Invert color of pdf

Hello,
I am not sure whether I am in the correct forum.
Nevertheless, I have a pdf (created by keynote + Latex) with light objects on dark background and before print I would like to invert all colors (in order to save on the ink). Can I do so with ColorSync and how ? Or is there another way to achieve the same goal (should work in an automatted way) ? I found out that Illustrator can do that, but only page by page which is very cumbersome for a large document.
JoJo

ok, so I've got
as my base template;
ColorTransform([redMultiplier:Number],
[greenMultiplier:Number], [blueMultiplier:Number],
[alphaMultiplier:Number], [redOffset:Number], [greenOffset:Number],
[blueOffset:Number], [alphaOffset:Number])
then I stick that in some kind of variable, like
var mc_invert = ColorTransform(...);
invertColor = ColorTransform(test_mc);
invertColor.ColorTransform(mc_invert);
... I don't think I'm parsing this right, and I haven't got a
clue what goes in "redMultiplier:Number" or "redOffset:Number"
I'm going to guess
ColorTransform([redMultiplier:-1, [greenMultiplier:-1],
[blueMultiplier:-1], [redOffset:255], [greenOffset:255],
[blueOffset:Number])

  • Inverted colors in PDF

I have some problems with CMYK images in PDF docs.
I have a pdf Doc with CMYK jpeg inside. This doc looks right. I got this image from pdf doc with some tool and this image look like negative(colors inverted). What is this? May be there is some flag to invert image in PDF or something else. I need it because I try to write this CMYK jpeg to PDF and can't get the same result. I could not find anything about it in the PDF Specification.

This is normal, the most usual result. You are probably ignoring the
Decode array and assuming that the value of samples matches the value
of samples in a CMYK JPEG.
CMYK JPEG is also a non-standardised format, which doesn't help,
    unlike PDF.

  • PDF reader with inverted colors

Do you guys know any pdf reader that's able to invert colors so the eyes won't hurt so much from reading?
I've heard foxit reader is able to do that, but there's no 64bit version in packages. Supposedly okular has that function too, but it's qt based and I'd rather avoid it.

xpdf. Use the reverse video option (-rv). It's fast too

  • Strange PDF files printing inverted colors!?

I help support an office with several macs. Two of my remote office computers have an odd problem. In Apple Preview PDF files print inverted colors. If I open the PDF in Adobe reader they print normal. They are both trying to print to Samsung ML320 printers. I have yet to find any settings in Preview or in the printer setup that would allow this to happen. For now my fix is to set Adobe reader as the default application for viewing PDF files. Worked until one employee (also running Mac) sent the remote offices a PDF file attached in Apple Mail. Somehow ONLY PDF files from this person force default to Apple Preview. How can a file override system settings to choose it's default app? Strange and again only files coming for this particular mac force a default to Preview app. So it seems these two problems combined are making things difficult here. Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks,
    A.J.

I am still having this issue on a users machine. It is to the point where I may just reimage the whole laptop. The end user went to print a two page PDF from Apple Preview the other day and the first page was inverted and the second was not! How is this possible? The PDF is fine when printed from other machines and again only Apple Preview does this. I can use Adobe PDF reader and it prints normal.

  • Playboy PDF's have inverted colors on iPad? But not on Mac.

Can anyone tell me why some-of the Playboy PDF's I downloaded have inverted colors when viewed on any iPad PDF Reader, including iBooks? But are not inverted on my Mac. And how would I fix this? Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem.  I've got a ton of pdf documents that I created using a program called Scansoft PDF Creator, from web documents.  They work and look perfectly fine on my Windows PC when viewed with Adobe Reader X.  But when I try to read them on my iPad 2 using iBooks, all of the photos appear to have their colors inverted.
It's hard to blame this on the pdf creator program, because Adobe Reader X renders them just fine.  This has got to be a bug in the iPad 2.
Incidentally I did try a system reset (thanks for the suggestion) but it did not change anything.
I hope Apple can provide a fix other than telling me to do something to modify my pdf files.

  • FrameMaker 8: TIFF imports inverting color

First let me state that I am not a FrameMaker user. So bear with me please.
I created a set of TIFF image files for a client that was going to be importing them into hardware manuals created in FrameMaker 8. For reasons that neither of us are able to determine, all of these TIFF files seem to invert image color upon import. ??? This is occurring with both the CMYK and RGB color space files.
My client is running FrameMaker 8 on the Windows platform. My TIFF files were created in Photoshop CS3 on a Mac. I have never had such a problem before and I wondered if anyone else may have encountered anything remotely similar. I read the thread on TIFFs generating grey boxes in Frame 7, but that didn't seem to relate to our issue.
I am currently assuming that there must be some setting in either Frame or PS that we are simply not using properly...or is there just a bug somewhere and we should go w/ an alternate file format. We have temporarily started using EPS files, but I would like to be able to go back to TIFFs as that's the format we're using everywhere else and would prefer not to have to keep/update more than one set of files.
If I can provide more information to help clarify what's going on, please let me know and I will attempt to do so.
I'd appreciate any insight anyone could offer here.
    Thanks much, Anne.

    Anne,
You might want to stick with TIFF. FrameMaker cannot output CMYK, only RGB. So, if your TIFF is in CMYK, Frame might convert it to RGB. And Frame does not handle color management to my knowledge.
That being said, I do not know how Frame handles TIFF images. I always use eps for graphics, especially Illustrator graphics, because Frame just passes eps files through to the printer or PDF creator, whether the eps file contains CMYK or RGB or something else.
Of course, the above is not the definitive answer, but it might help. I have no idea why the image would invert color.

  • Inverted colors

I'm having a problem with what appears to be inverted colors in Keynote slides (iWork 08).
Everything worked fine after moving to Snow Leopard for the first few days, then suddenly, I started having this problem.
One problem that preceded this one was that Keynote crashed when I tried to export a file to a PDF version. This also worked fine initially.
    Thanks for any comments.

I too have expirienced a similar problem.
I just upgraded to Snowleopard, and i installed iWork '08.
unfortunately, the colors are really messed up. For all colors on the bottom half of the spectum cirle thingy, are inverted. and the colors on the top half do not show up at all. NO BLACK FONT OR SHAPES!! *** man. ALSO, i cant open my old documents. When I try it says "Unable to open "Document" because it is not a valid Pages document. WHAT IS GOING ON? terrible unfortunate. If anyone has any valuable info i would greatly appreciate the help. THANKS.

  • Colors in pdf files changed when I open those files in the iPad.

I usually use iPad and Goodreader for reading journal articles.
There is one big problem reading the papers using iPad because colors in pdf files looks abnormal.
When I use my labtop and desktop, I can see whole colors in the pdf files, so I can see what is exactly happening in the images in pdf files.
However, I cannot catch any details from those images in pdf files when I use my iPad.
For example, some colors in the pdf files disappeared and whole images in the pdf files looks too dark.
I searched for some informations to solve this problem using google but I cannot find exact method.
Many people said about this problem for a long time (maybe three years ago?) but it has not been solved yet.
Can anyone suggest me how to solve this problem?
If this issue cannot be solved, I think I do not have any reasons for using my iPad.

You've just uncovered something I don't really know.  I had naively thought the Central Database and Cache are one and the same (and that the [ Purge Cache ] button would clear saved settings), but now I'm not so sure.
I tested by changing the parameters of a raw file, and I didn't see any files inside the Cache folder change their modification dates, which is not at all what I expected.
I don't really want to press the [ Purge Cache ] button to check it here, because I want to retain my own settings.  You could try it and see if it clears the white balance setting on a particular file.

  • How to scan both sides of document in color to pdf with the dr-m160?

how to scan both sides of document in color to pdf with the dr-m160?

    Hi healthynhappy1.
To scan a 2-sided document, you will need to change the scanner settings in the software.
If you are using Capture On Touch:
You will need to turn off the "Scan in Full Auto" option.
Next, you will open [Scanner Settings] and change the "Scanning Side" to Duplex.
Verify that the [Color Mode] shows "24-bit Color" and when you get the option to save the file, verify the [File Type] shows as "PDF".
    If you are using CapturePerfect:
    Click [Scan].
    Click [Scanner Settings].
Change the [Scan Side] to "Duplex".
Verify that [Color Mode] is set for "Color" and then save the file as "PDF".
I hope that this information is helpful to you.  Should you need further assistance, please contact us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666).  Have a great day!

  • Change menus to black background and white text (not invert colors option)?

I have an iPhone 5 on the way to me as I got one for a very good price. I am visually impaired. I currently have a Samsung Galaxy s3 which is crapping out on me after having it for a long time). One of the features I love about it is, the menus (settings, contacts, etc etc) are in high contrast (black background with white text, which is much easier on my eyes and easier to read. It is my understandiing that the iPhone is not the same way. I had a friend look on his, and the only option he found was the "Invert colors" option. The reason I don't want to use that is because it inverts ALL colors for everything on the phone, including pictures. t just want to invert the colors in all the menus so I can read them easier. Is there any way to do this? BTW it's running IOS 8.

the invert colors option is the only way to achieve that on iPhone currently
you should go to http://www.apple.com/feedback/ and request that feature added, I think a lot of people would use that

  • Invert colors of single window in i3

    Hello!
I am using i3 WM (awesome WM! ) and wanted to invert colors. In this forum I found that I can achieve it thusly:
    xcalib -invert -alter
And it works great - skype (oh, how I wish i could replace that buggy and annoying thing with something lightweight and FLOSS) and other random windows are now nice and dark but as I already have the standard gray on black terminal and a dark colorscheme for gvim they both are now too bright. Therefore I could really use a way to invert colors only for specific windows and leave the rest of my system, that is already configured dark, alone. Similarly to the Mod4+N feature in Compiz.
Some applications offer the option to invert colors for their windows but not all and it would be nice to have a quick universal means for doing it.
Can you please point me to a possible solution?
Thank you and sorry for my broken English!

Compositing would be required in order to negate the colors of individual windows. As xcompmgr does not support doing this, I think your only option would be compiz.
However, there is a program that I found a while ago called xcalib (in the AUR) that allows you to negate the colors of your entire display with this command:
    xcalib -i -a
There may be a way to do this with the standard X tools, but I'm not aware of it.

  • Preserve RGB colors in PDF/X

Is there a way to preserve RGB colors in a PDF/X document?
I always believed a PDF/X-3 allows RGB colors, but does flatten transparency. I tried that but all RGB colors become CMYK, even with "no color conversion" set in the output tab. We need it for large format printing.
A "normal" PDF (High Quality Print...) preserves RGB colors, but it doesn't flatten transparency which gave us too many problems in the past.
I'm not sure about when the colors are seen as "Device RGB" or "Calibrated RGB" in Acrobat either. What's the difference, and when does InDesign export it as Device or Calibrated RGB?

You can think of a PDF/X file as a PDF file that has already gone through a set of "preflight parameters".  For example, the following "rules" apply to ALL PDF/X files - thus if the file complies with PDF/X, you don't need to bother checking such things.
ALL fonts are embedded (may be full or subset)
ALL colors are either CMYK or Spot (for PDF/X-1a) or Color managed (PDF/X-3)
    No transparency (PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-3)
No annotations, form fields and the like covering over the page content
Bleed and Trim have been specified
    Trapping status has been specified
YES - it is most certainly possibly to preserve RGB in a PDF/X-3 file (but NOT a PDF/X-1a file).

  • 4S: How do I keep camera in regular mode with "Invert Colors" to on?

On an iPhone 4S w OS7.1, how do I keep the camera in regular mode (not negative image) and keep the "Invert Colors" swith to active or pink or (1).

" (1) how do I transfer the files from my PowerBook G4 to the nano? "
In disk mode the Nano will mount on the desktop like any removable dive, just drag the files you want onto it
"(2) How would I transfer them back again if I ever need to?"
Drag them back from the Nano to your computer
"(3) should I try to go back and find out if "optimizing" was completed, and finish it if it wasn't? How?
You would probably need to restore it to factory settings to start the process again
"(4) How do I keep the nano from automatically updating from my music files when I charge it"
You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys (on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘) keys). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. Then go to Preferences>iPod and check the "Manually manage songs and playlists" box. It won't update automatically in manual mode. You can also remove the tick from the box which says "Open iTunes when this iPod is attached".

  • Screen displaying inverted colors

Ever since I updated to 1.0.2, the iPod Nano refuses to display my stuff correctly. Sometimes, it will display everything in inverted colors, with a little sliver on the left being correctly colored.
Then, it will switch back to normal, and flash a white bar on the right side of the screen. It will stay like this until the screen cuts off, then it will go back to the inverted colors.
I don't know what this is, but if it's from the update, they'd better release a new one soon. I'm tired of having my iPod glitchy.

Have you tried resetting the iPod?
Make sure the hold switch is not locked first (i.e. you can operate the iPod buttons)
The press and hold the Menu and Centre Button down at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears on the screen, then release.
