  • 700p suddenly gives invalid user/password message when trying to get new mail

My Yahoo Mail Plus account is working fine. When I use versamail on the Palm Treo 700p to retrieve emails from my active Yahoo account, I get "-ERR(Auth)invalid user/password" message. I can access my Yahoo Mail account from the "Web" app on my treo.
So it is definitely a VersaMail issue. This happened after it had been getting new mail (and sending) successfully.
    Can anyone help?
Post relates to: Treo 700p (Verizon)

unfortunately Yahoo and their Branded contracts just don't work as advertised and neither the ISPs Nor Yahoo appear in the slightest bit interested.
If you delete the popstate.dat file in the profile folder in the yahoo server directory, it will restart the download again from the top (Everything)
You might also find that disabling email scanning in your anti virus program may be beneficial. (Could it be McAfee?)
The majority of RETR complaints here are from ATT and BT users, both of whom get McAfee given in by their ISP.

  • Erroneous invalid username/password message

A user gets invalid username/password but the user exists, the password is correct, it doesn't lock the account via ppolicy, and if you change the account by one letter it works. Has anyone seen this before?
It's like it doesn't know about the account, but it clearly in ODM and OIDDAS.
    thanks

can you pls be a bit more specific about your environment and what you're trying to do?

  • Change invalid user password message

I need to customize the page when a user enters an invalid username or password. When a user enteres an invalid username or password I want to have the user to be in the same page with a message that says, "you entered an invalid username or password". Currently, it goes to a separate page (SSO) and ask for a username and password again. I already customized the login/logout. Any ideas on what I can do to change this?
    Thanks,
    Marcelo

I have found the solution for the right command:
    Net use
    10.**.*.*\sapall /user:****
B************     <- the Password in a new line!
    copy
    ********\sapall\****.txt
    10.*.*.**\sapall

  • Invalide userid/password

I am using a coworker's userid and password to post this message. I've been having trouble with my account in OTN. The userid and password that is sent to me does not work, even if it is the same one that I use for Metalink. My email is [email protected] Can you please fix my account?
    thanks,

The username 'elsaorcl' should now be working fine.

  • Invalid username / password message from Boingo

I'm having trouble connecting to Boingo hotspots.  From the Boingo front page I can select the btopenzone partner login, but I'm asked to enter my username "including @btopenzone.com".  I enter my BTFON username which ends @btinternet.com and my usual password but this is rejected by Boingo as invalid.  I've double checked that I'm using the correct username / password combination by logging into the BTFON account details site.  Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be, or even where to report/escalate this problem??
    Thanks
    Mike

You cannot use partner sites like Boingo, they are not part of the BT FON/Openzone package for BT Broadband users.
Only paying BTOpenzone users can use third party hotspots.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.

  • Invalid username and password message is coming from oracle forms 11g

    Hi,
Genrally we unlock and reset the password for locked oracle account and then we make password as expiered so that user will get prompt password change while logging into application. But recently we have made our password policy as case senstive. Now user is getting password exipred message and application is prompting to change password window, but even if user is giving correct password invalid username password message is coming (ORA-01017).To overcome this I have tried same case password but no success. I am able to change the password from sql plus
Please let me any changes need to carried out on application server side.

  • Setting up Sync on new Android device it tells me invalid account/password yet Account and password work on my Mac computer version and my other android phone

I have a MAC computer with Sync. Was set up under sync Beta. I have an Android phone synced to it that was synced using the pair this device function. It works perfectly. I just got a new Android Tablet and am trying to add it to my sync and it does not seem to have the pair my device function. It insists I log into my sync account. So I try it and it tells me invalid userid/password. I verify and it is the exact email address userid that shows as being my sync account on the MAC. I verify the password on the MAC and it tests out fine. Try the tablet again and invalid.. So I try to reset my password on the tablet and am told my email address/account name does not exist. I just verified it AND Synced my MAC using it!! I have my recovery Key but there is no place to input it into the tablet. There is no place on tablet to enter the link device codes. How can my account be valid and in use on two devices but invalid and nonexistant on the new one? And How do I get the New one to sync with other two?
Been a week and not a single sign of any help or support. Not what a good trend considering how long I have been using and recommending Firefox. Is this the support can look forward to in the future?

ok.. I tried this three times and kept getting that access denied thing when I clicked post my questions. So now maybe I wont have to typ this a fifth time....

    Hi,
Ok i will do in future.
I did as you said but issue is still coming. Now the error is bit different in the log file For this same error i found solution in meta doc id 337260.1 for exact error In the solution i have to to set the value as below but it has already same value.
    Error:

CONFIG: Failed to update account status.
    oracle.sysman.assistants.util.sqlEngine.SQLFatalErrorException: ORA-01034: ORACL
    E not available
    Solution:
In order to fix the Invalid username/password message
Check the profile limit for the users SYSMAN, DBSNMP and MGMT_VIEW
    select u.username, u.profile, p.resource_name, p.limit
    from dba_profiles p, dba_users u
    where p.profile=u.profile
    and u.username in ('SYS', 'SYSMAN','DBSNMP','MGMT_VIEW')
    and p.resource_type = 'PASSWORD'
    order by u.username, p.resource_name;
If the value of LIMIT for PASSWORD_VERIFY_FUNCTION is not NULL:
Change the password so that it meets the function requirements.
If the value of LIMIT for PASSWORD_REUSE_MAX is not UNLIMITED:
Change the password so that it is different from a password that has already been used the number of times set in PASSWORD_REUSE_MAX.
    Or
Change the value of LIMIT for PASSWORD_REUSE_MAX to UNLIMITED for the profile.
    Below output of 1st query:
    USERNAME     PROFILE     RESOURCE_NAME     LIMIT
    DBSNMP     DEFAULT     FAILED_LOGIN_ATTEMPTS     UNLIMITED

Problem connecting wirelessly from iMac to NETGEAR router, get invalid password message with WPA and WPA-2 encryption in place but if I remove them, so no security, can connect without a problem. Help!!

Thank you for your suggestion but I have already had a couple of phone sessions with NETGEAR support and they don't see any problems with the router settings etc. They referred me to Apple support, who helped me discover that it is possible to communicate with the router but only if I turn off the encryption/security software, which I don't want to do. The frustrating thing is that I can connect wirelessly from a laptop running Windows 7 and two Anroid smart phones, with WPA-2 in place, without a problem. Do you have any other ideas?

  • On starting up firefox i am getting an error message from javascript application telling me that my username is an invalid username/password combination. If i continue to get this error message, try entering my email address as my username.

Hi,on starting firefox which i have used solely as my browser for years i am now getting an error message from java script application that shows my username followed by a message saying; 'username'-Invalid username/password combination. If you keep getting this error, try entering your email address as your username'. I then press the OK button within that error message box and it dissapears and everything seems ok although hover my cursor over the mail(envelope) icon and it says not connected.
I only started having this problem since downloading firefox 4.It also does not tell me where this problem is occuring so i do not know where to log on with this information.I would be most grateful for any help with this matter. Many thanks.

Take a look in the Error Console for details about that.
    Tools > Error Console <br />
Right-click the message and use '''Copy''' to get that complete message.

  • False "Invalid User Name or PAssword" message

Trying to restart my iMac with another user logged in I get a dialog telling me so and that I therefore need to enter an admin user name and password. When I do so I get "Invalid User name and Password" message even though the user name and password are correct admin's. I even changed them and the same thing happens. What's up?
    Thanks for any help.

You may have the 'Loss of admin privileges syndrome'. The warning may not mean . the password is invalid but that it is not for what is now an admin. I and many others have had this from Leopard.
Try this, even if you have not enabled root do so now only to disable it after the exercise.
Insert the install DVD in any user. Restart holding down the 'c' key. Wait whilst the machine boots from the DVD. START (only) the install. When you have selected a language, do not proceed to install but pick fro one of the top menus the option in (utilities?) to re set password.
Choose to re set the root password. Think of a good long password with upper/ lower case letters/numbers/ and Shift+top line normal kb characters such as $.
Note said PW. Now choose from the top menus to reboot and reboot from HD. Remove DVD and login to root using PW just set.
In root go into System Preferences, choose accounts pane. Unlock the lock icon using if need be the root id and root PW. Highlight the 'errant' admin. Tick the little square box marked 'allow to administer computer, if it is not already ticked. If you have more than one admin (a good idea to have a reserve, admins can go wrong) repeat the 'tick' process with each.
Log out of root and into a normal admin. Go to directory services and you should find in the top menu and option to disable root. You did just enable it. Disable it.
My recived wisdom is it is better to have a root that has been enabled>> passworded>> disabled, than have a default of a disabled unpassworded root. It is worst to have a continuously enabled.
You now have an admin enabled to admin. If you still have a problem it may well be an invalid password. So come back.
This problem and the one of an (apparent) comnplete los of the admin account are plagueing these forums. If you hav not already done so upgrade to 10.5.2. Make sure you repair permissions before and after aqnd remove haxies first etc.

  • SSO authtication doesnt show "invalid password" message

    We have 2 SSO servers
In once, if the user enters invalid password, then same page comes up with message "invalid username/password"
    This is the expected behaviour
In other, same page comes up, but without any message
This is misleading and the user keeps thinking why he is not able to proceed without realizing that the password was incorrect
I am sure this is related to some settings
But dont know what needs to be changed
Or what shall I compare bteween the server where its working fine as against the server, where it doesnt show up the right message
    Please suggest

So, I assume then that your login page is ok. You tried it and it was there, but you are not being redirected to this page. Can you try re-registering your site using the SSO registration tool. For example:
    e.g. for unix:
    $ORACLE_HOME/sso/bin/ssoreg.sh \
    -site_name application.oracle.com \
    -host ukp16016.uk.oracle.com -port 1521 -sid iasdb \
    -success_url http://application.oracle.com:7779/osso_login_success \
    -cancel_url http://application.oracle.com:7779 \
    -logout_url http://application.oracle.com:7779/osso_logout_success \
    -home_url http://application.oracle.com:7779 \
    -config_mod_osso TRUE \
    -oracle_home_path $ORACLE_HOME \
    -u root \
    -sso_server_version v1.2 \
    -verbose TRUE
e.g. for Windows (with no line breaks):
    %ORACLE_HOME%\sso\bin\ssoreg.bat
    -site_name application.oracle.com
-host ukp16016.uk.oracle.com -port 1521 -sid iasdb
    -success_url http://application.oracle.com:7779/osso_login_success
    -cancel_url http://application.oracle.com:7779
    -logout_url http://application.oracle.com:7779/osso_logout_success
    -home_url http://applicationk.oracle.com:7779
    -config_mod_osso TRUE
    -oracle_home_path %ORACLE_HOME%
    -u system
    -sso_server_version v1.2
    -verbose TRUE
    2. If this OHS should protect any URLs in addition to /oiddas edit the mod_osso.conf file at this point.
    3. Then update the DCM repository for the appropriate Apache server:
    Unix:
    $ORACLE_HOME/dcm/bin/dcmctl updateconfig -ct OHS -v
    Windows:
    %ORACLE_HOME%\dcm\bin\dcmctl updateconfig -ct OHS -v
    4. Now restart the instance:
    Unix:
    $ORACLE_HOME/dcm/bin/dcmctl stop -v
    $ORACLE_HOME/dcm/bin/dcmctl start -v
    Windows:
    %ORACLE_HOME%\dcm\bin\dcmctl stop -v
    %ORACLE_HOME%\dcm\bin\dcmctl start -v
If you have metalink access, this is covered in Note:249408.1

  • "Invalid Password" Message from Network

My 1 year old Time Capsule has been working perfectly since I bought it. Now all of a sudden I don't get logged in automatically to my network. In addition, I can't connect to my network manually; when I try it asks for my password (that Airport Utility stored in my Keychain) and when I type it in I get a "Invalid Password" message. I have tried plugging in to the TC with an Ethernet cable & resetting/changing the password to something new, turning off the security, pressing the reset button for 1 second & 5 seconds, resetting the TC to factory settings & setting up again but to no avail. I have removed & re-added my network from my preferred lists, deleted & redone my Keychains, begged, wheedled and threatened it with a list of dire fates but all with no joy. I can see my network there, with the little lock image, but cannot get in. Airport Utility won't even see my TC unless I'm physically plugged in with an ethernet cable.
Additional info: Maybe no coincidence, but three days ago I got a 4G wireless internet modem and plugged it into the TC. Until then I'd had no internet at home and had the TC happily ignoring this. When I got the modem and plugged it in, Airport Utility asked me to change it to 'Bridge Mode' (that I've tried undoing) and then I was wirelessly online. The modem ran perfectly through the TC for the 1st couple of days and I could still print wirelessly through my attached printer. All was well in the kingdom, when all of a sudden everything went pear-shaped yesterday and no matter what I try I cannot make things whole again.
    Can anyone help please????
    Alec

Okay, the problem's changed. I turned on my old 12" MBP and found that it was still happily chatting away with the network, printing etc. I compared the two System Profilers & found that the IPv4 had gone to PPP (Not sure what that means or how I changed it) so went back & changed it to DHCP. All of a sudden I was back to being on my network & I was able to back-up with Time Machine. Then I replugged in the 4G modem, the light went amber and when I went to Airport Utility it told me that it was reporting a problem. It said something about double NAT (???) and suggested I went into 'bridge mode', which I duly did. After the TC rebooted itself I was back on the network, so far so good...
Now, however, I can't back-up with TM. It gives me a 'backup disk not available' message. When I try to look at things in Airport Utility, it can see my TC but just hangs on 'Reading the Time Capsule configuration' before giving me a (-6753) 'Make sure your Apple wireless device is plugged in and in range of your computer or connected via Ethernet and try again' message.
Is it something to do with the 'Bridge Mode' thingy? Does it mean that I can either have my wireless backup, or my internet but not both?
PS Oh, and I can't print over the network either, and when I try to print over on my old MBP it says 'Device in use, waiting...'
PPS Aaargh, and my old MBP can talk to the TC via Airport Utility. Does this mean it's a problem with my new MBP, or is it a Snow Leopard thing?
