At least once a day on my work PC Desktop I will type in Yahoo.com or Amazon.com or any other valid popular website and all of a sudden I get the "Security Exception" error message and when I select to confirm it I then get:
"Invalid URL
The requested URL "/", is invalid.

At that point I cannot access that website at all. Then I have to clear all history and restart my computer, at least once a day and hope it works. I've scanned the support forum and I have done everything they suggest: disabled all add-ons (not that I even have any), reset Firefox, restart in safe-mode. Nothing works, it's very frustrating. It completely interrupts my workday. HELP!!

Hmmm, there are some issues on certain sites caused by the new Autofill feature that suggests a URL in the address bar. When this happens, are you pressing Enter to accept a suggestion?

As I understand:
The procedure works.
The link 'appears' to work. (ie you saw the procedure run a 2nd at the database level)
But it doesn't actually work (because you get a 404)
I think I ran into an issue, on a completely different page type, that produced an 'error 404'. (I can't seem to reproduce it, though)
The only way I discovered what was really going on was with an HTTP sniffer. (eg HTTPFox for FireFox)
Through that, I noticed that the browser was (for some reason) calling a completely non-sensible APEX page. (hence the PAGE NOT FOUND error)
My solution was to add a "submit to self" branch point.
If that doesn't work, I'm at a loss.

I used to be able to access a certain website I goto almost everyday, by just finding the name in google search and clicking on the link found. Now for the past few days everytime I click on the link, I get this message:

You can try basic steps like these in case of issues with web pages:

I gave firefox 3.6.6 what I think is a properly formatted URL, namely http://www.3dfx.com. Firefox changes this to http://www.3dfx.com/ I think the added / indicates it got a response from the URL I gave but then it says The requested URL "/", is invalid.

Here's a (maybe THE) solution, assuming you have the HTTPS Everywhere add-on installed. If not, then this will probably be of no help at all (sorry).
I was having this exact issue, only when attempting to reach the Washington Post website, which had always worked for me without problems before. I received this error message:
The requested URL "/", is invalid.
To make matters even more confusing, I could reach the desired web site (using the same URL--http://www.washingtonpost.com) on the same PC using Internet Explorer, and on another PC using Firefox.
After an annoying search, Googling this error message, and trying a variety of suggested remedies, I was finally able to resolve the problem by changing the settings for the Firefox add-on HTTPS Everywhere.
In Firefox, click on the Tools menu, then select Add-ons, then click on HTTPS Everywhere and click on the Options button. The HTTPS Everywhere Preferences screen will appear asking, "Which HTTPS redirection rules should apply?"
Uncheck the website you're having the problem with and click OK. That should solve the problem. At least, for me it ended the problem immediately, without restarting Firefox, my PC, my router, or any of the other "remedies" I had tried during my earlier troubleshooting efforts.

How to handle invalid URLs in the requests

Currently JSF ignores invalid characters in the request URLs like "|" or "<script>". These characters can be a security issue and can lead to "Cross site scripting" issue.
I am trying to parse the request URLs and then redirect the user to the error page if the URL contains such invalid characters.
Is there a better way of handling such characters in the URL?
One way that i have thought of is to implement the PhaseListener and handle the URLs in the "Restore view" phase but the drawback in this
implementation is that the controll will come to this listener during all the phases of the JSF life cycle. I just want the request to be handled only once and not during all the phases of JSF.

Our application has too many customizations around the JSF framework and we have our own limitations extending the base "FacesServlet". It would be better if i can extend the listeners in the JSF framework.

Adobe Form Error: Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized. The request...

When trying to run an Adobe Form webdynpro app, I am receiving the following error:
Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized. The requested URL was:"http://localhost:50000/AdobeDocumentServices/Config?style=document"
I have checked the ADS test at <server:port>/AdobeDocumentServices/Config; the test did return the version number.
Does anyone have any other ideas of what I should check?
Also, why is it running a url with "localhost" in it? If this is running on the java was server, then I guess that could make sense. But if the url request is requesting something from localhost, isn't that my computer? I guess it depends on if this is a server request or a client request. I hope this is a server request.

First, I think config is okay. I can run the web service under my id okay.
Second, I am not sure what the impact is having the build done locally.
I am building and deploying locally in NWDS to my local portal. But then I am sending the EAR file to the system admin to deploy to my dev server (I am doing this because they will not give out the SDM password. And, I am waiting on the NWDI setup to be complete; when that is complete I will let NWDI deploy to the dev portal.)
Incidentally, I am receiving this error on the dev server, not my local portal. (I have tried running on my local portal, but I am getting a socket timeout error. But this is interesting, because I can run other webdynpro non-Adobe apps. I am not tracking down this error at this point because I am really just interested in the dev server. If I get past the 401 error on the dev server, and then get the socket timout issue...then I will worry about it.)

My iphone wont let me play songs that I bought from iTunes. It says "The requested URL was not found on this server" How can i play my music also my music videos again?

I bought a few songs and music videos from iTunes, then all of a sudden it wouldn't play and would just skip to the next song. With the music videos it would do the same. Also, this message would show up " The Requested URL could not be found on this server" What does that exactly mean? And what do I need to do to play my music/videos again?
