"Inventory Proposal" field on Cycle Counting (tcode LX26).

Hi Experts,
I have one user asking about the "Inventory proposal" field on tcode LX26 results. How or where the system calculate this field? What this value means?
Appreciate any help,
Erich.

Hi Jürgen,
Thanks for your help. I have checked your thread, however I would like to know how the system calculate the field "Inventory proposal" on tcode LX26.
For example, in the LX26 results the field "Inventory Proposal" shows the value 35 and there are only 6 storage bins selected at the bottom of the screen. My question is, why the field "Inventory proposal" shows the value 35? How the system calculate this value/field?
Thanks once more and regards,
Erich.

• Cycle Count in LX26...Can I display all quants ??

Hi,
I am trying to do cycle counting using LX26 in SAP.
I want to count based on the material for the entire warehouse.
For example: I want to count for warehouse W01 for the next one month.
The warehouse manager should have the ability to assign counters based on material ( eg: He should be able to pick Material "A" which resides in 5 different bins and assign it to a counter)
THE PROBLEM comes when in 1 bin there is more than 1 quant , then the system proposes the bin separately as "Several Quants" , and not in the list for the material.
Is there a setting that would display all material sorted by bin ? So, even if there are 2 different quants in a bin, it would list out the quants for the counter to select ??
Please advice !!

Thanks....I removed the CC indicator in the material master.
But if the material is in the same bin with another material ( with CC active) , it still comes up in LX26
Example:
Material A - No CC Indicator
Material B- CC Indicator of "A"
Both of them are in Bin - B1
If I run LX26 , I get bin B1 with "Multiple Quants" and relevant for Cycle counting !!!
Can you help?

• Status field in Cycle count

Hi all,
Is it possible to involve the "status field" of the meterial in Cycle count procvess. Here the client need is to count the material at material status level.
If this possible, please let me know the t-codes / Process flow.
thanks & regards
Chaitanya Rayaprolu

Explain what your status is and what it controls, and where you maintain it.
In general SAP materials can have material statuses to control business.
However these statuses are not visible in a phyiscal inventory document or in its selection screen.
you have to modify screens, programs and forms to make such status visible for physical inventory.

• Physical inventory document created for Cycle counting

There are lot of physical inventory documents are created for materials around 2500 automaticallly
I have checked all MMR for materials, all these material set with cycle counting indicator 3 which mean that 25 pdhysical inventories and 10 physical intervels.
I have checked batch input but i did not any found batch input posted for this..
How the physical inventory documents are created automatically for these materilas.
Plz thorugh some light on me..

Hi
There is a process for creating the physical inventory document of your inventory. The lines are separately created for each product batch.
Probably the process will be scheduled and therefore it is executed and created the document.

• Transaction MIBC-- ABC Analysis for Cycle Counting - Physical Inventory

Dear Friends,
Could you please explain me the cycle count indicator relationship to the percentage of inventory to be counted.
When i am using MIBC transaction and changing the Percentages....based on percentages the system is proposing the new cycle count indicators for the materials.
Thanks in advance
Sanjay

Dear Sanjay,
I would recommend you to write your question into the ERP - Logistics Materials Management (MM) topic. I suppose you will get more information about MIBC there.

• Cycle count

We do cycle count physical inventory in one storage type in one
Warehouse, every 30 days on around mid of every month and annual count
physical inventory on 31st Dec every year.
But due to annual count done on 31st Dec, old PI dates of bins are
updated as 31st Dec and new PI dates are proposed as 30th Jan.
So the regular cycle count dates are modified. Business does not want
the PI dates so modified due to recent Annual count, rather needs the
old PI dates displayed as per regular cycle count in LX26 run.
Kindly suggest how to restore old PI dates as per cycle count physical
inventory.

yes you need a custom program for an update.
I never needed to run RLREOLPQ manually, SAP knows when the year is over. This report is probably only needed if you want reset counts within a fiscal year, maybe used when your company is sold in the middle of the year, and the new owner does not accept the already done counts.

• Cycle counting happening not beyond fiscal year

Hello
We tried to run Cycle counting using LX26 but got error as IM settings are not done,we ran MIBC
The issue here is we can't push the counting date beyond the fiscal year end. If I run the transaction LX26 in either QAS or Prod it will work just fine if I keep the date before 31.03.2012.
Result of this issue is that all parts classified as C or D, are not being suggested for counting. As most of our stock is rated C or D by the ABC analysis that means that a lot of parts will not be counted, while they should be counted.
So what I need is a way to be able to count all types of stock using an inventory process in SAP, if there is another transaction that does count C and D classified stock that would be very helpful.
Factory calendar validdity is from 1996 to 2020.
Transactions I use now:
For creating inventory documents LX26
Printing inventory documents ZLI04
Inputting count results LI11N
Processing count results LI14, LI20 and ZLI21
Thanks in advance for helping us

• Cycle count error "HU 100201 not in an HU-managed storage location" in LX26

• Cycle count inventory

Hi everybody,
When doing a cycle count via tx LX26, the following error appears:
"CC inventory not prepared in IM
Message no. L4173"
I've read some threads regarding this item, and what I have done is the following:
OMNK - activate cycle counting for my warehouse and storage types.
ommb - for number ranges
IMG > Logistics Execution > Warehouse Management > Activities > Physical Inventory > Dynamic Cycle Counting > General Settings > Define Storage Type Settings
omco
article master data (when using mibc all articles appear with the cc indicater filled)
I think I have everything correctly configured and there is no stp missing, but the reality is that I am not able to perform the cycle count.
Any idea?
Thanks

Have you made material master settings ?
Marking Materials for Cycle Counting
This step is only required if you perform cycle counting for the first time or if you want to update the cycle counting indicators.
In the material master record (storage data), maintain the cycle counting indicator for all the materials that are to be included in cycle counting.
You can set the indicator in one of the following two ways:
manually in the material master record. To do this, choose Material ® Change from the Material Master menu.
automatically using ABC analysis To do this, choose Special procedures ® Cycle counting ® Set CC indicator from the Physical Inventory menu.

• Cycle Count - LX26 vs LICC

Hi! I would like to confirm the functionality for the above stock take transactions. If I have multiple materials set with different cycle count indicator and these materials can be placed in the same storage bin, does that mean that I should be running LICC instead of LX26 if I only want to stock take those materials that are valid for the stock take period?
What is the disadvantage here with using LICC? That the block will only apply to the quant but not the bin?
Appreciate clarification on the above.
Thanks!

If I have multiple materials set with different cycle count indicator and these materials can be placed in the same storage bin, does that mean that I should be running LICC instead of LX26 if I only want to stock take those materials that are valid for the stock take period?
Yes, LICC is the appropriate method , since this will not block the whole bin.
It will only block the related quant of the material and "inventory active" indicator will be set on the quant.
What is the disadvantage here with using LICC? That the block will only apply to the quant but not the bin?
Yes already answered

• Execute Inventory with Cycle-Counting Method and by Quants

Hi Gurus,
I would like to Implement the Inventory by quant on WM.
This is because I would like to Inventory only 1 material per Bin.
I found transaction LICC, but when I try to activate the Document an error message say that the Inventory Document Range (LVS_IVNUM) does not exist.
How can I create this range? Have you got a manual for this implementation?
Another Question: the Inventory count is allready implemented and there is still a range of Inventory Documents created and managed by LI01N, LX26..the Cycle Counting by quants can interferate with the one allready implemented?
Thanks & Regards,
Simone

Hi,
For the LICC issue I had same problem. Direct in production you need to maintain number ranges in LN05 for your warehouse.
Thanks.

• Cycle count and inventory document generation

hi.
Currrent Scenario : Cycle count has been configured for Quarterly cycle count for 20 materials.
Float period has been set for 5 days.
Procedure : Customer wants to do inventroy count for the 20 materials at the rate of one material per day.
Question : 20 Materials falling under "C" quarterly cycle count show up for Physical inventory.
Can the customer create an inventory document for inventory count each day for each material or will they have to create 20 inventory documents for count at one go since the float period is set for 5days.
Will the float period indicated play a part if the physical inventory is planned for each material on separate days.
Or if an physical inventory has been planned for the quarterly managed material, all material in that category say "C" would anyway show up during the quarterly inventory cycle count period. And the inventory count can be done for each material on seperate days.
Thanks

hi Arif.,
Earlier situation : Cycle count procedure was only A.
Present situation : Cycle count procedure is now ABCD .
But only C.c indicator A is still active for all material. We have not
changed the Cc indicators for any material.
Transported to production on Friday.
My question is :
On monday ,when the batch program was executed for printing of inventory
documents, Why does it generate a whole lot inventory documents for
Materials which have not been inventored even when the C.c indicators
remain A for all the Materials. We have not even in-corporated the
Quarterly cycle count indicators for the few selected materials.
Should the system:
1. Print Inventory documents only for the current period or
2. Is the system behaving properly due to the change in Cycle count?
Only the Cycle count procedure has been changed to 4 times in a fiscal year.
Do review the information and update me.
