Invisible text in graphics

When I copy-paste text into Animate graphics, I can't see the actual text until I double-click on the text box ... then I can see the text in editing mode. Anyone else had this problem?

Invisible text in Flash enabled web pages is a frustrating problem that is affecting Mac Users who play Farm Town (8.5+ million people on FaceBook) and probably many other games too.  See this forum as an example of the problem:  http://slashkey.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2531318
Before even reading this forum I did everything that appears here with no success and then everything listed in the referenced forum (above) with no success... but the following did fix the invisible text problem and I hope that it will help others too.
1.  Drag the Font folder from the User directory to the trash  ie. ~/Library/Fonts.  (where ~ is = your User Account Name.)
Be careful; this is NOT the Font folder in the main library.
2. Download Font Finagler v1.5 beta for Mac OS 6, and clean the font cashe files following the instructions for this free shareware app.
        http://homepage.mac.com/mdouma46/fontfinagler/
3. Open the Font Book app which is a new app that is included with the Mac OS Snow Leopard (10.6). (Font Book is in the Applications folder.) Read the Help info for this app and then: Choose "All Fonts" in the left column and then choose "Select Duplicate Fonts" from the Edit menu. Disable or delete all duplicate fonts that this process identifies. After dealing with the duplicate fonts, select "All Fonts" again in the left column and choose "Validate Fonts" from the File Menu.  Deal with the results that it will display using the help file for guidance.  Interestingly, in my case there were no corrupt fonts in my Mac system, but the validation process identified more duplicate fonts that the previous step did not find. Again deal with the findings and disable or delete the duplicate fonts.
4. Reboot your Mac and get on with using your Flash enabled web pages.  Duplicate fonts seems to be the problem that cause invisible text in Flash enabled web pages.
Hope this helps you... it worked for me.

  • Is it possible to do a GLOBAL color change for both text and graphics in ACrobat XI?

I used to do this using the Pitstop Pro plugin but now Pitstop is almost $900 and this is the only thing that I would use it for, not worth the investment
I can change text color by selecting individual text items, but I want to change all of the red text into white text
I also need to change all of the red graphics into white graphics and I can't figure out how to do that either
I have a trial version of XI on a Mac and will buy it if it can do what I am trying to do, i.e. global color changes to both text and graphics
    thanks!!

I have version 6, but it is way out of date, doesn't work on my current system, I downloaded a trial version of the new one, version 12 I think, now I have to decide if I can afford to buy it, it is not cheap!
oops, sorry, I didn't read your entire message, aargh!
I'll check with them if I can upgrade from this early version, thanks for the suggestion!

  • Automatically adding alt text to graphics

Here is a pie-in-the-sky project that is way beyond my abilities. Anyone up for that challenge will have my (and probably other's) endless gratitude.
I would like a script that creates an "alt text" for graphics based on the text of its caption in the document.
The structure would be something along the lines of:
    1. Enumerating each anchored frame that contains a graphic
         a. Testing to see if a specific paragraph style follows the anchored frame
         b. If exists, selecting the text of that specific paragraph style
         c. Setting the "Alternate" object property of the anchored frame
So after most graphics we have a caption using a "Figure Title" paragraph style. The script should create the text like: "This image is a screen shot of " + figTitle. Then populate the Alternate field of the Object Attributes dialog box of the Object Properties of the anchored frame.

    Milo--
While I'm not volunteering to write the script, I would encourage you to tackle it yourself. It is hardly a pie-in-the-sky project, and if you have any desire to expand your abilities, this would be a worthwhile exercise.
You've already taken the first step by outlining the basic structure.
There are several threads you might find useful in putting it all together

  • Invisible text in acrobat forms

For a number of years and a number of different versions of Acrobat we have noted that a form filled out across platforms may not show the filled in text unless it is highlighted.  I've searched Google and the Adobe site and found a number of discussions on this and some "fixes".
We've been dealing with this for a number of years and have noted that the issue is with the default text color, black.  If you actually chose any other color (we usually use dark blue) when creating the fields the text will appear on all platforms and almost all viewers.  You can also "fix" filled out forms that have the invisible ink issue by using the advanced editing tools to highlight a field and then select all and then adjust properties to change the text color to anything but black (or white).
We have noted a correlation in the issue seeming to be when the form was created on one platform and then filled out on the other, aka Mac created but Windows filled out or vice versa. Ocassionally it will show up within a family (aka Windows) but where the base OS (XP vrs 7) or version of Acrobat (7 vrs X) is different from the one that originated the form.
Is there some other global setting that needs to be or possible can be adjusted to fix this?

  • Pixelated text and graphics in MacBook Pro Retina

Why are text and graphics in pixelated in Numbers and iBooks applications, to name two, on the MacBook Pro Retina? All updates have been downloaded.

Clinton- The problem is that the way things are setup is a bit confusing. Apple doesn't let us use the actual full resolution of 2880 x 1800, in relateive size. There is a hack to see the screen at full native resolution, and it's unbelievably small. So what they do is use the pixels, but use 4 vs 1, and thus they make the UI look like it would look as standard 1440 x 900 display. I have an old 15" and looking at both, the UI is the same relative size on the screen. However the retina is using more pixels to make the same physical size.
Now, Apple also lets apps use 1:1 within their "working area." For instance, if you view a graphic on a web page, it shows it doubled, and pixelated. But if you drag that image to the desktop then open in Preview, preview will show it half size of Safari, but in actual resolution. it's sharp, but half the size of Safari, as Safari is doubling it. So apps can take advantage of that but will have to be updated. Pixelmator isn't updated, and graphics/text/vectors are blurry in their work area, but once you save/export, and view in preview, they are perfect.
So there is going to be a lot of strange stuff going on until everyone gets on the same page.
I did find you can view Pages/Numbers with better resolution (just not icons) by right-clicking "get info" and unchecking open in low resolution. But Pages acts weird. I will post a screenshot in a minute about what I mentioend about apps using the native resolution within work spaces.

  • Why won't text and graphics line up in adobe premiere?

Hey, I have been out of the editing thing for about 8 years now. I recently needed to make a video for another business I run.
Anway, I am using animated / still graphics and the basic text titles that come with premiere. I see that the graphics line up correctly behind the text in the Previews Folder. When I render it, the text has shifted down completely. Also, the text and graphics look horrible after it's rendered, very pixelated. I used to be a pro at this stuff and in fact, I would use flash to import my animated graphics. But it seems that doesn't work anymore either. (That would probably solve this problem too). Anyone know why this is taking place in the final render??
I would much rather you ask the questions before i post all sorts of unnecessary info.
    Premiere Pro 1.5.1
    Thanks!

    1. not sure what you mean by "preset". The project settings are:
    General -
    Capture - DV 1394 -
    Video Sequence -
    Default Sequence -
    2. The dimensions of the stills are 2000x2000, *.png
3.Titles - I do not align them here, I align them in the effects controls
    4. Screen Cap
    5. Export settings
    6. That article is nice, but not what I'm needing. remember, the preview clips shows everything perfectly lined up. but the final export shows all the text being shifted down.
Thanks for the reply, I look forward to a response and I hope these answer your questions.

  • HTML Code query - does iweb turn my text to graphics?

    Hello
I'm a bit of a novice but thanks to iWeb I've been able to build myself quite a competent commercial website. As the company is growing I'm suffering from the problem of not being able to edit the code until the site is published - as I have a shopping cart on the site there is a lot of code to input every time I want to make a small change. Also, because I am trying to optimise my profile in the search engines I have to add a lot of title and description words at the front end of every page after it's published. Because of this I decided to import the site into Dreamweaver and see if I could edit the code there. As a result I noticed that the imported iWeb pages showed my text boxes as a graphic and I couldn't click on the text and edit. This got me worrying that search engines too were seeing all my carefully worded text as graphics instead of words which in my understanding would hinder the site slightly when it comes to SEO. I found Dreamweaver slightly exceeded my capabilities - for now - so I am left inputting HTML as before but I am very worried about this graphics issue - does anyone know if this is the case?
    Thank you in advance

Thank you - I'm not an expert either and thank you for your suggestion. I have looked at the source as you say but the code at the front of the main text panels says . . .
    <img usemap="#map3" id="shapeimage_11" src="Boys%203-5%20years%20files/shapeimage11.png"
and .png is a graphic isn't it?
Very confused and my knowledge of Dreamweaver is so limited that I wouldn't know why it would translate the text into a graphic panel if it isn't.
Please help - I don't want to work on my seo so hard if it's a fruitless task

  • Invisible Text in Flash Player Using Windows XP

I seem to have a problem with the Flash Player and invisible text. The Flash Player will load but there will be some buttons that are not labeled with text, so you don’t know what the buttons are, fill-in text boxes that have no text or text description, so you don’t know what to type in them, and drop-down lists that are blank, but there is supposed to be text to select from.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling FireFox, that did nothing; unistalled the Shockwave Flash Plug-in and reinstalled it, that did nothing; unistalled Flash and Shockwave standalone Players entirely, leaving only the Plug-in, nothing; uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player standalone, nothing there either. I cannot seem to find a solution and every browser I have, the same problem occurs – invisible text.
I was reading on the Adobe Forum that there is this same issue sometimes with Mac and that the problem seems to be font incompatibility.
This happens with any browser I use – Firefox, Flock, PaleMoon, IE, Opera, Netscape.
My OS is Windows XP Home Edition
Main browser is FireFox version 3.6.17
Shockwave Flash Plug-in version is 10.3.183.7
I also have the Shockwave Player standalone version 11.6.1.629
Has anyone, using Windows, had this same problem? Is there any solution?
    Thanks for any advice.

  • Invisible text in Google Chromes Icloud Webmail

Suddenly I can ONLY see the text in some of my emails in my Iphones icloud-mail or if I use Explorer (webmail).
If I check it out on Iclouds WEBMAIL (Chrome) the message looks empty/blank?
Only from certain users though (to make it more complicated).
Started last week, and it doesnt matter which computer I use, (I've tried it on pc:s with different operating systems, bit not on a mac:s webmail, so far) but seems to work in other webreaders (explorer) but not google chrome and Firefox.

  • Copy and paste text and graphics between Flash and Illustrator

When copying text in Illustrator and pasting them to Flash, some text would become drawing objects and some remain text. A drawing object is not editable. If I import the AI file, then text remains text but the placement of graphics can be a little bit off sometimes.
It's just not possible to copy-and-paste text and graphics from Flash to Illustrator.
Is it just me? If not, when will Adobe have better integration between the 2?
    Thanks,

Even though you can change your InDesign preferences for Clipboard Handling to allow formatted information to be pasted into InDesign from other programs, unfortunately Illustrator still won't allow you paste in text with formatting. This is due to how Illustrator and InDesign handle text differently. Even if you copy the text from Illustrator and paste it into a program like Word, which has a lot of different ways to handle formatted text, Illustrator just treats text differently than other Adobe applications.

They're called overlays for a reason. You'll need to change the text to an MSO as well.
Select it, create a new MSO, set it to play once no delay, no crossfade.
Other choice would be to put the text into each state of the MSO.

  • Preflight check for invisible text?

    Hello!
While there is an indicator for overset text in Indesign preflight, is it also possible to check for "invisible" text?
This will give a warning if objects, e.g. a picture or colored box, are placed over text (witout text wrap).
    Have a nice day
    Maggern

I suppose I shouldn't say that, since so many things actually are possible via scripting. I'd ask over in the ID scripting forum (InDesign Scripting). Seems like one approach might be to look for objects that fall within the geometric bounds of a text frame.

  • Text to Graphic

Does iWeb 2.0 also have this weird bug where iWeb randomly transforms text into graphics and then posts it?
It is very annoying and I would happily pay for the upgrade to get rid of the bug (since Apple apparently never bothered to fix it for free).

Besides drop shadows, if any object touched or overlaps a text box it will be converted. Don't use smart quotes or non web fonts (although I've seen some non-web fonts work OK). Here's are some other tips I've gathered from this forum on how to avoid converting text or images to png files.
1 - do not use and frames or borders, etc. around photos.
    2 - don't use any reflections.
3 - use only the web safe fonts from the Font pane.
4 - do not use drop shadow on fonts.
5 - turn off smart quotes
6- if you add a jpg to a page don't resize it in iWeb as that will cause it to be converted to png. Resize it to what you need before adding to the page..
The above will reduce the number and size of files associated with a web page quite a bit. Photos with fancy frames and reflections can generate a thumbnail png of around 110KB whereas the plain version will be a jpg of only 28KB. Although it doesn't sound like a lot, it will speed up loading of the page and be more darkside (i.e. PC) friendly. But you'll lose some of iWeb's features in producing a fancy site.
Run a test with a test site and publish to a folder. Then follow the hints above and publish to another folder and compare folders.

  • Mac osx lion screen texts and graphics jitter/flicker during scrolling

    Hello,
I have recently upgrade my macbook (late 2008, the only aluminum Macbook model) to OSX Lion, and the screen scrolling is causing fatigue to my eyes as the texts and graphics jitter/flicker even at the slowest scrolling speed setting. This problem causes serious discomfort to reading long text on the screen that requires scrolling.
Have anyone experienced this problem? Is there away to make the text scroll smoothly without jitters?
