IOS 4.1 on 3G - Photos a total mess now.

So i upgraded my iphone 3g to os4.1 and now when i open my photos it only shows 1/3 of my pictures, and where the rest of them should be it's just a giant black blox. i can click anywhere on the black box and my picture that would be there will pop up, but it won't show them in the camera roll. Help?....Please.

Did you also get a message about having to your sync your phone with wherever you have photos in itunes? My photos were messed up also after the 4.1 upgrade, but this is what I was able to do to make it all right again.
I saw the same thing after the 4.1 update, tried syncing with itunes. After that, the message went away, but I still could not display all the photos in my album on the phone when I went into the Photos app. But, scrolling up and down, a few photos did display, but not all, and it was real "choppy". I played around with it a few minutes, then launched iPhoto, re-imported the photos on my phone into iPhoto, then let iPhoto delete them off my phone. All is good now. A pain to have had to do all that, but phone seems better since the 4.1 update.

You will need to restore the software via the following procedure:
Turn your device off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your device and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a device in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.

The video library is empty in iMovie on iOS after update to iCloud photo library

I updated to iCloud photo library and all of my photos and videos are now in the cloud instead of my iDevice. When I open iMovie in iDevice, the photo/video library is empty. How can I use my videos in projects?

Use iPhone as designed. Like any digital camera, download your photos to your computer and delete from the iPhone to create space required for iOS upgrade.

All pics taken with the iphone should be imported to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera, most especially before any update/restore/etc.
If you have failed to do this then they are very likely gone.
You can try restoring from backup.

If you have failed to make sure that any apps purchased on the iphone were transferred to your computer before updating, then you will have to redownload.
Open itunes store, click Purchased, under Quick Links.

IOS 8.02 Memory Challenge & Photos

I have an I-phone 5 that I loaded 8.0 on it and have had problems accessing my photo's with a number of Apps and my camera roll disappeared with over 4,000 photos. It's now impossible to find a specific photo unless I go into each photo roll (day, or few days or however they are automatically made).
It thought it would be fixed in the 8.02 version, but I can't load the update since it says my phone does not have enough memory. I need over 1 GB of memory and I have a 64 GB phone with about 140 Apps.
Where can I find the memory to update the phone? I erased all 141 movies I had and only gained 100 MB of memory. Help?

Thanks for your help. What is really irritating is that Apple give a big hurray about what they have added as "new" in Pages 5 (most of it pretty useless) without telling you of the myriad things they have deleted. If they had shown the list your gave the link to, I doubt may regular users would risked going to Mavericks with its auto upgrade. My partner got the message in time and is sticking with the earlier operating systems and Pages on Mac and iPad. Lucky girl.
I have found a way to use my iPad to add chapters written while on the move to reports on my iMac Pages 4.3. If I write it on the new Pages on the iMac (don't seem to be able to revert there), the send the report as an email in WORD format (not Pages) and download it in the Text Editor, then cut and paste into the story on the iMac. Hardly elegant but it works.

If those photos were part of the camera roll, they were part of the backup as well and you can restore from the latest backup you made on the old computer. After that transfer the photos to the new PC, follow this article: iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
Then sync again to the new one, which will erase the phone again.
You can also try to copy the backup folder from the old computer to the new one and see if the old backups get recognized, check this article to find the location on your PC:
Create and delete iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch backups in iTunes
If the photos were not taken with the phone, your data is gone, photos you sync from iTunes to the phone are not included in the backup.

OS Lion is a total mess

Why do Apple think its clever to upgrade their OS only to leave us all in a mess. I see pages and pages of complaints on these discussion boards.
I upgraded only because of my email account didn't work without it. Now I have so many issues, and please don't tell me its not because of Lion.
1- Wireless works only sporadically, I can never get on line via Safari, Email, or refresh my Podcasts, If I have my iPad (without Lion upgrade) next to me that works fine, but my MacPro takes 10 minutes of rebooting and trying to establish my wireless network, it's a total mess
2 - Time Machine keeps failing, I have to reboot my ex HD over and over again.
3 - Syncing my iPhone and iPad especailly photos to iPhoto constantly fails.
For a number of years I had everything working fine, Lion comes along, and now its like working with a computer in the early 90's, full of problems.
How can I remove Lion. I'll simply do without iCloud.
