Invalid path in XML Publisher temporary directory
Hi
Even if i am setting this temporary directory property in xml publisher admin to an invalid path, i am able to see the template outputs. i restarted the apache server. Do i need to do any more changes?

I have migrated the standard report 'Invoice Print Selected Invoices' from Reports 6i to XML Publisher. It has to print a Euro(€) in the report. It does not even generate the XML File fully. It gives the below error in the XML File. When i remove the special character, it works fine.
Please let me know the settings to ensure that XML file also accepts the special characters. How do i get the Euro symbol printed in XML File with out giving Invalid Character Error?

I have gone thru the Document 222663.1 and it says that the Developer 6.0.8.23 is required to handle this problem. We are using almost the updated Developer version i.e., Developer 6.0.8.25. So, this should be handled automatically, but it still errors out. Please suggest.

Error "Run-Time Error '76' PAth Not Found" in XML Publisher Desktop
Hi All,
we are trying to preview the PDF output in the XML Publisher Desktop Application.
We are able to LOAD the data successfully.
But whenever we try to preview the output, we are getting an error saying "Run-Time Error '76' Path Not Found".
We are using the XMLP Desktop application on the Client Machine.(Citrix)
Can anybody help us in this regard?

Hi,
I am trying to preview the PDF output in the XML Publisher Desktop Application.
I am able to LOAD the data successfully.
But whenever we try to preview the output, we are getting an error saying "Run-Time Error '76' Path Not Found".
I am running in Vista OS and MS Office 2007.
What to be done after this? Do I place the .xml and .xsd in Temp folder?

XML Publisher report not printing excel output due to special characters
Hello,
I am trying to create a xml publisher report which should display the output in excel. But the program completes with a warning status and the output is displayed as XML instead of excel, with some errors "An invalid character was found in text content. Error processing resource " and i think these errors are due to the special characters(eg: city/province - A Coruña, Cáceres). If i give rownum < 10 in my query, where there are no such characters it works fine and i am getting an excel output.
Tried changing the XML encoding and it doesn't help (both mentioned below)

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
Do anyone have a solution for this

Click the administration..
then Click HTML Output
Then in the Base Image URI Give the url of your application for example
http://Test.Test.com:8000/OA_MEDIA/
And then
Image File Directory give this as per your application setup
/u01/app/oracle/apps/apps_st/comn/java/classes/oracle/apps/media/

In the process monitor detail > view log/trace page, the xml file is accessible so the file was generated to a valid directory.
The weird thing is I was able to run this report without any issues few weeks ago although another user also ran into same error. The PeopleCode step that has been identified is essentially same in the two reports. I checked the app server and the directory does exist as well as the xml files for the two reports. The problem does not occur in test environment, just in production. Any help would be appreciated.We encounter the same problem. Did you get the answer for this issue? Thanks in advance.

XML Publisher report ends in Warning with java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
Hi,
We are modifying the standard report Account Analysis Report (in Subledger Accounting) to create a custom report.
When run wide open, it is ending in Warning with the error java.lang.OutOfMemoryError in OPP Log.
We are on EBS 12.1.3. DB 11.2.0.3 and XML Publisher 5.6.3
We have set the below parameters in the data definition:
Use XML Publishers XSLT processor: True
Enable Scalable feature of XSLT processor: True
Enable XSLT Runtime optimization: True
Also we have added these to the Data template:
<property name="db_fetch_size" value="20" />
<property name="scalable_mode" value="on" />
On the concurrent program, we have this option set:
-ms1024m -mx2048m
Still, the program is ending in Warning and not producing output. Any pointers here?
We can also see that the Temporary Directory is not able to be set on the data definition. Why is this?
After setting the Temporary Directory from Administration page, we were able to set the temporary directory for this data definition, but that did not solve the iseue.Glad you have sorted this - note that the fnd_concurrent_requests table has the fields pp_Start_date and pp_end_date which will show how long post processing is taking.
Good to a good idea to monitor this in relation to the setting you have made in the profile option Concurrent:OPP Timeout profile option though 3 hours should cover most things!!!! -
Import a subtemplate in XML PUBLISHER 5.6.2
Hi, we need to be able to reference subtemplates in our templates in XML Publisher. We were able to test
successfully on our desktop by using the following command:
<?import: file:///C:/SousGabarit/Variables/X0050_fr.rtf?>, but we failed after adapting
the command and deploying to the server.
We tried many different approaches like the following which didn't work(with the subtemplate in the same directory
as the template):

<?import:./entete.rtf?>
<?import:entete.rtf?>
This worked:
<?import:http://p033c:8888/entete.rtf?> since it references an available directory on an application server. But we don't want to specify the
server and port in all of our templates since moving from one environment to
the other will mean changing every templates...
We would like to reference a relative path on the XMLP server. Is it possible to have all the subtemplates
in a directory which can be referenced in the templates directly on the XMLP
server?
What needs to be the import command then?

I have two questions related to this...
1- Where do you recommend we put the templates on the server? Ideally we would like the user to go through the application to upload subtemplates as opposed to give access to a folder, but I think we cannot access a subtemplate directly in the reports section of the app with a URL, right?
2- Where in the documentation can we find the information about the parameters we can use in our templates which come from the application settings, like "CURRENT_SERVER_URL"? Can we also have access to the locale? What are the other parameters available?

We're currently using XMLP for generating custom reports in T&E FSCM 8.9...
The requirement is that once the Report(PDF) is generated, the AE should mail that to the appropriate Employee. We're generating reports using the Bursting Functionality of XMLP...The problem that we are facing is that the generated report(PDF) cannot be added as an attachment to the Email since the File Directory in which we want the Report to be generated is not happening. PS is by default generating all the reports under the psreports folder with the Report ID...and that path we are not able to traverse by using the Content ID & process Instance, since the Commit has not happened. As per PBooks, if you want to publish the report in another directory then one can Publish the report in required directory after the Report has been processed using ".ProcessReport();". However PBooks also says that the directory should not be specified for reports which have been processed using ProcessReport();....To me they seem to be contradicting Statements...
Bottom Line - We'hv used the PeopleCode in the PBooks for XML Publisher...& that does not work as stated...Just wondering if we have missed out on any configs...from our side...???

Oracle's BI Publisher is not that mature enough so that one can use it freely across modules/applications...especially 5.6.2...
We had tonnes of problems with the existing installation...and to make life difficult the entire application has been coded in such a way that the core/logic is in the class files...there is very little the user/developer can do when the class methods start failing...we had to tweak the OOB App Package PSXP_RPT...* to get it to work the way we desired....and the worst of all...all the so called documentation in the PBooks for XML Publisher is as good as nothing....PeopleCode given in the PBooks for XMLP does not work...Strange but True!!!... -

CP submitted successfully and getting the output as required but it not generating the email and in log it is not showing any error.
ans I verified OPP log file in that also it is not showing any error.
what could be the reason for not getting an email??
Did I miss any thing to generate the email??

This is the class for a JCP I created to perform the following:
1) Launch an existing Concurrent Program that produces PDF output
2) Grab the PDF and apply a watermark based on user input or conditions
3) associate the modified PDF to CP output for PASTA printing
It isn't elegant but it is fairly simple. I added the email capability and tested it but am not implementing it at the present time.
there is a fair amount of information out there that explains how to create a JCP councurrent program but very little that demonstrates the class needed.

XML Publisher Desktop 5.6.2 Installation Error
I down loaded the desktop version. when I install it, it pops up a dialog
"Word application is running. please close word application and retry installation"
then, it stops installation.
But I did not have word application open, only installation is running.
Is this a bug, or I am missing some thing?

I tried to install versions 5.5 and 5.6.2 of XML Publisher Desktop and I consistenly get an "unexpected error during configuration" at the end of the installation. The word process wasn't running while I was running the setup (and outlook neither).

Previously downloaded apps in the app store are not downloadable any more
I had deleted apps on my iPad2 and now I'm trying to re-download them again from the Apps store, but these apps are dimmed in color, which indicates that I'm unable to download them any more. (The cloud is grayed out). Can anyone help?

It is working in other browsers. I have disabled other addins and plugins - still no go. It was working up until yesterday. The only thing I have done system-wise is a defrag.
