Invalid Project File

Lately when I make a blu-ray project, save and quit the software, I will attempt to re-open the project only to get an INVAILD PROJECT FILE error. The software does not crash, it stays open, and wants me to pick another project (presumably a "valid" project), but my original project is apparently toast.
Why is this happening?
I'm on XP PRO sp2

I'm having same problem with 1.5 error 45013 Invalid Project File...did you ever figure out what to do to rescue it or did you have to re-create it?

  • Please help - Invalid project file.

    Hi,
Was about 90% done on a major DVD project when DVD studio Pro 4 crashed.
When I try to reopen the file it says "invalid project file".
Although I have all of the assets and could rebuild I was in the process of adding subtitles manually and really need to get them back if possible (I was about 2 hours into a 2 1/4 hour film and was typing them in seperately.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers

Hi - welcome to the discussions.
I hat to be the one to tell you this, but I would almost certainly guarantee that project is lost, I'm afraid.
There are a couple of things you can try to get this back - repair disk permissions, trash preferences and so on - but you could also look inside the project file (control+click on it and 'show package contents') for anything that you can salvage. With luck, repairing permissions or even re-starting your machine will get you back to be able to open the project, but I wouldn't want to build your hopes.
DVDSP does have the ability to let you type subs directly in to it, but whenever you do it is very difficult to get them out and use them elsewhere without a lot of additional work. For that reason alone most folk will create the subs in an external application and import them to DVDSP when done. That way they are always accessible, easily editable and most important, they are portable between projects or even between tracks within a project. I strongly recommend that you use a dedicated subtitle app, like STLEdit or even a basic text editor (or better, BBEdit).

  • "Invalid Project File" when I try to open my work! HELP!

When I try to open my .ncor project file (eithe with Encore 5 or 5.1), I get "Invalid Project File" pop-up box.
Why? What is wrong? There are only menus and buttons in the project!
All hard drive are connected. Using Windows 7 Pro (will switch to Mac very soon!!).
Never had a problem before. Until now.
    Any suggestion???

What tha? Today is the first time I've Heard Of, Seen, or Recieved this error... ever!
    - This project started on my Mac but something is awry with my Adobe/Mac setup so I did a minimal Adobe installation to my Win7 64bit PC laptop. (Pr CC, Pr CS6, & En CS6)
I just finished Building & Transcoding my project in En CS6 on my  laptop.
I closed En and went to lunch. When I tried opening my project an hour later, I recieved the error.
Trying to move project folders into a new En project structure prompted the same error.

  • Error message: Error loading Project _ Invalid project file format

This monring I open dvdsp project and it happen frozen. It became not responding. So I had to force quit. Now I can't open project file. The error message said "Error loading Project _ Invalid project file format". What should I do?

This isn't quite the same issue, but close enough that it must be related:
I was working on a project this morning, added a ton of subtitles and tweaked a jpeg menu (in photoshop). Saved it, closed it down without any issues, and now it won't open. The "Loading Project" box gets 1/4 of the way along and freezes on "Loading Tracks". In Activity Monitor the DSPX_Encoder services are not frozen, although not actually using any CPU power.
Needless to say I don't have a backup...... and I thought that I had achieved a lot this morning.
    Solutions attempted so far:
Disconnected the external hard drive with all the assets in the hope that I could isolate a dodgy file. Masde no difference, so the problem must be within the project file itself.
    Anything else to be done??

  • Invalid Project File - after power loss

Working a client DVD project, 30 disc's to burn. Encore project was finished and ready for builds. I had the project open, blank disc in drive, and my power blinked off and back on. After PC reboot the project wont open, Invalid Project File. It looks like the whole Encore project folder somehow got moved into the Premiere folder for the same project, it was not in that location before the power blink. All the Encore project folders look to be intact - Cache & Source items all there. I moved the whole Encore project file back to its previous location but still wont open, any ideas on how I can get it to open?
    Thanks,
    Donnie
    WIN7, CS5.

Encore doesn't do autosaves. And won't do save as copy. Only Save-As.
Wow; how unlucky can you get!
Just curious; did you have a power backup on your system. I've had just enough issues (long ago now), that I won't work without one.
Encore is very unforgiving when things get out of place. Also, projects, once corrupt, are hard to recover. The "do-over" is the only fix for many problems.
What message do you get when you try to open it?
I don't see how the whole folder structure could have been moved. We always have to allow for operator error, but also for those computer oddities that surprise and amaze us!
The Encore project file itself is at the top of (outside) the Encore folder structure. Is that what you moved it to?
    But try this also:
Troubleshoot damaged projects in Encore on Windows

  • Mac project file showing "Invalid Project" on PC

Got an Encore CS5 file created on a Mac that I'm trying to open on my PC so that we can burn BluRays... I try to open it, and get an error message saying "invalid project file." Any suggestions?

    Thanks, Stan...
I never could get the project file to open, so I tried importing the media
files (exported as bluray files from PrPro on the mac) into Encore to begin
fresh, and it always killed Encore. I then tried importing them to PrPro to
see if I could DL to Encore, and it killed PrPro as well. So finally I ran
them through G-Spot and found that one of the two m4v files was in AVC/h.264
and the other had no associable codecs. The one without associable codecs
simply wouldn't open, and the one in AVC/h.264 would go half-way and then
kill the programs. Neither would play in any media player, including VLC.
So I've got the guy who created the files going back to his PrPro project on
the Mac and he's supposed to try and render them out in Avid DNxHD (which
I've been told is a good cross-platform codec) and if he can't get that to
work (the Mac's he's on are under IT lockdown and he may not be able to
install the Avid codec pack) then to render them out as 8-bit uncompressed
QuickTime. Either set of files, I can pull into PrPro and then do DL to
Encore and rebuild the menu system using the PSD files he sent me.

  • FCP Project Files are all "invalid format?"

I tried uploading many FCP Project Files with no success. All Project Files run fine in Final Cut Pro.
Once the upload process begins, the "Jobs in Progress" status spins for about a minute or so. At this point a red exclamation point appears, then a popup window that states:
"Unable to Analyze Project ... Invalid Format."
The project file makes it's way into FC Server as a listed asset, however when I choose to "get Info" and do a Search for the associated project files, nothing shows up. The manual mentions or recommends to use file extensions, and I have.
I read Final Cut Server is supposed to automatically recognize all FCP Project file's associated media. In fact they don't need to be packaged in a folder, etc.
Lastly I created a brand new FCP Project with a single video clip and a single audio clip after I installed the new ProApps Update. Still no luck.
Is anyone experiencing the same issue?
    Thanks.
    -paul.

    Paul:
I experience the exact same issue, yesterday and thought that after Apple released the following update
    http://www.apple.com/support/releasenotes/en/FinalCut_Studio_2.0rn/
that things may work, but they still dont.
My guess, is that there may be a version update to Final Cut 6.0.3 to maybe Final Cut 6.5 or something that will allow this direct integration with Final Cut Server. However, note, I was able to success import Final Cut Project exported as Final Cut XML files. I tried this because this was traditionally how it work when FCServer was the Artbox product. My guess is because the Final Cut Studio and Final Cut Server engineers in Apple really don't speak direct to each other, FCServer was realeased with this bug.

  • RH 7 generating invalid html files

First I should say that this is a foreign language project.
The default language has been changed accordingly.
When I generate WebHelp, from Single Source Layout, the
output view shows that about 10% of my topics are duplicated as
invalid html files. For example, I have a topic called
"Navigation." RH updates/generates that topic properly
(navigation.htm) but also generates an invalid topic along with it
    (navigation_text0.htm).
The output view flags these invalid topics with warnings, and
    links to the corresponding
valid topics do not work. In fact, several links within the
project return a "IE cannot display the page" error, even though
the links are definitely set up properly. If I close the project,
or regenerate, some of those links will then work, though I have
made no changes. So, it's arbitrary.
    What is wrong?

    Hi there
Assuming you used defaults, look at your !SSL!\WebHelp folder. You upload all files and folders inside this folder.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Need to checkout MS Project file from Excel VBA

I have a VBA Excel macro that can open an MS Project file, and extract data.  It works fine when the MS Project file is on my hard drive or other location where no check out is required.  But often the MPP files I need to access are stored in SharePoint,
in document libraries, that have checkin/checkout enabled.  I am aware of the the way to do this for an Excel file, such as the following code snippet.
' Determine if workbook can be checked out.
     If Workbooks.CanCheckOut(Filename:=docCheckOut) = True Then
      Workbooks.CheckOut (Filename:=docCheckOut)
     Else
MsgBox "You are unable to check out this document at this time."
     End If
I need to be able to do the same thing for MPP files.  Here is the code I have; however, I get a compile error on the CheckOut line, indicating "wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment".  My research suggests that I should
get this compile error, as it only works on certain collections.  Even the line containing "CanCheckOut", while it does not give me a compile or run time error, it does not return the proper response.
     Dim mpApp As MSProject.Application
     Set mpApp = New MSProject.Application
     AppActivate "Project Professional"
' Determine if mpp file can be checked out.
     If mpApp.CanCheckOut(mppFileToOpen) = True Then
      mpApp.CheckOut (mppFileToOpen)
         Else
MsgBox "Unable to check out this document at this time."
        End If
Is there a way to checkout an MS Project file stored in SharePoint from within Excel VBA?  Thanks.
    Ray

    Rod,
Thanks very much.  This was, indeed, the solution.  Don't know how I could have missed this.
I did run into some issues with ensuring proper object references, checking back in, and being able to handle files that may be on a laptop, SharePoint site with checkout requirements, or SharePoint site without checkout requirements.  Also faced an
issue checking back in; part of my macro opens the MPP file (that is checked out), acquires various pieces of data, then runs a macro in the MPP file that exports data to an excel spreadsheet.  After this macro runs (does a save-as using a map), check
in is no longer possible.  Fortunately, I could checkout the MPP file, open it, get all the required data elements, make a few changes to the MPP file, check it back in (but not close), then run the macro, then close without saving.  In the end,
it all works like a champ.  Thanks very  much for your advice.

  • Can't package native installer on Linux with Flex SDK 4.5 : Invalid AIR file

    Hi,
We've moved our application to compile against the 4.5 SDK.
We're compiling it with Flash Builder (on mac) into an air file and as our application is using NativeProcess API, we're packaging it on each platform into a native installer with the following command (linux example) : adt -package -target native app.deb app.air
We think we fall into the same issue as http://forums.adobe.com/message/3271944#3271944 but for the 4.5 DSK.
On Linux it used to work with the following environment (env1):
    - Ubuntu 10.10
    - Java Sun 1.6.0_24
    - Flex SDK 4.1.0.16076 + Adobe Air SDK 2.5.0
It stops to work when we upgrade to the new Flex SDK (env2):
    - Ubuntu 10.10
    - Java Sun 1.6.0_24
    - Flex SDK 4.5.0.20967 (with the default embeded Adobe Air SDK 2.6)
The faut message is "Invalid AIR file" and nothing is logged in the log file (/home/<username>/.appdata/Adobe/AIR/Logs/Install.log).
    1) The .air file is installing correctly on env2 (without the support of the NativeProcess as expected)
    2) We also tried to compile the project directly on env2 :
    amxml app.mxml
    adt -package -storetype pkcs12 -keystore cert.p12 app.air app-app.xml air.swf
The .air file is installing fine but the packaging into a native process fails in the same way...
    3) We tried to package a native installer of our .air file on env1 and it works!!! (the installed application seems to work fine also on env2!!!)
Are we missing something or does it seems to be a bug of the Flex SDK 4.5?
Are there some restrictions to package a native installer with the Flex SDK 4.1 a air app build with the Flex SDK 4.5 ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mich

    Hi,
Finally we figure out how to solve the issue.
The packaging into native .deb installer fails as explain above because with the hole Flex SDK 4.5 (adt -version told 2.6.0.1920).
The packaging is successfull if only Air SDK 2.6 is install.
What is strange that both adt seems to be the same "2.6.0.1920" (found with "adt -version").
Can someone from the Adobe dev team explain it?
I suppose as the Flex SDK is not available for the Linux platform, the download only contains the Air SDK for Windows and Mac OS as opposed to the specific download of the Air SDK for te Linux platform...
    Thanks,
    Mich

  • Problem in Loading - Invalid Report File Path

    Post Author: a_Mohammad
    CA Forum: .NET
Im using CR which came as a bundle with VS2005. I deployed my ASP.NET project on online server. Sometimes, When users try to load the reports, they got an error says "Invalid Report File Path" appears at the top of the report, and no data shown. If i reset the IIS, it return to work fine again.
Usually i got this error when there is a lot of hits on the server and reports..
Can you plz advice on that???

    Hello ,
The formula must always return some value. When a conditional test produces no result and this code is responsible for the RETURN in a formula, the error occurs. Make sure that the condition returns a value in all cases (trap errors).
    Example:
    Problem code
    function CF_1Formula return Number is
    begin
    if :deptno = 10 then
    return(10);
    end if;
    end;
If deptno is not 10 , this does not return any value .
    Correct code
You can write the function as:
    function CF_1Formula return Number is
    begin
    if :deptno = 10 then
    return(100);
    else
    return(200);
    end if;
    end;
    Thanks

  • Found invalid html file ??

For WebHelp text popup boxes, early versions of RH stored the
    text in the topic.
Since RH5X, maybe earlier, RH generates small html files with
    file names like this:
    Topicfilename_text0.htm
    Topicfilename_text1.htm
    Topicfilename_text2.htm
    Secondtopicfilename_text0.htm
    Secondtopicfilename_text1.htm
    Secondtopicfilename_text2.htm
The popup JavaScript in the topic refers to the appropriate
    text file.
    That works fine.
When generating WebHelp, RH6 logs a warning line:
Warning: found invalid html file Topicfilename_text0.htm for
    webhelp.
Warning: found invalid html file Topicfilename_text1.htm for
    webhelp.
and so on. I thought perhaps I had inadvertently imported
some of these output files into the project, or mistakenly put them
into the project source folder. But I didn't find them there, only
    in the output.
So it appears that RH is generating valid output files,
putting these "invalid" files in the output folder, and warning
about them in the Output pane.
No harm done here, of course. But I hadn't noticed this
    before now.
    Harvey

    Heya hughbetcha
Let's say you have a topic named Candles.htm. If you insert a
text-only popup into this topic and generate WebHelp, an additional
HTM topic page is created for each text-only popup you have. The
name is a variant of your main topic name.
Not sure why you are seeing a warning message though.

  • Invalid Report File Path Error

I have included several Crystal Reports as embedded resources in a Visual Studio 2010 C# project.  When I try to run the application on a client PC I receive an invalid report file path error.  Why am I receiving this error if the rpt is embedded in the manifest?

The following code now works on my development machine.  It obtains the server name and database name from the configuration file.  When I run on my client PC, however, it prompts me to log into the database.  It provides the correct server name but the database name is blank and integrated security is not checked.  The database name field is not enabled so I cannot provide a value.

  • "Invalid project description" when imporing an existing project to the NWDS

    Hello,
I am trying to import an existing project to the NWDS and I am getting this error:
    "Invalid project description."
    Details: "C:/workspace/<project_name> and C:/workspace overlap."
In .project I can't see anything unusual. Any idea?

    Hi,
I know that one of the options for import (at least for NWDS CE) is to have it copy all files into the current workspace of the NWDS, regardless of the source folder of the old project.
If the old project happens to allready be a subfolder of the current workspace I can imagine it would produce an error similar to the one you get (but I've never seen it).
Which version of NWDS are you using?
    Cheers
