Open the AppleScript Editor in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder, copy and paste the entire following line into it, and press the Run button:

Has anyone had the same problem with IOS 6 install and McAfee flagging certain IOS 6 install components as Malware?

I was using ITunes to install IOS 6 on my 64GB IPad 2 when McAfee on my IMac (Software OS X 10.8.1 (12B19)) reported that it had found Malware and had put the offending file into quarantine. The IOS 6 install process then tried to re-write the file. This happened with three seperate files that the IOS 6 install process was attempting to write, effectivley causing a stall in the process. The only way I could get the install process to complete was to go into the McAfee preferences and change quarantine to notify. The process then completed. Has anyone else come across this problem?

Hmmmm... That did not work. I did the full restore on the ipod touch (Losing that is the lesser of the two evils if I screwed it up) and before I resynced it, I unplugged it and tried to plug it into the wall adapter. But it would not charge. Plugged it back into the computer and it popped right up with the lightning bolt on the battery and began charging.
So I resynced it and at least all my stuff is still there. Not going to bother trying with my phone if it didn't work on the ipod touch.
I can assure you my 4s is out of warranty. I've had it for 2 years.

Ios 8 installed and now bluetooth in car not working

Ever since I did the update to OS8, the Bluetooth in my IPhone will not work with my car. I have removed and reinstalled the Bluetooth with IPhone. I am about to scrub the IPhone and get IOS7 put back on. GVG in Colorado.

Basic trouble shooting steps are Restart then Restore in that order: Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

I downloaded a free Merriam-Webster Dictionary app for use on my iphone 5. I thought I followed the download process properly, but cannot see that the app is launched on my phone. I have checked my phone for 'updates' and the app is listed among the ones I have purchased. I clicked on it and it began installing, however, it still has not launched. I get a message screen to sign in with my Apple ID, which I tried, and I get the message that I have purchased this app and it will download. When I try to sign in, I get the message that it can't connect to the itunes store and to retry. I've done that several times without any luck...not sure where else to look for the 'working' app. I did try re-booting the phone...even did a 'hard reset' to no avail...help?

I installed Microsoft office for Mac using the CD, and I'm willing to buy iWork 09 (CD not the serial number). When I change my Mac to a new one, how will I install them again? Will I have to uninstall in a certain way, because I think that if I tried to install the CD on another Mac, it will tell me that I already installed this program. Please Help.

I can't answer about Microsloth Office but iWork will not care that you are install it on a new computer.
My suggestion is to install OpenOffice on the new computer and ignore Microsloth.

Eth0 fails after installing and operating ath0 using ath_pci

Hi everyone, thank you for taking a look at my problem here.
I'm operating on an older IBM Thinkpad A22M. When I first install ArchLinux, eth0 works fine. I can dhcpcd into my network and browse the internet without a problem. Once I add this WG511T PCMCIA card, and attempt to connect with it, eth0 fails and nothing I can do will bring it back.
I am operating no network managers and I do not do
sudo ifconfig eth0 down
before doing anything at all with the ath0.

Of course, taking down eth0 and then bringing it back up does not work. I have already made sure that the ethernet cable and the router both work by plugging in another PC. I've looked at just about everything I could find to figure out what would cause this kind of issue, but I have found little in answers.

What are you using to connect to the network itself? IE netcfg2, wicd, knetworkmanager... ?
Try using either the "mii" or "ethtool" application to gain some info perhaps? I've used ethtool to re-connect seemingly dead connections. Some people find the "dhcpcd" client to be a pain and quirky with their hardware, so often I see others recommend using "dhclient" instead. Give that a try perhaps, and check the netcfg2 page on the arch wiki for troubleshooting ideas if you have time.
Stupid question but what is the Irda port used for in your case? I know its infrared but I've never seen that port actually used for something even on the Thinkpad line of lappys, where its most commonly found. Maybe its conflicting somehow?
