Invalid Password error on Instance Deletion

Hi,
OS: Windows 2000
Oracle Version: 8.1.7.0.0
Whenever I try to delete an instance through Database Configuration Assistant, I confirm that I'm sure I want to delete it and I then receieve a DBCA-00012 Invalid Password error. I haven't even entered a password and I wasn't asked to submit one during database install.
Anybody got any ideas how I might be able cleanly delete the instances? Is there a password file somewhere that I could delete to allow me to continure without the error?
Thanks

What password are you referring to?  There is a password for the Base Station that is used to configure the Time Capsule and then there is the Wireless password itself that is used to connect other devices to your Time Capsule.  You can see all of these passwords by running Airport Utility, selecting your Time Capsule, clicking edit, then at the very top menu bar you will see drop down boxes for File, Edit, Base Station, etc.  Click on Base Station and then click Show Passwords.  You will see the WPA or WEP Password that you can use to connect to the Time Capsule wirelessly.
To change the wireless password you just click on the Wireless tab in AirPort Utility and enter a new password in both of the password fields.

  • Snapfish access works, eprint site gives system error or invalid password error

I just installed an HP Photosmart 7525 all-in-one printer, and I am trying to get access to the ePrint site.  I have a working Snapfish account.  I have tried to create an account at the ePrint site. The site recognizes that I have a Snapfish account, and after I am prompted to provide my Snapfish password, I get a "System error. Please try again" message. This keeps happening.  How can this be fixed?  I have a Macbook and have tried this using Safari and Firefox.  The browser makes no difference. I get the same message. I have tried logging into the ePrint site with my Snapfish credentials, and I get an invalid password error.  Please help.  Thank you!

    Hi,
I thought they've fixed this because I, myself, had to use TWO differrent email addresses for 2 accounts. Before try another email address, please clear cache and try again. Hope this helps.

  • Unable to add a mail account, with Invalid Password error message, yet can log into mail system OK through a browser. Mail technicians can't find the problem.

When I try to add a newly-created Bigpond account to Thunderbird, I get an error message "User Name or Password Invalid", yet I can log in to this account OK through a browser. When adding the account, Thunderbird says "Configuration found in Mozilla ISP database". I have previously successfully added Bigpond, Yahoo, Outlook and Hotmail accounts to Thunderbird and they are working fine. The Bigpond Technical Support staff have looked into this and cannot see what is wrong but they say they do not support Thunderbird. Any ideas appreciated...

Thanks. I had tried the auto and manual setups with the same result. IN addition, the Bigpond Support sent me the following which I also tried and got the same result.
For the settings that needs to be configured for your new mailbox, kindly follow the steps listed below:
(**Note: Please be advised that BigPond technical support team is only trained for Microsoft mail clients like Outlook Express, windows Live mail and the like. Having said this, we can only provide limited assistance in setting up your email account for your Thunderbird mail client by providing the correct settings that need to be configured.)
    For IMAP server settings:
    Account Type: IMAP
    Incoming IMAP server: imap-mail.outlook.com
    Incoming IMAP mail: port 993
    Outgoing SMTP server: smtp-mail.outlook.com
Outgoing SMTP port: 587 (with TLS [preferred] or SSL Encryption depending on your e mail app)
Incoming uses SSL: On (this is required)
Outgoing uses SSL: On (this is required) (with TLS [preferred] or SSL Encryption depending on your e mail app)
Authentication Outgoing server (SMTP) authentication: Same as incoming mail server
    For POP server settings:
Please be advised that before setting up your email account on an email client using a POP mail server, we will need to ensure first that 'Connecting devices and apps with POP' has been enabled through webmail. For instructions on how to do this, kindly follow the steps below:
    - Log In your email account from the BigPond website from the Webmail section located at the top left side of the BigPond home page (http://media.telstra.com.au/home.html).
    - The page then will automatically redirect to an Outlook website in which you will need to click the 'settings icon' (a gear like icon) located at the top left side of the page.
    - From the drop down list, click on 'Options'.
    - It will then direct the page to a new page where you will need to click 'Connect devices and apps with POP' under the Managing your account section.
    - Choose 'Enable' and choose "Do what the device or app says—if it's set to delete messages, delete them." under Deleting downloaded messages.
    - Click on the 'Save' button to save the changes.
    - Log out of from your webmail page and start setting up your email client on your mail client using the following setting below:
    Account Type: POP3
    Incoming POP server: pop-mail.outlook.com
    Incoming POP mail: port 995
    Outgoing SMTP server: smtp-mail.outlook.com
Outgoing SMTP port: 587 (with TLS [preferred] or SSL Encryption depending on your e mail app)
Incoming uses SSL: On (this is required)
Outgoing uses SSL: On (this is required) (with TLS [preferred] or SSL Encryption depending on your e mail app)
Authentication Outgoing server (SMTP) authentication: Same as incoming mail server
In looking at the Thunderbird error message, it seems to consistently refer to the User Name and Password. I know they are correct, as I can log in from a browser using them. Is there something in the validation rules that might be the problem? Also, you may be aware that Bigpond is migrating their old Webmail system across to the Outlook platform. Registering new e-mail accounts in Bigpond get created on the Outlook platform, whereas older accounts are still on the Bigpond Webmail system. Is this causing a problem somewhere in validation?

  • "Invalid password" intermittent problem with MBP Snow Leopard Netgear

This is driving me mad, please help.
My MacbookPro (new, Sept '10, Snow Leopard) has intermittent connection problems with my Netgear wireless-N 300 router. Everything works fine a lot of the time. I put the computer to sleep, and next time I open it, I bite my nails to see if it will connect or not. Today, it's not. And there's no logical reason why. What's maddening is that I get an Airport "Invalid Password" error when trying to connect, when I'm using the right password and it has connected automatically before. I will sometimes have success by restarting the computer, or by restarting the computer AND the modem, or by resetting the modem. But sometimes I don't have that success, and today is one of those days.
Now, I also have an older Macbook Pro (Mar '08, Leopard) that NEVER has a problem connecting. So I know it's a Snow Leopard issue.
I have tried changing the channel in the router's wireless settings (including to Auto). I have tried deleting the keychain item for the router's wireless. I still get the "Invalid Password" error.
The irony is that the whole time, I'm updating the router via the old MBP which has no problems with ANY of the settings. That's what I'm writing this on. But I need the other computer to get online. It's getting ridiculous.
I CAN connect by connecting an Ethernet cable to the router, but that kind of defeats the purpose of going wireless.
Please help. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

First log into your router and make sure it is up to the current time and maybe sync it to a Time Server. Then on your Mac open System Preferences->Network. At the top of the pane is the "Location" drop-down. Use that drop-down to make a new custom Location calling it whatever you like. Then at the bottom Network pane click on the 'Apply' button to save this new custom Location you made. Then use the Network pane to rejoin your wireless network.
Also in System preferences->Date & time and make sure it is set to your current living Location. Plus open /Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access. In this program first click on the menu item "Keychain Access" and select "Keychain First Aid". Then go to the entry for you wireless network and delete it. Then the wireless connection should ask you again to save the password, only once, hopefully.
    Good Luck.

  • Getting Invalid password message while running catalog utility

    Hi,
I am trying to index the modifyTimestamp attribute using catalog utility in OID.
I am using the command as :
    ./catalog -connect=orcl -add=TRUE -attribute=modifyTimestamp
    Enter OID password:
but I am getting Invalid password error when I am entering the super user (cn=orcladmin) password.
Could you please help me in solving this issue.
Also can someone help me in knowing how to check what should be the correct value of connect_string.
I am running this command on Solaris.
    Thanks in advance!!
    -Nitin

    Rohit,
The fix to this is fairly straightforward.
You have input an incorrect path for the -infile parameter when calling cryptotools.
    You entered , -infile OracleBIData_HOME/web/config/credentialstore.xml
when it should be, -infile C:\OracleBI\web\config\credentialstore.xml , depending on the absolute physical path to the credentialstore.xml file.
It looks like you were attempting to use either a Nix (unix/linux) path with the forward slashes or you where trying to use a environment variable for "OracleBIData_Home".  I can see from the c:\ that you are on a Windows machine so the Nix path won't work. Also if you are attempting to use an environment variable that you have confirmed is indeed set, then you need to use %OracleBIData_HOME% in the command prompt which would look like %OracleBIData_HOME%\web\config\credentialstore.xml
So to answer your question your command should appear as below if I have accessed your path to the OracleBIData home correctly, you may need to change it based on your installation,
    C:\OracleBI\web\bin>cryptotools credstore -add -infile C:\OracleBIData\web\config\credentialstore.xml
Just be mindful of your paths and your backslashes vs. forward slashes.
Please mark this as the correct answer to award points if it is or if you read it and it helped you.
    Cheers,
    Christian

Ok, we solved it. The main reason is SUPERVISOR password was wrong, and when we want to run this script with another user without changing the values in the
odiparams.sh, instead using a command line
    startscen.sh INT_ODIETL_ODIETL_EQUIP_IMEI_IMSI 001 PROD -ODI_USER=SUPERVISOR -ODI_ENCODED_PASS=enCoDeDPass
it was giving the same error message because of using the parameter in the odiparams.sh
But it was wrong, in oracledi users guide (10.1.3) says using ODI_PASS parameter, so we changed it to
    startscen.sh INT_ODIETL_ODIETL_EQUIP_IMEI_IMSI 001 PROD -ODI_USER=SUPERVISOR -ODI_PASS=enCoDeDPass
    and it works.
    Thank you

How do I retain my apps after I change my apple ID? Right now I'm unable to update any of the apps with the old apple ID. I get an error message about an invalid id or Password. If I delete my appos and start over, I may lose the apps that I purchased (like the ones for $5 +....

Apps are always tied to the ID that was used to purchase them originally. Did you try entering your old password and see if that works?
If you need to sign out of your old account go to Settings>Store>Tap on your ID and sign out. Sign in with the new one.
you can also access your ID in the featured tab of the App Store. Swipe to the bottom of the screen and you will find it there as well.
