Invalide URL message w/multiple sites

I am having difficulty logging into, staying logged into, or even entering multiple sites. It started with just facebook, but now I get the "URL Invalid" message or "Access Denied" on many sites (diapers.com, google maps, even apple sites, too name a few). Sometimes when I am logged into a site and click on a link, a box will pop up that says safari cannot verify the security certificate or invalid security certificate of whatever website I am logged into, and I am no longer able to use the site. It is driving me crazy! I have read some other threads with this discussion, but most instances of this seem to be isolated to facebook - not mine. I have reset Safari numerous times and emptied the cache. Also, my OS is up-to-date. Is this some kind of virus or bug?

  • Recurring "invalid url" message on trusted websites

    I have an iMac and use Firefox and Safari browsers. This problem happens with both. Everything will be fine then I try to navigate to a website, or within a website, and I get something like this:
    Invalid URL
    The requested URL "/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEbay&gbh=1&CurrentPage=MyeBayAllSelling&ssPageName=STRK:ME :LNLK:MESX", is invalid.
    Reference #9.24094a17.1410956231.fe93903
    This particular example is from ebay. I am able to log on to ebay and go to my home page there, but when I try to navigate within the "my ebay" drop down menu, I get this message, BUT, only for certain links! Out of 10 links in the drop down menu, only 3 work. The others give me the "invalid url" message.
    This issue has been ongoing and I have found many references to it over several years if I do a web search, but nobody has offered a solution that solves the problem. I have tried clearing cache, etc. but no luck. The only thing I have found that does the trick is to do a complete shut down and restart of my Mac. I don't want to have to do this all the time. Please help!

    You are welcome.

  • Occasionally I get an "Invalid URL" message when I visit frequently used websites.

    When I visit some of my frequently visited websites, I sometimes get an "Invalid URL" error page. Then, about 15-20 minutes later, the website works fine. I tried going to Google Chrome and it works just fine. This is only happening in Firefox.

    Hello,
    Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
    Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
    To clear cache and cookies do the following:
    #Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
    #Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
    #Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
    #From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
    #Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
    Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
    Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Still getting Invalid URL on Washington Post sites

    Clicking any link to a Washington Post headline returns an Invalid URL error. This has been going on for several weeks, before which everything worked with no problem.
    One other post (not from me) about this problem produced a reply, but the instructions given do not work.
    I'm on a Toshiba Satellite laptop, Windows 7, FF 3.6.15.

    The problem is with the extension "HTTPS Everywhere." I found the solution on another site as follows:
    Rather than disable HTTPS Everywhere, you can simply disable the
    washingtonpost.com rule. Go to Tools -> Add-Ons, and then click
    Preferences for the HTTPS-Everywhere add-on. Then un-check the
    WashingtonPost box.
    The solution worked like a charm.

  • I get "Invalid URL" messages

    OFten, when refreshing my Yahoo Mail and other random websites, I get the "Invalid URL" mesage. The error says "The requested URL "XXXXXXX", is invalid", however that is NOT the same URL in the address window. This happens mostly with Yahoo mail but also randomly with other websites.

  • Invalid URL Warning

    I get this error daily on my iPhone when accessing Facebook pages. After awhile, every page on Facebook whether entered directly or from a bookmark gives the invalid URL message.
    This is NI DOUBT an Apple bug. Somehow the sites ate trying to get you redirected from regular to mobile versions if the site and Safari gets "crossed."
    I clear my history, cache and cookies, close all safari windows and relogin.

    Hi and welcome to Apple Discussions...
    From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the Security tab.
    Click: Show Cookies. Delete all Twitter and Facebook cookies. Relaunch Safari.
    If you still have problems accessing either site, open Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities) Select Passwords on the left. Delete the Twitter and Facebook keychains. Relaunch Safari and try logging into one of those sites. If you still have problems, delete the, "Safari Forms Autofill" keychain. Relaunch Safari.
    I get redirected to sites like MySpace.
    Many Safari users (including myself) benefit from using Open DNS Free / Basic to avoid redirects.

  • Invalid URL in OnError using WSA

    Hi,
    I am trying to send an error reply from a web service that has been invoked asynchronous (initiate method has been called).
    The web service is called from SOAP UI using WS-Addressing. The soap header sent by SOAP UI looks like this:
    <soapenv:Header xmlns:wsa="http://www.w3.org/2005/08/addressing">
         <wsa:Action>initiate</wsa:Action>
         <wsa:ReplyTo>
              <wsa:Address>http://localhost:8888/mock/SoapUIStub-OnResult</wsa:Address>
         </wsa:ReplyTo>
         <wsa:FaultTo>
              <wsa:Address>http://localhost:8888/mock/SoapUIStub-OnError</wsa:Address>
         </wsa:FaultTo>
         <wsa:MessageID>uuid:592bad77-bda0-4ea8-8b5d-556b69e85fe4</wsa:MessageID>
         <wsa:To>http://localhost:7001/soa-infra/services/default/ASync-WebService</wsa:To>
    </soapenv:Header>
    The error is sent using the following invoke statement:
    <invoke name="callbackOutput" partnerLink="async_client" portType="client:WebService_asyncCallback"
         operation="onError"
         inputVariable="IntegrationException"
         bpelx:invokeAsDetail="no"/>
    The wsdl (snipped) looks like this:
    <portType name="WebService_asyncCallback">
         <operation name="onResult">
              <input message="client:WebServiceResponseMessage"/>
         </operation>
         <operation name="onError">
              <input message="ie:IntegrationExceptionMessage"/>
         </operation>
    </portType>
    I receive the error message in SOAP UI on the URL http://localhost:8888/mock/SoapUIStub-OnResult.
    I expect the error on http://localhost:8888/mock/SoapUIStub-OnError.
    Is this a bug or am I missing something?
    Regards, Emiel

    Eric thank you, thank you, thank you. It worked perfectly!
    I wanted to take some time to see if it was going to last and sure enough it has. It has been about 2 weeks and no invalid URL messages anymore. I can jump from site to site without errors. I do social media for a living and you wouldn't believe how much it slowed me down before. I would have to save everything I was doing and restart my computer at least 4 or 5 times a day.
    You need to post this on YouTube.

  • Invalid URL in Safari

    Hi -  When using Safari, I frequently get an Invalid URL when accessing a popular web page (Like Google News or Yahoo). If I wait for an hour, it takes me to the page without issue.  Meanwhile, I can access these pages without any problem from other local devices.
    I have read through a number of posts on this topic, but there is never a agreed conclusion about what is happening and how to fix it.
    In the example above: I am accessing Google News by Going to the Google homepage and clicking on the 'News' link. I get:
    Invalid URL
    The requested URL "/nwshp?hl=en&tab=wn", is invalid.

  • Invalid URL after trying to validate a certificate issue

    I got this message:
    "The certificate helps Firefox determine whether the site you're visiting is actually the site that it claims to be. If there is a problem with the certificate, you will see the This Connection Is Untrusted alert page......"
    I tried to go through the steps to make sure it was fine. Apparently I clicked the wrong button because now I get an invalid URL message EVERYtime. I need to be able to access this site daily. Can anyone help me?

    If you have a problem with the intermediate Go Daddy certificate then visit this link to make Firefox store that certificate. You do not need to install any certificates from this page. A visit is sufficient to make Firefox store the missing certificate that isn't send by the ps<i></i>.meridianschools<i></i>.org site
