with your printer on your computer. You want to set the printer up wirelessly when the option arrives. The software should configure your printers wireless for you and put it on the network. Once completed you should be able to access your printer from all your devices as long as they are on the network.
I hope this helps resolve your wireless issue. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • New wireless network with several access points

    Hi,
We are planing to deploy a wireless network that will cover two floors consisting of about 5 or 6 Access points. It should have 2 or 3 SSID (placing the clients in 2 or 3 different VLANS).
What would be the best solution for this?
I read a lot about wireless controllers. What about an option to just buy standalone access points? Are they all configured to work with the same SSID's and on the same channel?

A centralized controller should make your life easier:
    - Centralized config - set up everything on the controller and it gets applied to the AP's.
    - Centralized monitoring - when someone has a problem, you can check the controller instead of having to figure out the AP to which they are connecting (computers don't always connect to the closest AP)
    - Dumb AP's - if someone steals one of your APs, they will not be able to learn much about your network from a lightweight AP
    - Radio Resource Management - let the controller make the channel and power setting decisions for you
    - If you use PoE, you may never have to get on a ladder and use the console port of a lightweight AP. The AP is managed by the controller, and for the rare occasion that you can't get an AP to respond - just cycle the power to the AP via the switch port.
    There are some downsides:
    - Cost of the controller (since you're buying AP's one way or the other)
    - Most cost: If your wireless network is important, then you typically want a second wireless controller as a backup
    - Probably more downsides, but my brain hurts today

  • When using EA6400 as an access point only, certain features lost

I've set up my EA6400 and have it connected to my Verizon MW424WR(Gigabit) and it works fine as an access point and the Twonky Server uses the USB drive I have attached to the router's USB port. Problems:
1)I can not use the linksyssmartwifi link for management, I have to use the IP(set for 192.168.1.50) for this. When trying to register/login, the Linksys end is trying to find a Linksys router but can not and will not allow any action.
2)Although Twonky will use the attached HD, I can not share the device over the home (Windows) network. I've tried various incantations of the IP \\192.168.1.50\(whatever share name I can think of) with no avail.
3)Using the Linksys admin, the Device List is incomplete. Devices connected wirelessly  such as my iPod, Roku, Sony Media Player and WD HD TV Live do not show as wirelessly connected and do not have an IP listed.
4)Is there any point in using the Media Prioritization settings since no routing is done by an access point. Or will it actually prioritize the wireless connection.
BTW, the Verizon router can not be set in bridge mode so I have to use the router as an access point to accomplish what I wish.
    TIA,
    Randy

Some applications and router features require the use of the WAN port. If the router is set up for LAN to LAN AP mode only, then those features won't work in this mode. Only Router mode.
If the ISP modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems: Link>http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/fixing_double_nat.htm and http://computer.howstuffworks.com/nat.htm If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ. Then connect the router in router mode using the WAN port to the ISP modem, then features and apps should work.
