IOS 5.0.1 with wifi weak
Hello friends.
I'm having a problem with the Wi-Fi signal from my iPhone 4 and my neighbor iPhone 4 with iOS.5.0.1
But the problem only starts when I upgraded my iOS4 to iOS5.0.1
The wi-fi only works if I get around 10m from the router.
If I come to my room, I lose the signal.
I tried everything I found on google, but problems persist.
I tried in another houses and locales, but they dont find any Wifi signal if i dont stay next the routers.
The problem is really with iOS5?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore. Has any of this been tried?

IPhone 6/iOS 8 email issues with wifi connection

I have just upgraded from an iPhone 4 (iOS 7) to an iPhone 6 (iOS 8) and am having an issue with my pop email account. I used my iPhone 4 backup to set up new iPhone, so all the settings were as they were in my old phone. I have two email accounts, one is an IMAP account and the other is a POP account (which is my main email), I have no problems connecting to the server and downloading emails when connected via 4G (its super fast), but when I am connected via wifi, the POP account takes ages to connect to the server and check for emails (stuck on checking for email). I can speed up the process by closing mail app completely and reopening, then it checks and downloads really quickly (IMAP account has no problems), but this is frankly a pain.
I have spent ages on the phone with Apple support, who have got me to delete my POP email account twice, reset network settings, reset the phone using on/off button and home button, all to no avail. They are intent on telling me it's my email service providers fault, but as I pointed out there is no issue on 4G and my old iPhone (using iOS 7) on wifi has no issues, so can't be email provider. I have also tried using Apple's wifi in store to rule out router issue and the problem happened there too.
Have now run out of suggestions and options. I'm not sure if it's the phone itself, either a hardware or software issue (Apple support think not). Someone told me that it could be the wifi on my phone blocking the connection to the server. I have an appointment booked at the genius brand they have suggested wiping the phone and setting up as a new phone to see if the problem occurs, but this seems a bit drastic and I would lose all messages etc. Any help would be appreciated.I have solved the issue! I tried my pop account on other devices with iOS 8 and the same thing happened, so I deduced that the issue is a glitch in iOS 8 with wifi and pop accounts. I managed to get hold of the IMAP settings for my email provider and all seems to be well. Happy days!

Two iPad 2 IOS 7.1.2: different behaviour with WiFi!
We have two iPad 2, IOS 7.1.2
The first one connects to out WiFi network everywhere around the house:Speedtest 28Mbps in same room as router and 13Mbps in the room with the weakest signal
2nd iPad: 18.78Mbps in same room and no signal whatsoever in room with weakest signal!
I tried all the troubleshooting fixes on the Apple Support pages and nothing helps!
Does anybody have the same problem and do you have any tips?
I don't dare upgrade IOS after major problems with WiFi after upgrade by other users!

Anybody a idea how to solve the following problem. Since upgrade to IOS 6 having problems with WIFI tried everything reset network settings changed the Itunes password, then all of a suden this Saturday WIFI was on line again, I thought yes all problems solved.
Wish it was, Sunday morning no more WIFI, now if I go to settings I am not even aible to turn WIFI on, it seems the screen is blocked and I am not able to switch from OFF to ON.
I already tried to a resset to factory settings via Itunes no luck.
Did anybody have this problem already or anybody any idea to solve this problem?

I need a solution over it. i have check on your cummunity people saying to keep the phone in refrigerator that will solve the WIFI problem. i hope apple are considering on the quwries of the people such a major case need to be sort out soon where all the data and contents are getting deleted from phone on the researt and also upgrading to the new IOS 7.0.2 or IOS 7.0.3 the WIFI buttopn is grayed (disabled). being on the global markets and such issues on upgrading then its better to be with the previos ios atleast it would work fine. even some times when i switch to HDR mode in cammera it crashes. some time it captures photo but when i try to view its total black dont even open on other phones or computers.
i kindly request you to go throuth the all the quesries and do revert on the same ASAP.Apple guys are deleting posts. I have found my posts have been deleted. Apple should MUST let us downgrade at least to previous release from current which was working fine.

I never had a problem with ios 4. I add an issue with my last iphone 4, my fault. Apple sent me a new phone with ios 5. Worked great for a couple of weeks. Then my wifi started dropping. Not a huge deal. Picked it up again. Then it happened more frequently and the wifi dropped. Not happy. Then it stopped locating my home router completely. "Could not scan for networks". Awesome. So I updated to ios 6. WORSE. Wifi greyed out. So I found a solution (thank you) from someone on the forum to stop all running programs (home menu twice and hit x to programs on there) and shut phone off for 5 minutes. No more grey-out wifi, but scanning still didn't work. But then occasionally it did. Weird. I've tried all the 'creative' suggestions like resetting networks/ phone, router, etc. This is not a problem with just a few phones. I have seen several posts from people who are having this same problem. Some say it's software; some say hardware. I don't know what to think. Now it's back to 'could not scan for networks'. I've tried to change settings on my iphone and router. I don't know how to reset my router to factory settings (Cisco), but am working on that. Seriously though... I shouldn't have to jump through hoops here. Apple should be bending over backwards to resolve this annoying issue. Yet.. no word from Apple. No timeline for this fix. I have run the gamuet (sp?) on fixes for all kinds of wifi issues. I feel like I've had them all short of water damage (absolutely no water has touched my phone through my cage-like case). So. On Monday... I may have to take my phone in to an Apple store to see if I can get a replacement. Software/hardware/who cares. I shouldn't have to search on here for a solution. The answer SHOULD be easy and resolved. I'm thoroughly annoyed.
Verify that the user names and passwords are entered correctly.
Restoring from backup does not seem to always restore the password for email accounts. -

Is it possible to recover my data from iCloud backup without working wifi? I have as many other upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS 7.0.2 with the result that the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth no longer works. However, i can connect to iTunes via cable but there is wrong version of backup.
Answer is no.
If you want the iCloud backup you have to have n internet connection, thus WiFi.
The not working WiFi has happened with quite a number of users.
It is not exactly clear what is the cause but there are suggestions to clear it up:
Some people have had success by removing an apostrophe from the iPhone name. If your iPhone is called something like “John’s iPhone” then this might work. Go to Settings > General > About > Name and change it to something with no apostrophe.
Some people have reported success by putting the iPhone into Airplane mode and then going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, but the problem may return.
You could also try going to Settings > Control Center and disable Access on Lock Screen then turn your iPhone off and on again.
Make sure that your router firmware is up to date.
Try backing up your iPhone and then restoring it. Check how to factory reset an iPhone for details.
If nothing is working for you, try contacting Apple or take your iPhone into an Apple Store.

since i updated my iphone 4 to ios 6, i ve noticed that the wifi connection turns off each time when the screen is locked. I need to be connected with wifi all the time so as to stay updated with all my emails. is there anyway for this problem.
(PS: i know we could use 3G but i want to use wifi instead)I am having a really wierd issue as well that is probally related. I dont see 95% of the album artwork associated with my music. Also, it seems as if this has gotten worse since I started using that match feature

I have iPhone 4 with updated latest iOS And i am using FIND IPHONE application. But everytime when ever i login in it and serch for the device its shows the device but never give me the location"NO LOCATION AVAILABLE".It is already connected with WIFI and i tried all the stuffs that has been written in the manual. Plese give me the Proper suggetion about this issue..!!
If your router is not identified in a national database (don't recall who maintains it or where it is) then there is no location associated with it. Hence your device cannot be located. I suggest you try your test at some public wifi spot, like a bookstore or coffee shop. These places usually have a location associated with their wifi router.

If you are connected to Wi-Fi, have enough available space on the device and a current backup, I would try the steps in the article below. Also, you can always update via iTunes on your computer.

Lost my phone it had ios 7.2.0 with pass code and I cloud I'm aware it can be restore on DFU mode but can't use it if they don't have the iCloud user if and password the phones linked with. Question is in this process if the person connects it to his or her wifi to setup up the phone will I be able to track the phone after the restore ? Even though he can't use it because he has no Id no password
You can do nothing if it's not online. With a passcode and iOS 7.1 (there is no 7.2) the device is uselss because it cannot be erased except by you.

That is not good but lets see if we can get it back to life. If you can, see if you can put your iPhone into recovery mode and then use iTunes to restore it. If you can get it to restore, it will erase everything off your iPhone. If you have a back up in iTunes or iCloud then you can put that on after the restore is complete.
