Invisible note nu00B01000889 "Negative cache"

Hi,
By reading SAP Notes n°1044872 and n°1135138, I remark that the solution of my "negative cache" problem is described in SAP Note n°1000889.
But while attempting to access it, I get the following error message :
Note 1000889
An SAP note with the number requested could not be found.
How can I access this note ?
Any idea would be appreciated

Most likely the solution in that note became irrelevant, so it was taken out of availability. Or it might be temporarily unavailable.
E.g.: SAP note # 1 still exists, but # 4 is not available

Custom LoginModule not found, error "Found in negative cache"

Hi all,
I am working with NetWeaver 2004s SR3 SP14 on SuSE 10 with Oracle. I am
writing a custom LoginModule and I get this error in the default trace file when my
sample app tries to use my login module:

The class name for my login module is: MyLoginModule and it is in library:
MyLoginModuleLibrary (so the name of the library project in Developer
Studio is MyLoginModuleLibrary and it is the component name in
server/provider.xml for that project). MyLoginModule requires the use of
classes in another library also written by my company (called
mycompany_libs). To complicate matters, mycompany_libs uses JNI. I tried
adding the JNI library directory to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH shell variable
(set before running startsap in the sidadm user's shell). Though I
could find few references to developing using JNI (so if someone out there
has references for using JNI with Netweaver, it would be great, and very
helpful if you would post them).
I was able to successfully deploy MyLoginModuleLibrary and mycompany_libs.
I put the following in the property: LoginModuleClassLoaders in the
security provider properties:
library:mycompany.com~MyLoginModuleLibrary,library:mycompany.com~mycompany_libs
(Note: I changed the provider name server/provider.xml to mycompany.com
for both libraries: MyLoginModuleLibrary and mycompany_libs and that is the
reason why I have the "mycompany.com~" prefix before each library name.)
I added mycompany_libs to the references in server/provider.xml for
MyLoginModuleLibrary. The references look good in the ClassLoader viewer.
But I still get this error. I've restarted the server several times to
try to clear the negative cache (using stopsap, then startsap), but to no
avail.
One thing that I find interesting (and it could be a possible clue to the
problem) is that neither library:mycompany.com~MyLoginModuleLibrary nor
library:mycomany.com~mycompany_libs appears in the ClassLoader name
or in the References in the error message in the log file. I don't know why not
(I would guess that both of these entries should be in the references and Class
loader name in the log file).
Any ideas?

I tried 2 tests:
(1) I kept all names the same, but removed all of the complexity from the login module. This new login module would just return true when login() is called and add the principal: "sillyuser at testing dot com" to the principal list when commit() is called.
(2) Just like the first test (i.e. a very simple login module that does no real authentication at all), except I changed the name of the library, the LoginModule class, and the jar file. The provider name was still mycompany.com. I corrected references in LoginModuleLibraryLoaders property in Security Provider.
Test (1) had the same error (ClassNotFoundException "Found in negative cache"), but test (2) worked! It was able to load my login module and I was able to see the trace entries in the log file.
So, I guess the problem is that the "negative cache" is not getting cleared. Anyone know how to clear it?

i found the solution, i found that the functions that i was calling (RFC) was not correctly transport to Production enviroment, thats way, the problem was only in production,
i made a new transport with all my function in abap and sent it again to production and that solve my problem that i have about the negative cache.

List of DNS Negative Cache

Hi Folks
I'm having problems with what I believe to be intermittent negative responses for a host from DNS servers that we forward external queries to and those negative responses being cached.
Because of the intermittent nature of the problem every time it is reported I have not been able to carry out a query on the downstream DNS servers that has not produced a positive result.
I would like to know if it is possible to see if negative responses for this specific host are being cached on our DNS servers.

You can possibly use DNSCMD, but I'm not sure if it will display negatively cached data. Have you tried using ipconfig /displaydns on the client to see what it negatively cached? And I'm not sure that will work. I can't reproduce the problem, since
none of my customers have this issue.
Keep in mind, [quoted from http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2308]:
"Negative caching was an optional part of the DNS specification and
   deals with the caching of the non-existence of an RRset [RFC2181] or
   domain name."
"[...] however had a fundamental flaw in that it did not allow a name
   server to hand out those cached responses to other resolvers [...]"
So my feeling is there are non-existing records in some of your DNS servers, or incorrect SOA records, or lame delegations. If your organization is that large, and DNS was not designed properly (all DNS servers in an org must have the same exact reference
to all records or issues will results, especially with AD), then I can see this may occur. So in reality, once you determined what data is negatively cached, the best way is to use DIG or nslookup testing directly against your forwarders for the records
that you believe are negative lookiong for NXDOMAIN responses (which are the records that have been negatively cached).
It may have been possible that Negative Caching was set on *some* of your Windows DNS servers, but not all. That will definitely cause problems. That's done by setting the
NegativeCacheTime to something really much higher than the default 300 seconds (15 minutes). If you are an admin and have access to those machines, you can take a look at that setting in the registry remotely.

Negative cache

Hi All,
When I execute aplication Web Dynpro in J2EE Engine the next message appears in the screen :
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: package.name.NameClass_T Found in negative cache----
Loader Info -
ClassLoader name:
The class name is NameClass, not NameClass_T but the engine search NameClass_T. This class name make reference a structure type of RFC model data.
Could somebody help me?

Cannot load login module , Found in negative cache?

I am trying out the SSO with Header Variable Login , by adding the UserId into the Header Variable.
I am able to login to the Portal as per the steps given in "HeaderVariableLoginModule" http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d0/a3d940c2653126e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
There is another extension of HeaderVariableLoginModule called the IPHeaderVariableLoginModule, which allows login only if the request comes from the specified IP address.
But after trying this i am getting the foll error :

How can I delete the contents in Cache.Trash folder (not the normal Cache folder)?

Recently, I keep receiving notice of "Hard Disk is Full - You have run out of disk space on drive C. To free space on this drive by deleting old or unnecessary files, click Disk Clean-up". But after I removed a substantial sizes of files to another drive, in a short while, the notice reappear again. I was puzzled and take a check on the files and folders in drive C and realized the problem came from those unknown files in the folder named Cache.Trash (not the normal Cache folder although they are located side by side). Some files sizes are shockingly large ranging from 2GB to 5GB. They have strange and difficult to identify File Name and File Types. When I checked the Properties of those files, they have unknown MS-DOS name, Created, Modified and Accessed dates. When I tried to delete those files directly, a notice of "Error Deleting File: Cannot delete file: File system error (1026)" appeared. Note: There are still many Free Space available in other disk drives. Any idea please?

There is no session crash here. On others start, the Cache.Trash folder and its contents still there. When a ScanDisk program is performed, after some time, a notice appeared, "ScanDisk has restarted 10 times because Windows or another program has been writing to this drive. Quitting some running programs may enable ScanDisk to finish sooner. Do you want to continue receiving this warning?" So I closed any other running application and program and restart the ScanDisk program again. After some time, the notice appeared again. I clicked No to indicate do not want to continue receiving this warning and the program keep repeating running.....how long will the program take?

Not working in collection: "is not" & "Digital Negative/Lossy compressed"

Hello guys,
I have a smart collection in LR4. The collection contains 200 pictures. I want to search inside the collection for all files which are NOT Lossy compressed (like raw, jpeg,dng lossless compressed etc). If I put as a rule the "is not" "Digital Negative/Lossy compressed" I will get all the files in the catalog. If I put as a rule the "is" "Digital Negative/Lossless" the result will be DNG/Lossless. The 1st rule seems not to be working. The same is for Fast load data, which seems for some files to be working and for some not. Anyone can explain it, or it is a bug?

Based on my tests, only users allowed to use specific applications are able to see those application on the Web Access page.
In my case, I published three remote application, and I only allowed Administrator to access one of them as below:
After that, I logged on as administrator to RD Web Access, only one application was showing:
I suggest you double check the user assignment on the application, make sure no other group is configured, then log off the user and log on to access RD Web Access again.

There was no set up of any hotfix or SP.
Something strange is that if I test the app with the "Web Dynpro Administrator console" the apps works fine, there's no class loading issue and there's no error, but if I test it at SAP Portal the error appears.

Credit notes wit negative lines

hi,
actually its not possible to add a credit note with negative lines. Its not possible in 2005A and not possible in 2007A.
We need this functionality.
For example there are invoices with positions like that
item 200 Euro
- special bonus 20 Euro (has to be added in line because this has to be booked on a special account)
The invoice is fine. But when the invoice sould we canceled by credit note there is no way to do this by credit note!
Another example is if the customer returns some items, the special bonus has to be returned too.
We need this functionality very urgent. Is there a way to get this feature????

How do you flush the negative cache?

I am working with NetWeaver 2004s SR3 SP14 on SuSE 10 with Oracle. I wrote a custom login module and was trying to get SAP to load it. At first I made some reference mistakes (in provider.xml under the references tab) and it wouldn't load. Then I fixed the reference errors and tried to get it to load again and it still wouldn't load. I just keep on getting the error message:

I shut down and restarted SAP several times (using stopsap and startsap) and undeploying and redeploying my login module (the fixed version), but still, SAP refuses to load my login module because it is in the "negative cache".
If I keep the code the same, but change the name of the Java class and component name in provider.xml, then SAP happily loads my login module.
So I can work around the issue, but it is really annoying to change your configuration every time you make a mistake with the references... So I was hoping that someone would know how to flush the negative cache. Do I have to go into the database to do it?

We are using the iplanet application server version 6.5 with iplanet directory server version 5.0 .
We are facing the problem in the restart of application server since we have deployed an application. Here is some log on the same. Any help or advise is appreciated.
When application server is running, we are finding it impossible to stop by using 'iascontrol stop' command. We are forced to use the command 'iascontrol kill'. Once it is stopped, when we try to start it, it gives the following messages in KJS logs.
