Invoking BPEL process from ADF application - webservice connection failed
Hi,
I am trying to invoke a Bpel process from ADF page , I deployed the same in Standalone SOA server since I had to display some Human Task Forms.
I created a webservice data control out of the bpel process and dropped the process method in my page.
The page on which I dropped the process method stopped rendering and I checked the logs and found that I got the error mesage- webservice connection failed,the webservice url could not be reached and in the logs it also asks us to check if the connections.xml is available in the meta-inf directory. I checked the conections.xml is available in the EAR.
So any pointers here and any one faced this error anytime?
is there better ways to invoke the bpel flow from ADF page.

Hi,
Check if your wsdl endpoint can accessed properly. If yes, check the soap-binding address is properly pointing to the server hosting the webservice.

How to pass multiple values while invoking bpel process from ADF?
Hi,
I want to call a bpel process from my ADF application. The bpel process is having one input parameter. I have created webservice data control by using WSDL url.
Lets say, I have an Emp multi select table. I drag and drop the data control into Emp table selection facet to create an "Invoke" button.
I am able to pass single value (lets say Empid) to the bpel process after clicking the "Invoke" button.
But, my requirement is to pass all the selected values ( as its a multi select table) to the bpel process after clicking the "Invoke" button once.
How can I achieve this?

if the BPEL method that you access allows you to pass arrays or lists, then you can get a list of selectedRowKeys from the table, which then you use to get the value from the underlying binding or the table. This however requires some Java coding instead of directly invoking the executable on the binding layer
- you create the BPEL method in the binding layer
- from a Java managed bean you call ADFBindingContext --> get current instance and access Binding container
- OperationBinding oper = (OperationBinding ) bindings.get("method to invoke");

Invoking BPEL process from ADF...
All,
I have deployed one BPEL process and invoking the same process from ADF test page. I created one Webservice Data Control for this process and did drag and drop to ADF page. It is working fine as expected.
When I created data control, I gave the web service URL as "http://<hostname>:<port>/orabpel/default/<processname>/.......<processname>.wsdl
My question is, if I want to deploy this BPEL process as well as this ADF page into another server, what will happen to this ADF data control ? since the hostname and port will not be similar for the new server. Do I need to change any params ?
Or when we create data control itself, are there any options to achieve this ?
Please let me know the details.

Invoke Bpel process from web application
Hi,
I am using SOA 11g, I have created a Bpel human workflow process. was able to initiate the same from the console.
My requirement is like need to invoke the same programatically.How can I do that.
Read some docs says Bpel process can be invoked from ejb's soap etc.
I am new to, bit confused what and how to implement the same.
Can any one provide me links/sample for the same.
Also need How to get the tasks ID if we want to initiate the tast thru java program

I have checked in
1. C:\Oracle\Middleware\Jdev\jdeveloper\soa\modules\oracle.soa.bpel_11.1.1\orabpel.jar and
2. C:\Oracle\Middleware\Home\Oracle_SOA1\soa\modules\oracle.soa.bpel_11.1.1\orabpel.jar
couldn't find the java file at these locations.

Issue with webservice data control while invokin bpel process from ADF side
Hello Experts,
we are creating webservice data control to invoke bpel process from ADF side.
When I run the application and inovoke the bpel every thing is working fine.
But when we are changeing the instances from DEV to SIT the bpel url(hostname and port) will change.
So we just edited DataControls.dcx file and we just replaced the wsdl url and trying to run the applicaiton.
This time the applicaiton is not invoking the bpel process.
If I remove the webservice data control and recreate it with new WSDL url then it is working fine.
Can any one tell us what the exact issue is. Is there any other files do i need to modify or etc.

Error: JSP files must reside in the server root directory or a subdirectory beneath it

Invoking bpel process from java in oracle soa/bpm 11g

We have some java code to invoke bpel process in oracle BPM 10g following the instructions in http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/integrate.1012/b14448/invoke.htm.
Basically the steps are:
1) get a Locator (com.oracle.bpel.client.Locator)
2) get IDeliveryService (com.oracle.bpel.client.delivery.IDeliveryService) reference from locator
3) call IDeliveryService method request or post with input message and get the response back.
Recently we want to migrated from oracle bpm 10g to oracle soa/bpm 11g. But I can not find the similar API in 11g. It seems now some adapter/binding need to be added in exposed service lane in soa composite view, for example, ADF-BC, direct binding etc, in order to allow java to invoke a bpel process. Here are two very useful links from Edwin about the detail how this is implemented.

Yes, I found the difference of the invoking process API and was able to invoke bpel process using direct and ADF-BC binding by following Edwin's blog. But I have not found any official reference to compare this API difference between 10g and 11g ( I will mark this question as answered if anyone can find an official source from oracle, need to prove it to the team). The API to work with human task workflow seems pretty much the same between 10g and 11g. -

I'm integrating BPEL with GIS(Geographic Information System) webservices provided by ESRI(Arcweb services). My main BPEL process that I built follows this sample example. The problem is that I need to show a working client application within 2 days or else my project is termed as incomplete and my graduation will be postponed to next semester. :(

Just a quick thought, I assumed that if I attach the output of the my Invoke(Client) to a Reply activity,which will make it a two way operation.

Invoking bpel process from another bpel process in same app server

When I invoke a bpel process from another bpel process in the same oracle AS
1. Is it a SOAP call or is there any optimization?
2. If there is some optimization where can I configure this?
3. Is there any similar optimizations if I invoke a bpel process from a
java application deployed in the same server? If so can you please provide
a sample?

RajBy default the BPEL 10.1.2, it will do a local call to the process. It will not execute a SOAP request, no network access is done.
It can be configured at domain level:
Parameter: optSoapShortcut (SOAP local optimization)
Turns on "short-cut" for local SOAP request; local SOAP calls are normally done via an internal call instead of sending a message through the SOAP stack.
The default behavior for the engine is to optimize all. To disable optimization specify a value other than "true" or "yes". -

Please adviseyou are right the file adapter doesnt invoke any bpel
process, instead it is polling the file from
directory location?If it is polling for new files, shouldn't it create a new instance of the BPEL process automatically the moment it finds a new file? In other words, should a new file trigger an instance of the BPEL process rather than being started from PL/SQL?
