IOS 5.0 Calendar without dots on month view

I updated my iPod touch to the new 5.0 iOS, but the month view of calendar is now without the little dots on days with some event.
So I have to tap day by day to check if there are events, or I have to use the week view or the day view, but not so convenient.
Looks like I have no event for all the month.

  • Why aren't Calendar categories colored in month view

On the iPhone 5S under iOS 7.0.4 in the Calendar app, in the month view, existting daily events are indicated by gray dots.  Why aren't these dots colored according to the event category?  My recollection is that used to be the case prior to iOS 7.0.  In day or week view, the time or full day are showing the respective category color.  And on the iPad Air, under iOS 7.0.4, the calendar month view DOES show the category color in the dot! Did Apple forget about this functionality?  I can see there is an event, but not the categories I used (medical, travel, etc).

Comparing this functionality between a larger format such as the iPad and the smaller format on the iPhone is a little like apples and oranges. The iPad in Month view has enough space on each day to show discrete entries - and can consequently show them in their respective calendar colors. On the Phone, it only has space to indicate that one or more events exist (represented by a single dot). If you have more than one event, in different categories, which category color should it display?

  • IOS 5 calendar today refresh in month view

    Hello,
I mostly use the monthly view in iPad calendar. Since iOS 5 the refresh of the today "blue box" at 00:00 am is not working anymore. The today blue box does not update at day change. I have to switch to another view like week or day and back to month to get it updated.
Is it the same for you ? Any solution ?

  • Create Calendar Event? (e.g. Birthday etc...) without showing on Month view

Calendar works great love the new look, One gripe.
I have a number of "All Day Events" in Outlook / on my Z10 like birthdays Anniversary's etc...
They are currently setup as All Day Events and my time shows Free under them, so no problem with conflicting events.
I use the month view as default to get a very quick overview of my week.
If I have a trade show to attend, its usually apparent by the solid line that would take up the whole day instead of just an hour or two event.
The problem is that Birthday's and such show up the same way (solid line for the whole day)
Last week there was a few birthdays and one show, although I can't tell the difference between them on the Calendar.
Is there a way to setup the calendar or my events differently so that the All day events that I show as free time are in a different colour (like grey when there is an all day event and actual meetings. then it shows different)
Should I be adding these types of events or reminders of birthdays etc.. differently in outlook / on the phone...
    any help would be great.
What about an icon on the month view (like the +2 icon on the week / day view) that lets you know you have an all day event reminder on that day, but not showing the line for the whole day.
Any thoughts on how to get around this?

This is becoming a monologue. I gave PathFinder a try. I like it a lot. In fact, it is even more powerful in terms of file browsing compared to RAGE Mac Explorer. In particular I get much more detailed "GetInfo" info from PathFinder. It basically returns metadata similar to Preview Info. And you can get these (e.g. sampling rate) from: 1) last Preview column in Column view, 2) GetInfo, 3) Inspector-like permanent preview pane at the bottom of List view, and 4) File Report. You can also show a short "preview" string for each file in List view (similar to the string shown in Finder's icon view).
But... I still can't find a way to add metadata I care about to columns in PathFinder, the way you can in Windows Explorer.
So, I figure my last resort is to create some folder automation to gather info about each file according to its file type, and modify Spotlight Comment for each file. At least in the Finder I can show the Comment field. But oddly, neither PathFinder nor RAGE Mac Explorer lets me show the Comment field.
    Sigh.

  • A dot on monthly view in Reminders

Hi. I use Reminders so much, but it would be better if we could see the days that contain reminders with a dot on them in monthly view, just like in Calendar. Is it possible? I think it's not so difficult for Apple to make it... I don't want to use another program for it. Please help me...

Busy/Free are generally used in settings where you share calendars so that people looking for mutually free blocks of time can find them. Events marked as "Free" are still shown on the calendar.
What you might consider doing is setting up a second calendar for all those "free" events. Then you can turn that calendar on or off by tapping the word "Calendars" at the bottom of the Calendar app and unchecking it.

  • Why are my events in iCal NOT sorted by calendar? (in the month view))

I use 5 calendars in iCal (iCloud).
Even in iCloud beeing opened in a browser, the events are all mixed up. The events of "Calendar 1" are sometimes above those of "Calendar 2", sometimes below. Same thing with the other calendars. This causes much blindness in using iCal...
When I use iCal, all events are also mixed up, but in a different order as they are in iCloud (browser).
I think, it should be able to sort all events in the month view by the calendar in which they have been entered. Isn't this the purpose of beeing able to arrange the calendars in differents ways?
    Sorry for my bad english...
I would be grateful for some help!

    no help?

  • ICal not indicating final day of event by a placing a dot in month view

I consider this to be a bug:
on my iPhone 5, in month view, when I input a multiple day event, there are dots everywhere indicating that something is occurring that day. However, the last day of a multiple-day event, no dot appers.
    For example:
If I have an event from Friday at 8am to Monday at 5pm, all days except Monday are dotted. This is clearly not functioning as intended.

  • TS3999 can't see times of my icloud calendar events when using month view...

I use a macbook pro and like to view my icloud calendar using month view so I can see the whole month at a glance.
It used to be that when I viewed my calendar using Google Chrome, the time of each event would show next to the event name. Recently, this changed and now the month view just shows the events, not the times. This is also true for my macbook ical - month view only shows events, no times.
Is there an option to allow the times to show when using month view? I looked in preferences and didn't see one.
Also, as a side note, I tested in Firefox and the times DO show when using month view. I just prefer using my ical or chrome, so would love to figure out a way to fix there.
    thanks for any help!

I was able to see some posts after I made mine and I found the answer to the macbook ical issue.

would still love any input on the google chrome issue. If anyone knows how to show event times in chrome, I'd love to hear how!
    thanks.

  • Calendar App crashes in Month view

I have noticed today that when I try to navigate forward through the months of the year from Feb using either page swiping or the navigation arrow > at the base of the app, the app crashes each and every time.
A reboot has not resolved this. If the view is set to week, there are no problems, and navigating backwards is fine also (Feb>Jan).
Has anyone else experienced this or can suggest a solution?
    Ipad2, 32gb, approx 6gb free.
    IOS 6.0.1

Musky50's suggestion worked for me too.  It appears to be a clock change to summer time (the Americans change after us) and if you change all your April 1st All Day events to timed events this seems to work.  If you have subscribed calendars etc you will need to uncheck these as Events in a subscribed calendar can't be changed and some are All Day.  Someone somewhere else said that the update to 6.1 cured this problem.  I haven't done this yet so can't say.

  • Calendar Events Disappear In Month View

This has occurred twice now since iOS 5 on my original iPad. My default view is Month and when I launched the app on these occasions it opened to all dates blank. Frightened me at first thinking iCloud had wiped all my events out of my calendars however I discovered that if I changed the view to year, week or whatever the events were all there and remained when I switched back to month. So far this has only happened on my iPad and not on our iPhones all running iOS 5 or on our computers syncing through iCloud. Has anyone else seen something similar?

I was hoping this would be addressed in the iOS 5.0.1 update yesterday but the issue still persists. I opened my calendar app this morning and was greeted with a blank month once again. Of course, swiping to the next month and back repopulated it but it's really, really annoying to have to do that - especially considering that the calendar always worked flawlessly before the iOS 5 update.
I've submitted another bug report and will keep my fingers crossed for the next update.

  • IPad first gen Calendar will not show month view for March. When you go feb to march the pad goes back to the home screen. Apr etc are all there. March seems to have some problem always going to the home screen. How can I fix this

I am haveing trouble with the calandar view on an iPad first gen. the month of March will not display , no matter how it is asked for the device drops out of calandar and defaults to the home screen. all other months display. Any fix suggestions welcome.

Try removing any all-day events from the calendar for the 1st April 2013 e.g. if you are syncing the calendar from somewhere else (e.g. Outlook on a PC or iCal/Calendar on a Mac) then change it to a timed event instead of all-day (if you don't sync your calendar from anywhere then try going into list view, go to 1st April and change any 'all day' events to times e.g. change Easter Monday to start at something like 4am) - it seems that there is a problem with all day events on that date which is when the clocks change due to daylight saving on the day before.

  • Calendar on I pad, monthly view, does anyone else find it unstable?

I notice than when I move forward more than a few months my version always closes down. It does not do this in weekly or other views but as I usually find monthly suits my diary needs it is annoying.

If it abends when you try to view March then try removing any all-day events from the calendar for the 1st April 2013 e.g. if you are syncing the calendar from somewhere else (e.g.

  • ICal's Mini-Calendar Confused as to Month -- creates "offsets"

This is the second time in a week I've run into this problem. A cursory look at recent threads doesn't seem to show anyone else with the problem, although I easily could have missed it.
Occasionally, when I open iCal, it is "confused" as to the month. That is, even though right now it is 12/29, opening iCal and viewing the mini calendar in the lower left hand corner shows that it is the 29th -- but on the *November 2009* calendar. This persists if you advance the calendar ahead or back months. For example, in January, the 19th is supposed to be a Tuesday, but the mini calendar does not reflect it as such.
I've found that a way to fix the problem is to have the main calendar go to the "monthly" view, and then advance it. That seems to reset the mini-calendar.
Weird, right? Anyone else seeing this?
FWIW, I do use an iPhone.

    Brian,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Often iCal display problems can be corrected by refreshing the the com.apple.iCal.plist file. You will find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Quit iCal, drag the com.apple.iCal.plist file to your Desktop, log out/in or restart and check iCal for normal behavior.

  • Remove "time" from Month view on Published Calendar

I am trying to remove the time from published calendars when in the "Month" view. The time is not showing on ical on the computer... but shows up on the published calendar. This is taking up tooooo much room on the calendar.
    Thank you for any assistance.

    Hi HWTheoB,
In my opinion, you could add a content editor web part to your listview page, then in the "source editor" property of your CEWP you can type <style>.ms-cal-monthitem
    B {display:none}</style>.
In addition, for the similar issue, you can refer to the following threads, although it is for SharePoint 2007, but you can get some hints from these articles:
