Inventory Management Loading clarification - loading BX , BF and UM

Hi,
I want to load inventory management from scratch.
I have ready lots of documents from this site related to this but still unsure.
In SAP document, It says that BX should be compressed with NO MARKER UPDATE and  while BF and UM should be compressed with NO MARKER Update box checked.
I also read some where that
BX and UM should be compressed with No marker update not selected while only BF should be compressed with marker update box checked.
which is the correct version or whats the difference between these two.
thanks

Hi Vaidya,
Inventory calculate all non cumulative values based on a reference +/- delta principle.
The reference is called the marker.
Answer to the question when should I do a marker update?
Initially, for first load to BW, if R/3 system has gone live earlier, each material would have some stock value in the plant. But if BW has to load only deltas , then it should have this initial stock figures.
So we do a statsitcal run for BX. This statistical run.. consider intial stock of R/3 when it went live + incoming material movement documents - outgoiong material movements and loads BX.
So after this load in BW, we compress the request in BW to create our marker to say 100PCS for material A in plant A as on 31.03.2009.
Now if you are interested in seeing on what were material movements(incoming/outgoing)  for 01.02.2009 in BW, you would have to load BF to BW.
So you rean intialization for BF and loaded BF in BW.
But this movement of material A on 01.02.2009 was considered in getting our marker value when we did BX load. This is because in our statistical run for BX we had calculated = R/3 initail stock + incoming movements - outgoing movements until 31.03.2009. So if we consider this historical movement for marker uppdae again our marker would become incorrect.
So when we load BF until 31.03.2009(initialization run) we do not update the marker. So we compress the marker without update.
From 31.03.2009 onward when you load detlas to BW for BF and UM every day, you would like to update the marker to keep it current as of date.
ie say material A moved out on 01.04.2009 - 20 pcs.
say material A moved in on 03.04.2009 - 40 pcs.
So on 4th when you load delta and update the marker , the marker value would be - 100 - 20 + 40 =120.
You update the marker because business is most often interested to see stock of previous or two to three days before. If the marker is updated then it has to check fewer records to get the delta to goe the the stock figure then.
Thus, for all future delta loads you would compress with marker update.
Hope this helps,
Best regards,
Sunmit.

    Hi
I have a  requirement in Inventory Management where the client wants to empty the complete Infocube(0IC_C03).
Now he is just interested in loading previous 3 months data as historic data.
Now my problem is how do i go about it once i have cleared the Infocube.
all standard datasources are in use.
    2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_03_BF and 2LIS_03_UM.
    Summary
Restart Reporting with previous 3 months data available in BIW and delta loads every day later on.
Also guide me over the downtime required.

    Hi All
I wish to Clear the Infocube completely so as to start afresh.
Please correct me if i am wrong
    Fill Setup table for 2LIS_03_BX
I will run the Opening Stock Infopackage for 2LIS_03_BX
    Compression without marker update
I will be filling setup tables of 2LIS_03_BF and 2LIS_03_UM giving posting date range of previous 3 months and will run Init with data transfer infopackage of the two data sources.
Followed by Compression with marker update for the two requests

  • Inventory Management loading

    hi xperts,
I am loading infocube,0IC_C032 from the infosource LIS_03_BX,with business content updaterules.
But no data is coming into the cube,I set the option as GENERATE INTIAL STATUS,I checked RSA3 in source system data is there.
please somebody help with this inventory management.

    Hi,
you have to run MCNB in R/3 to perform the stock initialization.
You do this vis SBIW - Setings for App Spec DS - Logistics - Settings Inventory Controlling - Stock initialization.

  • Inventory Management with u0091Material Document No.u0092 and u0091Purchase order No.'

    Hello,
We have defined Inventory Management InfoCube analog to 0IC_C03 without ‘Material Document No.’ (R3 Field MBLNR) and ‘Purchase order number’ (R3 Field EBELN). We are loading the data from standard extractor 2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_03_BF and 2LIS_03_UM. It works fine. We have alreday read the whitepaper “Inventory Scenarios in BW”.
    Question:
Now the ‘Material Document No.’ and ‘Purchase order number’ have to report in BEx. As ODS can not be built in Inventory Management, so we can’t include these fields in ODS and update data from ODS into another InfoCube with Document No. or order number.
We don’t want to include these fields Document No. and Order number. in existing InfoCube because of performance reason.
Could you tell me how we can implement such a scenario?
    Thanks for the answer.

  • Inventory Management Loading Procedures

    Hello,
I have some doubts about the using of those datasources (BX, BF and UM). Here is my scenario:
    1. No historical data is requested, just new data after going live.
    2. We are planning a downtime due to cutover phase to our go-live, here is a good opportunity to initialize the balance of stocks using the MCNB.
So I need to know if the procedures are correct and in correct sequence.
    1. Initialize the stock balance (MCNB) with posting block.
    2. Load the data (BX) into BW, without any marker set.
    3. Initialize the BF without data transfer using the same start date that I runned the stock balance MCNB.
    4. Initialize the UM without data transfer , with the same date selection above.
    and then start loading deltas...
But I´m not sure about the marker (with or without) in INIT and DELTAS  and what does it mean.
    Tks.
    Christian.

  • Good Issue and Good Receive in Inventory Management

    Hi everybody,
I have a problem to set initial stock in inventory management, because the result between BW and R/3 are not the same.
I use ZLIS_40_S278 and use some routine to calculate total good issue and good receive based on movement type.
Before that our users already define all movement type belongs to good issue and good receive.
Basically how we can get good issue and good receive value?
    Regards,
    Steph.

    Hi Steph
    Use the following key figures
0ISSBLOSTCK - Issue quantity: blocked stock
0ISSCNSSTCK - Quantity Issued from Consignment Stock
0ISSQMSTCK - Issue quantity: stock in quality inspection
0ISSTRANSST - Issue Quantity: Stock in Transit
0ISSTOTSTCK - Issue Quantity Total Stock
0ISSVALSTCK - Quantity Issued from Valuated Stock
0RECBLOSTCK - Receipt Quantity: Blocked Stock
0RECCNSSTCK - Quantity Received into Consignment Stock
0RECQMSTCK - Receipt Quantity: Stock in Quality Inspection
0RECTRANSST - Receipt Quantity: Stock in Transit
0RECTOTSTCK - Receipt Quantity Total Stock
0RECVALSTCK - Quantity Received into Valuated Stock
    Thanks.

  • Consignment Stock for Inventory Management

    Posting as a new thread...
I have installed and loaded the Inventory Management Cube 0IC_03 in our development and quality systems.  During testing we have found just one problem with Consignment Stock.  The Stock Initialization (2LIS_03_BX) does not bring in an initial quantity (BWMNG) for any material flagged as a Consignment Stock (Stock Category = K, field BSTTYP).
My question - is there a good reason for this or is this a problem?  It causes a problem with reporting, because balances are now off.  Do I need to change how reporting is done for Consignment?
It seems to me that the BX extractor should be picking up the initial balance.  I am trying to debug the code, but am getting a headache!
    Any help would be appreciated!
Yes, I have reviewed the "How To..." documentation, but don't see anything regarding consignment stock.
We are at BW 3.0b Support Pack 25.
    Lisa.

Thanks, Ken.   I don't know that this note actually helped me, but I did another review of OSS notes.  We have applied 3 of them (726485, 756151, 762219) and our consignment issue has been resolved.
Thanks for pointing me back in the right direction!
    Lisa.

  • Wrong values for Total stock - Inventory managment ( negative values)

    Hi,
    I loaded inventory management load
2LIS_03_BF   INIT 01.06.2009 - 06.7.2009 No Marker Update (compressed with check)
2LIS_03_UM  INIT 01.06.2009 - 06.7.2009 No Marker Update (compressed with check)
the first quantity received is from 11.06.2009  and 0RECTOTSTCK is showing 300 which is correct.
on 10.06.2009 it is showing -300 for 0TOTALSTCK when it should be 0 since there hasn't been any data.
whats the right way to compress my cube if I don't want to load BX and how can I resolve this.
    thanks

    Hi,
The standard process to get correct values in report is
    1. First u have to do init laod from 2LIS_03_BX and u have to compress the request with 'no marker update' chk box unselected.
    2. Next u have to do init load from 2LIS_03_BF and u have to compress the request with 'no marker update' chk box selected.
    3.  Next u have to do init load from 2LIS_03_UM and u have to compress the request with 'no marker update' chk box selected.
    4. Normally u can run delta loads from BX and BF data sources. ( Compression is not mandatory. Even if u compress it will improve the performance)

  • Loading to Inventory Management Snapshot ODS and Cube

I am trying to develop an Inventory data model and have already created and loaded to the Inventory Management (0IC_C03) cube.
I have now created a Snap Shot ODS and Snap Shot cube, is there a way that I can load to these objects without having to do a re-init? Thanks

    Hello Niten,
There is no need to do re-init, you can load the data into non-cumulative and snapshot targets in parallel. Through sam infopackage with which you are loading to 0IC_C03, load to snapshot targets also.

  • Inventory Cube Loading - Questions....

This is the process I intend to follow to load InfoCube 0IC_C03 and the questions therein. I have the "how to handle inventory scenarios" document, so please don't suggest I read that.
    1A) Delete Set-up tables for application 03
    1B) Lock Users
1C) Flush LBWQ and delete entries in RSA7 related to application 03 (optional - only if needed)
2A) Fill set up tables for 2LIS_03_BX. Do Full load into BW Inventory Cube with "generate initial status" in InfoPackage.
2B) Compress request with a marker update
3A) Fill set up table for 2LIS_03_BF with posting date 01/01/2006 to 12/31/2007 (Historical) and load to Inventory Cube with a full update
QUESTION1: Does this need a marker update?
QUESTION2: Is this a good strategy  - do movement documents that old get updated once posted?
QUESTION3: Does the posting dates restriction depend on on how far back in history we want to go and look at stock values?
3B) Fill set up table for 2LIS_03_BF with posting date 01/01/2008 to 9/9/999  (Current) and load to Inventory Cube with a delta init with data transfer.
3C) Compress load in 3B without a marker update
4A) Fill set up table for 2LIS_03_UM  and load to Inventory Cube with a delta init
4B) Compress load in 4A without a marker update
QUESTION4: How should we select the posting date criteria? Do I need to load from 01/01/2006 to 9/9/9999 since that's the range used for BF?
    5) Start V3 update jobs via Job Control
    6) Intiate subsequent delta loads from BF and UM and compress with marker update
QUESTION 5: Is the sequence of loading BX first, then BF and UM fixed? or can I do BF and then BX, UM
QUESTION 6: Any tips on minimizing downtime in this particular scenario? Please don't suggest generic steps. If you can suggest something specific to this situation, that'd be great.
I hope you can help with the 6 questions I asked above.
    Regards,
    Anita S.

    Hi Anita,
Please find my answers below. I have worked enough with this scenario and hence feel that these would be worth considering for your scenario.
3A) Fill set up table for 2LIS_03_BF with posting date 01/01/2006 to 12/31/2007 (Historical) and load to Inventory Cube with a full update
QUESTION1: Does this need a marker update?
In this step we dont need marker update while compressing.
QUESTION2: Is this a good strategy - do movement documents that old get updated once posted?
I am able to get the question quite clearly.
QUESTION3: Does the posting dates restriction depend on on how far back in history we want to go and look at stock values?
Yes. We need to start from latest and then go back as backwards as we want to see the stock values. This holds true when we are using non cumulative key figures
4B) Compress load in 4A without a marker update
QUESTION4: How should we select the posting date criteria? Do I need to load from 01/01/2006 to 9/9/9999 since that's the range used for BF?
No need to provide any selection criteria for UM while loading to BW, as this would fetch the same data filled in setup of revaluations.Unless you are looking for only some history other wise you can fill that for company code list and bring the whole data to BW  by a single full load, as the data wont be that huge as compared to BF
    6) Intiate subsequent delta loads from BF and UM and compress with marker update
QUESTION 5: Is the sequence of loading BX first, then BF and UM fixed? or can I do BF and then BX, UM
This is fixed in terms of compression with marker updates.
QUESTION 6: Any tips on minimizing downtime in this particular scenario? Please don't suggest generic steps. If you can suggest something specific to this situation, that'd be great.
*Yes. Most of time consuming activity is for filling BF history. Negligable for BX and UM comparitively.
Either try having multiple BF selective setup filling based on posting date based on available background processes or filli open months setup during downtime and rest history once you unlock the system for postings. The reason for this being we dont expect any posting for history*
Feel free to ask any further questions about this.

i loaded some datarecords from Oracle SS in ODS and Infocube.
My SOurceSytem guy given some datarecords by his selection at Oracle source system side.
how can i see that 'how many data records are loaded into ODS and Infocube'.
i can check in monitor , but that not correct(becz i loaded second , third time by giving the ignore duplicate records). So i think in monitor , i wont get the correct number of datarecords loaded in case of ODS and Infocube.
So is there any transaction code or something to find number records loaded in case of ODS and Infocube .
    ps tell me
    i ll assing the points
    bye

    HAI
I went into ODS manage and see the 'transferred' and 'added' data records .Both are same .
But when i total the added data records then it comes 147737.
But when i check in active table(BIC/A(odsname)00 then toal number of entries come 1,37,738
why it is coming like that difference.......
And in case of infocube , how can i find total number of records loaded into Infocube.(not in infocube).
Like any table for fact table and dimension tables.
