Inventory Service won't load
We're running Zenworks 6.5 on a Netware 6.5 SP2 server.
We recently applied the Zenworks 6.5 support pack 2 and since then we've
been unable to start the Inventory service.
When we type StartSer * at the console the error that comes back from the
logger screen is: java: Class
com.novell.zenworks.desktop.inventory.servercommon .ZENWorksInventory Start
Service exited with status -1.
I've checked the database and it appears to load correctly. The database
runs on the same server as the Inventory service.
I've checked the Status in the inventory service object and the last status
is a 602 error.
I've also checked that the port the service is trying to use isn't in use
and the inventory service objects in C1 and can't see any issues.
Anybody have any ideas?
I would chek to make sure that your JAVA search settings are correct on your
server
SYS:\JAVA\BIN
SYS:\JAVA\NWGFX\BIN
SYS:\JAVA\NJCLV2\BIN
should all be in the path.
I have seen these entries as either missing or pointing to the wrong
location as a cause of similar problems.

Inventory service will not load
I tried posting earlier on the install forum but have no reply so I'm
trying here...
Just completed several installs of Zen for Desktops 6.5 SP2 on Netware 6.5
SP5. No problems except for one server that will not load the Inventory
service. Tried renaming the Zenworks folders and reinstalling, deleting the
objects and reinstalling, etc... Found the following TID:
http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/se...i?10098429.htm which
describes a situation where the security folder is not created in
ZENworks/zws. The fix is supposed to be just creating a security folder and
copying a zws.properties file from a working server. This does not work. I
looked at one of my functioning servers and there are 2 files: .keystore
and keypair.dat located in the working servers security folder.
How do I generate new .keystore and new keypair.dat files? Is there
something similar to tckeygen.ncf I can use to recreate these files?
Many thanks

[SOLVED]wpa_supplicant.service won't load properly at boot
Hello everyone,
When I boot my Wi-Fi does not work. That's because wpa_supplicant.service has not loaded correct.
Systemctl status wpa_supplicant.service gives this output:
wpa_supplicant.service - WPA supplicant
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/wpa_supplicant.service; disabled)
Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Mi 2013-12-18 14:17:20 CET; 53min ago
Process: 1793 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/wpa_supplicant -u (code=exited, status=203/EXEC)
Main PID: 1793 (code=exited, status=203/EXEC)
CGroup: /system.slice/wpa_supplicant.service
Now I see that wpa_supplicant -u exited with Status 203. If i now open a Terminal, login as root and execute
wpa_supplicant -u
everything works fine.
Now I don't know where to look next for my problem (Is it a DBUS fault? Or Systemd? Or wpa_supplicant? Or NetworkManager???)
I'm using NetworkManager with Gnome 3.10.
Thanks in advance

Zenworks won't load after NW65sp5 install
I'm not sure if this should be posted here or elsewhere...its a java
problem now.
Server is NW6.5SP3 running Zenworks 4. I installed the above service pack
and at the end errored. After reading a similar item in the forum I
renamed the java folder to something else and reinstalled the service pack
which completed this time. Now however, Zenworks will not load due to java
errors.
The two classes that won't load correclty are
..desktop.inventory.servercommon... and
autowsmanagement.wsremoval.removeWorkStations.
Thanks in advance.Fredr,

I just installed LV2011 and one dll from my vi won't load with the error "application configuration is incorrect", which is Windows lingo for "missing package dependencies". All the computers at my company with 2010 loaded seem to do OK. When I do a Dependencies Walk I get missing Visual C debug dll's missing plus IEshims and wer which both have a whole tree of dependencies missing on my machine. The Windows install is the same "Windows XP version 2002 Service Pack 3" on my PC and the working PC's. So I'm thinking I have to uninstall 2011 and go back to 2010. Is this correct? Those VC debug dll's were installed on the machines with 2010 in them but were not installed in mine.
I've heard the advice to recompile the dll with debug turned off but I don't have access to the source code.
Thanks in advance.u87 wrote:
Thanks for the reply. This at least tells me that going back to LV2010 is not likely to solve the problem. The missing dll's are:
MFC90D.dll
MSVCR90D.dll
IESHMS.dll
WER.dll
And, once again, IESHMS and WER have other dependencies. So perhaps i need to install the Visual C++ development environment.
IESHIMS.dll is an Internet Explorer DLL that gets usually delay loaded by shdocvw.dll. As delay load it can not cause DLL load errors but only runtime errors. Maybe your DLL has it as direct dependency but that is unlikely since it does not have a documented interface.
WER.dll is Windows error reporting for Vista/Win7.
MFC90D.dll is the Microsoft Foundation classes and MSVCR90D.dll is the MS C runtime library, both as debug variant.
So all the DLLs you mention are actually MS DLLs! You haven't identified the DLL that you try to access in LabVIEW that causes these error messages. IESHIMS and WER are usually delay loaded by any component that needs it and should not likely be used by non MS code.
What is the DLL you try to load into LabVIEW and by whom? Get the provider of that DLL to provide you a non Debug build of the DLL. Installing Visual C on all the machines just to make the DLL load is not a solution, besides that it is likely not legal since I doubt you have that many licenses.

Hi
After just fixing my wifi problem (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1345209) I am able to access the internet but I have a problems loading pages from some websites. The browser will say that I have loaded the page fully, but none of the flash, javascript, or backgrounds will load. Some pictures, but not most of them would load. The page is a white background with text and links and a couple small pictures. The text is a default font and only the links are a color other than black. Most sites will work, but a few big one's won't.
Some sites that won't work:
youtube.com (This wasn't working and then it worked for about three days and now it's not working again. It worked on all of the other computers in the house, mac or windows.)
facebook.com (This won't load on any of the mac computers in the house, but will work on our windows laptop.)
flickr.com
Sites that do work:
Google.com
apple.com
pretty much anything else.
This problem persists on both Firefox and Safari. I have tried restarting the computer, deleting the preference (.plist) files for both browsers, checking my firewall settings, and nothing has worked.
Does someone know what is wrong?
CameronI still haven't resolved this problem. Here is some more information...
youtube is the only website that has started working, but it sometimes stops working again.
There are many other sites that don't work, cnn.com, washingtonpost.com (sometimes), and a lot of others.
I have contacted our internet service provider and they said that they had nothing to do with the problem.
Some websites will not work at all. Safari tells me that it can't find the server. Some that do this are ups.com, computerworld.com, and others.
I think that the problem is that, for some reason, our mac computers can't access certain servers where we are. (We are at a small ski resort (on the mountain) in Canada.) I think this because when a site doesn't load properly there are several errors and they are all "can't find host" errors from a couple of the same sites (ex. example.something.something).
*Also, I ran a test on speedtest.net on the laptop and one of our iMacs and the results were way faster than anything actually loads/downloads or than the activity monitor shows, even when checking the activity monitor at the same time as running the test. -
Following an unplanned hard restart of our server (Mac OS X 10.9.5, Server 3.2.2), the password service won't start, so our staff can't log into mail, calendars or file sharing.
When I launch Open Directory, the main window has the message "Unable to load replica list", then it switches itself off after a minute or so.
I've looked at the certificates in Server and they have the green tick so presumably are OK.
DNS is working OK and running the command "sudo changeip -checkhostname" reports success.
Here's the section of log that repeats every few seconds as PasswordService repeatedly starts up and exits:

I have backups (both Time Machine and clones of the hard drive) that I could use to restore the corrupted bit of the configuration, if necessary, but I don't know what to restore. Many Open Directory problems can be resolved by taking the following steps. Test after each one, and back up all data before making any changes.
1. The OD master must have a static IP address on the local network, not a dynamic address. It must not be connected to the same network with more than one interface; e.g., Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
2. You must have a working DNS service, and the server's hostname must match its fully-qualified domain name. To confirm, select the server by name in the sidebar of the Server application window, then select the Overview tab. Click the Edit button on the Host Name line. On the Accessing your Server sheet, Domain Name should be selected. Change the Host Name, if necessary. The server must have at least a three-level name (e.g. "server.yourdomain.com"), and the name must not be in the ".local" top-level domain, which is reserved for Bonjour.
3. The primary DNS server used by the server must be itself, unless you're using another server for internal DNS. The only DNS server set on the clients should be the internal one, which they should get from DHCP if applicable.
4. If you have accounts with network home directories, make sure the URL's are correct in the user settings. A return status of 45 from the authorizationhost daemon in the log may mean that the URL for mounting the home directory was not updated after a change in the hostname.
5. Only if you're still running Mavericks server, follow these instructions to rebuild the Kerberos configuration on the server.
6. If you use authenticated binding, check the validity of the master's certificate. The common name must match the hostname and domain name. Deselecting and then reselecting the certificate in Server.app has been reported to have an effect in some cases. Otherwise delete all certificates and create new ones.
7. Unbind and then rebind the clients in the Users & Groups preference pane. Use the fully-qualified domain name of the master.
8. Reboot the master and the clients.
9. Don't log in to the server with a network user's account.
10. Disable any internal firewalls in use, including third-party "security" software.
11. If you've created any replica servers, delete them.
12. If OD has only recently stopped working when it was working before, you may be able to restore it from the automatic backup in /var/db/backups, or from a Time Machine snapshot of that backup.
13. As a last resort, export all OD users. In the Open Directory pane of Server, delete the OD server. Then recreate it and import the users. Ensure that the UID's are in the 1001+ range.
If you get this far without solving the problem, then you'll need to examine the logs in the Open Directory section of the log list in the Server app, and also the system log on the clients. -
Since upgrading to Yosemite on my iMac: My Mail app refuses to open, Safari won't load, and I can't upload pictures from my iPad...
Please help, any ideas very welcome. I've had my iMac since 2011, and have never had any issues to deal with before..

Open Finder
Click on GO in menu and a list box drops down
Press the ALT key (This will show the Library folder int he drop down list box that appeared)
Click LIBRARY which opens another list of folders
Click CONTAINERS which will open the container folder and should show a Textedit and Preview folder.
DELETE both these folders
And that's it!! -

What can I do to get my Aperture library back?
Thanks! -
I have been using my apple TV seamlessly with all my apple products (Mac Mini, iphone, MBP, ipad). Everything worked perfectly until recently (I noticed the issue about 3 weeks ago), when the apple TV won't load and play any movies from my iTunes library located on my MBP. The Library loads, and I can see everything, but as soon as I press play, the spinning load icon appears and doesn't stop. Same when I play movie from itunes directly and send it via airplay. Desktop mirroring no problem.
I have checked, and films are being played perfectly from my other devices, as does airplay and mirroringHello Tourneurm,

Section 8 seems to be most applicable.
8. Cannot access my library when my computer is asleep
For Apple TV to access your library while the host computer is asleep, "Wake for network access" must be turned on.
Open System Preferences > Energy Saver and select (enable) the "Wake for network access" option.
In addition, the network that the host computer and the Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation) is connected to must support Wake on Demand feature. This works by partnering with a service running on your AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule called Bonjour Sleep Proxy.

My mail won't load via iCloudonmy desktop. It comes up with the message "Missing resources". My network is working properly and I've checked Apple's reporting system to see if any systems are down (they are not). I am asked to submit the report to Apple (which I have)...but how do I correct this error sothat I can access my mail via iCloud on my desktop iMac?
Here is the error message information: DOES THIS HELP ANYONE FIGURE OUT WHAT IS HAPPENING? All other iCloud Services work.

ITunes Store won't load up!
Ok, please bare with me as this is a pretty convoluted problem and one I've fruitlessly wrestled with for a few days now.
The iTunes Store in iTunes won't load up and just gives me a never ending white page with the following on the page:
''One Moment Please.Connecting to the iTunes Store.Loading If iTunes doesn't open, click the iTunes application icon in your Dock or Windows Task Bar.''
Now I'm sure most will realise this is the holder page you'd get in your internet explorer when it pings iTunes with a store link to load, and it was when I clicked an iTunes link in Internet Exploroer 8 that this page first appeared in iTunes.
If I try to sign in, I get the (-50) unknown error, and despite all this I am abl to still comunicate with the store - if I right click on a podcast series I've already got in my libary and click 'Update Podcast' I can download podcasts through it giving me a list of undownloaded ones in the series listings in my podcast libary.
I've tried the basics; re-innstalling iTunes and restoring my system to a previous point, but nothing has rid me of this pretty deabilitating problem, and there's such a mmuddle of different problems like tihs it's hard to really get a grip on what's the issue when I'm searching here and elsewhere so I'm, hoping someone here would kindly lend me a hand and give me some directions!
I'll post a copy of a diagnostics run in my next post so you'll have all the information that's needed.Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition (Build 7600)
