Io7 download, unable to use my phone hellppp :o(

i downloaded the new io7 software last night on my phone whilst I had it charging. I heard it would take a while so I went to bed and left it to run. I woke this morning to see the new changes and I couldn't access my phone. All it's been showing all day is a picture of the connection wire to connect to iTunes. I have got home and tried to do that and now it's saying updating new software, then it stops and says "restore before you use iTunes" - how can I do anything if I can't access my phone? I have spoke to other people and their download was fine and didn't have to connect up to iTunes, so why do I, what will happen if I restore? How can I restore if I can't get my phone in working mode?? Can anyone advice me what to do? I haven't been able to use my phone all day and still can't use it.

I attempted to update my iphone 3 using itunes. I'm not certain but I believe I did a backup on my pc first. I am now unable to use the phone at all - the slide bar won't move and I have a camera icon next to the slide bar which is not responsive. I have tried to sync and even left the phone connected to the pc overnight. The phone is going flat within a couple of hours and won't stop beeping every few seconds and seems to be syncing all the time, even when disconnected from pc. Try resetting it if you can: hold the on/off and home buttons until you see the Apple logo (ignore the off slider that appears first), then release. If you can't, try to connect it to iTunes, go to the Summary tab of your sync settings and click Restore to restore it. If that doesn't work you'll have to force it into recovery mode to restore it as outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808.
You can check in iTune to see if you have a backup. They are listed in iTunes>Preferences>Devices. However, the backup may not bring your contacts back as contacts are only backed up as necessary to preserve the recent call and call favorites lists. -
installed the ios 7.0.2 update to my iphone 4, now it is stuck on a screen with itunes icon and power plug.

That's usully symptomatic of a phone that was jailbroken or hacked to unlock it.

All Apple Support would be able to do is walk you through the steps. Or, if you visit an Apple Store, they may be able to assist you. Make an appointment online for your local Apple Store. -

Are you sure it's the E71x? The "x" stands for the US model. The E71-1 is for the EU and Asia market. Dial*#0000# to see what version you have.

On my iphone 4S, the images are all magnified and I am unable to zoom the images out and use the phone. Any suggestion to prevent this from happening and correcting this?

Hi i currently cannot swipe up to get to the control centre on my iphone 4. So am unable to swith the do not disturb off therefore are unable to use my phone
Do not disturb is also accesible in settings, so you may be able to temporarily avoid the issue by allowing calls from everyone and having it only silent while locked, or perhaps secheduling might work. Other than that, restarting your device may be an option.
Is there any reason you know of that might be making you unable to access control center? -

X230 bluetooth does not work - unable to use cell phone as personal hotspot
I am trying to use the bluetooth in my X230 to pair my laptop with my cell phone. I want to be able to use my cell phone as a personal hotspot, in case I am in an area with no secure wi-fi. I would have thought that this would be standard feature in a laptop that is touted as a business device, but apparently this is not the case.
I installed both the bluetooth driver and the latest system update, as suggested by Sarbin...

... but it is still not working for me. I am now able to connect my cell phone to my X230, but instead of enabling me to access the internet via bluetooth, a dialogue box appears enabling me to play songs that are on my cell phone using the laptop speakers.
I am disappointed that the bluetooth driver did not come pre-installed on the x230, and I am disappointed that I am not able to use my cell phone as a personal hotspot for my x230.

Go to Solution.There is a key step missing from the prior post, but is shown on the link.
After the steps described in the prior post (e.g., disabling all services on the Bluetooth device except NAP), go to <Control Panel<, <Devices and Printers>, right click on the Bluetooth device (e.g., iPhone) that you want to connect to for your internet hotspot access point, and then click on <Connect Using> and then <Access Point>.
Using this method, the Lenovo's Access Connections program does NOT control this internet connection, thus the icon in the system tray will show NO connection in the Lenovo wireless access icon (even though the computer is connected via the Bluetooth connection to the iPhone).
Disconnecting requires going back into Control Panel and disconnecting from the Access Point.
Kinda clunky in my opinion, but I could never get a connection to the internet via a Bluetooth/iPhone Hotspot combination using the Lenovo Access Connections software despite claims in that software's help section saying that such a connection was possible. (The Lenovo Access Connections Help section even gives instructions to use tabs that don't exist in the software.) -

You will need to restore your phone and recover from a backup. First you will need to erase and restore the device to factory settings:
You can restore the phone by completing a DFU restore.
DFU Restore:
1. Connect your phone to your computer
2. Open iTunes
3. Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake button and Home buttons simultaneously for approximately 9-10 seconds
4. When the screen goes blank, release the Sleep/Wake button and continue holding the Home button
5. the screen MUST remain black. If the Apple logo appears while still holding the Home button you did not time it properly (either you released Sleep/Wake too soon or too late)
6. iTunes will pop up with a small window indicating you have connected an iPhone in recovery mode and can Restore it to recover it.
7. If the apple logo appears due to incorrect timing the Recovery mode message may still appear in iTunes, but you should simply dismiss it and try again from step 3.
Afterwards, you'll want to restore from backup. If you use iTunes for backups, then your computer will ask if you'd like to restore the phone from backup after the process above completes and it is recognized as a blank phone in iTunes. If you use iCloud for backups, then disconnect your phone after the process above and wait for the first-time setup screen to appear on the phone. Select language, location, activate the device, and accept the terms and conditions; then choose to "restore from iCloud backup". After you sign in with your Apple ID you'll see your backups and you can select one. iCloud remembers that you had a password set but does not store the password in the cloud so when your phone restarts with your information on it it will prompt for a new password to be set.
If you did not have a backup on iTunes or iCloud, shame on you... Also, your information is gone unless you're willing to pay hundreds/thousands of dollars to a data recovery firm to maybe get things back. You get what you get and you don't get upset. -
I was instructed by I Tunes to restore my Iphone 4 - ITunes has since said it is unable to restore. I am now left with a black screen with Itunes logo on it and a picture of the charger attachment at the base of the screen and I am unable to do anything now with the device. I think I may have lost all of my information on the device too ~ can anyone help please?
You have lost all your data, but hopefully you were backing it up with iCloud or iTunes. You can try this:
Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings. -

This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID verify the changes, enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone".
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, verify it once again, delete the iCloud account from your device and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.
