Inverted Colours after converting images

Hey Guys,
i got a huge Problem. At my Office I have an Intel iMac 7.1. I have to convert .tiff-files into .Jpg and sometimes resize them into low resolution.
I'm using the Automator for it (Finder same Problem).
The converted Images are inverted. Funny thing is: If i put these images onto a Win PC, the files a normal, not inverted.
If I edit the converted images on the iMac again,they will displayed at the iMac normally again. However these files are inverted on a normal PC.
Do you understand me? I need to fix this bug, because i cannot work if there are 1. inverted colours in e.g. resized pictures and 2. i dont know if they have normal colours on a PC or not..
If someone of you could help me, it would be amazing..
While looking at goole, i just found one page where it says that this is an old bug from Mac OSX. But i dont have that prob at my Macbook and I never saw that somewhere..
Sorry for my mistakes, not my foreign language..
Greetz and THANKS

  • Inverted colours after unblanking screen.

    This doesn't happen all the time but on occasion after the screen unblanks and presents the lock screen i get inverted colours. The system seems to be working ok and a screenshot i got showed the right colours. A reboot fixes this.
    Any ideas where this can come from?? It started happening about a month or two ago and i don't see anything in the logs.
    Is it the DE (doubt it), Card drivers (suspect it), hardware (hopefully not)??
    I am on E17, radeon FOSS.

  • Replacing colours after an Image Trace

    Hi everyone.
    I've just used image trace to get a three colour vector of a photograph. I want to replace the three colours in the image with colours from my brand's style guide. At the moment, they're thre shades of a kind of muddy brown.
    Any ideas how I do this? The three colours in the image aren't showing in the swatch menu and I don't really know what I'm doing. :-(
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    expand the trace, then have a look under Edit > Edit Colours > Recolour Artwork. you might well be able to figure out the rest.

  • RGB mode in photoshop is highlighted red in the menu, even after converting image to CMYK..what does this mean?...

    Like above.  I just am about to send a project to the printer and need to make sure there will not be any issues during the printing process like the colors coming out weird, etc...

    not sure how that got there
    Might have been part of a Workspace.
    what do you mean by used the correct CMYK space?
    CMYK Spaces, usually described by an ICC profile, describe particular print conditions (print process, paper stock, raster width, …) and therefore simply converting to CMYK
    • may be OK (if the print condition corresponds to the CMYK Working Space) but
    • may also necessitate re-separation and avoidable loss of quality (if the target space and CMYK Working Space differ)

  • Interact Basler Camera with Labiview and convert image colours in temperature

    Hello,
    as the title suggests I need to combine a Basler camera with labview ( version 8.6 or higher) and convert the colours of the image in temperature signals. I have some thermocouples which measure temperatures of a black paper which change colour with the temperature, so I would like either to:
    1) define a calbiration curve so that for each colour corresponds a temperature
    2) dinamically calibrate, so that labview reads the temperature from the tempscan and at the same time knows the colour and derive a curve of calibration (of course we are speaking about a high number of measurements of temperature: 24).
    I guess the first method should be straightforwards, since I'm new to LV as well as to this camera I would like to know if you might give me any suggestion how to implement the curve of calibration and pick up the photo. The second method, I think is nice but quite difficult.
    Thank you very much
    Cheers,
    Antonio

    Hi Antonio,
    We have already spoken on the phone but I thought it would be a good idea to attach the very basic example code on here so that the community can see it.
    The code converts a colour into a decimal number. This number can then be used with a look-up table or calibration curve to get the respective temperature signal.

  • Problem changing fill colour after image trace?

    I am using illustrator cc 2014 to trace a jpeg image. After tracing I want to change the colour of the resulting image. The default colour after tracing is black but the image fill colour is showing as a question mark and when I go to change the colour the whole artboard turns grey no matter what colour I choose. I know the document is in CMYK. Does any one know whats going on here?

    Hi I'm still having trouble with this here are a couple of images of the before and after.
    This is the traced and expanded image:
    And after I select a colour:
    There are two problems with this, first is that its gone grey (I'm definitely in CMKY mode) and second is it did not fill the image in the way I had intended.
    What am I doing wrong?

  • Border became thicker after converting to pdf

    Hi,
    I am using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional. I converted an excel sheet which consist of text, number, colored border (thin border). After converting to pdf, I have found that all the borders in the pdf file which i just created become thicker. I would like to have everything same as i do the print preview in excel. Could you please advice what are the posible problems and how to get this fixed? I am using both excel 2007 and 2003.
    Thanks you very much for your time.
    Regards,
    sanlen

    I converted it to pdf so I could fly it into Photoshop and change the resolution to 350 (I wish i could just do this in pages...it is a print design program right?
    Adobe Photoshop is a colour correction and colour composition tool for professional photographers. You edit the pixel values of your photographs in this tool.
    When you are done editing the pixel values, you embed the ICC RGB working space into your image, and place your image e.g. in TIFF file format into a pagination tool.
    Apple Pages is a pagination tool, whether you work in continuous colum mode (typewriter style) or in area composition mode (typesetter style).
    You use a pagination tool in area composition mode to
    a. create frames for area composition,
    b. flow text into the frames,
    c. format the text with a typographic appearance.
    You use a pagination tool in area separation mode to
    a. create frames for area separation,
    b. import ICC color managed raster images e.g. in TIFF format into the frames,
    c. import ICC colour managed vector formats e.g. PDF format into the frames.
    You then either stream directly to a printing device in
    a. Adobe PostScript, or
    b. Hewlett-Packard Printer Command Language
    Or you save to disk for offline or online distribution in
    a. Adobe Portable Document Format.
    It has been possible to open PDF in Adobe Illustrator since version 6, if memory serves, and newer versions of Adobe Photoshop are also able to open PDF. There are a range of reasons for wanting to do this, one of which is to rasterise the PDF at a specified resolution. It is more difficult to open a PDF for the purpose of editing it, since in PostScript and in PDF the structure information in the form of blank spaces (kerning spaces, word spaces, spaces between columns) may be represented as move to commands.

  • Inverted colour on display

    Hi all smart people,
    Yesterday I took my iBook G4 to Uni and then home again and obviously somewhere along the way I bumped it or did something to it because I went to open it up this morning and the screen is not working properly. The computer works fine except that it seems the screen has been inverted. All the colours have been inverted.
    No idea what could be wrong as I have no experience in these things.
    Thanks

    I am having this same problem, it is not hardware related from what i can tell.
    On my Powerbook G4 1.25 Ghz computer, today i came home and the screen had gone inverted (like a negative image filter is on every single item on the screen) -- then. I rebooted, and the startup screen was normal Apple Blue, i could even choose between my 2 usernames on a Login screen.
    after logging in, the screen is back to being invterted, so it must be some sort of user preference that got corrupted.
    sounds like the same problem soopahero is encountering.
    Another factor: when I login remotely (via VNC), i do not see the colors inveterted in my remote window.

  • Can't create hyperlinks after converting a Word document with Acrobat XI Pro

    Hello,
    Here's my problem.
    I'm making a catalog document for my company.
    The document that I'm converting to PDF is made on Office Word 2013 and it's a .docx format file.
    I'm on Windows 8 and the latest version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro installed.
    Inside my word document I have some pictures that have a hyperlink. Those hyperlinks directionate to a bookmark inside the word document. Inside the word document, if I do Ctrl+Click over the image, it will go to the page that has that bookmark. And it works. Period.
    Beside that I also have some Cross-references on the word document. Those cross-references basically are the page number from the bookmark reference. By accident on most of those cross-refrences I left enabled the "Insert as hyperlink" on the cross-reference box options. When I Ctrl+Click over those cross-references I also go into the page of that cross-reference.
    After I convert the word document into pdf, I can't get any hyperlink on the pictures, if I simply click on them, like if I click on a hyperlink on a webpage or something similar, the pdf won't go the the bookmark on the page that I've set on the word document.
    The funny thing is that if I click on the other cross-references I can go to the page were that cross-reference is...
    I tried all the methods to convert the file in order to obtain hyperlinks on the images...
    I tried to use the Acrobat tab and the File -> Save as Adobe PDF, as both uses Acrobat PDFMaker, but nothing works.
    Even tried all options on Acrobat PDFMaker but can't get it. "Create bookmarks", "Add links", "Convert Word Bookmarks", "...Word Styles to Bookmarks", "...Word Headings to Bookmarks", none works....
    If I try to simply print from inside Word by choosing the Adobe PDF printer (like if I choose a regular printer), in the printers options it doesn't show up any hyperlink/link/bookmark option related, so that way is definitely a no go...
    To reference, on 2006/2007 I also worked on a similar project and used this method on the word document (on Word 2003). At that time I had another Adobe Acrobat version, can't remember what version was...
    This hyperlink situation was without any problem. After conversion, on the pdf file, if I click on a image it went to the right place inside that pdf file...
    So I'm simply lost wether it's a problem of me, a problem of Word, a problem from Acrobat... simply lost...
    I'm desperated....please, someone help me!!!

    Ok, sorry for never talk since the last time, but I finally discovered why I had this problem.
    I found out that M$ decided somehow to change the process of embedded hyperlinks on a image, but in a docx it doesn't get affected. Only after transforming it into a pdf by Acrobat that the problem emerges...
    I found this site http://www.pb-solv.net/2013/08/embed-pictures-in-microsoft-word.html
    Basically all I have to do is "Use Insert, Quick Parts, Field, IncludePicture. This inserts the picture in the old way as a field. You can use Alt-F9 to reveal the field codes and change the images to be embedded rather than linked."
    Then, after converting it with acrobat, the pdf finally have hyperlinks on the images!!!
    They change this on Word 2007. As I had the 2003, at the time, I didn't had this problem.
    As I said, M$ changed something, but only is affected after converting with acrobat. So, acrobat also missed something in the process. I call it a 50/50 guilt.
    To bad no one ever notice this problem...

  • Converting Images to CMYK for Print Publication

    When in my workflow should I be converting images to CMYK for print publication?
    Currently, I shoot RAW photographs with my DSLR in Adobe RGB, import the images into Photoshop for manipulation and then convert the final, sized image to CMYK before placing it in my Indesign document. Before going to print, I convert my files to PDF using the [PDF/X-1a:2001] preset. I use a calibrated system with a profile set for my monitor.
    Since many of my pictures have shades of green, I'm often disappointed with the conversion to CMYK because I lose saturation and brightness. Am I doing anything wrong? Is there a better way of preserving the quality of colour in my images when going to a commercial printer?

    To see in InDesign what color shifts will occur, use View=>Proof Colors.
    I would also recommend View=>Overprint Preview.
    Yes there are color shifts when converting RGB to CMYK, but those are due to the fact that the gamut of CMYK is significantly less than AdobeRGB or even sRGB. The same color shifts going to CMYK will occur whether you convert the image in Photoshop or in InDesign during PDF export or at the RIP.
    Keeping the color in ICC color managed RGB has the advantage that last minute changes can be made as to what CMYK printing conditions are used, i.e. all CMYK is not the same. Furthermore, if you convert RGB to CMYK early in the workflow, you lose the ability to maintain the color gamut for display of the PDF as well as for printing to high fidelity color devices, i.e., offset or digital (especially inkjet) devices that have extra colorants such as light cyan, light magenta, orange, and/or green to dramatically expand the gamut. Once you lose the gamut in your imagery via conversion to CMYK, you can't go back.

  • How do I remove extra space after an image in an ePub created with InDesign?

    I've designed more than a dozen ebooks with InDesign and have recently been having problems with the spacing after images, both images that are anchored in the text or stand-alone and exported through the Articles Panel. Following are a few details:
    • In the Object Export Settings, I have the vertical spacing set to 0 both before and after the images and no breaks added.
    • In the Export panel, I do not have any vertical spacing applied to images.
    • I do not have any Object Style settings applied.
    • It doesn't seem to matter if I anchor the image into the text or have it as a stand-alone image in the Articles Panel with the caption after it in a separate text box, also in the Articles Panel.
    • I broke down the ePub into an html file and did not see any div or span classes that were different between images that are showing correctly vs. incorrectly.
    • Extra space appears in both iBooks on my computer, as well as on my iPad.
    • I converted to a mobi file for the Kindle and the space wasn't there.
    See attached screen shot. There shouldn't be that big gap between the image and the orange caption.
    Any help or suggestions anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I've tried everything I can think of with the same results over and over!

    Yes. That is the technique I traditionally use to drop an image into text. I even cut and pasted again as you suggested with the same result. Trust me, this is driving me nuts. I'm not doing anything different than before, but my results are different, even within the same document. I'll attach a few examples, all from this same document.

  • Problem with psychedelic colours after encoding in iDVD6

    I'm working on a long project in iDVD6 that just fits on a dual-layer disc. Everything is ok except for one particular movie. This clip starts out in mostly a greyscale colour scheme then dissolves to full colour after a few minutes. In the project, this plays fine.
    I encode to a disc image and no errors are reported. On a dual g5, this takes about 10 hours to encode.
    When I mount the image and check it, this colour problem arises. After the grey sequence, the colour sequence looks like random colour garbage. Very psychedelic but not the look I need for this project.
    I tried deleting the encoded assets, re-exporting the movie file in question a couple times, and also sneaking some colour information into the greyscale opening sequence via a single line of colour pixels across the top of the 640x480 frame.
    I will try exporting the movie from my editor with another codec. Any other suggestions for fixing my LSD video problem?
    Thanks,
    Jaeson

    Hi
    Was just a shoot in the dark. I try to have > 25Gb free. So You are well up to it.
    No clever ideas - sorry.
    Not knowing the origin to Your problem - General approach when in trouble is as follows:
    Many possible origins. Most common:
    • Free space on internal (start-up) hard disk if it is less than 10Gb should rather have 25Gb
    • Hard disk is untidy: Repair Permissions, Repair Hard disk (Apple Disc Util tool)
    • Delete iMovie pref file - or rather start a new user/account - log into this and re-try
    • Third party plug-ins that doesn't work OK
    • Program miss-match: iMovie 6.0.3 or 6.0.4, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.4 - is OK
    iMovie pref file resides: Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences
    and is named: com.apple.iMovie.plist
    While iMovie is NOT RUNNING - move this file out to desk-top.
    Now restart iMovie.
    Yours Bengt W

  • Can I batch convert images in a folder hierarchy?

    I can't seem to be able to create an Action or Droplet in Photoshop CS5 that will batch convert images in situ in a hierarchy of folders. In the Photoshop Actions you have to specify an explicit destination, and there's no "save back to the same place" option that I can find.
    I used to be able to do this with ImageReady CS2, but Tiger is going to kill that. Help!

    If you want to give it a try, paste the following text into a new file in ExtendScript Toolkit (part of Photoshop’s installation, Applications/Utilities/Adobe Utilities/ExtendScript Toolkit CS4 or /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Utilities-CS5/ExtendScript Toolkit CS5) and save it as a jsx-file into Photoshop’s Presets/Scripts-folder.
    After restarting Photoshop the Script should be available under File > Scripts and can be assigned a Keyboard Shortcut directly, recorded into an Action, (in CS4 and CS5) be used in a Configurator-Panel or started from ExtendScript Toolkit directly.
    // 2011, use it at your own risk;
    #target photoshop
    if (app.documents.length > 0) {
    // get document-path and -name; thanks to xbytor;
         var myDocument = app.activeDocument;
         var myDocName = myDocument.name.match(/(.*)\.[^\.]+$/)[1];
         var myPath = myDocument.path;
    // save for web options;
         var webOptions = new ExportOptionsSaveForWeb();
         webOptions.format = SaveDocumentType.COMPUSERVEGIF;
         webOptions.optimized = true;
         webOptions.colorReduction = ColorReductionType.ADAPTIVE;
         webOptions.dither = Dither.NONE;
         webOptions.quality = 100;
         webOptions.includeProfile = true;
         webOptions.matteColor = new RGBColor();
         webOptions.matteColor.red = 255;
         webOptions.matteColor.green = 255;
         webOptions.matteColor.blue = 255;
    // export;
         myDocument.exportDocument(new File(myPath+"/"+myDocName+".gif"), ExportType.SAVEFORWEB, webOptions);
    Edit:
    The Script could be recorded into an Action.
    It would also be possible to create a Script that offers a dialog for File- or Folder-selection and subsequently operates on all selected/contained files of specified formats, but that would be a different approach from the Droplet.

  • Converting image sequence

    Dear Sirs,
    when I convert image sequence into a ProRes 4444 + Alpha using Compressor i noticed a difference in brightness with the original content.
    This happens every time i elaborate in After Effect a special effect.
    The images in output from AF are identical to the original, after the conversion there is this difference.
    I tried to create a custom ProRes 4444 + Alpha setting changing to "none" the gamma conversion into the Quick Time settings panel, nothing changes.
    Can you help me to find the right solution?
    thank you
    Aldo

    Thanks, Nick, that already doubles or more my knowledge.
    As far as final form, could be one of many. Leading candidates are QuickTime (.mov), MPEG (.mp4) or iPhone (.m4v). (Is iPhone format just a special case of MPEG-4?)
    I'm generating the frames as .png files using Perl's GD library. They are very compact and in fact the primitive QuickTime movies I make from them, with all media included in the file, are still very small. (E.g. a 600-frame movie is half a meg.) Converting each frame to JPG actually increases the size dramatically (could spend more time tweaking the JPG conversion).
    At first I thought .png would be good because I could play them easily in an iPhone app. But then I started thinking perhaps it would be better to turn them into a movie and then tell the iPhone app "play movie" rather than handle all the timing of rendering each frame myself. And synchronization of audio... a big can o' worms to roll your own.
    I have had the experience twice of upgrading QuickTime to QuickTime Pro only to see the Pro-ness vanish in the next QT upgrade. @#$%! But you may be right that QT Pro would suffice.

  • Hey guys, I'm having trouble matching the colour of the image back ground (white) with the pre-set colour selection. is there a tool that can help me? thanks

    hey guys, I'm having trouble matching the colour of the image back ground (white) with the pre-set colour selection. is there a tool that can help me? thanks

    Your description of the problem is not quite clear so I made certain assumptions. I hope I am rigtht. I believe you have a color patch such as this:
    that you would like to place in an image area that has modeling in its white background. You do not want to lay in a flat color but rather to add a color and not lose the modeling or other background tone. The problem is, after making the selection, if you use Edit > Fill and set the Blending mode to Color, the white background remains white. The only colored background area may be an object's shadow or some similar area that is not pure white. (Image 2) It is an unsatisfactory result.
    If that is an accurate description of the problem, consider this:
    Image 1: The original image
    Image 2: Edit > Fill with the Blending mode set to Color. White remains white
    Image 3: Mode changed to Lab Color. Edit > Fill with the Blending Mode set to Color. Then return to RGB.
    (I would not normally use this green as a replacement color but since it is a Tiffany clock, I chose a light version of Tiffany's trademark color.)
