IO 4 update made 3G phone very slow

After updating to the new software my 3G phone has been very slow. Typing text messages it does not keep up with the typing and every word is messed up. Loading of any app is very slow. I have tried restarting the phone and it does nothing. It is clearly obvious that this is an issue if others are reporting the same issues. So are you going to try and figure this one out Apple or should we all throw our iPhones into the ocean?

Some Users have Reported that a Restore as New has helped Resolve issues...

Slow performance after installing Yosemite on an older Mac is often caused by inadequate memory. Although you can install the upgrade on a Mac with 2 GB of memory, experience has shown that at least 4 GB is needed for full performance.
Select About This Mac from the Apple menu. If you have less than 4 GB of memory, and your model has upgradable memory, install as much as it can take, or at least that much. Any reputable RAM vendor will have a web form in which you can select the Mac model and be directed to compatible parts.
Memory in the MacBook Air is not upgradable. If that's what you have, you should restore the previous system from a backup, or replace the machine. Ask if you need guidance.
The Etrecheck report clearly shows that SylvieRose has a Macbook Pro, not a Macbook Air and that there are only 2 GB  RAM installed.  The Etrecheck report can be very informative if one takes the time to examine it.

    Hello,
I have installed mountain lion on my macbook pro ,but it made my mac very slow. Would someone please tell me how  to uninstall this one and reinstall snow leopard? I tried to do it by my original CDs but macbook  pro didn't let me to do it.
    Thanks

It would be easier to just fix whatever is making your machine slow.
I wrote a little diagnostic program to help show what might be causing these problems. Download EtreCheck from http://www.etresoft.com/download/EtreCheck.zip, run it, and paste the results here.

Do a backup, preferably 2 separate ones on 2 separate drives.
Revert to a Previous OS X - Yosemite

If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

iOS 6 levels should run fine on your iPod Touch 4g but you should first update to iOS 6.1.2 which is the latest to see if that helps your problem.

Did you restart your computer after repairing permissions?
Disconnect all peripherals from your computer. Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
    Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
    Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
    Click Repair Disk.
    Restart your computer when done.
Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25751 and restart your computer.
    Your system info says:
    MacBook Pro
Yet, in your postings you say:  "MacBook" which is an entirely different computer.  Typo?  Are you in the correct community area?

  • Doubts about going back to Leopard because lion made the computer very slow

hi i bought a macbook  pro on 2009 it came with leopard operating system. When lion came into the market i installed it but since then the computer is very slow.
I took it to an apple sotre and they told me that the memory was almost full so i bought an external hard drive where i have now all my music, photos and documents. But the computers is still very slow.
So im thinking about going back to leopard but i have some questions. i hope someone here help me
    1. will i experience any problem synchronizing my iphone 5 or my ipad4?
    2. will i be able to update itunes to the last version?
    3. how shall make a backup of my computer
    4. What do i have to do to restore leopard into my computer
    thanks!

How much RAM does it have..?
To find out, go up on your menu bar to: Apple > About This Mac
If you have no other problems and plenty of free HDD space? Then 2GB of RAM will feel real slow running multiple Apps in Lion or Mountian Lion and you should try upgrading the RAM 4GB or more before moving back to Snow Leopard.

  • Updating iTunes library is very slow

My iTunes library lives on an external drive, so when I'm away from my desk at home, my MacBook Pro defaults back to the internal drive if I use iTunes while disconnected from the main library. Before the 7.2 upgrade this workflow worked fine: I would mount my external drive with my library, reset the library location in iTunes prefs, and iTunes would go about "Updating iTunes library" after which I could consolidate to copy over anything I added while not connected to the external drive.
Since the 7.2 upgrade, updating the library is EXTREMELY slow. Granted my library is large (300GB), but the procedure used to take at most a few minutes, and now after 7.2 it is more like 15 minutes. Any ideas why? I'm also open to suggestions for a better workflow for handling an external library, and reconciling it with my MacBook.
    I appreciate your help!

    Hi
I am having the same issue - what's interesting is I thought it was how I connect to the external drive with all my music on it - currently I connect to a newer model airport extreme with a lacie 1T drive attached. joined to that network is an airport express through which i play music (connected to a stereo).
like you, updating my itunes library took a minute or 2, now it takes over 15 minutes. not cool. also my library is only 180GB.
you asked how to manage music on multiple drives, one program i use is called "folder sync" and with it i can make sure anything i've added gets put into the larger library on the external drive...i do this to the album artwork folder too BTW.

  • OS X Yosemite has made my MacBook very slow

    Hello all.
The new OS X Yosemite update has made my MacBook (13-inch 2006-2010) really slow. Has anyone else had this problem and how do you resolve it? I would have thought Apple would bring out another update by now to help the slowness it has bought to my Mac but I am still waiting and to be honest, getting very fed up with how slow it is.
    It is a MacBook 13-inch late 2009 (I believe).
    Any help is welcome

    Hello,
Thank you for all your replies.
Linc Davis- I was not using Yosemite before the upgrade I was using which ever operating system was before that and it was running fine.

  • After updating 10.9.2, VERY slow startup

Hello, I updated 2 days ago to Mavericks 10.9.2.
    I am using a Mid 2010 Macbook Pro i7 2,66Ghz 8GB RAM.
I was using Mavericks without any problem but since this update it takes AGES to startup my macbook, about half an hour...
Once finally starts it goes completely smooth and fine...
    Any suggestions?

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Note the timestamps of the BOOT_TIME log messages, which refer to the times when the system was started. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time when you had the problem. Select the messages logged after the boot, during the time something abnormal was happening. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combinationcommand-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
For example, if the problem is a slow startup taking three minutes, post the messages timestamped within three minutes  after the boot time, not before. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the beginning of the log extract—not at the end.
If there are long runs of repeated messages, please post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A crash report has a name that begins with the name of the crashed process and ends in ".crash". A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". Select the most recent of each. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
☞ If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash or panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
☞ Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • IOS iphone, updating photo library is very slow

both on my iphone 4s and ipad 2.
takes more than 5mins on every time updating. Thus, I need to wait a very long time on every time opening iphoto on my iOS devices.
any way to solve this problem?
    Thanks.

The fewer photos you have on your iPad the less time it takes to update the photo library. Probably not the answer you want to hear but that's the way it is for iPhoto for iOS right now.
