Invisibility of Tags in OS X Mavericks system

Invisibility of Tags in OS X Mavericks system :
We ask Apple to enable colorization of the entire text of the title files (as with the label Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion)
and not having a simple little tag virtually non color visible and located after the title text file.
We believe that this significant improvement in signs or identifyings should not be too complicated to be implemented
by the next update of OS X Mavericks Apple  system.

  • Has anyone had problems signing on Mac Pro with the new Maverick system. I seem to starting typing my name and after about five letters I lose the first three which screws up the sign on and I have to start over. Any ideas on a cure?

I am having trouble with my sign in with the new Maverick system. I type 4 or 5 letters of my name and three disappear and I have to start over. It does it all the time and even when my wife signs in with her name  and password. Anyone know a cure. Dave

Try resetting the admin pasword ...
OS X: Changing or resetting an account password  <  instructions are for Lion and Mountain Lion but should work on Mavericks.
Or, try here > OS X: Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password

  • Why do I get an error message when installing latest version of Java in my Maverick system?

I have been trying t install Java 10.5 update 4 in my computer.  My compputer was upgraded from Mountain Lion to Mavericks.
Whenever I try the install Java, I get an error message saying Java for Mac 10.5 update 4 can't be installed on my disk, as that software can only be installed on Mac OS X Leopard.  I know Java 10.5 is the lattest version, so why can't I install in on my Mavericks system?

10.5 is too old for Mavericks.  You want the update from http://www.java.com/
Java 7v52 is the latest Java.

  • I recently purchased an iMac with Maverick system. I want to know can I install my Photoshop CS5  on this computer then upgrade it to CS6 without a months charge in the cloud?

I recently purchased an iMac with Maverick system. I want to install my Photoshop CS5 on it, is that okay?
Then I want to update it to CS6 without the iCloud purchase monthly (don't want that, want a one time charge)???

As per System requirements | Photoshop, PS is not officially supported on Maverick and you might face several compatibility issues as well. However, we have many users who are still using CS5 on Mavericks. So, if you want you can give it a try and check it for your self.
As far as CS6 is concerned, you can get PS CS6 perpetual version easily from Adobe.com Creative Suite 6
    Hope that Helps!

Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Been trying for a week to download new Maverick system..with no success.
for over a week. Keep getting this (This Apple ID has not yet been used with the App Store.)
Not getting any new updates either. Just don't have time for this ..crap.
Already, got my new Apple ID verified nad everything.. MySamsung never had these kind of problems..

Samsung.  Are you serious.  I tried to talk with their technical people today about using a wireless headphone with my Samsung television.   The 'technician', from Bangladesh as far as I could tell, was so technically deficient she had to run away every minute or so to consult with someone.  Even then I could barely understand what she was saying when she did speak.
So much for Samsung customer care.

  • Macbook pro Mavericks system totally stop and unresponsible

Macbooks in new OS mavericks can suddenly totally stop work. System time does not go, trackpad does not move the pointer and image on screen freeze. Only reboot by pressing and holding power button help.
This problem is like https://discussions.apple.com/message/23515594 but this is different problem. And look like apple fix problem in discussion by link. But problem, described by me still active. Many peoples face with this problem and all we are waiting fix from apple.

P.S. Sorry my english, write better who can and i replace my text

Brand new OSX user here; long time Windows user.
I was ready for a new laptop, and thought maybe try a MacBook.  After MUCH humming and hawing, I decided to give it a try.  I thought dropping $1700 for a MacBook was a little much, but went with it anyway because everyone that uses one says: It's so good; never have issues; so fast and smooth; it just works perfectly.
Anyway, I went with the MacBook Pro 13" Retina, 256gb SSD, 8GB RAM (mid 2014 model; July refresh).  For the price I paid, I expected better; definitely not the trouble-free experience I was expecting.
YES, I often do get the system freezes.  The mouse would stop responding, the trackpad would do nothing; and the keyboard was unresponsive. It would freeze up for a bit, and then start working again.  Sometimes it was for a few seconds, sometimes a lot longer...minutes.  I had to do a hard shutdown just once (long-hold power button) because it remained in the non-responsive state and would not come back to life.  From all the reviews I've read about video editing, they all said it's pretty decent; and pretty smooth.  I've used iMovie to create a video, and it was definitely not smooth.  Very choppy; got the colour wheel spinning many, many times even though all pics and video clips were stored locally on the SSD.  It was quite frustrating.
I decided to search the freezing issue and found that many with the same system are having the same issue.  I'm starting to regret my purchase big time.
Hope it is a software issue and it will be fixed with Yosemite.  Fingers crossed.

  • Upgraded to Mavericks - System errors popping up in /private/var/tmp ... Help!!

    Hi there,
Ever since I upgraded to Mavericks, and installed my standard software, I'm getting some odd behaviour.
Every so often (no discernable pattern so far) my Finder pops up with a new window in /private/var/tmp.  There is a huge system stacktrace printed out in a file with the following format: "
    sysdiagnose_2013.10.30_19-53-16-MDT_9956.tar.gz
There are a ton of files in there, so I have no idea how to figure out what is crashing and causing it. I get no "system crash message" to go along with it.

  • Can I create an external boot drive for an updated Mac OS Maverick system?

I'm currently running Mac OS Snow Leopard (10.6.8) on my 24" iMac and would like to clone my current drive to an external drive & then update that external drive to Mac OS Maverick. First, can this be done to create an external Boot drive for my iMac System? Secondly, can I then select the internal system (OS 10.6.8) or the external drive Maverick OS system at boot time?

Probably will depend on just what your machine is - i.e. how current and fast is the internal hardware.
Generally though, the performance booting off a firewire 800 should be fine for most things with little if any system lag.  My late-2008 MBP ( 2.53Ghz core-2 duo, 8GB RAM) runs quite well when booted from a firewire 800 drive (7200rpm - even my 5400rpm portable clone is perfectly useable).
Just remember if using the external for a long or serious work session, if the power goes out, that external is not going to be powered off battery (I keep my full size external drives plugged into a UPS because of that).

  • Mac OSX Mavericks - System Hangs and Slowdowns

    Hey guys,
I'm new to these forums so apologies in advance:
Anyway: I updated to Mavericks a few weeks ago and I have been experiencing hangs and slowdowns across the system.
The beachball is very common for relatively mundane tasks and things just take a lot longer to complete.

    Any suggestions?

I've read in other forums that there are two issues that is causing this problem of chopping audio and freezing interfaces.  One has to do with USB 2.0 /USB 3.0 issues in OS.  The other seems to be an issue with the Fusion drive.
The fix for the fusion drive issue that has been shared online is to either:
Option #1.  Don't use the fusion drive and create an external boot drive clone (either SSD or standard HD) and use as your primary drive (completely surpassing the internal fusion drive).
Option #2.  Split the internal fusion drive.  From there you can use them as two separate logical drives.  Load your OS on one of the drives (SSD or HD).   http://www.macworld.com/article/2015664/how-to-split-up-a-fusion-drive.html
Before, you do any of the above, make sure that you backup your current system setup.
I just received my imac (2013) with 3TB fusion and I plan on trying option #1.  I bought a 3TB external USB drive which I plan to clone after I have the machine running.  Once I clone the internal drive, I will test how the machine runs from both the internal fusion and the external to prove if this addresses the audio clipping/stopping problem.  Hopefully, Apple will find a fix for this.
It is really a dissapointment that a brand new $2500+ machine and software was not tested to perform something that my 2008 MacBookPro and my home built Window XT machine (circa 2003) did without issue.  I wished that I would have checked the forums about these issues before I purchased the machine.
You can do some searches online and find even more detail discussions on this topic.
