Invalid Username/Password While login BI answers

Hi all,
I have deployed repository and restart all services. I can access admin console and Enterprise manager but i could not access analytics.
Pls help me out
Thanks in advance.

Hi
I guess, you didn't give proper repository password(not weblogic password) while you're deploying rpd in em.
What is your log file (NQServer.log) saying?
Login to EM, go to Security > credential store > oracle.bi.enterprise > locate current repository key then edit it to enter proper password

  • Invalid Username / Password while connecting to a Wi-Fi network

    Hi,
I cannot connect to the wi-fi network from the Hotel. On the first day it worked perfectly, today it didn't.
It is not a secured (WPA) wifi but after the connection, need to open the browser to enter login and password.
I have a laptop that is connected to the same wi-fi and it is working.
Checked several times login and password, tried to forget network and the reconnect, tried to turn the cell off and then turn it on.
    Any suggestions?

When you are connecting through a hotels WiFi like this they may occasionally require you to login via a home web page, this is quite normal. In many cases the password for this will be provided at checkin and with this being the case it would be worth speaking with the front desk to see if they can assist you with this.

  • Invalid username/password  when running VSM1.3

Hi, I have the issue of invalid username/password when running VSM 1.3.
When I ran authentication.java , I got the error as follow:
oracle: Exception thrown from getService method of ServiceLocator class: Lookup error:javax.naming.AuthenticationException:Invalid username/password for current-workspace-app(admin);nested exception is: javax.naming.AuthenticationException:Invalid username/password for current-workspace-app(admin)
When running the web app, I got same message "Invalid username/password ".
I checked the database. There are 4 records for admin, apparelowner, electowner and guest.
My oracle db has japanese character set.
I have read all the threads about the topic of VSM.
But unfortunately I didn't find a clear conclusion and solution for this issue.
Is it an issue of locale? Really appreciate your reply.

  • "ORA-1017: invalid username/password; logon denied"

    I am running Oracle Database 11g R1.
    Oracle.DataAcess.dll 10.2
    My code as below:
    string oradb = "Data Source=orcldemo;User ID=HR;Password=hr;";
    OracleConnection conn = new OracleConnection(oradb);
    conn.Open();
    I keep on getting error:
    "ORA-1017: invalid username/password; logon denied"
But if I tried to access from the same host using Oracle SQL Developer ver 1.2 and using the same username and password then I have no problem at all.
    Any help? Thanks
    Ming Man

This is what I found on Metalink
    Applies to:
Oracle Data Provider for .NET - Version: 9.2.0.8.0 to 10.2.0.3.0
    Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
    Symptoms
You are trying to connect to 11g database using 10g ODP.NET (or lower version) and you receive
    ORA-1017 - invalid username /password
While using 11g ODP.NET or 10g sqlplus ,this problem does not occur.
    Cause
Whenever we send the passwords using 10g ODP.NET ,it converts them into all upper cases.
Prior to 11g database , the passwords were case-insensitive.
So sending all-capital password would not cause problem there.
However, from 11g onwards , passwords are case sensitive.
Hence when ODP.NET sends all-capital password to a 11g database , password validation fails and results in the ORA-1017 error.
This issue is reported in an internal bug .The bug number is not revealed for confidentiality policy reasons. The backport request has been created for 10.2 and 10.1 but the patch was not available at the time of writing this note.
    Solution
There are several solutions for this issue:
Configure the database to not support case-sensitivity in passwords.
    Create all-capital passwords
Pass a lowercase password by wrapping the password field in quotes.
    e.g.
    ("Data Source=ORCL;User ID=scott;Password = \"tiger\"");
The bug is also fixed in the 10.2.0.4.0 Oracle Database Patch 6810189.

  • IPhone deploy gets Login Error (Invalid username/password).  Android works

Hi, we're developing an ADF Mobile app on JDeveloper 11.1.2.3 which does initial authentication against Weblogic.
The login & app works fine on Android, but fails when we deploy the same app to iPhone (iOS 5.0.1, but also 5.1, 6.0 & 6.1 in the Simulator).
    Specific message is :
    Login Error
Invalid username/password. If the problem persists, please contact your system administrator.
It's definitely on the network and reaching the login server, because when we shut down the server or make the network unavailable, the message reports "The login server is not reachable"
All I can think is it's possibly encrypting the password differently within iOS.
Not having much luck on Google or other searches, so any thoughts are appreciated.
    Thanks
    Peter

I found a bit more information in the Weblogic Managed Server logs proving the login request reaches the server, but gives this error. Not much luck on google so, if this rings any bells for anyone thoughts are appreciated.

Can you connect via sqlplus using the new password? -- sqlplus ar/<ar new password>
If yes, then run the script that failed manually via sqlplus and make sure it runs successfully then skip the failed worker via adctrl.

Go to Morgan's Library at www.psoug.org and look at AQ Demo 1. You should have no problem cutting and pasting your way to where you are trying to go.

  • Answers result: ORA-01017 Invalid username/password

I've specified SH in "Shared logon", but got ORA-01017 Invalid username/password on Answers' result. I found it's trying to access the database as administrator, instead of SH. I can bypass the error by creating a new user SH on Admin Tool, or creating a new user ADMINISTRATOR on database. What do I miss?

I can do import, update row count in Admin Tools. When I logon as "administrator" in Analytics (Presentation service), the database shows user SH logging in. When I create a query and click on "Result" tab, the database shows "administrator" as the logon user and got ORA-01017 error because "administrator" is not a database user. When I say "database shows", it is the audit trail I turn on to audit who log in to db. If I create a user SH in Admin Tool, and log on as SH on Analytics instead of "administrator", I can get query result because SH is a valid db account and owns the tables. Hope this explain my problem.

few things you can check :
    a) Is there a password file ? Is the password correct in it ?
    b) SYSDBA remote login is disabled. remote_login_passwordfile is not set to EXCLUSIVE in the spfile or init.ora.
    Set: remote_login_passwordfile= EXCLUSIVE
    Create a password file:
    Unix: $
    orapwd file=$ORACLE_HOME/dbs/orapw$ORACLE_SID password=sys entries=5
    Windows:
    C:\> orapwd file=%ORACLE_HOME%\database\pwd%ORACLE_SID% password= sys entries=5
To synchronize the password for sys for normal connections and connections as sysdba connect as a sysdba user and reset the sys password:
    $ sqlplus "/ as sysdba" SQL> ALTER USER SYS IDENTIFIED BY change_on_install;

  • ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied. but SQLPLUS works

"ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied" when attempting to log on to db, in three different applications. Error is observed in Toad, Crystal Reports, and MS ODBC Administrator connect test. However, same db credentials work in SQLPLUS.
Customer is attempting to log into reporting database hosted by my company, and using Cisco VPN client.
I am unable to reproduce this at this time, on my machine, using same credentials and VPN profile.
    Here is what we know/tried:
    1. PING HOSTNAME is successful on CUSTOMER’S machine
    2. TNSPING HOSTNAME is successful on CUSTOMER’S machine
    3. SQLPLUS is successful with USER2/(pw)@HOSTNAME.int on CUSTOMER’S machine
    4. We corrected timeout error on CUSTOMER’S side, by adding TCP.CONNECT_TIMEOUT=1000 in SQLNET.ORA (Also observed extremely slow performance on CUSTOMER SIDE)
    5. We corrected dns suffix problem on CUSTOMER’S side, observed in NSLOOKUP by
adding: IP ADDRESS AND HOSTNAME to Windows HOSTS file
and commenting out default suffix COMPANY.com from SQLNET.ORA file
    6. VPN configuration and VPN credentials are good.
We tested CUSTOMER’S VPN profle, CUSTOMER’S VPN credentials, and user USER2/(pw)@HOSTNAME on my machine (WIN7). I am able to maintain persistant connection to HOSTNAME for hours
    7. TNSNames entries are good. Able to connect to db in Toad, and Crystal, on CUSTOMER’S machine using different Oracle user, USER3 (only has grant connect). Unable to logon to db, with Oracle user USER1, or USER2. (USER2 was created to try to resolve login problem w USER1, but issue still exists.)
    8. CUSTOMER has Windows VISTA, does not have admin privileges, has Oracle 10 installed for client. Using same Cisco VPN client I have installed.
    9. Database on our servers is 11g
I suspect a configuration issue with CUSTOMER'S Vista machine, OR network, but not sure what to check.

Oracle is too dumb to lie.
make sure that Java is installed on same system as Crystal Report.
Then modify below to utilized your connection details to independently confirm connectivity independent of all other software.

  • ORA-01017 (invalid username/password) using globally authenticated account

    Kris and team,
Having a hard time believing no one else has encountered this already. But searching on 1017 and "globally" and "identified" in the forum yields nothing useful.
New corporate policy has all our DBAs, developers and QA logging into globally authenticated (against OID) accounts. Oracle docs call these accounts "global users". They are able to do so just fine using SQL*Plus, TOAD and PL/SQL Developer. But when we attempt the same in SQL Developer, different rules seem to be applied, and the user is told their username/password is invalid, which is not correct.
We have several hundred developers ready to use their new accounts in SQL Developer, but cannot. Would appreciate quick reply or patch on this.
btw, when I say "global user", I'm referring to accounts that are created in Oracle using the "identified globally as" syntax.
    Am I missing something?
Edited by: chromedome on Aug 9, 2010 1:49 PM

Thank you, this was helpful in that it caused me to try the other connection methods: Basic, TNS (as you mentioned on your blog), LDAP and Advanced, both with regular accounts and with global users, both with thin and thick drivers employed.
In all cases, using a normal Oracle account, I was able to connect.
But using a global user, with the thick/OCI client forced, I get the "Status: Failure -Test failed: oracle.jdbc.driver.T2Connection.t2cCreateState([BI[BI[BI[BI[BISI[S[B[BZ)I" message. And with the thin driver used, I get the "ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied" message. The possibility I have the password incorrect is non-existent as I'm both typing it in manually, and copying and pasting it, from successful global user connections in PL/SQL Developer and TOAD into SQL Developer.
SQL Developer 2.1.1.64 is not working using InstantClient 11.2 when attempting to login with a global user.
Sue/Kris, due I use "the site formerly known as Metalink" to log a bug, or are you already tackling this internally? We really need this patched soon.

  • Cisco Jabber Invalid Username/Password

    Hello All,
I am currently deploying CUCM 8.6 with CUP 8.6. The end users of CUP are synced to CUCM, which in turn synced to an OpenLDAP server. The synchronization is working properly i.e. users in CUCM also exist in CUP. However, when I tried to login into Jabber, it keeps giving me "Invalid Username/Password" error. I tried logging into Cisco Unified CM User Options (<ip address>/ccmuser) using the same credentials and succeeded. However, I failed to login to Cisco Unified Presence User Options (<ip address>/cupuser).
    Any help?
    Thank you

I had this exact same issue. Mine was due to a failover. Users were all moved to one server so about half were not working. In CUPS go to System -> Cluster Topology and expand the cluster. Look for Red Xs indicating an issue. Click one where it gives the number of assigned users. Do any say "Failed Over" and have that check box? The ones that do not likely are getting this message of invalid UN/PW. You can test this by pointing the jabber client directly at the working server (the server their name is not under in Cluster Topology). If this is your scenario look for errors and then try clicking the cluster to get "Subcluster Detail" page and click the "Failover" button on the server that has that option. The red X should disappear and the users should be on their subsequent server again and thus should be able to log in.
