Hi
I have installed oracle 10g on my machine.
contents of File /opt/oracle/products/10.2.01/precomp/admin/pcscfg.cfg are :
sys_include=(/b/s624/precomp/public,/usr/include)
ltype=short

Error when save ERD diagram -an unnamed file contains invalid path
Hello,
When I try to save diagram I receive message "an unnamed file contains invalid path". Objects added to diagram are saved to repository but diagram is not...
I'm using Designer 10g on Windows Server 2003I seem to remember there was a bug running certain of the Developer Suite products on Windows Server 2003. Think it was something to do with 10g versions and a missing dll. Probably best to search Oracle Support ( Metalink). I would first check your versions of both Designer and the database are certified agains Windows Server 2003. Good luck

Oracle Product Workbench - connection issue with EBS 12.1.3
Hi,
we've upgraded EBS to 12.1.3 and our Product Workbench is no longer able to retrieve the organization info from the server. We're checking the Packet details in Network Statistics in that case an also when View Concurrent Requests is opened and the server sends back the login page. So apparently PWB cannot log in to the server and is requested to enter credentials.
Apache response is:
170.251.121.114 - - [18/Nov/2011:08:48:58 -0500] "GET /OA_HTML/AppsLogin?requestUrl=http%3A%2F%2Febsapp_lab.accenture.com%3A8000%2FOA_HTML%2FOA.jsp%3FpageHidden%3DY%26LanguageCode%3DUS%26page%3D%2Foracle%2Fapps%2Fdna%2Fintegration%2Fwebui%2FDnaIntegrationPG%26ServerDBC%3DPIMDB%26integration_xml%3D%3C%253Fxml%2520version%253D%221.0%22%2520encoding%253D'UTF-8'%253F%3E%26transactionid%3D1530222396%26oapc%3D2%26oas%3DMt4FQpG-HDucayzYKri9lA..&cancelUrl=http%3A%2F%2Febsapp_lab.accenture.com%3A8000%2FOA_HTML%2FAppsLogin&errText=You+have+insufficient+privileges+for+the+current+operation. HTTP/1.1" 302 1620 0 "-" "Oracle Product Data Editor"
To sum up: errText=You+have+insufficient+privileges+for+the+current+operation.
If we log in to the old EBS to 12.1.1 with the same browser and same settings, we don't have that issue.
Any idea of what that can be?
Thanks. Raúl.The issue was a "_" char in the hostname. This must be changed as is not IETF-compliant and therefore not a supported character and is known to cause problems. Refer RFC 952 (http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc0952.txt) for more information. This is also documented in Microsoft article Q275033 "Cookies Are Not Saved If the Host Name Is Invalid", this feature was introduced from IE 5.01 SP1 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;275033

Invalid Path for target file, check if connector is deployed correctly
Hi all,
I've got a tricky problem over here: we are using OMB scripts for generating simple extract mappings that just copy data from an oracle source table to a flat file on a directory. Up untill now ( with version 11.1 ) this did not pose any troubles, but now we are using 11.2 for the first time and we don't get the mappings to execute. Generating, validating and deploying all works fine, only executing fails with the error: "Invalid Path for target file, check if connector is deployed correctly". It ends to rapidly, so I'm assuming the problem lies in the repository and not on the database itself.
I'm pretty sure all locations are defined as needed, flat file operator in the mapping has correct location, the flat file module has the same location,...
I tried almost everything: recreate oracle module, recreate flat file module, unregister and recreate db location, unregister and recreate dir location, recreate mapping and flat file, export/import...
The strange thing is, I was able to execute a mapping once. Although it ended with an error (due to a function in the mapping), it created the file correctly. After that I needed to update the directory path of the target location and from then on, I always got the error above, and I don't see a good reason.
Any suggestions??
Tnx,
MichelThat error is displayed when the generated code fails to execute with one of the following database errors;
UTL_FILE.INVALID_PATH
UTL_FILE.INVALID_OPERATION
UTL_FILE.INVALID_FILEHANDLE
So its worth checking the generated code for that map and searching for the code around UTL_FILE.FOPEN and seeing what the path and the file name in the code are. Maybe the file is created with permissions such that it can be created but not then re-written and its an OS permissions thing (such as UMASK settings).
Cheers

How to Setup and Verify Setup of Oracle ODBC Driver on Linux

Werner -
I have installed an Oracle 11gR2 on Oracle Linux Server 6.6 (Virtualbox). I have the users grid and oracle11g. Add groups and install grid infrastructure first as a grid user and install database as oracle user as in documentation successfully.
I have following users and groups as

[grid@orcl11g ~]$ crsctl check has

[grid@orcl11g ~]$ srvctl status database -d ora11g
Database is running.

NOW QUESTIONS!!!!!
1. Why I can't change the status of database to OPEN as grid user?
2. The status is always STARTED when querying v$instance. İs it status of +ASM or database?
3. When checking database as grid user it seems to be Database runnning... If running why it is not in OPEN state? What is running means here?
4. When I log on as oracle user and query v$instance, then error shown above occured. And also when startup the database then another error occured as in above. WHY?
5. When I edit /etc/oratab file manually why second row saved but the first one is changed after restart the system?
6. Normally, which user have to start, stop or manage database? I think that oracle user is necessary for managing database and the grid user is only for managing ASM and Oracle Restart.
PLEASE HELP ME TO SOLVE THIS CHAOTİC SİTUATİON!!!

Thanks, - DaveYou can verify the settings of the path to your libraries with
System.out.println(System.getProperty("java.library.path"));before you call System.loadLibrary(), so you know if it is correct.
I also found this information (for Solaris):
The shared library file name requires a "lib" prefix and a ".so" extension. Do not include the "lib" prefix or the ".so" extension for the argument that you pass to the System.loadLibrary method.
I don't know if that helps you solving your problem. -

Can't intsall oracle products on Windows 2000
The Oracle Universal Installer didn't start (no any error message returns) when I run setup.exe to install the Oracle8i Enterprise Server on the Windows 2000, the same problem happened with the Oracle9i Application Server too. My machine is Dell Dimension 8100 (P4, 128 MB Memory, 80 GB Disk), which meets the system requirement by Oracle. Anyone can help me identify what's problem ?
Thank you in advance
nullIt works! As you mentioned the symcjit.dll causes the problem. Thank you very much for help.
By the way I just got email from Oracle, which says the issue occurs on all P4 machines when installing Oracle products by Oracle Universal Installer under Windows 2000. There is no fix until now. That's weird, isn't it? All PC/Server will go to P4 sooner, doesn't Oracle care it ?
Thank you again

Datechkw window - odbcinst.cnt contains an invalid path
HI !
I've already installed oracle client 8.0.5 in several nt4 workstations with a cd reader and everything went ok.
Now I want to install it in workstations without cd reader.
I tried 2 things: access through a network share to another cd drive, and the other thing was to copy the entire cd contents
to my nt4 server and that shared it with full control to everyone.
One way or the other, when I start to install the client, I always get the error "my_server\my_share\win32\odbc32\ODBCINST.CNT contains an invalid path", in a window wich title is "datechkw".
What is the problem here ? Am i executing the wrong files, or will I have to edit that odbcinst.cnt file ?
Any help apreciated.
Thanks.
David Carvalho.
[email protected]For OA Pages, the way help is rendered is this
1. Developers use a help target attribute and give a specific name for a specific page
2. Doc team uses this help tag in the help pages they build
3. The help doc is uploaded into fnd_lobs by the patch using FNDGFU program
4. When help is launched, fndhelp.jsp (in $OA_HTML) is used and the help target from the page is passed as a url parameter
5. fndhelp.jsp then looks up the doc in the database (fnd_lobs) with the help of fnd_help_targets and fnd_help_documents tables.
So if you want custom help to be rendered instead of seeded oracle help, please try uploading the help doc in the database (use FNDGFU) and then change the help targets in the related tables mentioned above.
Thanks
