Invalid year format while exporting into RTF

Hi
I drawn an Line chart which contains year as x axis and amount as y axis. Here i can able to format the amout field to comma seperated values but i cant able to format the year field. So i used the option "for each year" in order part of chart expert.
While exporting to RTF using the designer it was exported correctly by showing the year value as 2000,2001,2002,etc..
but while exporting the same using JRC the year values are exported like 00,01,02,etc..
Please can anyone help me in this.
Thanks
Jayaprakash

Ensure that the runtime files for the JRC are at their latest patch level,  many charting issues have been repaired with various fixes.
If it doesn't fix your issue, you will have to try playing around with the chart settings in the report; often there is a way to force fields to display a certain way.
The JRC has a different engine than the report designer, and the way the engine generates charts and graphs is not as mature as it is for Crystal Reports.
There is a new version of the JRC being released next year; this one will be using a different engine and will likely fix alot of the present chart issues that are being experienced.

    This looks like bug to me, Any suggestion?

    Hi Mohideen,
    Based on my research, the issue might be related to one of the following factors:
    Memory pressure. Check there is a memory challenge when the issue occurs. In addition, if the package runs in 32-bit runtime on the specific server, use the 64-bit runtime instead.
    A known issue with SQL Native Client. As a workaround, use .NET data provider instead of SNAC.
    Hope this helps.

  • Number format while export to excel

    Hi All,
    I have a report which contains measures with comma seperator which are fine in report but while export to excel the comma seperator hasn't been displaying in excel. But client wants to show the comma in excel
    any help greatly appreciate
    Thanks inadvance

    Hi,
    Please check first the regional settings of the client. If that is not set with a comma as decimal seperator then Excel won't show the data either with a comma as decimal seperator.

  • Diacritics disapear while exporting to RTF

    I am typesetting Croatian text, with lot of diacritics. When I export finished layout to RTF so I can import it back to Word or to some other text processor, these diacritis are repleced by some characters in wrong encodings. I am using InDesign CS5 (version 7.0.4) on Mac computer. The same thing happens with importing/pasting in Word, Pages, TextEdit, any e-mail program etc. Has anybody any idea about the solution?
    For those who are willing to play a little bit with this, here is the sample sentence in Croatian with some critical characters (čćžđš):
    "U zimskim mjesecima u toploj kuhinji djeca su pozorno slušala zanimljive priče iz starine, priče o duhovima i mrtvacima, o doživljenim događajima, kao i o događajima u kojima roditelji nisu sudjelovali, ali koje su se prepričavale u selu."
    Try to paste/input this sentence  in InDesign CS5, then export story to rtf, and then import the rtf in Word or Pages, or simply try to copy from InDesign and paste it to Word/Pages.
    I would appreciate any suggestions or solutions.

    Dear Joel,
    somehow I lost the contact with this thread, and I somehow used some ad hoc methods to help myself in those rare cases when I had to export anything from ID back to Word during last year. To my disapointment, today when I installed brand new CS6 and tried to export the text to epub and rtf- in all the three cases there was the same error: my source text in ID was
    čćžđšČĆŽĐŠ
    and what I have got in epub and rtf was:
    ËÊæπ»∆Æ–©
    and this happens with exporting as well as with copy-paste.
    Strangely enough, when I paste to another Adobe application there is no problem. Still more strange is that when I paste the text, for example in DW it is pasted corectly, then if I copy it from DW and paste it in Text Edit or Pages, for example, it goes without the problem. It really drives me crazy. I myself am not without experience with different typographies (devanagary, nastaliq) and I was very happy to see that the support for Devanagari is finally included in this new version of ID. But this problem with Croatian diactitics ramained mistery to me.
    (for your info, I was using Adobe Garamond Pro and couple of other fonts. They all went through bad, except Arial Unicode which gave almost exact result, messing just one character.)
    Thank you once more for your answer.

  • Invalid data format on EXPORTING table  to SQL-FLAT FILE (Insert type)

    Hi there!
    Writing from Slovenia/Europe.
    Working with ORACLE9i (standard version) on Windows XP with SQL-deloper 1.0.0.015.
    FIRST SQL.-DEVELOPER IS GOOD TOOL WITH SOME MINOR ERRORS.
    1.) Declare and Insert data EXAMPLE
    drop table tst_date;
    create table tst_date (fld_date date);
    insert into tst_date values (sysdate);
    insert into tst_date values (sysdate);
    2.) Retriving date with SQLPLUS

    23.10.2006 11:25:23
    23.10.2006 11:25:25
    As you see TIME DATA IS CORRECT.
    When I EXPOPRT data TO SQL-insert type I got this result IN TST_DATE.SQL file:
    -- INSERTING into TST_DATE
    Insert into "TST_DATE" ("FLD_DATE") values (to_date('2006-10-23','DD.MM.RR'));
    Insert into "TST_DATE" ("FLD_DATE") values (to_date('2006-10-23','DD.MM.RR'));
    As you seel I lost TIME DATA.

    A DATE-Field, is a DATE-Field and not a
    DATE-TIME-Field.
    The export-tool identifies a DATE-Field and exports
    the data into date-format.This is not true. Oracle DATE fields include a time element.
    To the original poster - I believe this is a bug in the current version.

    The -50 error means "error in user parameters list", which means FCP is using invalid settings to create the movie. It could be related to preferences or an invalid installation but it's most likely a Final Cut Pro bug.

  • Remove header items while exporting reports to CSV or Excel

    Hi!
    I am working on the reporting services 2005.
    I have reports which displays the important parameters selected while running the report into the report header while the report is generated.
    But while exporting into the EXCEL or CSV, these header stuffs completely mess the format of report.
    Is there any way not to export the header and footer stuffs while exporting in any format please?
    Do not feel regret.... just try to improve..... its far better

    What i actually want is to remove all the header and footer stuffs while exporting the report in any format
    You can simply achieve that in SSRS 2008 R2, hide the object base on current format:
    =(Globals!RenderFormat.IsInteractive = "EXCEL")
    For the details, you can refer to:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/robertbruckner/archive/2010/05/02/globals-renderformat-aka-renderer-dependent-report-layout.aspx
    But in 2005 and 2008, no solution for this, only the workarounds:
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlreportingservices/thread/2522d6ec-0366-44f0-bcd9-4d6fff26ae8b
    Create another report without headers and footers, create a textbox with drillthrough action to the new report in main report. Click that
    textbox to export:

  • Using the JRC, RTF embedded in Crystal while exporting to PDF

    Are there enough acronyms for ya?  I donu2019t think so either.
    I am wondering if anyone else has experienced the problem I am facing and what fix, if any, did they find.  I have RTF data stored in the database I am trying to read into a report.  I set the text interpretation to RTF on the field and u201Cyeah!!u201D I have formatted RTF data as the user entered it in a RTF editor.
    While using the JRCu2019s exporter to obtain a PDF format, the formatting set in the RTF tags is no longer being honor during the export (it shows up unformatted when I open the report in Adobe Reader and so my PDF display in code is also off).
    Has anyone else encountered this and what did you do to fix it (or was it fixed)?
    My little about my environment:
    -JVM 1.5
    -Crystal jars version 11.8.5
    -Eclipse 3.4
    Did I miss anything?
    From what I have read on here, it sounds like the Crystal jar 12.2.2 is better at supporting fonts in PDF exports but there is something in the sample code not allowing me to use a JDBC connection over a JNDI connection so I will have to get back to whether it is fixed under 12.  Regardless though, version 12 is not really a good solution for us for I believe this to be Crystal 2008 which we are not budgeted to license so I need to stick with CR XI R2 jar files.
    I also found this in the thread entitle Greek fonts doesnu2019t appear on pdf export :  u201CExport it to editable RTF and then using Word 2007 has a plugin that allows you to export to PDF format which will embed the fonts.u201D  Is this what I need to do to display fonts that are normally found on a Windows installation (ie Arial, Times New Roman, Courier, etc.)?
    Thanks in advanced for any light you may shed on this.

  • Getting Runtiime error while exporting to Excel 97-2000 format (URGENT)

    CA Forum: Exporting
    Hello Everyone,
    This is my first time in this forum.
    I am getting runtime error while exporting the report in EXCEL 97-2000, but exporting perfactly in MS-EXCEL (Data only) format.
    I found the reason is, using expression (formula) for formatting phone number as shown below.
    On table field "abPhone",
       used  "formula = PhoneFormat() " expression on format field -> common tab -> display string .
    Intead that i have used fumula e.g. test1 and used same expression, then it was exporting perfactly..
    Having above problem if i use expression to supress group header and report header.
    So let me know if anyone can help, why it was giving error in first case.
    Thanks in advance
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    This is the Technical limitation of ABAP list export to local file.
    ALV grid greater than 1023 characters per line will be split into 2 lines.
    To prevent a line break occuring when you download the list as a local spreadsheet file, you must reduce the width of the list in ALV. You can do this either by hiding columns or by changing the column widths in the ALV. Take care that the column heading characters also dont exceed 1023 characters. This will work.
    Thanks

  • In-design CS4 Export to RTF format, .png & .eps images aren't displaying.

    I have an InDesign CS4 document that has a combination of .png images, .eps images & text.  And I'm trying to export the main story that contains all the content to RTF format.  The export generates a .rtf file.  And when I view the document in a plain text editor such as Notepad or UltraEdit, I can see the images are there due to the lines & lines of image encoding.  But when I open it inside of Word 2010 or Word Pad, I don't see the images.  I just see the text.
    I've tried generating the rtf export using the normal In-Design interface, as well as trying the sample javascript "ExportAllStories.jsx" that comes with CS4.  Both fail to generate an RTF doc with a readable .png or .eps graphic.
    My Images are AchoredObjects inside of Rectangles.  I can provide the IDML export code if needed.
    I've also verified that if I add an image into Word, be it .png or .eps & then save as RTF, the images are later viewable.
    Is there a bug with In-Design CS 4 in how it generates .png & .eps images for RTF?

    I think I finally figured this out. I move a lot of docts back and forth between InDesign and Word, and oddly enough - some of the PNG files WERE exporting from InDesign to RTF, but not others. So I knew that it wasn't impossible! My client gives me Word docts created using screenshots, sometimes over 200 graphics in one doct. I make sure they are all inline with the text in Word, which keeps them inline  when I place them in InDesign (although they are not "anchored objects" as such). All of the graphics were treated the exact same way, so why should some export to RTF and not all of them? I finally unembedded all the links to compare file properties, and there were absolutely no differences - except SIZE. I tested a few randomly, making some files bigger in Photoshop, and making others smaller, and that absolutely made the difference in whether they would export to RTF or not. The cutoff seems to be somewhere between 40-50 KB. So instead of discriminating against certain file types, that was just coincidental - since PNG files (and GIF) are generally so small.
    But I'm still a little stuck as to the best workflow, given the quantity of image files I have in each doct. I tried creating an action in PS to change the image resolution from 72 to 150, applied it to the whole folder, then updated the links in InDesign. And yes, all but the very tiniest images are now exporting to RTF, but the image quality is crappy! I would love it if someone has any advice on  that.
    Sorry, should have mentioned - this is InDesign CS5.

  • Issue while exporting report in Excel Format

    Hello,
    I am facing problem while exporting the report in Excel Format. After analysis, I think that it could be due to two reasons, either we are using wrong versions of Jars, or we are using wrong API. Here is the code, approaches and problems we are facing. Please help.
    First approach we are using is:
    // using basic API
    import com.crystaldecisions.reports.sdk.ReportClientDocument;
    // get client document from crystal report API and open the report by specifying the report name, with path
                   ReportClientDocument reportClientDoc = new ReportClientDocument();
                   reportClientDoc.open( reportPath, 0 );
                   // give chance to extending classes to configure the report document by POJO or by sql parameter etc, just adding the parameters infromation using ParameterFieldController
                   configureReportDocument( reportClientDoc, reportMetadata, reportData, reportContext );
                   // get data source of crystal report
                   Object reportSource = reportClientDoc.getReportSource();
                   // export the data - we have also tried with MSExcel format
                   ReportExportFormat exportFormat =  ReportExportFormat.recordToMSExcel;
                   LOGGER.debug( "exportFormat[" + exportFormat + "]" );
                   ByteArrayInputStream byteArray = (ByteArrayInputStream) reportClientDoc.getPrintOutputController().export(
                             exportFormat );
    Problem Faced: Specified Excel format is not supported.
    Second Approach: We come to know that excel format is supported with new releases and with occa package.
    Then we tried with import com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.ReportClientDocument; It ask to set the ReportServer. When we are trying to set the server as
                   reportClientDoc.setReportAppServer(ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString);
    Application is unable to find 'ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString' property. It seems like we are using some old jars. However we have downloaded the latest released jars for eclipse 2.
    Please help for it. Issue is to export the report in excel format, which is currently working fine for PDF. If this problem is related to Jars, please suggest the path to download the latest jars. We also looking for the latest jars like rasapp and rascore etc. But these are not available with Crystal Report for Eclipse 2 release.
    Waiting for urgent help. Thanks you..

    Hello Andrea.
    I searched through the SAP Notes for the error that you are encountering.  There is an SAP Note that exists titled the following:
    1332907 - Report being exported to PDF format using the Crystal Reports for Eclipse 1.x runtime, errors with the exception: PdfExporter: caught Exception in PDFFormatter.finalizeFormatJob
    Since you may not have access to the SAP Notes, I will extract the details that are mentioned in the note here:
    =============================================
    Symptom
    Attempting to export a report to Adobe PDF format using the Crystal Reports for Eclipse 1.x runtime results in an exception.
    The exception indicates "PdfExporter: caught Exception in PDFFormatter.finalizeFormatJob"
    Environment
    Windows 2003
    Apache Tomcat 5.0
    Crystal Reports for Eclipse version 1.x
    Reproducing the Issue
    Using the Crystal Reports for Eclipse runtime version 1.x attempt to export a report to PDF format that has the "Repeat Group Header on Each Page" option enabled.
    Note: This does not occur if this option is enabled in a subreport.
    Cause
    When the "Repeat Group Header on Each Page" is enabled for a group in a main report the Crystal Reports for Eclipse 1.x runtime is unable to correclty format the PDF document which results in an exception.
    Resolution
    Updating the application to use Crystal Reports for Eclipse version 2.x runtime will resolve the issue.
    The most recent updates to the Crystal Reports for Eclipse runtime can be freely downloaded from the SAP SDN Website.
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/crystalreports-java
    =============================================
    Since you are on JRC 11.8.4.1094 which is Crystal Reports for Eclipse 1.x, this may be the cause of your problem.
    I hope that this helps.
    Regards.

  • Error while exporting data into Excel Sheet

    Hi All,
    I have created a VO which is based on Query(Not based on EO) and the Query is as follows:
    select f.user_name ,
    f.description ,
    a.currency_code,
    a.amount_to ,
    a.amount_from
    from seacds.ar_approval_user_limits_nv a , seacds.fnd_user_nv f
    where f.user_id = a.user_id
    and a.document_type = 'CM'
    order by 2;
    Based on this VO I have created a search page which will search and returns data from the table and finally standard export button will export the data into excel sheet.
    In this am searching the data based on above 5 attributes. Without entering anything in the messageTextInput if i am clicking GO button, it is returning all the data into the table region. After this if i click on Export Button, data are getting exported into Excel Sheet. It is fine.
    But if i am searching the data by entering any value in any of the messageTextInput, it is returning data. But if i am clicking the Export Button then it is throwing the following error:

    Hi Myvizhi ,
    Did you try running the query from back end that got generated in the error trace ? see if that query is returning desired
    output .
    Also would like to know if you are using oracle standard search mode i.e result based search / auto customization search ?
