Invisishield vs Ghost armor

For those who have used either of the two before which would you go with for the iphone 4. My father has invisishield and it seems to do its job really well. Have read some good reviews on ghost armor as well but have no first hand expierience.
Also I know they sell invisishield at best buy and I have read things online that say ghost shield is there as well but its not on best buys website. My question is can I only purchase the ghost armor from the website or is there a retail store that carries it?

I went with Zagg the invisishield and it was easy to put on and looks great and does the job, it protects the iphone really well and you
don't lose the look of the phone

  • How easy is Ghost Armor or Zagg to install without getting liquid IN the phone?

I am looking at getting the ghost armor for my iPhone (en route from China) and I am a bit nervous about putting on the front piece using a liquid activator. I am worried about getting liquid in the "ear hole". The only liquid that my iPod Touch has seen is a bit of rubbing alcohol to clean the screen with (works great -evaporates fast) every couple of weeks.
Anyway, can anyone tell me how easy, or hard, it is to install ghost armor or invisishield yourself? I saw invisishield has a booth at a local mall, but I just don't trust them with my phone and liquid - that is why I am considering doing it myself.

It is very simple to put on and the amount of liquid you use is very minimal and it is also a very fine mist.  Its not like your soaking your device or leaving it sit in a liquid.  I have put it on 8 different iPod touches, 3 droid phone and 4 blackberries with absolutely no problems.  I would highly suggest it.  Someone else said it is gummy---completely wrong!!  When you take it off you can't even tell that anything was ever there and I know this because a sharpie marker opened in my bag and got green ink ALL OVER my iPod touch(among a few other things), I just peeled off the invisible shield tossed it in the trash and purchased another one to put on.  Had it not been for that protection my iPod would of been destroyed.  Honestly they make this stuff idiot proof and there is no reason to be scared.  Very simple installation and I highly doubt Apple would sell it if it was going to damage the electronic upon installation.  In my opinion the things that can happen to it without it on are MUCH GREATER, one small drop and you have a cracked screen with this stuff I don't worry.

  • Should I put ghost Armor full body skin on my mac?

I just bought a MacBook pro 13 inch last weekend and even though it looks tough to scratch i would like to have some protection on it. So, I was considering ghost armor full body that would cover everything except screen and keyboard. Would that make my mac heat up fast?

The MBP case is definitely not tough to scratch — scratching it is easy. The hard anodized surface is extremely thin, and the underlying aluminum is a soft metal.
Nevertheless, I don't recommend using a skin or shell on it if you will run any highly processor-intensive software on a regular basis, because a certain amount of heat is dissipated by convection and radiation through the lower case. That heat loss would be inhibited by a skin. Probably not an issue as long as your usage is light, but if you're a gamer or you do a lot of video encoding, leave your machine naked.

  • Trying to decide about a case or getting Ghost Armor on back with Apple screen cover for new ipad.

I got a new ipad on Friday and now I am trying to decide whether to get a case or get Ghost Armor on the back with a Smart Cover for the front. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am loving my ghost armor. In addition to a plain clear look, you can pick a color for the back of your iPad

  • Difference between InvisibleShield, Ghost Armor, Clear Shield

They all say that each was originally used to "used to protect the leading edges of military helicopter blades from wear and tear" or protect helicopter blades in Desert Storm from sand or something. Why are there different companies making the same exact product? I'm a bit confused on this (apparently theres some minor difference between Invisible Shield and Ghost Armor.. apparently Ghost armor's a little better)

Let me tell you why you DO need a screen protector.
I had a Dell AXIM for 2-3 years. Used it with an awesome screen protector (i can't remember the name, it's a static cling, washable, reusable film). I had it on the device from day one. I didn't smudge and I never had any problems until the day I dropped the device face first on a pebble getting out of my car. The protector had a dent and I thought the screen has a chip. I peeled the film of to reveal an immaculate screen without any scratches.
Now, on the other hand, I have an expensive watch with a scratch resistant glass. I dropped that by mistake and it his something on the concrete and I had a very expensive dot on its face. Now, I don't expect anyone to use a screen protector on a watch but if $10 will maintain an immaculate screen i think it's worth it.
Now, If I just could find the same screen protector I had on my AXIM I would buy it in an instant. It was smudge resistant too. I'm on my 4th cheap film and they either smudge or they are sticky.

  • Can ghost armor damage my phone?

I had ghost armor put on my phone yesterday and today my phone battery went dead and when I charged it back up my screen quit working. My screen is now totally unresponsive. I was in the middle of typing an email when it died so am wondering of that could have had anything to do with it? 3
Just wondering if anyone has had issues with phones having hardware issues after ghost armoring it? Two weeks ago my blue tooth quit working after having it ghost armored so I'm wondering what's the deal? Four weeks ago my phone lost the ability to connect to my cell phone provider after doing the latest update. I'm on my second new phone in the last month and now it looks like I'm heading toward my 3rd. I did all the reset stuff and still doesn't work. i have a ton of apps on my phone. Could that be messing things up? I'm just sick of getting new phones and spending my evenings at the apple store.
    Thanks,
    Jason

Just 1 more thing can it drain your battery. Ive just recently been given a case & i just wanted to make sure before i use it. Thankyou.

  • Ghost Armor vs. Invisible Shield

Searched for this already but no one here has mentioned much about Ghost Armor on their 3G's. Did a google search and a lot of people said Ghost Armor was good.. but that's what they said about IS and I was ****** off about invisible shield's kinks (like the edges not fully sticking for the back piece, and the thin multicolored lines on the front which are not covered under the IS warranty)
    Anyone have opinions?

ok, i'm still trying to get my photos of my comparison on my pc and then to my picasa act, in the mean time here are some phtots I have found

  • Will Apple Care covers if I have Ghost Armor on my iPad screen?

I just got the new iPad and then the next day have those guys in the mall from Ghort Armor to fully have screen protector for my iPad. Will apple care/warranty mind if I have it on, in case my ipad needs repair/replacement? Thanks

You'd need to remove the screen protector before you send/take the iPad to Apple, but as long as the cover doesn't make any permanent modifications to the iPad, it won't have any negative warranty impact.
    Regards.

  • Iphone 4 case scratch...

Hey guys I have been hearing stories from people that iphone 4 cases leave scratches on the exterior of the phone. I am thinking of buying a case because this would protect my phone in case I drop it. However, I am faced with this dilemma of whether I should because I dont wana scratch the phone either. What do you guys think about this? Do you guys have any suggestions on which case to get (like the rubber ones or the hard plastic ones) in order to prevent scratching?

I ordered ghost armor ( www.ghost-armor.com ). They have it available for Verizon iPhones. I ordered the full body case one. So the phone'll be protected even under the case. It's stronger and more resistant than InvisiShield.
    Also, here's a 10% discount promo code: GA4LAUP
    ;D
Other than that, I'm getting the Waddler Case (it looks like a penguin!) from www.case-mate.com . They're the only site I found (beyond Verizon and Apple) that actually have Verizon iPhone cases available. And they've got quite a variety too! Yay! =D

  • Should I use a Screen Protector with Otterbox Defender or Griffin Survivor?

I bought both of these rugged cases and keep hearing that the actual cases can scratch the phones.  Should I use a screen protector on the phone face and back as well?  I assume that may not fit in the cases if I do that.  Anyone have any experience with these cases?

I have the Ghost Armor (same as ZAGG's invisibleSHIELD) installed on my Iphone and my otterbox defender will be here today (anytime) I will let you know how it goes or how it fit as soon as my defender get delivered by FedEx.
Do you have the shield on the front and back?  I read they do not fit in the Otterbox with both.  I would bet one side may fit.  I think if you use a thin one like the Verizon site has (PureGear Display Protectors) on the front I bet it will fit.  I have the Survivor case and have not head a chance to try the shield with it.  I got the phone, and first threw it in that case.  I know what to get a shield on it if possible.  Please let me know if it fits.

  • Is there a case that covers the more of the iPhone 4, unlike the bumper?

Okay, so this is a slightly dumb question, but is there a case (or will there be a case) available that covers more of the iPhone 4, similar to the cases for the iPhone, the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS? I get that the bumper helps with the antenna band but it doesn't really do anything to protect the back or the screen from damage, does it?

You can figure out how to get to the apple support discussion communities but can't figure out how to use google to locate a case?
There are a bunch out there already. Zagg, ghost armor, switcheasy, ifrogz, etc...
Currently have a two peice ifrogz on my ip4 now but probably switching to a switcheasy when the nude ultra clear is available since I want something low profile. 99% my phone is the only thing in the pocket it is in so I don't want something bulky.
As for the bumper case. IMO it *****. have to take it off I think to use your sync cable or if you are going to use a dock of some type. Plus doesn't cover the back or anything. Definitely not a fan of the bumper at all. I would have thought apple would have come out with something better than that.

  • Is there a class that covers the GSS 4490?

I've seen some pretty-good documentation on CCO, but nothing beets a class if one is available for fast ramp-up time. Is there a class the the Cisco GSS that anybody knows of?
    Thanks!

  • Something's wrong with the screen.

Can you see the dark areas on the right side of the screen? What do you think they are? Should I replace it? It bothers me a lot.

I've noticed this on my screen as well, but I also have faint white lines going down the screen.  I'm wondering if this is from the cover and/or screen protector.  The lines are in exact spot where the space between the magnets are on the cover.  I have the Ghost Armor screen and the Joy Factory Connect the Dots cover.  It has black interior....might be rubbing off onto screen?  I don't like it either....what kind of cover and or screen protector do you have?  Let me know if you go to Genius Bar (and what they say).  Thanks!

  • Which case WON'T peel off my GhostArmor screen protector!?

I know there's a lot of discussion about this already, but I was wondering if anyone has advice on which free case to go with that hopefully will NOT peel off the corners of my Ghost Armor full body protector. I have tried NUMEROUS silicone cases so far, off-brands i can't remember, but from Best Buy. They all have peeled the corners off my front & back protectors!!! SO annoying since the Ghost Armor cost me about $35. I can easily replace each side for only $5 but I want to do that after I finally settle on a case. I've been going without a case, just the Ghost Armor, and have fallen in love with the sleekness of it.
HOWEVER i did drop my phone already and actually chipped the corner a little. Not a biggie, i'm prone to doing that kind of stuff.
I like the look of the Griffin Motif Diamonds/Smoke. I previously owned a case like this i bought from Apple in June for my 3Gs, and it's edges were so smooth, not sharp, that my screen protector never peeled. My old diamond case had smaller diamonds so it "sparkled" more, not like these big huge obvious diamonds. Leaning toward this one since I liked my old one so much, but it wasn't a Griffin. I have bought a pink silicone diamond case from best buy, and it was soooo hard and it peeled the edges right back. Also left an indent/impression of the diamond designs on the back protector. eeew.
Also looking at the bumper, but bummed because it's only in black - then i'd have a super plain black phone. However, all i seem to need is something rubber around the edges when i drop it! LOL
The Speck fabric/hard case is cool, but it looks a little too bulky.
The Incase snap cases are neat looking also- and i'm thinking the snap design would be easier on protectors....?? But they're just a tad boring.
Decisions, decisions....Any advice or thoughts are much appreciated!

I didn't like the anti-glare one I bought from ebay, took the beauty from the screen. So I had ZAGG put on, at best buy. I was told to wait 24 hrs before putting the gel case back on and so I did... I put it back on perfectly and guess what? Within like 10 mins the corners started to get bubbles. I was so mad! Ugh so I returned it and got a refund but minus the $7.99 best buy charges to put on the protector. I was ripped off and lied to! I would like to know also which screen protector will stand a case on? I never had problems with the regular clear ones that r like a sticker.. I just wanted extra protection for my iphone 4.

  • Uh oh, I have a scratch! Gah!

Ok so i one day i was like, i feel like polishing my brand new, beautiful ipad to make it shiny, so i looked at the screen, it was absolutely flawless, then i polished it with the microfiber cloth that came with my macbook which ive had for a while. After i polished the screen, i realised that it had a scratch, so what i think is maybe there was a piece of dust or some sort of garbage on my microfiber cloth that scratched my ipad screen. Now, its about an inch long, if i feel it with my finger, i cant feel it at all, if i use my fingernail, i can sort of feel it, but only with my fingernail, its definately a thicker scratch than the ones you get from cleaning glasses with paper towel, its not a surface scratch, its from a piece of something on the cloth that was pushed into the screen as i moved it around, anyway, is there any way i can buff it out or anything? If i put ghost armor or zagg or something on it, would it basically make the scratch invisible? Any advice would be amazing, but i just cant deal with this scratch, it hauntes me in my sleep haha!

I'm sure it's already occurred to you that had you had a ZAGG or equivalent skin on then you wouldn't now have a scratch. Go ahead and put one on and I think you'll find the scratch much less noticeable.
You should attempt no repairs on your own, and any attempt to buff out the scratch is going to harm the coating. There are firms advertising iPad screen repairs online but I know almost nothing about them.
