Invoice Reduction (Debit Memo) Scenario

Here is the processing I'm trying to get to work in SAP. Vendor send us an invoice, we post the invoice in MIRO and the invoice is blocked for payment (the Invoice price > PO Price). Now that the invoice is in blocked status, it is routed to the department that deals w/ discrepancies. They determine that it is a Vendor pricing error, so they send a Debit Memo to the Vendor stating we are posting a credit in the amount they over charged us.
It looks like the Invoice Reduction functionality in MIRO has what we are looking for (printing out the complaint and posting the credit to the account) except we don't know if the Vendor is at fault at the time of Invoice Entry. Is there a way to run Invoice Reduction or post a Debit Memo after the invoice is posted? Also, we have a few Golden Vendors where we won't send a Debit memo and will wait for them to send us a Credit memo before posting to the Vendor account, so the solution will need to take this into account.
As usual, any guidance you can provide will be appreciated.

I agree, you can use the Credit Memo functionality in SAP, but I don't think you can print out a form once the credit memo form to send to the Vendor that states you are taking the debit.  It would also be useful if this process was automated.  The invoice is blocked, you determine that the Vendor is at fault, the Credit Memo is automatically posted and a Debit Memo is printed out.  Anyone aware of any bolt on software that might help?

    I have a problem related to excise invoice for debit memo ,problem is ,
    We have created the order,delivery,billing and excise invoice for the basic price of Rs.100.
    But now the basic price has increased,and its become Rs.120.
    So that ,now we have created the debit memo requeste and debit memo for the balance amount of  Rs.20.But as you know that there is no delivery, so we can not create the excise invoice for debit amount (Rs.20).
    So for that amount I tried to create the excise invoice with t.code J1IH (other adjustment),but this amount is going in cenvat clearing account.
    So can you please guide me that how can I create the excise invoice to debit the cenvat suspence account.
    Please reply ASAP.

  • Excise Invoice -Credit & Debit Memo

    Whether we have to create excise invoice in case of credit and debit memo

    Credit & Debit Memo are Order Related Billing & Excise Invoice is created against Delivery. Hence Credit & Debit Memo cannot be created against Excise Invoice.
    Incase, if Excise Amount is to be adjusted as Debit or Credit, it is recommended to do the same through Excise JV: J1IH

    Also during Debit memo request how we can create excise invoice?

    other adj: this is used when we need to debit the RG23A & c as well as PLA Reg
    add excise: if we want to credit the reg we need to use add excise
    TR6 challan: update the TR6 challan, when we deposit money in PLA
    mat write off: as name suggest to write off the material.
    mat non prod: material non production in sap.

  • Billing numbers based on CST & VAT for Invoice, Credit / Debit Memo's.

    Hi All,
    We are doing implementation for an Indian Client and we came across one requirement which required some customization. The requirment is as follows.
    1. We have defined all States as Storage locations and these location have assigned to one plant.
    2. Now, wehenever user creates billing from these locations system should pick up different number ranges based on the Storage location number range. The reason why they want different is In India if any company has sales activities in any of the states and if that locations are register under Sales tax authorities they need to submit sales tax registers to the respective state sales tax authorities in serial billing numbers.
    3. Just want to tell you each storage location has unique Shipping point.
    Couls some one light on this and let me know any user exits / any other soultions along with logic.

  • Combine selected Debit memo request Items into one invoice

    Hi
    The requirment is to select line items from multi debit memo request documents and combine those line items into one invoice.
    So far, our ABAP developer is designing an selection screen to list all the line items met certain criteria (e.g. certain material number, or certain service rendered dates etc.) from multi debit memo request.
    My challenge is how actually combine all these line items and push into one invoice ?
    I see that in VF01 SAP provides the capability to combine multi sales documents into one invoice processing . ( forget about the invoice split rule for now.) , but the item selection is greyed out.
    If I use VF06 do the collective billing, where to enter the line items ?
    Is there some user exit / BAPI can push line items from different sales document into one invoice creation ?
    Please let me know if my requirement is not clear.

    1.) As my understanding that debit memo is a billing invoice. Debit Memo Request is a sales doc. At least what I meant here debit memo and billing invoice is the same document.
    2.) We would like create the debit memo (invoice) through "SD" not FI.
    The challenge still exists, let me explain.
    Let's say we have 50 Debit Memo Request (DMR) Documents ready to bill the customer and each DMR has multi line items.
    e.g. DMR 001 has 20 line items and DMR 002 has 30 line items.
    The customer would like to take the 10 line items from DMR 001 and 20 line items from DMR 002 ( by certain selection criteria) to combine into one invoice.
    I was thinking use VF01 to combine the DMR 001 and 002 and let the program put billing block on those non-billed items, but in reality it doens't work; because some of the line items in the original DMR may have already been blocked the user. If the program put billing block, I can't tell whether the line item billing block is set originally by end user or the program.
    What I am trying to search for is the solution to take some of the line items from different DMRs and combine into one invoice, not combine several DMRs into one single invoice.
    Please help if there is any BAPI can do the job .

  • Pricing Procedure (Debit Memo)

    I have a pricing procedure at oder level let suppose ABC, I made delivery and billing all is well till that.
    Than if delivered quantiy is less than the target quantity client will suppose to create a debit memo sort of penality to the customer, reference to that invoice quantity confirmation source is POD.
    My debit memo pricing procedure is different from ABC, mean a PROO and MWST is appear on that not other charges or condition type.
    I have assign the procedure at debit memo sales document type but what happen when in VA01 give the reference of invoice and copy the item the whole same (ABC) pricing is came up on the order (Debit Memo Request) which is not required I want the actual procedure will call.
    If after this i directly go to the billing document after approval of this document my actual pricing procedure is there, but a different condition type is present in the 2nd pricing procedure that will not come, so I manually press the "Carry out new pricing" so that condition type than will appear..
    Hope my gurus understand the problem. I want that actual pricing procedure is available at order if not that all the condition type will appear at the time of billing. I cant set the carry out new pricing setting in the copying control because if i done this the whole condition type of order will aappear at billing as well.

    I have a pricing procedure ABC having following condition types
    1. PR00
    2. ZSED
    3. ZWEH
    4. MWST
    sales to order above procedure work and i got the accounting documents and invoice.
    My 2nd pricing procedure is XYZ for Debit Memo and assign on document type, have th efollowing steps.
    1. PR00
    2. MWST
    3. ZHE1
    4. ZHE2
    when i create debit memo with reference to invoice at debit memo (Sales document type) the pricing procedure ABC is come automatically, and when I go to billing the actual pricing procedure is come, plus i have to press maullay carry out new pricing button, other wise the common condition type is came at billing, if in copying control if i by default maintain the carry ou tnew price system duplicate the condition types.
    Hope you will now understand my issue and give any value added feedback for the resolution of hte issue.

  • Excise document for Debit Memo

    Hi,
    When I am doing excise invoice for debit memo for sales in J1IH in other adjustments system shows the below entry
    Debit- Excise duty collected (PL Account)
    Credit-Excise duty payable/E.cess (B/S account)
    which happens at the time of J1IN excise posting.
    But at the time of posting entry is changed as follows
    Debit PLA
    Credit Excise duty collected
    Could anyone of you offer your valuable inputs, how the entry gets changed at the time of posting and what changes needs to be done  as the First entry is correct and posted entry is not correct.

    We can use J1IN only instead of J1IH to generate excise invoice.
    Check these two nodes in the configuation. verify Debit and credit rules for different transaction types..
    1. Specify Excise Accounts per Excise Transaction
    2. Specify G/L Accounts per Excise Transaction

    I came across a challenging issue... seeking help from you...
    MIRO posting Vendor is Subjected to withholding tax & INVOICE REDUCTION scenario..... As per SAP Invoice Reduction scenarion, MIRO creates Invoice and subsequent debit memo for reduction amount.
    When User try to post the LIV document, transaction returns the " Express Termination error " due to Duplicate entries are accumulated for Table RBWS with same SPLIT_KEY (Grouping key for Splitting Vendor line item ) for 2 sets of withholding Tax entries. ST22 system dump happens in FM- MRM_WITHHOLDING_TAXES_SAVE. Couldn't able to find the reason for Duplicate SPLIT_KEY
    I Would like to understand significance of SPLIT_KEY in RBWS ? and
    Under what circumstance MIRO posting will have different SPLIT_KEY
    in RBWS for same MM document ??

    When you create an implementation for the BAdI MRM_WT_SPLIT_UPDATE,
    fill the internal tables TE_RBVS[] and TE_RBWS[] as follows:
    TE_RBVS[] = I_RBKPV-H_RBVS[].
    TE_RBWS[] = I_RBKPV-H_RBWS[].
    it seems you should do the same.
    e.g.
    TE_RBWS[] = LT_RBWS[].
    3.- you´re filling internal table lt_lfbw but you´re not doing anything with it, why?

  • Who to Knockoff of Debit memo to Standard Invoice

    Hi All
    IN Release 12.0.6
    Business current Scenario:- Currently business is entering a Standard invoice for the total amount say 1000$ and entering the Debit memo for say 200$ and creating the accounting that means system is generating the accounting for standard invoice $1000 and separately $200 for debit memo.
    that means we are paying firstly $1000 and and later adjusting the debit memos for $200 after the final payment of standard invoice $1000 to supplier to $200 more .
    Requirement:- 1.Now business want to make the final payment only $800 rather than $1000
    2.and business want to know also which debit note is knockoff against which standard invoice.
    is there any possibility of above mention requirment.

    When you will make the payment of that invoice select the invoice with full amount then in the next line select the debit memo that is in negative so system will make the payment of 800$ after deducting debit memo.

    Normally we create Excise Invoice with reference to Inter company Invoices . Is it possible to create Excise invoice w.r.t. Credit Memo/ Debit Memo. If Yes , then what are the settings that needs to be maintained and where?

    Excise JV thru J1IH transaction is one option. It gives you 6 options.
    1.Material Doc for written off
    2.materail doc for non production
    3.Additional Excise
    4.Other adjustments
    5 TR6 Challan
    6.Cacel Excise Invoice

  • Creating a debit memo request with reference to an invoice

    Hi,
    An invoice shows wrong MWST value because of incorrect customer tax classification as Tax exempt. I corrected the cust tax classification to "Liable for Tax". Then I tried to create a debit memo request with reference to the incorrect invoice. Thats a requirement by the customer. Invoices with incorrect VAT are not to be cancelled. A specially created VAT only sales order (Debit memo request) is used to create a sales order with 0 net value and correct MWST . But while trying to create the debit memo request, the system picks up the same old condition record for the MWST. How to overcome this situation ?
    The copy control for the item category from billing doc to debit memo request is set to "B" that is  new pricing. I even tried to update pricing. But it does not work. Changing the Service rendered date or the pricing date to current date also does not help.
    Please help.

    This is working fine. What I did was
    1: create a new pricing procedure
    2: made the PR00 condition statistical
    3: using a routine calculate the MWST based on the PR00. But PR00 itself does not contribute to the net value. This part is working fine. I could create debit memos successfully.
    The problem is if we change either the customer or the material tax classification after creating the invoice, and then create a debit request with reference to the incorrect invoice, the system still considers the old tax classfication and therefore the old MWST rate. If I create a debit request without reference, the new rate is applicable.
    I hope I have made clear.

    I  dont  get  BSEG-REBZG  content  in  FI  but  I  have  it  in  the  invoice-Reference  number.......What  can  be  wrong ?
    I  am  working  with  debit  memo  and  I  need  there  the  previos  Invoice  number  in  order  to determine the baseline date from the  F2  invoice  I  have create the  debit memo as  reference.

    To activate the payment terms on these non-invoice related credit memos, enter a V in the "Invoice Reference" field when
    entering the document.
    The above works for credit memo, please check for debit memo.
