Invisible Address Book in Communications Express

In an otherwise complete installation of Communications Express 6.3 , the Address Book tab is completely blank below the standard Communications Express bar . Changing the address book location references in personalstore.properties seems to make little difference . I don't know what log file I ought to check for this .

Corrupted Address Book in Outlook Express

My father's note running XP, has suddenly decided that the address book in outlook express (ie6)is corrupt and it must be re-installed. I have looked around the web and this seems to be a fairly common problem, however the correction of
this seems fairly complex, surely Microsoft must have come up with a quick fix to this problem, especially as it seems of their making, what with faulty updates and the complexity of outlook and outlook express.
Please does anyone have a simple resolution to this problem, that we both can understand.

Try to recover it manually. Or re-install your OE. Open Outlook Express from where the application is stored on your computer, then attempt to duplicate the error or problem you were previously experiencing. If

Can't import email or address book from Outlook Express

I mounted a hard drive from my old (DEAD) computer.
I tried to import my email files.
I pointed Thunderbird to the folder containing all of the Outlook Express *.dbx files
It shows no files and imports nothing.
I discovered after an hour that I could drag and drop my Dave.wab address book into the Windows Contacts file, where Win7 extracted the contacts. They could then be imported into Thunderbird.

i have read here there is no support for this.
but i searched google, and found what appears to be a nice tool from novell.

however - i need a little help figuring it out.
it includes an exe, a control file, and maybe some sort of data mapping file.
i have my csv of addresses, does anyone have experience with this tool?
can someone provide advice on the formatting sun's directory requires, and how to import it into a user's address book (so that the addresses would show-up using messenger express)?

ME is going away. CE is the future.
Yes, you can run CE/UWC without Calendar Server. The Calendar tab simply does not show up.
JES 5 is scheduled to make a rather major change. ME will be gone, and UWC will communicate via IMAP.....
This may slip to JES6, but that's the last map I heard about..........

does anyone know how to import address' from the outlook express address book to the iphone so it easier to email my picture to someone or is there a better way to send pictures that email on the iphone? I miss not being able to send pictures through text messages.

'Mail' and 'Address Book' not communicating

I have recently started using 'Mail' and 'Address Book'.
There is a problem: These programs don't seem to communicate. When I address an e-mail, the addressee is not auto-filled from 'Address Book'. Likewise, I can't select a name in 'Address Book' and e-mail to that person.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

In Address Book, what happens if you click the label (home, work ...) beside a contact's email address?
In Mail's Preferences/Composing have you selected "Automatically Complete Addresses"?

You have the Windows Contacts address book selected under the Info tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes?
If so, any error message provided when syncing?
The only way your address book from your mobile appeared is if you are syncing contacts over the air with an email account on your mobile that supports this and accessing the email account on your iPad.

Many thanks for this. This was very useful and a good starting point. I'm a very recently converted and proud new owner of one of the 20", 2GHz Intel Core Duo Imacs, and am in the process of converting all of my important files and data over from my home PC to my Mac.
So far all has gone well; sorting out my ITunes and Digital Photos was easy as pie, as was my documents, however my last hurdle to overcome is trying to transfer my emails from MS Outlook on my Home PC to my Mac Mail. I have tried your Thunderbird suggestion which seems to have me on the right track, but the outcome was that only 1 of the 130 emails in my Outlook Inbox were imported. I've also tried using installing Eudora on my Home PC and importing all my Outlook email to that, however each time I try that Eudora ends up crashing leaving me back at square one.
I will keep searching this discussion forum for other ideas, but in the meantime if you have any other helpful suggestion I'd be grateful!

Outlook Connector - Address book - Global Address List

Using Outlook Connector version 7.2.402.1 on both Outlook 2003 and 2007 I am having an issue when trying to view the Global Address List. The vertical scroll bar doesn't activate unless I resize my Address Book window. Even after that it doesn't work that well. It is very erratic.
I have set up a VLV index for the Address book as follows:

Doing a tail -f on the access log while using the Address Book I can see the VLV index being used. Is there something buggy with the Outlook Connector or is there something I missed in the VLV index?

Add new remote address book

I am trying to add a new ldap address book in communications express
Can somebody help me with a sample to start with this.
The below is a sun document explaining basic steps for reference:
Currently I have personal address book and corporate directory shown in the drop down list. When we select the corporate directory all users for that hosted domain is listed correctly. And in PAB all contacts entered in outlook contacts is listed. Now we want to add new book that will point the root of ldap to list all users accross all hosted domian.

Outlook Connector Address Book SSL

I followed the steps to get the Outlook connector to work with the address book and Convergence as described here:

That works well for non ssl connections.
It does not seem to work with SSL connections. When Outlook starts up, I get an error that it cannot connect the address book server.
The url that gets put into the outlook client for the address book is
https://server.domain.com:443/iwc/svc
https://server.domain.com:443 is grayed out. How can I get it ungrayed so that I can change the server and port without having to use re-install the outlook connector?

How can I setup Outlook in the BB Desktop Manager so I can use it synch my calendar and To Do's? I'm synching my address book from Outlook Express just fine. But the system isn't seeing Outlook. Why?

I am not sure you can sync to both, simultaneously.
In your Desktop Manager > Sync settings, do you see your Outlook as a choice?
