Invalid Username / Password while connecting to a Wi-Fi network
Hi,
I cannot connect to the wi-fi network from the Hotel. On the first day it worked perfectly, today it didn't.
It is not a secured (WPA) wifi but after the connection, need to open the browser to enter login and password.
I have a laptop that is connected to the same wi-fi and it is working.
Checked several times login and password, tried to forget network and the reconnect, tried to turn the cell off and then turn it on.
Any suggestions?
When you are connecting through a hotels WiFi like this they may occasionally require you to login via a home web page, this is quite normal. In many cases the password for this will be provided at checkin and with this being the case it would be worth speaking with the front desk to see if they can assist you with this.

Invalid Username/Password While login BI answers
Hi all,
I have deployed repository and restart all services. I can access admin console and Enterprise manager but i could not access analytics.
Pls help me out
Thanks in advance.Hi
I guess, you didn't give proper repository password(not weblogic password) while you're deploying rpd in em.
What is your log file (NQServer.log) saying?
Login to EM, go to Security > credential store > oracle.bi.enterprise > locate current repository key then edit it to enter proper password -

Invalid username/password when running VSM1.3
Hi, I have the issue of invalid username/password when running VSM 1.3.
When I ran authentication.java , I got the error as follow:
oracle: Exception thrown from getService method of ServiceLocator class: Lookup error:javax.naming.AuthenticationException:Invalid username/password for current-workspace-app(admin);nested exception is: javax.naming.AuthenticationException:Invalid username/password for current-workspace-app(admin)
When running the web app, I got same message "Invalid username/password ".
I checked the database. There are 4 records for admin,apparelowner,electowner and guest.
My oracle db has japanese character set.
I have read all the threads about the topic of VSM.
But unfortunately I didn't find a clear conclusion and solution for this issue.
Is it an issue of locale? Really appreciate your reply.

"ORA-1017: invalid username/password; logon denied"
I am running Oracle Database 11g R1.
Oracle.DataAcess.dll 10.2
My code as below:
string oradb = "Data Source=orcldemo;User ID=HR;Password=hr;";
OracleConnection conn = new OracleConnection(oradb);
conn.Open();
I keep on getting error:
"ORA-1017: invalid username/password; logon denied"
But if I tried to access from the same host using Oracle SQL Developer ver 1.2 and using the same username and password then I have no problem at all.
Any help? Thanks
Ming ManThis is what I found on Metalink
Applies to:
Oracle Data Provider for .NET - Version: 9.2.0.8.0 to 10.2.0.3.0
Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
Symptoms
You are trying to connect to 11g database using 10g ODP.NET (or lower version) and you receive
ORA-1017 - invalid username /password
While using 11g ODP.NET or 10g sqlplus ,this problem does not occur.
Cause
Whenever we send the passwords using 10g ODP.NET ,it converts them into all upper cases.
Prior to 11g database , the passwords were case-insensitive.
So sending all-capital password would not cause problem there.
However, from 11g onwards , passwords are case sensitive.
Hence when ODP.NET sends all-capital password to a 11g database , password validation fails and results in the ORA-1017 error.
This issue is reported in an internal bug .The bug number is not revealed for confidentiality policy reasons. The backport request has been created for 10.2 and 10.1 but the patch was not available at the time of writing this note.
Solution
There are several solutions for this issue:
Configure the database to not support case-sensitivity in passwords.
Create all-capital passwords
Pass a lowercase password by wrapping the password field in quotes.
e.g.
("Data Source=ORCL;User ID=scott;Password = \"tiger\"");
The bug is also fixed in the 10.2.0.4.0 Oracle Database Patch 6810189. -

Can you connect via sqlplus using the new password? -- sqlplus ar/<ar new password>
If yes, then run the script that failed manually via sqlplus and make sure it runs successfully then skip the failed worker via adctrl.

I see a couple of problems assuming you are working with a currently supported version:
1. Never grant CONNECT to anyone: Ever. Grant CREATE SESSION.
2. GRANT CREATE TABLE to AQ;
Go to Morgan's Library at www.psoug.org and look at AQ Demo 1. You should have no problem cutting and pasting your way to where you are trying to go. -

Unable to connect (invalid username/password)
Hi there.
I have major problems with connecting to iFS. The db and iFS is running on a remot machine under solaris and i use a windows nt machine. I use iFS 1.1, jdk 1.3 and the jdbc driver for jdk 1.2 that is provided by the oracle website. I am sure that the username and the password are right. Is there a special Here is the code i use for connecting:
LibraryService ls = new LibraryService();
LibrarySession session = null;
CleartextCredential me = new CleartextCredential(user, password);
ConnectOptions connect = new ConnectOptions();
connect.setLocale(Locale.getDefault());
connect.setServiceName(service);
connect.setServicePassword(password);
session = ls.connect(me, connect);
And here is the exception:

Also please try with JDBC11 and let me know if this works -

Invalid username/password connecting to deployed session EJB (to OAS)
Hello,
OAS version : 9.0.4.0.0
JDeveloper version : 10.1.2.0.0 (Build 1811)
I have generated a very simple session EJB with the EJB
Diagram : business logic is only a method returning a
"hello world" String (no DB connection).
Next i have generated a "New Sample Java Client" to test
that, first connecting to the Embedded OC4J and it worked
very well.
Then i wanted to deploy this small example to my OAS
server, so i created a new session EJB deployment profile.
Deployment worked very well too.
To test this, i generated another "New Sample Java
Client", but that time i choosed "Connect to Remote App
Server", with adequate J2EE application and App Server
Connection names.
I took note of the new context lines. Login/password
strings were automatically filled with the ones i use to
connect to OEM Website (lets say the_login/the_password).
But unfortunately, when i launch the client, it doesn't
work. Here is the error stack :
C:\jdev1012\jdk\bin\javaw.exe -ojvm -classpath C:\dev\jdev\mywork\DarkWork\DarkProject\classes;C:\jdev1012\jdev\lib\jdev-rt.jar;C:\jdev1012\j2ee\home\lib\activation.jar;C:\jdev1012\j2ee\home\lib\ejb.jar;C:\jdev1012\j2ee\home\lib\jaas.jar;C:\jdev1012\j2ee\home\lib\jaxp.jar;C:\jdev1012\j2ee\home\lib\jcert.jar;C:\jdev1012\j2ee\home\lib\jdbc.jar;C:\jdev1012\j2ee\home\lib\jms.jar;C:\jdev1012\j2ee\home\lib\jndi.jar;C:\jdev1012\j2ee\home\lib\jnet.jar;C:\jdev1012\j2ee\home\lib\jsse.jar;C:\jdev1012\j2ee\home\lib\jta.jar;C:\jdev1012\j2ee\home\lib\mail.jar;C:\jdev1012\j2ee\home\lib\servlet.jar;C:\jdev1012\j2ee\home\oc4j.jar;C:\jdev1012\opmn\lib\optic.jar;C:\jdev1012\lib\xmlparserv2.jar;C:\jdev1012\lib\xmlcomp.jar mypackage1.SessionEJBClient

Do you know what i can do to solve this problem ?
I saw several posts on this forum about that problem,
mostly in 2003, so perhaps it has been solved now.
I tried the solutions and workarounds mentioned in those
post, but the error is still there...
Thank you for your help ! :-)When you are connecting through a hotels WiFi like this they may occasionally require you to login via a home web page, this is quite normal. In many cases the password for this will be provided at checkin and with this being the case it would be worth speaking with the front desk to see if they can assist you with this.

Unable to connect to Oracle Applications database invalid username/password
Hi,
Ou Requirement is we want to connect to Oracle Applications using discoverer plus and discoverer viewer.
Application Server used : 10.1.2.0.2
Oracle Applications : R12 RUP4
We have installed application server 10g with OID and when we try to connect to oracle applications we are getting
A connection error has occurred.
- Failed to connect to database - Unable to connect to Oracle Applications database: invalid username/password.
Regards
KetanHi,
I think better to check with your sysadmin or DBA on this, I had the same isuse before but Apps 11i with Discoverer, I talked to ERP sysadmin and worked fine.
Since applications userid cannot talk with Discoverer schema (eul10_us) and it should directly talk with APPS user and then APPS user can talk with Discoverer user.
To the best of my knowledge I provided.

*******************************************************************************Thanks for your response. I read the documents that you recommended. This looks like the same issue described in bug 6650342 which was fixed in v. 2.08 when 10g iAS was still being used. Could the same thing be happening with EPG? The MW account got locked after I retried the operation multiple times. The runtime details shows '$EOF_COMMON/buildftp.sh' as the script being run.
Here is the error message that I received:
