Invalid Registratio for Quicktime 7 Pro

Hello,
I'm pretty good with computers and I'm trying to register for Quicktime Pro. I'm currently running Quicktime 7.1.1 and nothing seems to be working. I've followed the instructions exactly.
The name I registered with in the email is what I've tried typing and copy/pasting into the Registered to field. The key is the same one in the email as well and I've tried typing and copy/pasting that as well. NOTHING is working, I keep getting a invalid registration warning.
Please help!
Thanks!
Powerbook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Apple sells Pro upgrades for both Mac and PC versions of the software.
You did purchase the correct version, didn't you?
The name may also include a "salutation" (Mr. Mrs. etc) that must also be used. Even entering Bob where Robert was used in the name for the purchase will show invalid registration.
Best to use copy paste for both fields.

Hello everybody. I am trying to reinstall my Quicktime 7 Pro after having my MacBook OSX 10.5.8 cleaned out following a hacking. I have Quicktime player and I reregistered with the purchased registration code for Quicktime 7 pro. It seems to be successfully registered with "Quicktime 7 Pro" appearing under the inserted registration code but it is not showing in Applications folder and I do not know how to access it or what to do. Thanks for reading this. I hope you can help me. Aidan from Dublin, Ireland.

Inapplicable advice removed; misread the OS version.

  • .AVI Plug-in For Quicktime 7 Pro

Does anyone happen to know how/where to get an AVI plug-in for Quicktime 7 Pro for Mac? I thought Quicktime played AVI video files, but I guess i was wrong or I'm just not doing something correctly?

    Hi Drew,
I am having the same problem. You need to find out what CODEC the files you are downloading are. .AVI is a container format which may use many different CODEC. You then need to find and install those CODECs on your libary/quicktime folder. You'll find the necessary info here.

  • Invalid code for quicktime

I purchase quicktime Pro 7 and its says that I received an invalid code for the registration. What am I suppose to do?

Also make sure you purchased a key for the correct platform (Windows or Mac). QuickTime keys are not cross-platform.

  • Invalid Key for quicktime

    Hi there
My Key to activate Quicktime 7 pro is invalid even though i had been using it in the past but it doesn't work anymore. What can i do?

Stuff happens. You'll get over it and the "key" you purchased (Mac) can still be used (only on a Mac).
I've been purchasing QT Pro keys for both Mac and PC for years. I need both versions for convenient editing and testing for my Web work.
Find a friend with a Mac and get them to "repay" you for your purchase. Their new key may have your name but no other personal information is stored in it.
Use the proceeds to pay for your Windows version key.
Darn. Did I say stuff happens?
And these are "digital" or "electronic" purchases. Since enabling the Pro features doesn't require anything other than the registration info, I can't see Apple paying for (or misusing) your error.

  • Invalid key for Quicktime Pro

Okay, I'm feeling pretty irate right now after paying out £20 for a product key which was emailed to me for 'instant access' but doesn't bleeding work... Having followed the simple steps, I pasted in my key and got the message 'invalid key' instead of 'Quicktime Pro 7' or whatever...
Will someone here, or someone at Apple please explain to me how in God's name that can happen!
There was something I needed to do with it before the night is over - yet now obviously I can't and what's more I am 20quid out of pocket!
If someone at Apple is reading, I suggest you call or, at the very least, email me with some form of apology for this situation.
    Answers please...

Well, having waited til daybreak to call the support line, I found out that the key alone will not validate the product - you have to enter the name of the person who ordered and paid for it (in this case me) but exactly as they wrote in in the email... I had neglected to put a '.' after 'Mr' and hence the whole thing didn't work. Add the dot, and hey presto...
The guy on the line was very cordial about it but did mention that they get this 'all the time'...
Apple take note... You should make that clearer - especially since my account is in my name - the Mr was selected from a scroll-down menu - and since many people don't even use the dot any more - well it can be confusing...

  • Release date for Quicktime X Pro ???

Does anyone know when the Quicktime Pro X will be released?
(I am aware that if I buy a QT 7 pro license right now, I can use it with Snow Leopard but I'd rather wait a little and get QTX Pro if it will be released soon.)

I agree, when will be the release of a QT X version that can export in different format, like QT 7 Pro (for my Iphone for example) ?
This is just unacceptable, I cannot reinstall the QT 7 (to put the Pro code I just bought...!!!) because even if I erase the QT X on my Mac (Where I bought and install the Leopard Snow), the system doesn'y allow me to.
So now can somebody tell me how I can change video format to read on my iPhone...
I changed for Mac 2 years ago to avoid those crazy problems that has windows, but if it is to get into the same unsane story with Mac, I'd rather go back, et least I could use cracked programs easily !!!

  • HT3678 Quicktime 7 pro upgrade???

What if I don't have my Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard Install DVD? How can I upgrade for the Quicktime 7 pro, when I have a license for it already?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You have Lion, so you have to download QuickTime Player 7 for OS X Lion and Mountain Lion > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL923
Then, see "Information for QuickTime 7 Pro users" > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3678?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

  • Will QuickTime 7 Pro work with OS X Lion?

I have Leopard now, but I have ordered Snow Leopard  because I want to switch to OS X Lion when it comes out - apparently it's not clear whether one actually needs Snow Leopard first, but I'm not taking any chances. I also ordered iWorks11 and iLife 11 because I only have 08 and I understand that those won't work on Lion. Now, does anyone know if my QuickTime 7 Pro will work on Lion?

Good news - it WILL work for Lion - I stand corrected.  For some reason the Lion install deleted the program from my computer (the icon changed to a question mark on my dock but the program was no longer in my applications folder).  I called Apple today - they directed me to download QuickTime 7.6 or 7.7 - I don't recall which - and it works.  Your computer should remember your activation key and automatically add the pro features (mine did).  If not you may need to re-type your activation code (hopefully you still have it but I didn't need it).
Important - search for QuickTime 7 download.  When first looking I searched for QuickTime 7 Pro and found a page on Apple's site to download it but the dmg says "Leopdard" on it and it will not work on Lion.
Call Apple if you are still having trouble - it works, I promise!

  • HT3678 I have 10.7.4 Mac OS - just paid $32 for Quicktime Pro so I can convert a video file format got authorization code but cant figure how to find Quicktime let alone activate - HELP!

Just paid $32 for Quicktime Pro so I can convert a .MOV video file format to another format - cant figure out where Quicktime is and how to activate it to Pro
Is it the Quicktime player 7?

I did this and copied EXACTLY my name and the activation code sent in the receipt - says invalid
    I am under a deadine for a presentation in 8 hours -
My problem is thet a person made a montage from photos and saved it as .MOV file format and the presentation is going to be made on a flat screen TV from a USB mem card or thumb drive -
first problem was card was FAT32 formatted - and I think I understand that for a 5GB file size that ExFAT is required and XP with patches or Windows 7 and Mac OS read this format so not a problem to format USB to be ExFAT - but the TV needs AVI or a MPx format
    suggestions???
    Thanks in advance

  • HT2240 I cannot get my registration to work for QuickTime Pro for Mac OS X 10.6.8 using QT 7.6.6

I cannot get my registration to work for QuickTime Pro for Mac OS X 10.6.8 using QT 7.6.6  I have copied and pasted exactly as require (I don't have an organization).  Any suggestions?  Thank you!

There is no QuickTime System Preferences pane in 10.6.8 or later.
You enter the registration under the player 7 menu.

You would have to ask Apple to get a "real" answer. This is a peer-to-peer user foum and anything we say would be pure speculation.

I recently purchased QuickTime 7 Pro to convert avi files to mov files for editing on Imovie. However, QuickTime won't play the files. How can I get them to play and how can I convert them to mov files?
Both the AVI and the MOV file extensions refer to the file container and not the compressed data the file contains. Both are generic file containers in that each may contain any valid combination of audio and/or video data that is compatible with the codec component configuration of the system on which the file was created. On the other hand, whether a file is playback compatible, conversion compatible, and/or edit compatible depends on the data actually contained in the file container. So, you are basically dealing with two separate issues here—the container and what is inside it.
Basically, if you want to make your files ediit compatible with iMovie, you must change your file container to one that is acceptable to iMovie and convert the data to edit compatible audio and/or video compression formats as may be necessary. The best approach is to determine what codecs were actually used to create the original AVI files and add them to your system if possible. In most cases a codec package like Perian can be added to your system's codec component configuration to may the AVI file playable. Once they are playable, in the QT 7 app then they can be chnged or converted to file types and compression formats that can be edited in iMovie. (While Perian handles most codecs commonly used to create AVI files, it does not handle all possibilities and, while the Perian codec package still works under cureent Mac OS versions, its development group has decided to drop further development/support of the package.)
Background: AVI is a file container originally developed by Microsoft back in 1992 but for which official support was discontinued about 11 years. Despite its limitations, Windows users still tend to use this file based on its open source ease of use and generic nature, thus, making its use so popular that most users are unwilling to switch to more modern but less generic file types. Since some AVI legacy compression formats have never been transcoded for the Mac or use beyond OS 9 or OS X PPC platforms, it is often important to know what specific compression formats are contained in the AVI file to know which codecs to add to your system and which not to add in order to avoid possible codec conflicts.
You can use many different converters to convert AVI files to iMovie edit compatible files. Most third-party apps contain their own buit-in codecs which do not relay on the Mac codec component configuration. Free ones, like HandBrake, usually have limited conversion capabilities while those that have more varied outputs are usually commercial in nature and will cost you additional cash. QT 7 Pro or the free MPEG Streamclip app allow you to access you own system's component configuration and use any available codec component like DV, AIC, MPEG-4, H.264, Photo JPEG, etc.—all of which are iMovie compatible for editing purposes—but only after making the AVI file QT 7 player compatible.
In order to determine what compression formats wewre used in your AVI files you can
    1) Try checking the Finder "Info" window,
    2) Use the "Inspector", "Media Info", or "Properties" window of any player app that will open the file, or
    3) Use a general media utility app like "MediaInfo" to read the file characteristics.
