I cannot install creative suite cs2 the message invalid,serial,number,error appears; does anyone know how I can fix,please? The download is from the Adobe site using the serial number they provide prior to downloading

I am retiring an old PC that had Acrobat 9 Standard installed on it. I retrieved the serial number using JellyBean keyfinder. When I try to install Acrobat 9 Standard on the replacement PC and enter the serial number I get an error that the serial number is invalid. As you would expect, Adobe support will not help. My Elements 10 quit working so I purchased the Elements 12 ($150.00). In attempting to install, it won't accept the enclosed serial number (also called Redemption Code). To say the least, I'm pretty ticked off with Adobe.....I only used the Adobe Elements 10 package a year and suddenly it's useless. I called your service dept., got a "foreign speaking" person who told me he could "fix it" for $150.00. What's next.....do you now want me to "buy" another serial number?

no, you don't need to remove lr from your pc. you are allowed up to two concurrent installations of adobe software.

If it is the first CS version then you will need to check out the following. I believe it applies to CS as well even though it specifies CS2....

I am getting an invalid serial number error for Adobe Acrobat XI

My principal has ordered a copy of Adobe Acrobat XI for a school computer. The disc came with a serial number for a Mac installation, which he is hoping to install on his macbook air. I am using Remote Disc to install it.
However, the serial number that comes both on the invoice and on the back of the CD sleeve is only 23 digits long and when entered gives an Invalid Serial Number error. I would love it if somebody from Adobe could contact me and get a replacement serial number that would be valid for the installation.
I'm not going to post the serial number here because of reasons.

Most likely, you downloaded the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom which will not accept your serial number. You need to uninstall it, reboot, then download the standalone version of Lightroom and install that.

Find your serial number quickly
You can activate software without following up and registering it... at least that was the case in the past. The serial number is normally located on the disc case or a box inside the main box. If you did not purchase the disc from Adobe then it is possible you would have dealt with a redemption code, in which case it would have been up to you to keep a record of the serial number, especially if you did not follow up and register the software.

There is no serial number for CC Cloud versions. They are authenticated via your Adobe ID.
Sign in to your Cloud account with your Adobe ID and download the software via the Cloud app.

Thanks for replying, Jim. I wasn't planning to use it for raw images. I shoot film, black and white, and have many negatives I want to print. I am unfamiliar with the upgrades in Lightroom. I wasn't unhappy with the version I have. It was useful for my purposes.
Because it was a few years ago, I don't remember if I registered the product. I was able to login to my account. But could not find a path to communicate with Adobe. I will keep trying.
