IOS 4 Contact Birthday Date Bug.

iPad 2, iOS 4.3.3
iPad iOS decreases by one day all birthday data of my 2150 contacts after syncing with my Google account immediately.
I see this is a very old bug and you have to know about it.
My day work is nowhere and I can start again.
Don't tell me please I have to change all data manually again.
Solve this bug at last. Be so kind.
Thank you very much.
Do you have any better solution already?

Hello,
I have the same problem, and it was the same even for previous versions of iPhone OS. I don't think it's a time zone issue, as I am living in Norway and the reports here are the same from various locations.
However, I think I might have found a workaround for this problem. Normally I have my mail, contacts and calendar synced via Exchange. When I in addition to syncing with Exchange select "Sync contacts with Outlook" in the "info" tab in iTunes on my computer, the dates appear to be transferred correctly. But then again, this gives me several contact groups on my iPhone, whilst I really only want and need one group, the Exchange contacts. Anyway, the contacts appear only once when I select the "group" all contacts on my iPhone.
Hope this can be of any help until the bug is fixed.

  • Iphone iOS 4 Contact Birthday Date Bug.

    Hello,
Every time I add a contact and add their birthday the date of the birthday automatically moves by one day.
For example, I will select someones birthday as the 23rd of march and click done but the contact birthday shows 24th. Even if I select a random date say 1st June, it will say 2nd.
When I go into the calendar app and display the birthday calendar the birthdays are right though, it will have a notification as a birthday on the 23rd.
I have done a fresh restore from a backup and as a new iphone, still I have the error.
I'm thinking that the contact list in iOS4 is set to a specific timezone different from my phones timezone as it adjusts it for a day. I live in New Zealand and my timezone settings are set to Auckland, New Zealand, even in the calendar time zone. When I change my timezone settings to somewhere in the USA it automatically changes the contacts birthdays to the correct date. When I change it back it adjusts te birthdays by a day again. This would be correct as the 23rd in USA would be the 24th here but my contacts are not in a different timezone so why does my iphone think they are? Even if a add a new contact it still changes the birthday date.
    Any help would be great.

  • Contact Birthday Date Sync Problem N9

    I have a Nokia N9.
I sync calendar and contacts with my Google Account via the MfE account on my N9.
    The Calendar entries work correctly.
However, the Birthday and Anniversary date entries for my contacts mis-sync by one calendar day.
For example, if a contact has a birthday on 10th November in my Google contacts, it displays as 11th November in my N9 Contacts list. Interestingly, if you 'click on' the birthday field from the Contacts entry, it will take you to the 10th November in the Calendar (that is, the correct date!).
The time zone in both Google and the phone are correct and set the same (Syd/Mel, GMT +11). The formats are the same (24hr Clock etc). There are no alarms set as reminders in either Google or the phone.
Anybody know how to make the phone sync the dates correctly? Thanks

I’ve had another look at this.
I was wrong about the birthday in the contact taking you to the most recent one; not sure what I did but it was finger trouble.
Unfortunately, it has just reiterated the original problem.
For example, there is a contact in my list with a birthdate of 3rd December, 1958.
The Birthday field in Google Contacts shows 3rd December 1958.
The Birthday field in N9 Contacts shows 4th December 1958.
When you open the Contact page to edit the individual fields and tap on the Birthday field, it takes you to December 1958 and highlights .... the 3rd!!
I clicked on the 3rd and then saved the changes to the Contact Birthday field in the N9 and it still showed the 4th.
I have had auto time update ‘ON’ and ‘OFF’ and I have changed the time zone in my phone from GMT+11 in increments to GMT-4 and nothing changes in the Birthday field.
It looks like the error lies in the birthday coding.

  • IOS7 contact birthday bug

I really enjoy the new iOS7 but discoverd a bug in the calendar app. When "birthday" is activated in the calendar app the date of the birthday of a particular person appears in the app one day before the actual event. In the contact app all birthdays are correct. In iCal on my Mac Book Pro the dates appear correct.
The only solution was so far that I changed the date, saved it and changed it back to the old one. Then it appeared in the calendar app at the right date. But as I have a lot of birthday event of a lot of people (app. 700) and rely on its correct date and I am not able anymore to verify the correct birthday of every single person. Actually it should appear in the calendar app at the right time. I use the iPhone 4s and discovered the bug after the update to iOS7 and before update to iOS7.0.2. Meanwhile I updated to iOS7.0.2 but the bug remains.
If I assign new birthday dates to contacts it fine but the problem is with the old ones already created before the update.
Is there any other solution expect of going through all single contacts and resaving the date as mentioned? Thanks.

In calendar app on the iPhone I deactivated Birthdays and activated it again. Now it seems to work again and the correct date appeares at the right date in calendar.

  • Why is it when I enter a birthday date for a contact as the 12th of November 1993 that the birthday appears as the 11th of November and as the 19th birthday rather than the correct 20th?

Yoor post is very confusing. AOL's iPad magazine is called "Editions" and it's free. "The Daily" is put out by TheDailyHolding and is owned by Rupert Murdoch. You've already posted in another thread where the solution was given. Other people seem to have manged to get unsubscribed.
    Best of luck.

  • All contact birthdays are now listed as the date before

Weird problem that affects my iCal and Address Book. I've recently noticed that every single one of my contacts' birthdays are now listed as the date prior to the actual birthday (the date that was entered in the first place). Not sure when this happened, but it has been since upgrading to Snow Leopard (but I'm not really sure that it occurred because of the upgrade). Has anyone had this problem? I'd love a quick fix, one that doesn't require me manually changing every single contact's birthday. But more than that, I'd like to know why this happened in order to hopefully prevent it in the future. Thanks.

I just discovered the same thing.Had to got through and manually change every birthday. Interestingly, the change was in Addressbook, which is where iCal gets its info.

  • Recording birthday dates with other contact information

I would like to be able to record birthday dates along with other contract info in my phone directory and at the same time, have my calendar app. "remember" and "record" these dates so that I will automatically be reminded of upcoming birthdays without making a separate entry.
I could do that on my Blackberry but not with the Razr. Any suggestions.
    Pjone3rd

I remember signing into my Google calendar from a computer  and adding a calendar called contacts birthdays. Then whichever Gmail/Google contacts had birthdays and any I added afterwards were added to that calendar and synced with my phone.
    Hope this helps.

  • Google Contact Birthdays

Currently I my 3GS iPhone is running the new iOS4 system. I've synced all of my Google contacts to my iPhone, everything seems to appear except for the birthday field in my iPhone. Is there a way to sync so that the birthdays appear in my contact list or do I have to manually enter all of my contacts birthday so that it appears in my phone + calendar?

Doesn't this happen to anyone? I tried it on my wife's phone, and it also has this bug. It happens on iOS only. Try creating an All-day event on October 19th. you'll notice that it spills over to the next day. and this bug has been around since at least iOS 6.
Here's another question: If nobody knows how to fix this, how can I file a bug report?
    cheers!

  • Impossible to add birthday date

With iOS 4.1 it's impossible to add a birthday on 8 September 1978 into the Contacts birthday field.
All days are dimmed except 1th of September (1978).
If you change month or year all works well.

I have the same problem, but only for September 1978. Exactly like valepe: selecting this month all other days except 1st are greyed and not selectable.
I opened Bug 9475688 in bugreport.apple.com, they reported be it is solved in "iOS 5.0b3 (9A5259f)"... but I've got only 5.0 (9A334) in xCode simulator and this version do not work yet.

  • IOS 5 birthday calendar

    Hi all,
my iphone 4 with iOS 5 is transferring the birthdays from the contacts to the birthday calendars always 1 day too early.
e.g. contact birthday is 08.11. which is displayed in the calendar on 7.11. Which is very bad, one's you have called your friends a day too early .
Anybody got same problem and a solution?
    Thanks a lot.
In the meanwhile I do not use this new iOS 5 function.
    Cheers Erik

I have the same problem. The birthday is correct in Address Book, on iCal on my MBP and on my iPhone, but is one day early on my iPad. I'm syncing via iCloud now.
May be a time zone issue, but I think all devices are set up the same.

  • How can I get iCal not to show the same birthday dates from my iCloud

How can I get iCal not to show the same birthday dates from my iCloud?

You don't need them stored locally for a backup. You can manually export your contacts as archive for backup. Also, if you are backing up with Time Machine, you already have a backup. If your hard drive crashed, you would have to rely on your backup or iCloud anyway.
So, if you're comfortable with that, sign out of iCloud. Choose to delete contacts from the computer. When you sign back into iCloud, you should only have iCloud contacts listed in AB. When you open iCal, you should only have one listing for birthdays.
The other alternative is to disable the Birthday c.alendar and create one manually.

  • New contact birthdays are not showing up..

I'm iOS 7.1.1, not sure when this broke, but now when I add a new contact with a birthday that birthday isn't showing up on my calendar.  Other previously added contacts birthdays still show up fine, only new ones aren't showing.
I've done all the standard troubleshooting steps (killed all open apps and restarted.  Made sure bday alert is set.  Made sure bdays is a selected calendar. )
Help this is driving me nuts!

This seems to be occurring in IOS 7.1.2 also.  A hard reboot corrects it on the device I edited/added the contact but not on any other devices.  I've found that once icloud updates my contacts on my other devices, I can then force the calendar to update on them as well by doing the hard reboot on each of the devices.  I hope Apple fixes this soon.

  • Changing Birthday date in Apple Id account

    Hello all,
Last year i created an apple id for each of my children, but by mistake there birthday date is wrong. Accidentally both of my children have there year of birth the same as mine.
With IOS 8 Family Sharing new feature, when I add there account they appear as "Adult" and the "Ask to Buy" feature doesn't work...
I Tried to change this setting in the "Manage Your Id"/Password & Security apple site, but I receive a message saying that I can not change the birthday date!
Can someone help me with this?
    Thanks in advance
    Pedro Fonseca

As far as I know, that is currently the only workaround to convert an existing Apple ID to a child account. It accomplishes the purpose that is intended, even if the actual DoB is not correct. Once you want to remove the restrictions associated with a child account you can change the DoB back to the real DoB and that account will no longer have restrictions in place.
