Inventory Mangement with SnapShots

Hi experts,
I've been trying to implement the SnapShot scenario following the How To paper and I'm not able to create the update rules from 2LIS_03_BX to ODS ODSSNAP and the Cube ICSNAP1. I can not see the key figures to implement rhe uodate routines as it's said on the guide. With the cube I'm having the error No key figures exists for the Infocube.
Has been someone in the same situation?? Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong??
Thanks in advance...
regards,
Carlos

The problem is solved!!!
You can not load the opening stocks to the snapshot ODS untill you create a manual entry in RSADMIN table for the ODS as it's said on the prerequisite note 773823.
I was a missunderstood because the note talks about a support package that we allready had implemented....but it seems you have to create the manual entry for the ODS in the table anyway.
Regards,
Carlos.

  • Inventory management with SnapShots

    Hi
I've got this document, "How to handle inventory management scenarios in BW".
It's generally very clear, no problem to understand the standard solution (0IC_C03, non-cumulatives).
But I really didn't understand the explanation about Snapshot on the monthly positions.
So I ask someone to explain how does the concept work.
    Example:
The document refers to material movements in 01.2004 and 03.2004.
    Question 1:
What are the values posted to the DSO and to the InfoCube after initial load (after the first load of datasources BX and BF/UM) ???
Will we have registers to 01.2004, 02.2004, 03.2004 and 12.9999, both in the DSO and in the InfoCube ?
    How does month 12.9999 work?
    Question 2:
What are the values posted to the DSO and to the InfoCube after the second BF load?
    Let's suppose 2 movements in 04.2004 and 2 movements in 05.2004.
Will we add registers to 04.2004 and 05.2004 both in the DSO and in the Cube?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Cesar,
Not sure if this could be helpful.. but still sharing..

As even I want to understand differences between 2 methods.. Snapshot and 0IC_C03 (non cumulative)
    Could you find any leads?

  • Inventory Mangement Infocube without Routines.

    Hi,
I have to install 0IC_C03 infocube for the customer in SAP BI. Initially I had issues in mapping the fields for this cube with datasources BX, BF and UM. Then I realized that since there are many Non Cumulative Key Figures in the cube, most of the data loads will take place using routines.
I want to know can we use this infocube without having to write any routines in ABAP. I don't know ABAP and there is no programmer with me. So there's no way I can write codes.
Is there a way or an alternative of using Inventory Cube. I have gone through "How to handle Inventory Mangement Scenarios in BW" document but that's of no use, since it suggests many routines, almost for every keyfigure.
Is there any other way I can do Inventory for them. The client's requirement is to see all the standard reports present in SAP for Inventory.
Please help me solve this issue, as I am really running short of time in this project.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Besides what I know is:
    Load BX DTP
compress with Marker Update. --> uncheck the check box during compression on with zero elimination.
    Load BF DTP
compress without Marker Update followed by deltas with Marker.-- check the check box
    Load UM DTP
compress without Marker update followed by deltas with Marker Update.
--uncheck teh check box on zero elimination.
After installation check wheather all teh objects are active or not. There will not be any difference in the content for BI 7.0 when compared with BW 3.x versions as the business content is not delivered in 7.0 version.
Please folow teh steps speficed in document How to after the installation of content.
    Hope this helps.

  • Server backup Faliure Wth failing with snapshot error

    Hi Team ,
One of my VM guest Machine's backup job is getting failed again and again with snapshot error .
When I checked logs I can see Event Warning  " VM disks consolidation failed "  where currently there is no snapshot is available  on this machine.
But When I manually run the snapshot by using by using quiesce Method and then again run backup Job from Symantec , Backup runs fine 7
We are using Symantec Netbackup 7.6.1 and My VM Machine is running on ESXi01 , VM version 9 , Guest OS MS Windo 2008 R2
Any Help Would be really appreciate

    Hi,
    DO THIS FIRST
                 a) Try to do a storage vMotion of that VM and delete the file which are left behind along with the VM folder (if any )
                 b) Take a VMware snapshot and after completion , Go for DELETE ALL --> This will update the snapshot records in the VMX file and snapshot configuration file with latest number which is unique while taking the snapshot as per the process.
    DO THIS AFTERWARDS
               a) STOP and set to manual service for Volume shadow copy ,VMware snapshot provider and Virtual Disk inside the Guest OS. Wait and Check for schedule backup.

  • Physical Inventory Count with Batches / Inventory Tracking+Posting

    Hi,
There does not seem to be any way to record a Physical Inventory count with Batch managed items.
Scenario-1: In case 1.8 kg of batch number 222 is counted during Physical Count. B1 has Batch number 111 with quantity 2.5kg. B1 assumes that a lesser quantity of existing batch 111 was counted and the batch SELECTION screen appears.
Scenario-2: Similarly, if 3 kg of batch number 222 is counted during Physical Count and Batch number 111 exists on Business One with quantity 2.5kg, then B1 assumes that a new batch was found and the batch CREATION screen appears.
Scenario-3: If 2.5 kg of batch number 222 is counted during Physical Count - with Batch number 111 on Business One with quantity 2.5kg, then B1 assumes a zero "difference" in posting window. Wrong batch removal and new batch addition cannot be done - the batch selection/creation screen does not pop up with CTRL+TAB.
A Physical inventory count sheet with hundreds of rows with all 3 above scenarios in the rows is normally supposed to be entered into any system.
An easy way to do this should exist on SAP B1 but does not appear to exist right now.

    Message# 551219/2009
    Dear Ajay Audich,
Thanks for your message and screenshots. In current version of SAP Business One, the Inventory Posting functionality does not offer input at the batch level. The system behaves in the following way:
If the Difference number is positive, you will see a Define Bathes
window where you can assign the item quantity to the relevant batches.
If the Difference number is negative, you will see a Batch Number
Selection widow where you can issue item from the relevant batch.
So it isnot possible to enter the count for batch managed items per batch. The possible workaround is after Inventory Posting, use Goods Issue and Receipt to manually adjust the Batch quantity.
Please kindly have a try. If the feature is important for customer
business process, please kindly refer to attached Note 1028874 for
    further action.
Sorry for any inconvenience, we appreciate your understanding.

  • Merging  Inventory Data With Other Data

    Dear Experts,
I have a requirement where in i am trying to combine Inventory Data with data from other datasource (0CO_PC_ACT_05).
I have designed the Bex query from both the sources. Now i have tried to merge the data at BO level by merging dimesions
plant and material. It works fine for small data set  but there is performance issue as we have huge inventory data of more than 15 years.
Kindly suggest me the other methods through which i can merge the data.
    Thanks ,
    Sumit

    Hi! Rajesh,
The input for Inventory Query is Plant, calender date, storage location, material type.
For Material Ledger query the input is fiscal year/period and plant.
I have merged the dimensions Plant and material at BO level.
    Thanks

It is not related to Active Directory, more like it is a virtualization question and PowerShell. But I beleive this could help for VMWare:

  • Inventory optimization with SMARTops

    Hi all
we are coming up soon with requirements gathering sessions for implementing inventory optimization with SMARTops.
can anyone provide a heads up for your expereiences with SMARTops and how this new product works with SAP APO.
    we are currently on SCM7.0.
please send some links that can direct me to case studies and information about implementing SMARTops with SAP APO.

Ashvin, there are several ways to take the SAP EIS (formerly SmartOps) time phased safety stock output and convert that into one safety stock value for ECC.  As you pointed out, you can take the one value for the current week and use that but a less volatile idea might be to average the SS recommendations for several time periods going forward, depending on your business details.  If you have a frozen period with your factories or vendors, or if you get order lead time from customers, those parameters would impact the number of periods to average.  You could take the highest SS value over that period instead, depending on your customer service targets and if you're planning safety stocks throughout your supply chain  (multi-echelon)with EIS or just for finished goods.  As you can see, a lot goes into the decision about how to take time phased safety stock values and convert them into one value.  Many EIS customer are doing that now successfully.  I suggest reaching out to your SmartOps consultant for guidance.   I am currently working for SAP as a Solutions Consultant on the EIS application.

  • Inventory postings with usage decision

    Dear Experts,
What is the significance of Posting UD and what is the significance of this with repsect to Inventory postings with usage decision and how and where this can be assigned with the usage decision.
    Thanks,
    Vampire

    Hi Ram,
The link between stock posting and UD is maintained in trx QS51.
Here in the UD code under selected set (First see which UD code you selects while performing UD in QA11 screen, and then search out the same in QS51), there is the field name :Posting Proposal to UD". The value in this field determines where to stock should be posted according to the UD code.
As you select the UD code in QA11, system come to know where the stock to be posted and segregate the stock accordingly when you click on the "proposal" button in QA11.
