Investigation Discovery channel in HD #623???? anyone have it???

Recieved Verizon's spotlight magazine today ans was surprised to see  on page 16 that it listed investigaion Discovery channel as being on channel 623 in hd  well when i went to look channel 623 does not exist in my guide,  Can someone please explain this /   i am in Claymont DE VHO 8  - why would you note a channel when it doesn't exist at least for me

yes you are right it is only in SD here - why do you have it in HD and where are you located?  (PS- I have the channel lineup and it is not listed)   but thanks for info anyway

    The message seems to totally disappear. It is going to an AOL customer in UK. I changed their address to start with a lowercase letter & the message was returned to me by AOL as undeliverable, I then changed the first letter of the address beck to upper case, the same I have been using for years, but again it disappeared.

  • SCOM 2012 SNMP Trap - Does anyone have it working?

    I am wondering if anyone out there has had any luck with getting SNMP Traps to be captured by SCOM 2012?  Probes work fine.
    We have been unable to get SCOM 2012 to receive a SNMP Trap from network devices.  We currently have a case open with Microsoft, but they dont have any answers as of yet.
    Here are the cliff notes version of what we have done so far.
    Discovery - OK
    The nodes discover without issue.  I made sure they were set to SNMP only.  I did this to verify we were talking SNMP and not just ICMP.
    Open Ports/Firewall Issues
    No firewalls are in place on the SCOM server and none exist between devices we are trying to get traps from.  Using a port tool, I can see that UDP 162 is listening as expected and its the System Center Management Host Process that is running the
    process.  We have tried having SNMP installed, but disabled, installed and running, and uninstalled.  Currently we have the SNMP service installed and running.  The SNMP Trap Service is NOT installed.
    Data Validation
    Using Wireshark running on the SCOM box I have been able to validate the OIDs we are searching for are hitting the SCOM server.  I installed an SNMP Trap generator and Receiver on my local machine as well as Jalasoft SNMP Simulator.  I was able
    to discover my local machine as a network device and if I send a TRAP from the TRAP generator on my local machine to the receiver on my local machine I can validate the data is coming through ok.
    What has been done on SCOM side
    The simplest place to look for data is with an Event Collection Rule and then an Event View Monitor.  We have set up an Event Based Monitor to search for an OID that I know to be accurate and then I set up an Event monitor to look for
    anything hitting that Collection Rule.  The Event monitor showed nothing so we changed the EVent Monitor to look for anything that hit Node which should show any SNMP traps that have hit from network devices.  No results.
    We tried to run WFAnalyzer from the 2007R2 Authoring Console, but it wont run against 2012 and from what I have found the 2012 edition doesnt exist anywhere yet.
    So has anyone succesfully received a SNMP TRAP into SCOM 2012?

    People have given troubleshooting advice, but nobody has actually answered the simple question.  Do they have it actually WORKING?

    Re wifi:
    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

    Anyone have these settings in their Quicktime? I got this tip from Worldstart.com this AM. I have this problem with I-Tunes when a song starts to play sometimes it stutters,skips. I tried to get QuickTime settings she tals about but I don't have them in Win QT 7.5

    Every once in awhile, my iTunes music skips. It's fine when I'm listening to the music on my iPod, but if I'm just using my computer, it all skips. What's going on?

    Okay, so we have established that iTunes is a great musical discovery, but it leaves much to be desired when it starts to skip. Nobody likes to listen to their music with a bunch of stutters in between, am I right?! So, let's look at some reasons why iTunes might be doing this to you.
    You can use the task manager to shut down other programs to see if that stops the skipping, but that's not really too convenient for anyone.
    A lot of times, the skipping problem lies within the QuickTime program that you need to have in order for iTunes to work. There are a couple settings you can change in QuickTime to combat the stuttering issue. To do this, make sure your iTunes is shut down and go to Start, Control Panel. Once in there, double click on the QuickTime icon. You must be in the classic Control Panel view for this to work.
    (Tab is called QuickTime settings,I don't have in mine, only Preferences)
    Once in there, use the drop down menu at the very top of the dialogue box and choose Sound Out. This will allow you to work within the sound output elements of your QuickTime.
    (These also are tabs within QuickTime I don't have, and I have the very latest 7.5 QuickTime installed)
    Now, under the choice that says "Choose a device for playback," use the drop down menu and select "waveOut." You can then just close the QuickTime window. You don't need to press OK or anything, just completely close it out.
    Next, restart your iTunes and your skipping problem should be resolved. You can start listening to your music again, while doing your other work as well, without any further problems. Like I said before, you should try this little suggestion before you go out and get more RAM, but if the problem persists, that may be just what you'll have to do. Either way, it's worth it for your music, right?!

    That site is either a bit inaccurate or describes an earlier version of QuickTime. Go to the QuickTime control panel, double-click on it to open it (it will indeed open QuickTime Preferences), click on the Audio tab, and check the box that says "Safe Mode (waveOut only)". That has in some cases cured the "stuttering".

  • Anyone have an example of a PCI-6250 Digital and Analog Aquistion with Analog Post-Trigger?

    We're trying to set up a post trigger data capture of parallel absolute strobed Gurley 17-bit encoder data (ignoring MSB for 16-bit aquisition) with an analog signal that is the output of a torque load cell.  The trick is to use the analog signal level as a post-trigger to stop the data aquisition.
    1) can the analog signal be recorded and used as the trigger?
    2) does anyone have an example using the PCI-6250 (or 6251)

    Hi Drewski,
    You can use the APFI0 line as an analog trigger for your signal. However, in this case you need to connect your analog signal to both the analog channel you want to acquire at and the APFI0 line.
    Assuming you are using LabVIEW,you can check the "Acq&Graph Voltage-Ext Clk-Analog reference.vi" example. This examples uses an external clock but it works also with the internal clock. All you have to do to change the control to onboard clock.

  • Discovery channel very stale now

    Its been bugging me for over  a year now but the discovery channel is becoming extremley boring and stale.
    Questions for BT
    1. when are we finally going to get some of discoverys bigger shows?
    2. and why or why do you still advertise a new series of something and get our hopes up, until we find out that you have only placed one episode of a show avaliable in the series. Not really a series is it, and no other shows every get added from the series.
    3. Have bt had a change of heart regarding the discovery,history and NG channels as they are gradualy getting worse.
    example ice road truckers, even channel 5 can afford to show this show but series one ended on vision over a year ago and still waiting for series 2...

    At least I have untill 9pm on 5/04/11 to decide what to do with our TV package... BT Vision, Sky or Virgin...
    I think I might get everyone to write what channels they have been watching over the next week and decide from there- what to do with the TV side of things...
    To be honest- I think the only stuff the rest of the family watch is all BBC, ITV, Sky Sports 1, Sky Sports 2, ESPN, C4, C5, Quest, Music On Demand, Poor TV Choice selection and Catch Up TV services anyway...
    Yes- we pay £23.00 for all Sky Sports channels but only watch Sky Sports 1 & 2...
    And of course the Virgin+ PVR is full of recordings from the BBC, ITV and C4...

    Yeah I got this on HD-DVD and I would say it is one on the best HD programs out there of its kind. It is really on do not miss. They do have re runs on it that play every now and again. But I would say jump on eBay and get it on HD-DVD or Blu-Ray of you have the players.

    In a discussion captioned PSE 4.0 vs 5.0 (current last message 43, Oct 3, 2006)there is the exchange below. I decided to start a new thread because the old one had gone elsewhere.
    Two questions: Does anyone have experience with SmartCurve? And does it care about version? I have PSE3. However, the software does not specify but was updated 9/11/06 and thus is for PSE4 at least.

    Jack,
    You assumed correctly. Grant's Curve tool can only access the composite RGB channel. His tool does have the advantage of using an adjustment layer mask...so you can mask out parts you don't want adjusted by the curve. The advantage of using a mask vs a duplicate layer and eraser is that with a mask you never destroy pixils...just hide them...so if you make a mistake it can save a lot of time and frustration. On the negative side, you won't be able to reopen the curves adjustment layer once okayed...but you can still edit the mask.
    BTW, Grant's tool sets includes several tools so it's a worthwhile download. However, if you have Hidden Elements installed, I don't know if you'd get anything extra/different. BTW, there's a freeware Hidden Elements set on the Adobe Exchange which might also be worth looking at. I'm not sure what all is packed in that set...and I'm not sure where they've got it stashed...perhaps Actions or maybe Plugins.

    For performance monitoring, I have had good experience with the Precise
    Indepth for J2EE product. There is a competing product from Wily &
    Associates, but I haven't used it. BMC also provides a monitoring plugin
    for Weblogic, but I don't think it is performance related -- it is more an
    event-raising product more in line with older big iron monitoring products
    that I've used.
    You might also want to check out Peakstone, Securant and Manage.com. They
    all had somewhat related products at the BEA eWorld show.

    By default the source of counter 0 while using the 9401 is located on PFI0 or pin 14.  In order to determine the rest of the pins have a look at the image below.  I was able to get this information from by right clicking my device in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) and selecting device pinouts.
    You can also specify which PFI line the counter outputs on.  In order to use this you use a DAQmx Channel Property node and modify the Counter Output Pulse Terminal.  Have a look at the screen shot below

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
    Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
    You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.
