Invalid or no mapping to system data types found.

Hello Netweaver gurus.
One of my client faces this issue. Has anybody come across similar error types ?
Regards,
Nitin Koushik

Hello Nitin,
In my opinion the error is because you would not be using an appropriate Entity to perform respective operation and can also be due to invalid mapping e.g. NUMC to Edm.Decimal
Lets say you have an Entity 'A' to Update a media content to BE. You can use the same Entity 'A' to Read the updated media content as well.
Leta say now you want to Read set of data from BE ( Not a Media content )
You cannot use the Entity 'A' to perform this. You need to have a different Entity which will get the info needed from BE.
Even if you forcefully try to map the response in code level, you will get the error ' Invalid or no mapping to system data types found '. This is because Entity 'A' would have got the special semantics to Read the media content not the set of data.
Kindly check this and also the Types , Type Lengths , No of Decimal Places etc...used in Model

Ashwin

    Hi Peter,
Good to know that it helped you.
Problem i am having is I dont have this method "SET_AS_CONTENT_TYPE( )" in class "/IWBEP/IF_MGW_ODATA_PROPERTY" because of my SAP Gateway system SP release level is less.
So i wasn't able to use this snippet.
    IF lo_entity is BOUND.
      lo_property = lo_entity->GET_PROPERTY( IV_PROPERTY_NAME = 'ContentType' ).
      lo_property->SET_AS_CONTENT_TYPE( ).

  • Mapping Float with data type Qty or Curr or INT4

    Hi,
We are extracting the data from a table. Some fields are defined as Float but at trasfer rules we have mapped those Key figures with Quantity or Currency or INT4 .
In transfer rules there is only info object mapping. But when extracting the data we are not getting any data even In PSA for those fields.
Please suggest should we change the data type or any changes
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Can you provide some more inputs.
have you mapped with Standard Fields.

  • Mapping Values to Data Type Enhancements in XI

I want to a map values from a source XML to a target XML but the target fields are data type enhancements and not that of the standard one. The target message is the message of a predilevered interface of SAP for the SNC product. We did some enhancements to a particular data type. The enhancement was done in a different SCV and points to the datatype in a different SCV. Now, the mapping is in another different SCV (since the SCV for the SNC content of XI cannot be edited). When I was trying to map the values to the data type enhancement in the message mapping, the enhanced/additional fields are not there.
How would I be able to map the values to the additional fields? Thanks in advance!

The Integration Builder does not recognize changes to software component versions that have already been imported. Therefore, if you want to define dependencies between imported software component versions at a later date, you have to import the superordinate software component versions into the Integration Builder again. You will not lose objects that have already been created.
Not sure but this might help.
    Thanks,

  • ABAP Data type to XI data type mapping

    Hi,
I am creating a message type in XI corresponding to a ABAP structure. There are couple of data types on the ABAP side (for example: RAW, QUAN, CURR CUKY, UNIT, NUMC etc) which i have no idea on what it should be mapped to on the XI side(xsd:string, xsd:token, xsd:int etc).
Is there is any document on mapping from ABAP data type to XML data type ? if yes please send it across.([email protected])
if no doc available, if some body could let me know what these ABAP data type would map on the XI side it would great.
    Best Regards,
    Kiran

    Hi Kiran,
just some more background information to the data types CURR, CUKY, QUAN, UNIT:
    1) Each field of data type CURR must be assigned to a field of data type CUKY (the financial amount must be assigned to a currency) and each field of data type QUAN must be assigned to a field of data type UNIT (each quantity must have a dimension). If you want to know this assignment for your specific ABAP structure, you can find it using transaction SE11 with your ABAP structure and go to the tab <i>Currency/Quantity fields</i>. Here you find the information under <i>Reference table</i> and <i>Ref. field</i>.
    2) The default number of decimals for a field of data type CURR is 2, but this can be overwritten by the assigned CUKY field. You can check the actual number of decimals for a specific currency with transaction OY04. Here are all currency list that do <b>not</b> have 2 decimals.
    3) The default number of decimals for a field of data type QUAN is 3, but this can be overwritten by the assigned UNIT field. You can check the actual number of decimals for a specific unit with transaction CUNI. Click on <i>Units of measurement</i> (pick the correct dimension first), double click on your unit and you find the info in the field <i>Decimal places</i>.
    4) Depending on the data you receive your conversions can get quite tricky. Lets take as an example a field of type CURR. If you find the value 1000 in there, this would convert to 10.00 USD if the assigned CUKY field contains the value USD (US dollar). But the same value ca represent 1000 JPY (Japanese Yen) if the assigned CUKY field contains the value JPY. What i try to say is that the value in the field of type CURR alone does not give you the actual amount, you have to know the value of the CUKY field as well. Similar for QUAN and UNIT.

  • Mapping SQL data types (especially SMALLINT) to Java classes

I want to know the reason for a certain pair of exceptions in JDBCs mapping of SQL data types to Java classes.
Suns web site ( http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/jdbc/getstart/mapping.html ), Sybases site, and other sites contain mappings from SQL data types to Java primitive data types and/or Java classes. On that Sun web page, Section 9.9.1 maps mostly to Java primitive data types, and Section 9.9.3 maps mostly to Java classes. For the SQL data types that map to both primitive data types and classes, the class is typically the wrapper class of the primitive data type. For example, SQLs DOUBLE data type maps to both the double primitive data type and its wrapper class (Double). However, Section 9.7 of that Sun web page says that there are exceptions for SQLs TINYINT and SMALLINT. As expected, they map to the byte and short primitive data types, but they map to the Integer class, not the Byte and Short classes (which are the wrapper classes for byte and short). The web page does not state the reason for this pair of exceptions. It seems to me that SMALLINT data would either work for both short and Short or fail for both short and Short. I dont see why it would work for short but fail for Short (as the web page implies).
Can anybody think of a reason for the pair of exceptions? Thanks.

    ghs wrote:
    1) If a DBMS deals with the short and byte primitive data types (as the various web pages imply that it does), then why would it not deal with the Short and Byte wrapper classes? As another guess, because conversions get a little weird in java. Or at least they did in the past. As I recall (with not a lot of clarity) it is possible to do something like pass a perfectly valid string value into a short and get an exception. Whereas using Integer and then converting to Short works.
Keep in mind that these are guesses.
    3) What I really want to know is this: If I use wrapper classes of Short and Byte (instead of Integer), what will be the harmful consequences (IF ANY)? So far, I have done some trivial testing with a Short for a SMALLINT column (I have not yet tried any TINYINT columns), and it seems to be working.I considered it risky to not test all target databases and drivers.
    Obviously testing will reveal problems.
If you don't want to test then you might want to stick with integers.

  • EJB/SQL data type mapping

Is there a way to define the mapping between SQL data types and the generated Entity bean data types.
(SQL server tiny int is getting mapped to a boolean!!! so I want to change it to a small, is there anything in the EJB 2.0 specification that defines the mapping between DB and EJB types).
    thx,
    sanjay.

I haven't done any bottom up beans but I would imagine there is an equivalent way you can change the mapping to change the data type when the bean is created. You may just have to change the datatype on the imported db schema before you generate the beans. You will also need to check that your jdbc driver supports transformation between tinyint and small.

  • I cant find(map) some data types

    Hello!
I am doing some test using a Access and SQL Server databases in order to do the mapping of the data types that is offered using the "sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver" ,I am using jdk1.3 I have not downloaded any other driver .
The thing is that I an MS ACCESS table that I have
    Memo Field
    OleObject Field
    Text Field
    DateTime Field
    Currency Field
When I get thet metadata for that table and aquire the java.sql.Types for the Memo and OleObject Aceess Types I get LONGCHAR and LONGBINARY Java.sql.Types....but I can not find them in the Java API documentation!!!! Are they the same with LONGVARCHAR and LONGVARBINARY that are reffered in the Java API ?
    Am in loosing somthing here?
    Thanks in advance

They are one and same. Have a look at, http://www.i-mech.com/docs/jdbc/tbl_21_7.html

  • Crystal reports converting varchar 254 to memo data type

    Hi All,
We are still using Seagate Crystal Reports 7.5 for some of our reporting. I have a problem that hopefully someone can help with. One of our connections is to ODBC- AR System ODBC Data Source.
In that data source there are fields defined as varchar 254 (confirmed by DBA),
But Seagate is calling them memo fields- which is causing problems since you canu2019t use memos in selection criteria or formulas.
This happened after the field names were renamed. I noticed when the newly named fields were not showing as an option to map the old name fields to- because by default it looks for same data type, after unchecking same data type option the fields showed for mapping but wrong data type makes them useless. I canu2019t even convert them to string with formula field.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks-

    Hi,
Yup, this was a problem with versions prior to 10.  If a field was longer than 254 characters, Crystal handled them like Memos and you cannot use them in formulas.
The only suggestion I can offer would be to upgrade.  Crystal can now use memos in formulas and no longer has a 254 character limit on strings.  So your charcter fields will remain as charater and not changed to Memos.
    Good luck,
    Brian

  • 4.0 EA1 - Data Modeler does not show columns data types correctly

Data Modeler shows all columns data types as 'unknown'.

    Hi,
you need to check "system data types" directory and it contents. Its default location in SQL Developer is sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\extensions\oracle.datamodeler\types
Check "Preferences>Data Modeler>Default system data types directory" setting. If it's empty then copy defaultdomains.xml from previous installation to directory above.
If it's not empty then you need to copy types.xml and defaultRDBMSSites.xml from default location to directory set as "Default system data types directory".

  • How to pick up system date

I need to keep the cash balance based on date. For this purpose I need to assign system date to 0calday. Can anyone tell me how to map the system date to 0calday? Is there any field available in BW that stores the system date?
    Thanks
    Venu

    Hi Venu
Go to your update rule..and chose time ref tab
You can either create a routine and write
    Result = sy-datum
or you can create formula and use SYST-DATUM from there
    hope this will help

  • What replaces System.Data ?

Have a c# project written in 2009, trying to bring into the windows store universal app (windows 8.1 VS 2013, c#).  The old project has references to Microsoft.sql.server.types (SurveySegments), and System.Data.  Was getting errors - Error 1 Cannot
find type System.SystemException in module mscorlib.dll.
that led me to this link...https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/windowsapps/en-us/eac6e48e-ff8a-46b4-9482-04cba37245be/systemdatadll-error.
This says "System.Data not found in windows store. you should do database proccess with WebServices in windows store".
Has this been address in any new dll's?
    How to fix this?

    Hi mobilelou,
Sorry for a late response, base on the documentation:
Microsoft.SqlServer.Types, the namespace is not intended to be used in your code.
Besides if you need to know how to work with SQLite, you may ref to some documentation:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/robertgreen/archive/2012/11/13/using-sqlite-in-windows-store-apps.aspx also

  • Invalid data type conversions

what are the invalid data type conversions in ABAP ???
Moderator message: please search for available information/documentation.
Edited by: Thomas Zloch on Mar 10, 2012 6:01 PM

    No Amanda,
The values that I see in message monitor are also those that comes to XSLT programs as input.
I investigated our problem a little further myself:
    1) XI always converts messages into XML format - this everybody knows.
    2) In XI documentation it is declared that XI uses ISO 8601 for DATE type formatting. That's why you see dates in format YYYY-MM-DD in XML data in message monitoring.
    3) The appearance of those decimal values are not that obvious for me. If XI uses ABAP transformation for message content then applies the rules for converting ABAP data types into XML. For this there is a SAP document 'ABAP - XML mapping' from TechEd2004. This document seems to describe how ABAP data types are handled by XML transformation.
Anyway, we currently need to play with decimal values in XSLT mapping programs inside XI:
    a) add leading 0 integer if source value < 1
RFC returns 0.123 -> XI converts to XML '.123' -> XSLT mapper should return '0.123' ->SOAP response returns '0.123'
    b) add decimal point and trailing zeros
RFC returns 0.000 -> XI converts to XML '0' -> XSLT mapper should return '0.000' ->SOAP response return '0.000'
With dates, the problem is actually on documenting mapping rules when writing interface specifications. If you would write an EAI-solution-independent conversion rule (RFC/date->SOAP/char) for date field it could sound like: YYYYMMDD -> dd.mm.yyyy. This works semantically between these systems but would not work for XI-developer, because he get YYYY-MM-DD from the RFC.
Additionally the decimal type conversion requirements in XSLT mapping programs probably only applies XI and are therefore not reusable in other EAI environments.
I would be glad if somebody would still have further comments for this data type conversion issue.
