Invincible Read Mode on Toolbar

I have full control over which icons appear on my toolbar. All of them, that is except the 'Read Mode' button. I cannot remove it.
Unfortunately, I seem to keep clicking this button unintentionally and would like to remove it. I don't use read mode much, and if I do want it, it's still in the Tools menu.
Am I missing something, or can I not remove this button as I can all the others?

Mlenz,
You can learn about buffering data from our website, or in the LabVIEW help.  By using the Datasocket Buffered Read, you are enabling Client-side Buffering.  If you do not use a Buffered Read, then the LabVIEW does not store the values in a buffer, which are written when the value changes.
Hope this helps,

  • Adobe Reader Read Mode Floating Toolbar Missing Page Numbers

How do I get the page numbers to show up in the Read Mode toolbar.
    Mine are missing.
I Googled it for a while and wasn't able to find anything.

Could it be related to a group policy setting?

  • Remove Read Mode Hovering Toolbar from Local Installation

You can just jump to the below red colored question if you don't want to read the supporting description.
I prefer to read PDF documents especially long ones in a non-disturbing manner.
More like in a clean look that is trending with cleaner designs in MS Office, Win 8, and others.
Here is an example of kind of view I am talking about that I would like.
We can get up to this point with few simple key stokes, Ctrl+H (Read Mode) would hide your side navigation tab and your main toolbar.
F9 would hide your Menu bar. Now all you have is the title bar, scrolling bar, and the bottom highlighted hovering toolbar.
Granted that yes you can move around the hovering toolbar by simple dragging and that it fades in-out but with any mouse movement it appears back on.
Yes its useful for controls, but if I want any I can just press Ctrl+H and/or F9 and it will bring me all the controls necessary.
I can use full screen mode yes for removing all the excess visuals and purely focus on the document but I can't select text or do any other things unless I come out of the full screen mode, which then destroys the purpose of clean look bringing back to normal look.
    QUESTION
How to remove the Hovering Toolbar from the read mode?
We are not talking about embedding setting in a PDF so that it would do that on any computer but configure my local computer's Adobe Reader so that every time I go into read mode I wouldn't have to see the above highlighted hovering toolbar.
If there is some simple setting to disable it that's great, if I would have to do some destructive work and remove code/files to get rid of the hovering toolbar that's fine too.
    Thanks.

  • Table toolbar disappeared in the screen reader mode in Oracle ADF

I have a validation message box(pop up) opening from a button action from page fragment(jsff) page and in screen reader mode the message box shows up as default on the same page instead of pop up message box and
and below the message box there is this message information "Press escape to exit this popup." and when I click ESC key it then shows up the main default page with the table toolbar disappeared. In the screen reader mode the ADF framework is taking total control over the showing message box as default on the same page instead of pop up message box and showing below message " Press escape to exit this popup.". My question is how to edit this page and is there any way to get rid of below message information. I also want to know does ADF provide any API in screen reader mode to control the table toolbar disappearing. I really appreciate any help or advice or any work around to solve this issue.
    Eagerly waiting for the response.

  • How to set "Read mode" as default view for a pdf?

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to open a pdf in "Read mode" (to get the floating toolbar) whenever an user open it in Acrobat Reader. Is there anyway to set this option in the pdf like "Open in full screen mode"?
    Or
Can we add any little javascript to acheive this?
    Or
Is there any other way to get the floating toolbar and add it into the pdf whenever we require?
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Muthuraj. D

No. Read Mode is a choice made by the user, nothing in the document can force it to happen.
There is no scripting or API access to the heads-up-display "floating toolbar".

  • Need Javascript to force reading mode on document open...

Need Javascript to force reading mode on document open... Does anyone know how to do this? Acrobat 8 does not come with a custom action for opening a page in reading mode...
Would also like the remove the page scroll bar from the document window. Can this also be applied using Javascript?

This code will embed a script that will open the doc in Reading Mode:
    this.addScript("OpenInReadingMode","app.execMenuItem('ReadingMode');");
You can't remove the toolbar from the document window, only in full screen mode it's invisible.

  • How to hide save button / read mode only in browser adobe viewer?

Currently I embed a pdf to my website , the problem is, I would like to show the read mode only instead of a full tool bar to the visitor , also , I would like to hidden the save file option .

However, can I specific what opition is allow in the toolbar (actually I would like to allow only zoom function )
Are there any way to doing this? Thanks.

Much of the documentation for Acrobat JavaScript has not changed and still operates exactly as it did with Acrobat 3.1 so it is possible that the old documentation is still valid. I have found that the Acrobat JavaScript Guide fro
version 5 has some very excellent documentation about the field object UI for the various form Fields.
If one goes to the Acrobat Developer Center and uses the Working with Distiller, Fonts and more and the uses the PDF Open Parameters one gets the documentation from the version 9.0 SDK form June 2008. This document probably has not been updated since then.  Another issue to consider is the changes in IE, the number of new web browsers, and the introduction of HTML 5 all of which could change how parameters are passed or allowed. This technique has always been problematic.
Within an external viewer, it is not possible to show/hide the toolbars.

  • Is it possible to sort data in reading mode?

    Hi everyone,
When user view WEBI reports in reading mode, are there any options or API that allow them to sort the information as their desire? User should not switch to design mode for just to sort the data.
    Currently, I'm on BI 4.0.
    Please share your ideas!!
    Thanks,
    Daro

    Hi Daro,
    You can sort the values in read Mode without having Admin privileges. You just need to select that column and Click on Sort button like Microsoft Word. To see "Sort" option, you have to open the Report toolbar as below;
    Open any Document->View->Toolbar->Report
Now Report toolbar is visible and you will get "Sort" option there. Now click on any column you want to sort and after that click on SORT button in Report toolbar.
Try it and let us know if you face any issues.
    Cheers,
    Sahil

  • Clutter free reading mode. (hiding the tool bars etc.)

So I've been using this addon called Clearly from Evernote. It works great I'm happy with it.
But other thing is I want a fully clutter free reading mode.
Such as the one in Adobe Reader, ctrl+h and you're left alone with the text only. No toolbars, no menus nothing.
Is there anyway to do this in Firefox?
I checked out other reader mode addons but they're just like Clearly.

    Hi emrecnl,
you can just go into full screen mode. Here's an article for how that's done: [[How to make Firefox and websites go full screen]]. That will still show you at least the tab bar though. If you want to get rid of everything, there is an add-on for that: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/FF_Fullscreen/?src=search

  • Acrobat 8 Reading Mode Question

I have Acrobat 8, updated to ver. 8.1.2., running on XP. When I select View>Reading Mode the display doesn't go directly to what I would understand to be Reading Mode. Rather, the first instance removes the Navigation Panel only, the second instance removes the toolbars but restores the Navigation Panel, finally on the third instance, both the Navigation Panel and the Toolbars are removed. When I choose View>Reading Mode while in Reading Mode, the display is returned to the normal mode directly.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

Your process was probably fine, but the precision you want requires care in setting the boundaries. You can crop the right side on ALL pages and repeat the process for the left side. You then only have 2 files to work with. If you turn on the ruler or check the boundaries in the crop you should be able to get identical page sizes. It is interesting that the printer marks for the vertical markings do not line up from top to bottom.
Be aware that your cropping is just that. I just uncropped and got back all of the duplicates with the page numbers and all. Looks like you had done some rearranging and all. You will likely want to get rid of the uncropped information. The only way I know to do that is to reprint the PDF, which should be no problem for your scan. I am attaching an example of what I just mentioned. In practice, you should really redo the original and not try to play with a scan. The file is 2MB, that is large for just a 12 page document. This is all because you are playing with a scanned document. It appears that your original is even larger at 3MB, but part of the difference may be in my Adobe PDF printer preferences.
I strongly suggest you find the original document and work with it to get the style you want and then make a new PDF directly from the original. For posting on the web, that should be a lot cleaner (the graphics would still look nice - not too great with your scan) and the size should be substantially smaller. Thus I am suggesting an entirely different workflow. Bill

  • PDF printer has a problem with Safari in "Reader" mode in Windows7

As shown in the image above. When I try to use the PDF printer to print out a web page in Safari "Reader" mode, the lines near the bottom of each page get squeezed like this. There is no problem with XPS printer. I guess this problem is because of some incorrect settings in Safari or the PDF printer?
My system is Windows 7 Pro. I am using Acrobat X Pro. The page I am trying to print is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_band_structure. This problem only happens when the webpage is adjusted into "Reader" mode in Safari.

    Many thanks for your reply!
I am sorry, I did not make my question clear. I would like to save some web pages only in "Reader" mode, because in this mode all the advertisements are filtered out and the pages look much nicer than the origional layout.
I first let Safari to active "Reader" by clicking "Reader" button.
Then I click "Print" button and select Adobe PDF as the printer.
The problem is the PDF file has something wrong (shown above), and I would like to know how to avoid this problem.
