Invitation for find-my-friends got lost

My invitation for find-my-friends got lost.
I on the other hand, received his invitation and can see his position.
Any suggestions?
Thx, Kurt

We tried. Unfortunately same result. I can see him, he cannot see me. We also tried the other way round: he invites me. Of course after we were both uninvited. His invitation does not reach me at all. I have several email addresses. None of them worked. :-(

  • I have iPhone and iPad with the same apple ID. How to share both my devices for Find My Friends ?

    Hi -
I have an iPhone and an iPad using the same apple ID. I'm unable to share location from both the devices at the same time for "Find My Friends". I am only able to pick one device. Any help to share both the devices is greatly appreciated.

Find my friends is designed to locate DIFFERENT Apple ID's.  So if you want to use FMF for this purpose, you would need to create a different apple ID for one of your devices.
OR, you could use the Find My iPhone App.  Which will display ALL of your devices.

  • HT204407 Is anyone else having issues with login for Find My Friends App?

I keep getting the error message "either login name or password is incorrect. I have reset the password but I still get the same error message. Does anyone know the fix for this? Thanks, Terry

I just got the same message myself. Which I have only had 2 times in three years, so I checked here.

There is an issue with the iTunes Store on Apple's end, so I assume that is why we cannot connect.

  • HT201493 How do you change the settings for find my friends to use my contacts. When I signed in I selected do not allow iPhone to use my contacts and now all the names are in e mail format.

When I opened the app I selected do not allow, to use my contacts, but now realise I should have allowed it. I have uninstalled and reloaded it, but it will not ask me to use my contacts again. Any ideas as now I see e mail names and not just the persons name.

If you go to Settings > Notes > Default Account you will see "On My iPhone" as the default account and the only choice if you have not enabled syncing Notes in Settings >iCloud or Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. If you have enabled syncing you can still select "On My iPhone" as the default account. When you are in the Notes app you won't see any accounts listed if you have not enabled syncing because they are all in the On My iPhone account and that is the only place possible. It is not a folder that you create.

  • HT201493 I can't accept a request for find my friends. It says to download it from the itunes store, but I already have it downloaded.

How do I accept a request?

    Hi kmarm,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
I would suggest deleting the app from your iPhone and redownloading it:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Find My Friends no longer accepts invites

    Hello,
All of a sudden my wife and I can't send/receive invitations with Find My Friends App.  Worked forever till recently. If I send the request from my phone her name will show up in the list as invited for 20 seconds then disappear. If I send the invite from her phone, I can only type in my email address that is my iCloud, but it stays grey and doesn't turn orange as valid. I have verified iCloud is working on her phone, I can manually do an iCloud backup, her Find my iPhone app works... but also on her phone...in her Contacts for her contact...I've added a photo...and when I log into Find My Friends, at the bottom of the screen where it shows "Me" it doesn't show the photo. Odd.... it's an iPhone 5, and on 7.1  Oh and location services are working on the phone too.
Any suggestions appreciated and thank you in advance.  Hopefully I'm just missing something easy.
    Regards,
    Bob

    Hey there doylebob,
It sounds like your Find my Friends invitations are not working correctly. I would use the troubleshooting from the following article to help resolve this issue:
    iCloud: Troubleshooting Find My Friends
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4008
Make sure that you have the latest version of the Find My Friends app installed on your iOS device. If the app is up to date, try the steps for troubleshooting apps purchased from the App Store.
Make sure there aren't any current issues listed in System Status affecting Find My Friends.
Make sure the issue you're seeing isn't already covered in the Help menu. Find My Friends Help is available within the Find My Friends app.
Find My Friends 3.0 or later:
On an iPhone or iPod touch, tap Me, then tap Help.
On an iPad, tap the List button, tap Me, tap Info, then tap Help.
Find My Friends 2.1.1 or earlier: Tap the Me tab, tap Account, then tap Find My Friends Help.
Quit and restart the Find My Friends app on your iOS device. Wait a minute before reopening the Find My Friends app.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • Find My Friends iOS 8

    Is there anyway to:
    1) use a different AppleID to sign into different devices for the 'Find My Friends' app using iOS8? It appears that any device using the same iCloud account must also use the same AppleID for "Find My Friends" now. I just got off the phone with Apple Care. It's my 4th call to them (or return call from them) in the last 4 days totally over 4 hours. Their conclusion is no and I just need to separate each device onto a separate AppleID for iCloud & Find My Friends. When I ask them how all our devices used by 3 family members would then share contacts, calendars, notes, etc the response was nobody else does that. So if I can't do that is there a way to:
    2) Share contact, calendar, notes and other data between separate iCloud accounts? If I can't use a different AppleID for Find My Friends can I merge two AppleID's and share data like the new iTunes allows family sharing? The Apple Techs seem to think no. Based on my testing it is also no.
The way Find My Friends is designed for iOS 8 (versus all previous versions) where the iCloud account determines the Find My Friends ID, defeated the ability of all but one member of my family to allow friends to actually find them and it requires all of us to share the location of all friends.
There has got to be a better way than trying to get Apple to change the app back to the iOS 7 version?

Just  upgraded to an iPhone 6 and was hoping that might resolve the issue by default but unfortunately I'm getting the same error message as above. Anyone got any ideas? My wife thinks I'm deliberately blocking my whereabouts

  • Does Find My Friends need to be installed to work?

    Hey all,
I have a problem with something that happened Monday. My fiancee was in the hospital sunday night but went to work monday anyways, and her sister picked her up from our house and dropped her off from work. So she didnt have a car all day. She works at a main campus but there is another smaller campus about 15 minutes drive away. We were texting all morning and then at 10:45am she stopped texting. No problem. After 45 minutes I got conerned because she was in the hospital a few hours before. I texted her "are you OK?". Nothing. I called her. Nothing. Another 30 minutes go by and being so concerned, I login to Find My Friends and she pops up as being at this smallar campus. Let me make it clear, she has nothing to do with this other campus and has no need to be there.
After a total of 2 hours of no responses, she texts me back and tells me she was in a meeting at her boses office (which is in the same biulding and floor as her own building). Confused, I login to Find My Friends again and now I see her at the shuttle stop at the smaller location. I watch it as she appears to have gotten onto the company shuttle that takes workers from the main campus to the smaller campus. So it appears FMF was 100% accurate as it was stationary at the smaller campus for 45 minutes, then jumped to the shuttle stop and then I watched the shuttle drive to the main campus through the city.
Now, the only saving grace is that her mom also has an iPhone. However, sometimes her mom would be logged into her Apple ID account (but never her iCloud account). Her mom updated her iPhone about 6 days ago to iOS 5. She created an iCloud account and verified it, but never setup the iCloud section in her settings and never installed Find my Friends on her iPhone. Her mom does work at this smaller campus. So, my question is could her moms deivce have replaced my fiancees device for Find My Friends? Even though she never setup the iCloud settings on her phone and Find My Friends was not installed??
Thanks all for your help. This was an caring and innocent discovery that I cannot stop worrying about.

No, Find my friends would need to be installed, you change the device being followed from the find my friends settings. It could be either device being followed depending on the settings, not which was last logged in, you can choose any device to follow from any device, the chanes are then synced across all devices.

  • App store app got lost on iPad, how to reinstall it?

My app for the app store got lost on my iPad and I didn't found it on the app store (via iTunes) itself. I just recognized it, because its no longer to possible to organize my apps via my mac book. The setting section for the app store is still available, but not the app itself.
How can I reinstall the app? Or did I make something else wrong?
Some communities wrote, that it might be due to a jailbreak, but I didn't made one (doesn't even know what exactly this means).
    Appreciate your help!

It can't be deleted , it's a built-in app (so you also can't re-download it). If you can't find it on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then is it hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > Installing Apps being set 'off' ?
If not then have you tried a reset to see if you can find it after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Remove Notifications to a friend on Find My Friends

    Hey folks
I have an interesting problem. I have a up to date Iphone5s and I am using Find My Friends.
I accidentially turned on Notify "Friend".
So now when ever I come and go from my place and work... I been sending a notifications of my comings and going.
Ok when this happened we thought it was funny but now I really like to find a way to turn it off.
So on my phone under Find My Friends, Under the Persons Name, there is Notify Me and Notify Friend.
How do I turn off all notifications?
One of the things I have tried to do is to remove them from my friend list and then re-add them.
    That didn't work.....
Does anyone know how to turn notifications to this friend off?
    Thanks!
    -David

    Hi adper,
It sounds like you have checked key items to see them, but I want to make sure we have all the bases covered.
    iCloud: Troubleshooting Find My Friends
"No location available" label for friends
    This can occur if:
The device being located:Your friend is currently not signed in to the Find My Friends app on the device being located.
    Is turned off
Is not connected to a data network (cellular or Wi-Fi)
Has Hide My Location (Hide from Followers in version 2.1.1 or earlier) turned on in the Find My Friends app
Has Location Services turned off altogether in Settings > Privacy > Location Services or has Location Services turned off specifically for Find My Friends in Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Find Friends
Your friend is currently not signed in to the Find My Friends app on the device being located.
    Take care,

  • Share my Location iOS8 or Find my Friends?

What is the relationship between 'Find my Friends' and 'Share my Location' in iMessage?
Firstly. If I 'Share my location indefinatey' in an iMessage, does this sharing somehow continue after I delete the iMessage post used to initiate the share??
Is 'share my location' a replacement for 'find my friends'?
Are they one and the same now?? I'm confused..

Find My Friends is a Third-Party App that requires you to specifically approve whomever your "Friends" are.  Once you and they Approve within the App you can click on the App at any time and if your Friend is within WiFi (or Cellular Data if selected) you will see where they (i.e., their iPhone) are located at that point in time, or the last time they where connected.
The iMessage Share My Location is a Feature within the standard Messages App

  • HT201493 Need help with Find My Friend App

I get the error msg "Location Services Disabled".  Tells me to "turn on Location Services for Find My friends in Settings".  But I can't find it under Settings.  Any help appreciated.

    Check under privacy in settings.

  • HT204407 Find My Friends app

Find my Friends app shows my location services as off.  Even though I said yes when it asked to use it.  How do I turn it on?

This doesn't help.  When I follow the path above, for Find my Friends it shows it as working while using.  But when I am in the app, at the bottom where it has Me listed- it says Location Services off in red letters.  When I push on that, it takes me to a screen that has a Share My Location option that is off.  It is greyed out so that I can not change it.

  • Change account in iOS 8 Find my Friends?

It seams that under iOS 8, Find my Friends is now lock into using my iCloud login?
In the past I was able to use a separate Apple ID for Find my Friends.
Am I missing where the logout is so that I can change back to the Apple ID all my friends are following?

I agree that this is a real step back and a bit of a pain. My wife and I have always shared an iCloud account and have been able to separate our iMessage and Facetime and Find Friends accounts but keep everything else together.
I understand that we are supposed to be using family sharing, and for the most part it looks like it would work, except for the photos.
I have upgraded to iCloud photos  and was really looking forward to having just one wall of photos that my wife and I can share and manage an keep everything on all of our devices.
If I understand how family sharing works with photos, we now have a separate 'family' stream and we have to copy pictures from our own (now separated) iCloud photo accounts and copy them into the family's stream to be able to see each other's photos.
I don't think I want to do that, so does this mean we have to give up on find friends?
I just read something that makes this a dealbreaker. With the family sharing, you cannot share an iTunes match account. So, looks like we will not be using family sharing and will just have to live without find friends.
One workaround is to use 'find my phone'. If I need to know where my wife is, I can just look up where her phone is.

  • I misplace my iPad mini with a pink case and the iPad is white, I lost it in eagle rock plaza mall on one of the couches , please help me find it   i got it for my graduation gift

I misplace my iPad mini white with a pink case in eagle Rock mall on Friday may 16,2014 on one of the couches second level. Glendale Cali.please help me find it I got it for my graduation   :(

If you had "Find My iPad" enabled in Settings > iCloud then you may be able to locate it. If not, you cannot locate it.
If it was enabled then you can try locating it via http://icloud.com on a computer or the App "Find My iPhone" on another iDevice. Note: this will only work if your device is connected to a network and the device hasn't already been restored as new and/or "Find My iPad" has not been disabled on it. Note: Disabling "Find My iPad" is much more difficult in iOS 7.
If you think that your device was stolen rather than lost then you should report it to the police. In either case you should contact your carrier, change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.
