Invalid status of log

Dear All.
The database version is oracle 10.2.0.4.0 and the OS is hP UX.
The out come of the v$logfile is as following below.
GROUP# STATUS TYPE MEMBER IS_
4 INVALID ONLINE /u101a/ora10g/oradata/pliv/redo4.log NO
4 ONLINE /data2/oradata/pliv/pliv/redo4b.log NO
5 INVALID ONLINE /u101a/ora10g/oradata/pliv/redo5.log NO
5 ONLINE /data2/oradata/pliv/pliv/redo05b.log NO
6 INVALID ONLINE /u101a/ora10g/oradata/pliv/redo6.log NO
6 ONLINE /data2/oradata/pliv/pliv/redo06b.log NO
6 rows selected.
We have 3 members status are invalid. The issue is that we want to change the path of the invalid member to new path and we can't shutdown the database.
So is any way we can do this with out shuting the oracle database?
Regards

Hi,
You must shutdown the db for relocating the logfile or otherwise create a different log group in the
desired location..
Refer the link,

    ERROR 1012703
*"Unknown calculation type [0] during the dynamic calculation. Only default agg/formula/time balance operations are handled."*
There is an error in a formula(s), therefore, no calculations will work. The problem is that when you have the outline open in Edit mode and you try to 'Validate', it does not identify any of these errors, nor does it write it to a log. However, you can go one by one and validate each formula. So any time you delete a member or modify a member name, be sure that this member is not included in any formula.

  • Fresh Install: Gnome Shell segfault and bgrt invalid status (Nvidia)

Hi everyone! I have Arch freshly installed, and after some modprobing last night I was finally able to get the Arch repository Nvidia drivers working. That being said, I am still getting a "bgrt invalid status" message on boot up (and, for what it is worth I do not have an Arch splash screen). I have googled the issue which took me to a thread here on the Arch forums, but that was dealing with the Noveau driver and not Nvidia.
Below is my entire dmesg output, and would appreciate if someone might help me look through it and diagnose the Gnome segfault and any other issues that may be present. I am also looking for some advice as to the proprietary Nvidia drivers. I have a GTX 980, and while currently I don't need any advanced rendering, here when an upcoming game gets released on Steam, I very well may need that.

Hey, I ran into a similar error (not bgrt invalid status, but a gnome shell segfault) after updating recently and I'm using the proprietary drivers. I think I may have had multiple issues. I'm not sure if any of this advice will prove useful, but some combination of these worked for me:
    * Stop gdm with systemctl (use ctrl alt f2 or another tty), uncomment WaylandEnable=false in /etc/gdm/custom.conf and try restarting gdm
    * If that doesn't work, disable gdm and install another login manager (I used sddm)
    * If that still doesn't work and you have the infinality font packages for freetype, fontconfig, and cairo, replace them with the default packages and try starting your login manager again

If you had it on a laptop that crashed and you threw away, it is still considered as activated on that machine.  YOu should contact Adobe by chat or by phone and have them deactivate for you.
Here is a link to a page with options to help make contact:

If you are getting a message that indicates the serial number is not valid, you should look thru the following:

  • Apex using result_cache has an invalid status for wwv_flow_language query

In the v_$result_cache_objects view of SYS I noticed that Apex is using the result_cache feature of 11g.
Some of the Apex queries will have the status 'PUBLISHED', but others have the status 'INVALID'
    Why does the "SELECT /*+ result_cache */ NLS_LANGUAGE, NLS_TERRITORY, NLS_SORT, NLS_WINDOWS_CHARSET FROM WWV_FLOW_LANGUAGES WHERE LANG_ID_UPPE..." query has a INVALID status?
It already happens when I start APEX (http://localhost:7778/pls/apex).
As I understand the result_cache method it will invalidate the cache after an update is done on the depending table.
Does it make sense that those Apex queries has a result_cache hint when it will be invalidated soon after?

    Hi,
just had a look at our own development box and for me this query doesn't show the status INVALID. It would also not make a lot of sense because this table is only populated during installation.
When you shutdown your database and start it up again and then access APEX with http://localhost:7778/pls/apex to see the query in invalid status?

  • Procedure - invalid status

    Hi all,
I have the procedure name val_xyz and it is worked fine upto july end and now while trying to compile the procedure, it is showing [email protected] invalid. I checked the status in the user_objects, it showing the status as "INVALID". Can any one tell me the reason how it automatically changed its status into "INVALID"..
procedure contains various tables with datalinks....
Please give me the possible reasons for how it changed automatically to INVALID status..
    Regards,
    Jame

It can happen for many reasons. A simple ALTER on a dependent table might do it:
    SQL> create table t (col1 number);
    Table created.
    SQL> create or replace
      2  procedure p as
      3     l_col1 number;
      4  begin
      5     select col1
      6     into   l_col1
      7     from   t;
      8  end;
      9  /
    Procedure created.
    SQL> select object_name, status from user_objects where object_name = 'P';
    OBJECT_NAME                    STATUS
    P                              VALID
    SQL> alter table t add (col2 number);
    Table altered.
    SQL> select object_name, status from user_objects where object_name = 'P';
    OBJECT_NAME                    STATUS
    P                              INVALID

  • Preventing users of certain status from logging in

In my user database I have a column titled "Status". The main
purpose of it is to prevent users with either a suspended account
(status: 'suspended') or an account that has not been activated yet
(stauts: 'inactive') from logging in. I used Dreamweaver's log in
wizard for my user login page, but I don't know how to prevent
users with these statuses from logging in. Can someone help me out
    here?

Is this for ColdFusion or another language? There is also a
    set of server
behaviors in the server behaviors panel that may be of use
    that allow access
levels and restrict pages to certain groups.

  • Invalid standby redo log

On standby database there is a standby log file with status
invalid on ASM diskgroup. In the same log group there is a valid standby log file.
I've tried to drop it and recreate it but its status is still invalid.
Why the status of that file is invalid? It should be inaccessible
to oracle somehow, but I can e.g. view properties of that file by EM db. control.

    Hi,
After I clear the logfile, the invalid logfile member is delete from standby database.
The alert log from standby database is:
ORA-00313: open failed for members of log group 1 of thread 1
    Deleted Oracle managed file +FRA/PROJ_STD/onlinelog/group_1.948.766576659

    Deleted Oracle managed file +REDO02/PROJ_STD/onlinelog/group_1.288.766582015
Completed: alter database clear logfile group 1What is correct? on primary and standby database must be equals about online redo logs?
Why the Oracle delete the online log files that I add on standby?
    Thank you!!!!

Thanks Timo and Frank for your responses.
Timo, If I understand it correctly, I have go override am definition to catch the exception and continue.
Frank, validating the data against db values is one minor functionality, hence buz is anticipating app shdn't be depend on db status. If db is up app shd validate with db values otherwise continue with the rest of the validations.
Temporarily to run the app locally, when db is down, we removed the connection info from connections.xml.
    Thanks.

  • Displaying Jobs Status and Logs without using SM37

    Hello All,
First of all, thanks a lot for your time.
We're being asked by the Audit Team to remove tcode SM37 from our Job Roles. Although I agree with them that users should not have "change" or broad display access for the tcode, some of them need to check other user's Jobs status, as well as their Job Logs (which I have managed to restrict using auth. object S_BTCH_JOB).
My question is: do you know if there's any alternative way or a transaction different than SM37 to display other user's Jobs status and Job Logs?
We're providing SMX for user's own jobs, but I have not been able to find an alternative way than using a restricted version of SM37 for displaying other people's Jobs status and Job Logs.
    Best regards,
    CMPT

You can either create your own monitor locally ( see transaction RZ20) or develop it on your own (see FM BP_JOB_STATUS_GET).
If you want to use SM37 then you can add SHOW to S_BTCH_JOB but this might be problematic in combination with RELE (of their own jobs).
[SAP Note 568963|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/568963] will be able to help you further.
    Cheers,
    Julius

  • Package in invalid status - compiles ok

I created a package having 2 procedures. The package compiles fine, no errors found. My "SELECT * FROM all_objects" shows the package with STATUS=INVALID.
If I try to call a procedure in the package Says "ORA-06575 Package or function is in an invalid state."
I've tried recompiling the package: "ALTER PACKAGE PKAXINT COMPILE BODY", but to no avail. And the key point being there is absolutely no compilation errors...

The installation went well (I had to copy old libraries - namely, libexpat.so.0.5.0 and libgdbm.so.2.0.0 - from a previous version of SLES + ldconfig) and I was able to get to the login prompt but as soon as I entered the "root" password I got "Invalid credentials".
I tried again (in my test environment, the root password is VERY simple) but no dice; I checked the root password by logging into the system using SSH and it worked fine.
I tried with different local accounts (eg, ttaserv and ttasys) but got the same message.
Please notice that, under the very same piece of HW but using a SLES10-SP1 *32bit* under XEN, everything works as expected so it seems a 64bit OS related issue.
    Thanks,
    Rob

    Casper,
Can you please try the following.
On the protected server please try to remove the account and remove the DPM agent. Reboot, after that please manually reinstall the DPM agent on the protected server -
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh757789.aspx.  Run the setdpmserver command and after completing successfully check the account to ensure the following.
    1) It is set for the password not to expire and user cannot change password
    2) Is included in the following groups, DCOM Distributed Users, DPMRADCOMTrustedMachines, and DPMRADmTrustedMachines.
If that all checks out, please goto the DPM console and tried to attach from the DPM console first and then try the powershell command if the console errors out.
Here are some other things to check as well:
Step 1) Ensure NTLM is working - UNC from DPM to PS and back
Step 2) Ensure DCOM is enabled on protected server - Type DCOMCNFG > Computers > My Computer, right click and select properties, go to Default Properties and ensure "Enable Distributed COM on this computer" is checked
Step 3) Ensure all firewalls have needed ports open -
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh758204.aspx
Step 4) Ensure user account is set to never expire and user cannot change password
Step 5) Try attach from DPM console first then DPM powershell
If that still does not work please ensure you are on the latest DPM patch and try again.
For DPM2012 SP1 that is DPM3.6(Note: you will need to have RU3 installed prior)
