Invisible Scratch Drive in Creative Cloud

I just downloaded PS, ID, and Ilus for the Creative Cloud. I also have the CS6 versions. In my CS6 versions, I can see a particular drive that I've set as my primary scratch drive (I have four internal and two external drives); but I cannot see this same drive in the CC versions of PS, ID, Illus. Any suggestions are appreciated. I'm using OSX, Mountain Lion.

Very interesting, and first I've heard of this here on the forum, though I've certainly not read everything ever posted...
Is there plenty of free space on it?
One of the Adobe folks would have to weigh in on whether they've made changes to restrict scratch drive choices.

  • Creative Cloud application won't install in the right disk

    Hello,
I rencently downloaded Creative Cloud for Desktop and, when I'm trying to install Lightroom 5 to my secondary hard drive (D:), Creative Cloud ignores the setting and goes to the C: drive location (which is an almost full SSD).
Is there any way to force the download to my other drive as it seems CC don't care about its preferences?
OS : Windows 8 Pro x64 with Media Center

Jeff, OK, I'll reinstall - it'll probably have to wait till next month, because of my bandwidth allowance, but I can live with that.
Regarding the other error, I didn't give enough information, sorry: after I installed InDesign and PS, I started them up and got a prompt from the CC app to fill in some details on the Adobe website. So I filled them in and got that error, no matter what I tried. If I clicked "Use the above address", it returned to the page with the form anyway.
Edited to add: I logged in again this morning and found the "My Information" page on the Adobe website -  it's not complaining about the address now. I don't know if it means the problem went away or it's a different page (it looks different), but everything seems to be working at the moment.

  • Creative Cloud icon missing from menu bar of my Mac.

I got a message saying there was an update, and when I clicked it the icon went away. When I open the app manually it hovers on the menu bar, greyed out, then disappears.

Same here. Got it up and running again by finding the app in the adobe creative cloud folder on my hard drive // acc // creative cloud. Double click.

  • HFS File system with case sensitive is not accepted to install creative cloud? Is there any other way but install the whole MacOS again after formatting the drive. I cannot belief that Adobe is so bad to it's Mac customers..

After many hours setting up OS10.10 from he scratch the last step should be installing m Adobe apps again.
trying this I always get the error message that creative cloud does not accept case sensitive file systems and I shall use another drive.
This means I have to set up the whole machine again after formatting without case sensitive but then having copy problems with my NAS?
I cannot belief that Adobe is really demanding this. If so this would show how urgent this market need alternatives and some more competition...

  • Can Creative Cloud apps be installed on a non-boot drive?

Can Creative Cloud apps be installed on a non-boot drive? If so, how? I want to install on a different drive on my current system because my boot drive (an SSD) is rather full.

Since I have an SSD drive with rather limited capacty, I did this, and it sort of worked. The Creative Cloud did not give me an option of where to install it. As soon as it installed, I did as instructed above and changed the default. However, Photoshop started installing immediately after I installed the Creative Cloud and did not ask if I wanted to install it. However, it installed correctly in the drive I stipulated in preferences. Photoshop did not install a shortcut onto my desktop, but I had to create one manually.
I noticed that certain items still installed on my SSD. There is an Adobe folder under Programs on the C drive, and there is also an Adobe folder in my SSD under Users.
The only other place I discovered to direct files is in the Photoshop preferences for where to store my scratch files.

  • How to install Creative Cloud on any drive other than my System drive...

You are now chatting with 'Bhagawan'
Bhagawan: Hello. Welcome to Adobe Technical Support.
    Bhagawan: Hi Steve
Steve: It appears CC installs on my system drive without asking me. The way I manage my system - this is not acceptable. So, how do I install on the drive I install all my other apps?
Bhagawan: I understand that you want to install Creative Cloud desktop app. Am I correct?
Steve: On a particular drive - not my system drive.
    Steve: CC, Photoshop, etc.
Bhagawan: I will be glad to check and help you with this issue.
Bhagawan: Steve, creative cloud desktop app can be install only on C drive, but other apps you select for other drive.
Steve: My C: drive is dedicated to my OS only.
Steve: It is a special drive that will not work for very long if software companies put their programs on it till it fills up and then everything stops.
Steve: Didn't Adobe think of this?
Steve: I have one computer that only has a few MBs left of C:. What do I do on that computer?
    Steve: "left on C:"
    Bhagawan: Give me a minute.
    Bhagawan: Thank you.
Bhagawan: Steve, I'm really sorry, creative cloud desktop app will be installed on C Drive, since the operating system is installed, but other Creative Cloud apps can be installed other Drive and depends on file size.

I had the same problem and finally solved it.
It is "funny" that CC doesn't ask you where to install apps. Or better to say, it asks you but doesn't care. In Creative Cloud desktop app/Preferences there is option to choose where you want apps to be installed, but they are still installed in C:/Program Files/....
How to install apps on secondary drive in just 3 steps:
    1. Go to page Adobe CC 2014 Direct Download Links – Creative Cloud 2014 Release | ProDesignTools and download all apps that you will need.
    2. Once downloaded, install it. During installation you will be asked where you want app to be installed (just like in any other "normal" installation)
    3. Be happy
    Hope I helped

I have to reformat my hard drive and reinstall all of my programs. What do I do about Creative Cloud? I also still need access to CS6 (I have a Marksware converter for InDesign to Quark).
This is a MacBook Pro 15" (Model number A1286) running Mavericks. Hard drive is fine but system software has been corrupted. I cannot simply restore from Time Machine as it will copy the corrupt system.
Will I have to find all of my serial numbers before I can launch any of the programs?
    Thanks

  • Creative Cloud Crashes When I Plug In a USB Drive

My problem is that Adobe Creative Cloud application crashes every time I plug in a USB drive.  My computer is Windows 7 64-bit.  A brief history:
    1.  I signed up for Creative Cloud and started to download and install the Creative Cloud desktop application (an upgrade to the Application Manager).  The installation failed.  I tried it again and the installation failed again.
    2.  Contacted Adobe Tech Support via live chat where the tech took over my computer and did so many things I couldn’t follow what he was doing.  He finally got the Creative Cloud desktop application to install successfully.  At least we thought so at the time.
    3.  I was then able to download Photoshop CC and Bridge CC and begin using the applications.
    4.  A day or two later I discovered the Creative Cloud application (not Photoshop or Bridge) crashes every time I plug in a USB drive.
    5.  Since then I’ve had two more chat sessions with Adobe tech support where they had me rename some folders to OOBEold and uninstall and reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop application.  The last time they had me download and try to run a Creative Cloud Cleaner, but it couldn’t find the Creative Cloud application so we couldn’t run the cleaner.  These reinstallations were unproductive as Creative Cloud still crashes when I plug in a USB drive.  It doesn’t matter if I use the USB ports on the front or the back of the computer.
Has anyone else experienced this particular issue with Creative Cloud and, if so, were you able to solve the problem?
Is there a graceful way to close the Creative Cloud application instead of using the Task Manager to end the process before I plug in a USB drive?  There is a drop-down menu by a gear icon in the upper right of the application window that has Preferences and Quit Creative Cloud as two of the options.  What does the option “Quit Creative Cloud” actually mean?  Are you just closing the application or are you doing something more serious?  Under preferences there is an option that is selected by default to Launch at login.  What does “Launch at login” mean?  Does it mean when the computer starts up or when you actually go to Adobe and login to your account or something else?
Thank you very much for any suggestions.

    Dave,
Thanks for your reply.  After four very lengthy tech support chat sessions, the last tech support person (30 July, 2013) suggested that it was probably some sort of conflict with the drivers for the USB ports on my Dell computer.  The case number you requested is still open and is:  0184509373.
I spent a lot of time during the last tech chat trying to determine a graceful way to quit the application before using any USB devices.  Just clicking on the X to close the window does not close the application as it still shows up as an active process in Windows Task Manager.  Our conversation kept getting confused between the Creative Cloud application and the more global Creative Cloud and which you were quitting or logging out of.  Adobe should have kept the name “Application Manager” for the application.
After experimenting, I’ve devised the following work around.  It’s a nuisance, but it seems to work a little better than just crashing the application.  I open the Creative Cloud desktop application and choose “Quit Creative Cloud.”  I can then use a USB device without a crash.  After disconnecting the USB device, I restart the Creative Cloud application by double clicking on the icon on my desktop.  Finally, I can use Photoshop CC and Bridge.  If I don’t restart the Creative Cloud application first, Photoshop asks me to register the software again.  This puzzles me as I didn’t think the Creative Cloud application had to be running in order to use Photoshop.
Thanks for your attention and assistance.
    Charles

  • I installed on my computer the other SSD hard drive, and now'd like to install Photoshop and Lightroom that station and I do not the C drive. How do I get exchanged the installation location when using your Creative Cloud in your program.

Photoshop is installed on your C partition and how to get it installed on another partition now!

Heinonen Petri you can customize the installation location within the preferences for the Creative Cloud desktop application.  Please be aware that the Creative Cloud desktop application and many shared components will always need to be installed to the primary drive containing the operating system.
For additional details on how to customize the installation location please see Creative Cloud Help | Download, install, update, or uninstall apps.

  • Creative Cloud app detecting installation of LR on old drive

Recently upgraded my Macbook with a SSD drive (MainDrive) and did a fresh install of 10.9.4 (Mavericks).  In the process I moved my old HDD (now SecondaryDrive) to the optical drive.  This drive had LR 5 installed but I would prefer a new installation of my new drive.  The Creative Cloud app seems to detect Lightroom on the old drive and simply states it is 'up to date'.   What is odd, is it did not detect the installation CS5 on the old, now secondary drive.
Without touching my old installation or drive, how can I get the cloud app to simply install a fresh copy of LR on my now main SSD drive?  Is there a way to tell the app to only scan the OS drive?
I have tried a few tips such as removing the opm.db file without success.  I moved the LR app out of Applications on the SecondaryDrive to the trash, restarted the Creative Cloud app and LR is still found.
I do not want to boot into the other drive and uninstall LR, I feel I really shouldn't have to.  Any suggestions?

Just saw the status of LR move from installed to not installed.  I was simply in the settings pane of the Cloud app.  Very odd.
