Invalid signature for Itunes 10.5.1

I see I'm not the only onw who can't download 10.5.1 version of iTunes due to the invalid signature.  I tried disabling my anti virus-- didn't work.  The last three updates I've had to completely remove iTunes and re install-- what a pain in the ***!  Come on iTunes,  is it too much too ask that you provide us w/ a valid signature?

Ok so, now apparently, when I close out of itunes and re open it, the album artwork is there now.  Weird.

  • "Invalid signature" downloading iTunes 8.2.1

I was running iTunes 8.02 on my Toshiba laptop. After copying my iTunes files from my netbook (which is running iTunes 8.1.1 on Windows XP) to my Toshiba (Windows Vista), I could not run the older version because the itl library is a newer version. I don't want to have to recreate all my work (1200 songs, and about 20 playlists), so I tried to download the newest version, 8.2.1 onto my laptop. The first two times, I did the usual process, and it failed to install. The third time, I tried downloading manually, but after all the time downloading, I got a message that there was an "invalid signature," and it was deleting the download file.
    Can anyone help? Thank you!

Try going into IE > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab
Scroll down to the security section
Put a check in the box for "Allow software to run or install even if the signature is invalid"
SAVE the iTunesSetup.exe, it's a bad idea to run installs over the internet.
If this works, go back into IE and change that box back to being unchecked when you are through.

  • [Solved] pacstrap fails on invalid signature for glibc

I'm trying a fresh install of Arch, but while following the beginner's guide, I encounter an issue when running `pacstrap /mnt base base-devel`.
When it has downloaded all packages and it finishes checking package integrity, I keep getting this:
error: glibc: signature from "Allan McRae <..>" is invalid
I have already tried `pacman-key --init` and `pacman-key --populate archlinux`. But that doesn't solve the issue.
I have also tried a different mirror, but that too didn't solve the issue.
What am I doing wrong? And how can I solve this problem.
*EDIT* Solved, I found out that pacstrap stored the database on /mnt/var/, by removing it and redownloading the packages, it solved my issue.

For future reference, you don't have to delete the whole cache, just the package that is corrupt. (in /mnt/var/cache/pacman/pkg/)

  • Invalid signature on iTunes update and iPhone software update

I have a problem, which has stopped me from updating to the latest version of iTunes and the latest iPhone software. This has caused my iPhone to crash during updating and now needs to be restored, but cant as I cant update to the latest version of the software!
The long story is that for the past few weeks I've been having problems downloading new music, or films from the iTunes store, sometimes saying the file is corrupt, and basically being very hit and miss.
When my phone tried to update to the latest software this weekend, it crashed during the install and now needs to be restored.
I called Apple and they suggested deleting itunes and starting again. They also suggested trying this with my antivirus turned off!
As I recently bought Windows 7 Home Ultimate, I decided to try and start from scratch and removed iTunes, Quicktime, my antivirus (Virgin Media's own) and install Windows.
This worked fine, but now I cant install iTunes at all, I have the setup file downloaded and click on it and nothing at all happens. I've tried running it in different compatibility modes, and still nothing.
I now cant download the antivirus software either as it states there is an error.
There seems to be something stopping me from downloading, saying signitures are invalid, there are errors, or files are corrupt.
My internet connection still works, although I'm worried about using it as I have no Firewall, antivirus etc.
Sorry for the rambling post, but I wanted to give as much info as possible..

Yeah, this problem continues to exist and no one ever has the answers to this problem. I've monitored this problem for over a year and yet Apple and Microsoft has again and always dropped the ball. I've read and tried all the articles people direct you to to help resolve this, and nothing. I am so sick of almost having to get get a degree in Computers to fix these problems that shouldn't exist. I think this may actually be me last IPOD I ever purchase if I am going to have these issues all the time. Sorry this is happening to you dude, but it doesn't surprise me one bit.

  • Invalid checksum for iTunes? ... can't download large apps?

    I've noticed two things.
First, I've tried to download iTunes 11 from both the app store and a straight download, and, both ways (and every time -- 7 tries now), I get an invalid checksum. I've downloaded from Chrome; I've downloaded from Safari. I can't imagine the source is the problem, so what's happening there? My network connection seem otherwise solid, based on my ping rate to California, and standard web use.
Secondly, iTunes 10 won't download large apps. Neither the 'Magic the Gathering' update or the 'Grand Theft Auto: Vice City' app will download. (Both of those weigh in at over a gig.) At some point during the download, I get the warning, "An unknown error occurred (-50)." Smaller apps seem fine.
This is with a late 2008 13-inch Macbook Pro running 10.8.2.
    Help? ... and thank you!

Just need to find a way to get a hold of someone who can fix this.

  • Invalid signature for perl-params-util [solved]

Trying to upgrade perl-params-util failes with
error: perl-params-util: signature from "Justin Davis (juster) <[email protected]>" is invalid
I did a 'pacman-key --refresh-keys' and verified Just Davis' fingerprint. Can't see any error, might the package been broken? Anyone facing this issue?

you might try a pacman -Syy to force an update of the package lists.
If that does not work, try telling pacman to clear your cache and, perhaps, try a different mirror.

  • HT1926 Why ,when Itry to install the latest update for iTunes does it say that my iTunes signature is "invalid" when I have used this same computer for years and have installed all the previous updates? Thank you.

Why, when I try to install the latest iTunes update, itsays that I have an "invalid" signature...I have used this same machine and have installed all the previous updates with no problem.

That one suggests the installer has gotten damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

Hello, I was trying to upgrade my iTunes for windows 7 PC, but because of invalid signature error I removed iTunes as well as all apple related applications. While reinstalling it , When I click link to install iTunes it immediately says '' thank you for downloading iTunes'' but I don't find it in my system.
I have tried all suggested option to solve it but all in vain. Please help me to get rid of this problem

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

For over 2 weeks now,i have not been able to use my itunes on my 2 laptops. it been giving me an error report of invalid signature.

  • When downloading updates for Quicktime 7 and Itunes 10 I keep getting an error saying that files shared by these updates has an invalid signature and that the downloaded has been removed.

When downloading updated for Quicktime 7 and Itunes 10 I keep getting an error saying that files shared by these updates has an invalid signature and that the downloaded has been removed. If I don't get that message I get a message saying that the download was unsuccesful and that in order to download I need to go to tools and then select dowload only. Please help I really want to update my iphone!

Thanks for helping out, but I already tried these steps.
I even tried this on a iMac with similar results. The only difference was that the errorcode was called 2001 instead of 21.
Today I took the phone to www.iphoneambulancen.dk. A guy (in Aarhus, Denmark) that specializes in iPhone repairs. I figured, that given his occupation he'd seen most errorcdes. Two hours later, he called me back, and told me that he had replaced the battery.
So, it turns out that a broken battery can cause this behaviour.
    But thanks again

  • ITunes won't find new iPhone and update invalid signature

Trying to restore from iPhone 4 Restore backup to new iPhone 6 (Windows 7) and encountered the following......
When trying to connect the new iPhone 6 to my existing iTunes account, iTunes would not show the device (couldn't find it). Received a popup that stated the phone could not be recognized and an update to 11.4 (12.1....) was required. [[ I found this strange since I just updated and backed up my iPad and old iPhone 4 last night in anticipation of getting the new iPhone 6 today.]]
I tried the update multiple times but it would stall 15 minutes in and give the message "invalid signature" and error out.  I looked through many comments on this support sight, read what related help was available through iTunes help, etc, and spent HOURS trying each one (listed below).  A combination of a couple of steps finally worked for me so I am sharing this to hopefully save you some time and frustration. MUCH frustration.
Tried but did not resolve..... updated new phone to current 8.1.1 and made sure 'Find My Phone' was turned off.
Tried but did not resolve..... downloaded iTunes manually from within iTunes.
Tried but did not resolve .... downloaded iTunes manually from Apple.com downloads.
Tried but did not resolve..... downloaded Firefox (an alternative browser) and manually downloaded iTunes again from Apple.com.
WARNING: The following resolution will wipeout any previous iTunes settings like views, organization, etc.  It will also wipeout any previous setup already done in your new iPhone other than fingerprinting, language and date/time setup. Email accounts, setup preferences, etc, will be wiped.  Also, your old phone will no longer work with iTunes - apprently this new software issue will only recognize one phone.  Your music, contacts, most apps (I did lose a few), if backed up from your old phone properly before starting this process will 'Restore' to your new phone in the updated iTunes.
Tried and worked..... Closed iTunes. Went to Start on my computer, typed itunes64setup. I had two itunes64setup listed due to the first manual download from Apple and then the one done again via the Firefox browser.  I chose the one downloaded from the Firefox browser - not sure it would make a difference. (If you have two listed, Hover your mouse over each and it will give you the times of when they were downloaded).  Right click on the itunes64setup and choose 'Run as Administrator'.  (You may incur issues with this step if using a work proprietary computer.)  Opened iTunes and plugged the iPhone 6 in and it recognized the phone. I was then able to 'Restore' info.
Since I had already tried the manual downloads, I am not sure if they were necessary and maybe running the itunes64setup only would have resolved the issue.  If you are addressing the iTunes update iPhone 6 issue and try the itune64setup without the manual downloads, etc, and it works, please update this support entry so others can follow your lead.
    Thanks!
What Apple is not telling (WARNING) their faithful users about is that they obviously have software issues for existing users in the 'Windows' world when upgrading to the newer phones and to do so you are going to need to spend some time and effort.  This is strike two for me, just coming off the 8.1.0 iPad 2 upgrade debacle Apple put so many of us through.  Shame Shame, Apple!  It's called Q/A and should be applied to all your users environments and not just those who have everything new in an Apple/Mac only world. There are more of us that don't. Thx!

Step one : Please restart EVERYTHING involved. This means your cable modem / dsl router, Airport Base Station if you have one, your computer, your iPhone / iPod Touch / iPad (2) if applicable. Shut it all down and power it all back up in the appropriate order (modem / router / computer, et cetera)
Step two : Make sure you have the most recent version of all software. Verify you have the latest version of iTunes and the Remote software. Check to make sure the AppleTV has no updates as well.
Step three : Enable Home Sharing on all applicable devices.
Step four : Make sure the AppleTV and the computer are both hooked up to the same network, wireless or otherwise, and make sure if you have a non-Apple router anywhere in the mix it is allowing traffic to flow freely between all the Apple tech. Apple has specific documentation on this. Search the Support site for "Apple TV: TCP and UDP ports and protocols used" and make sure none of those ports are being blocked by the router or any firewall software you may have running, like Zone Alarm.
Step five : Fire up the Remote app on your phone, and let it search for your AppleTV. There should be no passwords required anywhere if the Apple tech is properly talking to one another.
Step six : If all the above still doesn't work, then call in a professional who can get eyes on the equipment and do a proper job of troubleshooting.
Please let us know if this does not help.
